Cartridge implementation In OAS+Dev server
How do you implement cartridge application in OAS & dEV 6.0.I tried modifying cartrig.html,no result.I used JInitiator route no use.Things worked fine in Dev2000 R2.1.In OAS when you create a application & a cartridge(forms cartridge) it does not start even if i modify the hosts parameter in the
application/server config parameters(setting no of servers to 1) why?

Sherry,
Is the cartridge necessary for internet (browser) deployment or
just from intranet (application) deployment?

How Cartridge works in OAS/form server
Hi, guys:
I am deploying forms to the web.
Since the base HTML file for cartridge implementation is the
same as that for non-cartridge implementation, I really can not
figure out how the OAS/form server knows if using Cartridge or
non-cartridge implementation. (ie: Do I need call the
Cartridge in my base HTML?)
Your help is highly appreciated.

Dev Server 6 and OAS 4.08
I am currently trying to set up an environment using Developer Server (6) - Forms and Reports servers, OAS 4.0.8.1, NT4.0 sp5.
I have managed to configure the reports server and it operates both in cartridge and CGI mode. However the Forms Server is driving me nuts...I keep getting the dreaded white screen.
I have several questions
1. Should i have installed OAS and Dev Server in different Oracle Homes?
2. Do i need Jinitiator? If yes is it version 1.1.7.18.
3. Do i need patch set4 (6.0.5.32.0) for Forms? If yes where can i get it?
I really hope some of you can help - i have looked at all the Oracle documentation and all this has served to do is confuse the issue further.

Check metalink.oracle.com for the exact number. Also you download the patches here.

Reports 6 cartridge will not start (DEV TEAM PLEASE HELP)
Reports 6 cartridge + OAS 4.0.7.1 on solaris 2.6, RDBMS 7.3.4.4
all installed in different oracle home problems
We used to run our reports with the CGI interface and it worked
fine. Now we try to move to the cartridge implementation and we
have a problem. We are on solaris 2.6, developper server 6.0
patch level 4.
We followed the configuration steps from the oracle
documentation.
Now we have the following problems:
When we try the following url: http://my_machine_name/rwows60?
Instead of getting the reports help page, we get an HTTP 500
error. Here is what show in the OAS

virtual path is rwows60):

Any help would be appreciated.
We also found that there might be an error in the aformentionned
document: They tell us to put %ORAWEB_HOME%/bin in the Physical

ORACLE tech support said that DEV Server 6.0 needs to be
installed in the same OH as OAS 4.0.7.1. I had problems
relinking and had to install it in its own oracle home. Could it
really be the problem ?
nullHi,
Indeed, you did, but I mist it ... sorry it's only because of my French ... hahaha
You did find the answer to my problem and also the solution ... I kept missing the slide on the side the window of the DVD so I did not think of the extra package and all that time it was there ... How " ........... " (dumb) of me ...
thank you very much for opening my eyes and for your patience.
And yes ! X11 is now working... !!! I have been trying for two days ....
Thanks everyone, I am glad to be in the Apple/Mac Community !

Cartridge implementation on OAS4.0.7 !
hi,
i have deployed my application using Developer server 6 and OAS4.0.7 on winnt sp 3 workstation having 256 MB RAM(non-cartridge implementation). as there are more than 15 users, the application is running very slow. i want to use forms and reports cartridges to make the application running faster ?? can somebody please guide me on how to create cartridges and implement them ??
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
SauminHi Saumin,
using a cartridge is not what you expect it to do. The cartridge implementation provides a more dynamically approach for starting Forms applications and further a way to setup load balancing using the Metrics Server.
Since Reports and Forms are not real cartridges (only implemented as cartridges to improve startup) the performance that you'll gain by setting up the cartridge is not what you probably expect.
I would suggest to have a look at your memory
CPU and network. -
Any known issues about CGI/Cartridge implementations
Hello,
Please advise.
A. I have been told that the Forms Server can handle only a limited number of connections. Is this TRUE?
If yes,
1. what are the other alternatives?
2. how many concurrent connections can a Forms Server handle?
B. Are cartridge implementations better that CGI implementations?
Thanks for a reply.
Regards
YogeerajSorry, I do not have any sites you can access (and I guess those companies would not want anyone logging on to them!!!).
If you have a question then post a new thread and we can discuss. However, with Forms on the Web you should be able to deploy with similar performance to client server. Infact in many cases performance can be better when deployed on the web. This of course depends on the way you have designed your Forms. If a Form had 10 tabbed canveses with 10 multi-row blocks of 10 items then the Forms Server has to tell the client to draw (10*10*10) items. This may lead you to see performance issues.
As I said, start a new thread and give me details of what kind of performance issues you are getting and we can address them

Update Knowledge base on Production with Dev Server
Hi Friends,
I have a knowledge base on my dev server and we imported same knowledge base to Prod server.
So here my questions is, we have created some rules in the dev knowledge base so we need to replicate same rules to prod knowledge base? how to overwrite prod knowledge base with Dev knowledge?
Can anyone guide me how to do that please?
Thanks,
RKHi Samir,
Stopping the e-mails to be sent out shouldn't be a problem in this system I think. You can still test everything, without the business getting confused. If you want to see if an e-mail is correct you can still check it in transaction SOST without it being sent.
Otherwise inform the business about e-mails sent form different systems and add the system name in the e-mail message so they know from which system the e-mail is comming and if they have to respond.

In dev server my payment advice form f110_prenum_chc is not working
hi,
friends i need urgent help.
1) i have copied f110_avis_in frm 000 client to 200 client with form name
z_prenum_dup.
2) i have copied f110_prenum_chc frm 000 client to 200 client form name
zf110_prenum_chc1.
3) then i modified my both forms in 200 saved assigned TRs and
transported frm DEV server to PRD server(client 700).
4)in dev server 200 client my both forms are working
but in prd server 700 client my form cheque z_prenum_dup is
working but payment advice form zf110_prenum_chc1 is
not working.
5) but i can see my both forms r their in 700 prd server in se71 t.code.
6) if i run f-58 tr.code and by switching on debug mode i can see my
cheque form but not payment advice form.
7) if i run in 200 client i can see my both forms.
can any body plz help me out of this issue.Dear,
I will be able to put some points, if you can give me some more idea about ur problem,
1, Does system giving any error..?
2, Can you see a preview..?
As I understood, it must not have any problem in transportation.
You can also check with Respective functional consultant whether he has done with required customization in NACE..?
One more thing you can do is,
open a program RSNAST00 and put break point at " PERFORM (tnapr-ronam) IN PROGRAM (tnapr-pgnam) USING returncode", here you can check at runtime ( While in debugging mode) the value of field TNAPR-FONAM, this value must be your SmartForm. If it is not the case then, there is problem with NACE settings and contact your functional counterpart.
Hope it's helpful .......Enjoy.

Data Cartridge Implementation - PGA Memory Problem
Hi,
I have modified the Data Cartridge implementation explained in the article at http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=422.
More precisely I have modified it to create not only the type returned, but also the select statement.
The problem I have, is that the PGA memory through the execution of my package always increases, and when it ends the execution the PGA doesn't get released.
I'm wondering if i'm missing something on the ODCITableClose.

Error while Importing from Dev Server using Transport Request.
Hello Everyone,
Please help me on the following problem.
I imported my package which consists of 2 reports, one module pool and one copied standard Function Group consisiting of 3 FM's from my DEV server to Quality Server using Tranport Request(Co files and Data files) It was successful.
However due to some reasons , i need to delete everyting from Quality Server.
So i again created a new request and assigned everything again to this new request. But now some objects are imported like Reports but module pool and Function Group incudind FM's are not imported...
Can anyone tell me why?
And What should i do in this case?Yes when i tried to import the Request and checked the logs, it says Error.
The Log is like.
Selection for Import 17.08.2011 17:03:13 (0) Successfully Completed

I have checked everything for Module Pool also as well as for FG but i am unable to understand te problem.
My one colleague is saying you need to have a new name for each object. -

Hello,
I have made an exact copy of our production server to create a development server. I have installed it but the dev server not start. The jcontrol.exe stay yellow and the dispatcher and the server0 stay on "Starting framework". No error in the dump stack trace.
The developer trace for the dispatcher and the server0 has :

[Thr 38588] JLaunchISetState: change state from [Initial (0)] to [Waiting for start (1)]
[Thr 38588] JLaunchISetState: change state from [Waiting for start (1)] to [Starting (2)]
and nothing after.
I have checked the files std_dispatcher.out and std_server0.out, and i have the same thing:
Loading : ClusterManager ... 154ms
Loading : LockingManager ...
I have wait 1 day and no change.
Somebody could help me? Please.I have after a lot of time a dump stack trace:

Transporting from DEV server to Production Server
Dear Experts,
Like in ABAP and other SAP modules we are having Transport Requests to transport from Dev server to Production server In XI how can we transport all the configuration done by me from Dev server to Production server.Hi,
In XI we can transport in two ways :
1) File Transport
2) Using CMS which needs configuration to be done
Using the File Transport you can easily the Export the Objects and Import the Objects in the Target system.
Select the Object in the Design or Configuration ->right Click you will find Export option.
When you select the It creates the .tpz file which can be imported in the Target System
Using file transfer or CMS we transport xi objects.
Transporting XI from DEV to QA
Look into this blog for how to export / improt IR and ID objects,

To revert back a transport request from prd to dev server
hi experts
how to revert back a transport request from prd server to
dev server?
a transport request has been wrongly transported
and it has make major changes in production server,
now we want to revert back that request , we know the request no.
regards
pankajAll you have to do is create an order of transport type "Transport of copies" in PRO.
I give you the steps to follow:
1. Go to SE01 and create a new order (remember the type "Transport of copies").
2. Enter the data of the order of transport that is going to come back.
3. Enter the target, here is where you asign the target system to carry the request.
4. Now just add the number of request to the new request you just created.
5. Finally released the request from this transaction.
6. Check on the queue of transport in DES, the request must appear there.
I hope you serve =) -
