CAS server deployment -- Additional Primary server deployment with same site code

Hi,
I have an primary site server deployed at one of the location on windows server 2008 R2 with SCCM 2012 R2.
I need to have an additional primary server at same site with OS of windows server 2012 R2 with SCCM 2012 R2.
I would need help in how to achieve this.
If I deploy this will my all endpoints will get an information of new Primary server at same site.

To add-on, based on the title of the post, do I understand it correctly that you want to deploy that second primary site in the same hierarchy with the same site code as an existing primary site? If so, that's a huge no-go. Never use the same site code
twice in the same hierarchy...

2 Primary sites now have same Site Code

I installed a second standalone 2012R2 primary site 002 in my domain and used a different Site code for the second Site. The existing site 2012-SP1 had site code 001. Followed all the best practices for this. Different boundaries. Everything worked
fine till now.
Something weird happened. The new Site 002 has been assigned the same site code as my old SCCM site 001. So I ended up with 2 different standalone primary sites in the same domain with the same site code...
If I check the System Management container it now shows the new server and the old Site code 001.
How could this happened? And more important, how to resolve this?

Update: Removed Management point from new Primary site. Disabled AD publishing.
Then enabled AD publishing in old site and restarted the old SCCM server to update the Systems Management container and this filled up ok again with the old site configuration records.
Checked site assignment on the clients and their site connection is now restored.
I also Upgraded the old site from 2012sp1 to 2012R2CU3 with success.
So now the old site is working again. New site might need a reinstall to assign a new site code.
I think my issue was with AD publishing still enabled on both primary sites. Still strange that the new site published itself in AD and reused the existing Site Code from the old site. But that's probably the direct result of the misconfiguration.

Two deductions for invoice with same reason code posted as one line item

Hi
We have a scenario wherein we are taking two or more deductions on the same invoice and are using the same reason code which have a setting of charge off.
SAP system displays the FI posting with same reason codes with charge off setting as one line item.
However we want the FI Posting to display separate line items per deduction and not combine amounts of deductions based on same reason code with charge off setting.
Any comments are appreciated.

Hi,
you can use different reason codes in distribute differences screen once you have fist selected one reason code for one invoice.

Cross company subcontrating in sap with same company code

we have an scinario of cross company subcontrating in sap with same company code , take an example my plat is 1003 and another is 1019 with same company code, so is it possible to do subcontracting ? i will process doccoumntation like j1if01

Yes,you can do subcontracting between plants of same company code.
You need to to treat respective plants as vendors.
SAP process may be
1. Create a subcon p.o (sending plant as vendor)
2. Issue material using MB1B
3. Raise challan using J1IF01 if it is excisable or else print material document(step-2) as delivery challan for reference.
4. Receiving plant will raise sales order based on p.o
5. GR material from issuing plant - MIGO
6. Process material
7. Do Delivery / PGI from receiving plant
8. Do billing or proforma invoice
9. Receive processed material based on p.o
10. Challan reconcillation(not needed if material is non excisable)
11. Invoice for subcontracting work(optional)

Form-16 ,if employee get transfered with same company code.

If an employee get ransfered from one personnel subarea to other personnel subarea with same company code, can we get Form-16 seperately for two different periods.

Pricing configuration for STO: -
In SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Conditions > Define Price Determination Process > Define Schema Determination > Determine Schema for Stock Transport Orders > Here assign Calculation Schema "RM2000" i.e. Stock Transfer Document to Schema Grp Pur. Org, STO Type (For e.g. UB) and Supplying Plant.
Calculation Schema "RM2000" has condition type P101 which will pick up the MAP of supplying plant automatically during creation of STO in ME21N ("Conditions" Tab).
You can create new freight / delivery cost conditions in M/06 for Margin and assign in pricing procedure "RM2000" in M/08 and also assign the Accrual Key to this and do the Account Determination for this Accrual Key in OBYC
At the time of PGI, following accounting entry will get generated;
Stock A/c - Dr - 110 INR (Receiving Plant)
Stock A/c - Cr - 100 INR (Supplying Plant)
Margin Account - Cr - 10 INR (Supplying Plant)

Satellite Server traffic v Primary Server traffic

I recently did a packet trace on a workstation and noticed a lot of traffice going to the primary servers and not just the satellite server.
I have a 10.3.3 environment with Windows 2003 servers and Full SQL 2005. A Windows XP workstation as a satellite server. That satellite server has Content, Authentication and Collection configures. It also has a Closest Server Rule set to a CIDR /16 IP address.
I am not sure why, but the workstation seems to hit the primary server first and even another primary server second. Then during login it does seem to hit the satellite server a bit but it hits the primary server just as much and like I said earlier it seems to hit another primary server that isn't configured for that site. I do have content on all Primary servers so I understand it hitting these servers some, but during authentication and during content retrieval I am confused at why it wouldn't be smacking the satellite server to no end and not the primary servers.
I need to make sure I have satellite servers and primary server configured correctly due to connection issues. Please, any help on configuration would be appreciated. Thanks.

Two SharePoint server Farms using different configuration databases with same content DB's

Hi everyone,
I am having strange problem while cloning the environments for SharePoint 2007 farm. We cloned the WFE and DB servers with different names. When the configuration wizard has run pointing to the new DB server for complete the new FARM, The config is pointed
to the new Database server but the content databases remains same as old. This makes the production and cloned sites pointed to the same content.
How can this be possible to have a SharePoint farms with separate config DB's and same content DB's. Please advise and now the search service in the production is also broken.

Hi,
This is one reason why you should always use SQL Aliases when configuring SharePoint
Stop the SharePoint Services, you can use Server Manager on the WFE
From the command line
Enter CLICONFG
Highlight TCPIP, Click Enable
Click on the Alias Tab, and Click Add
Click the TCPIP Radio Button
Enter the (Old Database Server Name) in the Server Alias Box
Enter the (Cloned Database Server Name) Server Name in the Server Name Box
Uncheck, Dynamically Assign
Enter Port 1433, and Click OK. Make sure on your new SQL Server that you don't have an inbound rule blocking Port 1433.
On the new Cloned Server WFE start the SharePoint Services
Run IISReset
On The WFE and the App Server. Start the SharePoint Services, you can use Server Manager
I would normally test this by stopping the SQL Service on the Old Server and login to SharePoint on the Cloned Server...

Two materials with same material code

There are 2 components of a split AC, say Indoor unit and outdoor unit.
Now we purchase the two materials with the same material code.
Once an order is received, these two units are picked and sold. For easy identification, both the materials are procured under the same material code,
However, this does not give any visibility on the actual stock status of each component. So we have decided to have two different material codes.
When these are sold, we want to be able to use a BOM that will bind these two materials. However, there is no production activity involved. This will help us in printing the Header material on all documents like say Excise Invoice (Split AC Model 4354 - 1 EA)
Is there a possibility in SAP to attain this ?

you are not going to create two material codes in case of split valuation.

Single excise registraction to two excise registration with same company code

Dear all,
Our customer is using single excise registraction now with three plants and one company code and doing STO between the plants with shipping (641/101). We have implemented SAP with the above scenario. (SAP ECC 6.4 implementation with TAXINN procedure)
Now, the excise registraction is splitted into two, out of three plants, two plant comes under one excise registration and remaining one plant comes under another registration.still all the three plants are under the same company code only.
Need your help on what are all the changes interms of process and configurations

You have to define customer, vendor option but without account aspect.
Following are the steps in STO between a plant ( seperate Excisable units)
You will create an STO ( Purchase order from Receiving plant)
1: Create Delivery and excise invoice on the basis of performa invoice ( in performa invocie no accounting entry) Excise register will be updated on the basis of this not account entry would be as below:
Delivery: ( movement type 641)
Stock at receiving plant Dr to
Stock at Sending palnt
You would be following standard cost incase of SFG and FG. so materail valuation would on same basis and there may be valuation difference.
Excsie invoice generation:
Excise Clearing account Dr To
Excise Duty payable
Excise Duty Cess Payable
Excsie Duty hCess Payable
At receiving palnt you would receive material through MIGO no account entry will be generated only physical receepi of material.
Capture the excise in J1iex wrt to excsie challan.

I have a problem that with session............
when we logged in one site with our username and password, and
then i try to log in same site with other username and password in another browser
then how to know is there any browser is open with any other username and password in the same site.
I want to give this checking in the client side.....

You could use cookies, but this will only allow you to detect multiple uses of the same browser like two instances of IE. This won't work if you are using IE and you open another different browser such as Firefox.
I think you are out of luck :)

Is it possible to add items back with same item code if deleted through SQL

My client has completely revised the item master. So about 1000 items are needed to be removed from the item master. As it will be tedious to remove it one by one from SAP, first I tried doing this in the test database.
What I did was using a query I deleted the items groups wise as a bulk. But if I try to add any one of the deleted item back again with the same item code it is saying that the item already exists even if it is deleted from SQL. How to add the items?
There must be a solution for this.. Experts please help me ASAP in this situation.

It clearly says that the items already existing. I think you only delete from the OITM table, but items not only stored in this one table. Of course there are many other tables like ITM1..ITM9 or the financial tables.

Same Asset Creation with same Company code . (IFRS3 Standard)

My user wants to create another set of assets .
Scenario :
Existing asset.
(ex ) 1. 200001   Value 100000.00 $ company code "XXXX" .
New asset:
User wants to create another Asset .
(ex ) 2. 200001   Value 500000.00 $ company code "XXXX" .
1. With the same comapany code Is it possible to create the Asset with the same asset number 200001 with different asset value . 500000.00 $
2. The second asset which is created is just for the valuation Purpose for IFRS3 standards, so it shouldnt post to that company code while we do the depreciation. Just I need the depreciated value to compare with the first asset 200001(1) .

Problem when deploying on tomcat two applications with same appmodule name

We have deployed two different adf-uix applications to a tomcat application server.
Each of the two applications has one application module, the two application modules have the same name. This seems to cause a conflict between the two applications.
After starting the application server, we can run first the application 'A' and then the application 'B' or viceversa, every time the first application works and the second doesn't. When running the second application we get messages like 'table or view doesn't exist'.
Having the application modules with different names seems to solve the problem, but it seems not so easy to change the application module name on an existing and rather complex application.
Any suggestion? Please help.

I had the same problem and the only way to solve it was to change the app module name.

Additional firefox window opens with "dangerous site"

Twice, in the last week, an additional Firefox window opened in the tray, which, when opened, indicated it was a "dangerous site." I have discovered that, since these events, I have lost at least one log-in (my cookies are not disabled). Microsoft Security Essentials indicates everything is clean. Do you have any idea what may have caused an extra browser window to open & place itself in the tray with a dangerous site inside??
