CAS servers became unresponsive while applying rollup 7
When I applied rollup 7 to a CAS/Hub server, it became unresponsive for several minutes. Users in outlook were disconnected from their mailboxes, and some still hit the bad server on closing/reopening outlook.
Is there an easy way to take a CAS server "out of the loop" while applying the rollup?
You need to remove the server from the load balancer pool *BEFORE&* you start doing maintenance on it.
Do this via the various management interfaces that the LB device has - web UI, command line or fat client.
There is nothing in Exchange 2010 that will do this for you. It needs to be done on the load balancer.
Cheers,
Rhoderick

My screen became unresponsive to scrolling while i was using google.
While i was trying to download some software from one of the poker sites, the scrolling feature became unresponsive and the screen sort of went dim. Any thoughts, i've only had the ipad for about a week?
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
OWA 2013 Redirect to CAS Servers 2010 Randomly
Hello there!!
I think my case is not a problem, I just need a workaround or some fine adjustment to serve my needs. Follow my scenario:
One Exchange 2013 Server (CU3) with Mailbox and CAS role (coexisting with the 2010 Servers, ready for migration)
Two Exchange 2010 CAS Servers SP3 no rollups
Two Exchange 2010 Mailbox Servers SP3 no rollups (in a DAG)
I have two organizations who share the same exchange infrastructure, just using different smtp address, for example, some users use @yyy.com addresses and others use @zzz.com. We have two CAS servers just to use two different and customized OWA layouts (with
distinct OWA Internet addresses), one for @yyy.com users and other for the @zzz.com users
Also, I have the following database organization:
DB01 - @yyy.com mailboxes - 2010
DB02 - @zzz.com mailboxes - 2010
DB03 - @zzz.com mailboxes - will migrate to 2013
I need to do a partial migration to Exchange 2013, which is to migrate all mailboxes from DB03 database to Exchange 2013,
which will use the owa address for the @zzz.com addresses (We will point it to the new 2013 server).
The problem is that when users from DB02 try to use the 2013 OWA (@zzz.com), Exchange will bring up one of the 2010 OWA interfaces, sometimes the yyy.com customized interface and sometimes the zzz.com customized interface, and I need them to use just
the zzz.com interface.
There is any way that I can force Exchange 2013 to redirect the 2010 OWA users from a specific database to a specific CAS server? I found the command "Set-MailboxDatabase "Database Name" -RpcClientAccessServer EX2010-1.domain.local"",
but this work only for internal use (Outlook over RPC)
Best Regards FolksHi,
Firstly, I’d like to explain, the property RpcClientAccessServer shows the CAS server which mailbox connects to. It applies to all users and has no influence on OWA redirection. Because this value determines the location of the RPC end point and OWA request
use HTTPS protocol.
As far as I know, when there are many CAS Servers with same version in the same site, we couldn’t determine the CAS server which OWA request will redirect to.
Maybe we can take advantage of Proxy: proxy request from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010 and "disable" redirection:

If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks,

Error while applying patch 3384350
Hi all,
I'm receiving the following error while apply patch 3384350 (Supply Chain Management Family Pack J 11i.SCM_PF.J) to an 11.5.9 instance.
from adpatch.log:
The following Oracle Forms objects did not generate successfully:
inv forms/US INVTDILT.fmx
from worker log:

I have a SR open, but thought I would ask here as well in case anyone else had ran into this issue. There was only 1 direct hit on metalink for this error and it provided no solution and it's bug # link was not accessible to the public.
thanks in advance,

Hi,
I am upgrading our EBS 11i database (9.2.0.5.0) to 9.2.0.8.0 by following note : 216550.1 (Interoperability Notes Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0)).
I have installed Opatch 2617419 and then installed 6880880 (p6880880_101000_WINNT.zip) (OUI patch).
While applying Windows patch 6 (5916268) ,using opatch I am getting the following error:
OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception while trying to check for Mini Patchset
Cannot check bug/file conflict and component prerequisite checks.
ERROR: OPatch failed during prerequisite check.
OPatch returns with error code = 150
Any help to resolve the issue is appreciated.
I saw note +'OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception While Trying to Check for Mini Patchset' while applying patch using opatch 1.0.0.0.x [ID 971783.1].+
There are no '&' in the inventory file. There are a lot of '<'. I dont know if this note is applicable.
Thanks

Error while applying leave request though poratl
Hi All,
In portal Employee is unable to apply any leave. The system is giving the error message as
"As per policy, Casual Leave cannot be taken for more than 1 working day consecutively,
Please utilise Privilege leave for this purpose. In case you do not have Sufficient PL balance, Please apply for LOA."
But when trying to raise a "Privilege/ Sick" leave , he is still getting the same message.
So he is not able to raise any kind of leave.
So can anyone please suggest a solution.
Regards,
Muni.Hi Binu,
It is a Std error which you r getting in the system while maintaining EL on that day. Is 07.03.2012 is a paid holiday ?? Then it will give the same error while applying the leave on that day...
You need to check the Holiday class for that abs type in the system.

Premiere Pro CC 2014 very unresponsive while rendering on background with Adobe Media Encoder
Usually while I eddit videos on Premiere, I'm rendering on the background with AME. Or at least I used to. Some time ago, this process suddenly stopped working, as rendering on the background bagan to make Premiere really unresponsive, and quite impossible to work with. I couldn't think of any change I made other than switching my HDD, and I blamed it on that (it made sense because new HDD is one of those WD Green ones, a little worse than my old Seagate one). So I adapted to just queueing everything and start rendering when I was done edditing. But yesterday I installed a 240gb Kingston HyperX SSD, re-installed Windows and the main apps on it, and tried again, hoping to see an improvement. Now I was storing the original media on the HDD, running OS, Premiere and AME on the SSD, and rendering to the HDD. It did not work. Premiere still became slow while I rendering with AME. So I thought it might get better if the HDD was not reading and writing at the same time, and I switched the original media to the SSD, while still rendering to the HDD. Also didn't help. I don't know why this setup suddenly does not work, and I really need to fix it.
My setup:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz
12GB of RAM
nVidia GeForce GTX 560 (yes, drivers are up to date)
Dual monitors (one for Premiere workspace and one for a bigger program monitor)
2TB WD Green HDD where I keep most of my junk (and media files)
240GB Kingston HyperX SSD where I run the OS and important apps (Premiere and AME included)
I'm running Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 (8.1.0 build) and AME CC 2014 (8.1.0.122 build)Hi chriscorrell,
Thank you for posting on Adobe forums.
Upgrading your OS might be a good idea because Premiere CC 2014's OS requirement is OS X 10.8.

Firefox hangs (becomes unresponsive) when accessing many sites including Gmail. Eventually, when hung, Firefox will throw up a window saying "WARNING: A script has become unresponsive" or, in the case of Gmail, the page itself will say "Some Gmail features have failed to load due to an internet connectivity problem."
IE8 and Google Chrome are working normally. I've tried Firefox in safe mode, re-installing and even running Firefox portable from a USB thumb drive. Each time with the same result—Firefox hangs or becomes unresponsive while it waits for most pages to load or run scripts.

At first we thought that it was a Javascript problem until we noticed this log. The key words are 'Block' and 'FlashPlayerPlu'. This problem recently started for us, perhaps with a software push 1-2 weeks ago. Internet Explorer does not hang when accessing pages with Flash.
The Flash page does eventually load after a long time. However, since the whole browser hangs for a while, for the most part having the Flash plugin enabled makes Firefox unusable if accessing pages with Flash.
Disabling the Flash plugin solves the hanging problem, but I do not know what is causing the problem, nor do I know when a combination of Windows 7, Flash, and Symantec will work. Your later version of Symantec shows that we might have the problem for a while, but I do not know what customization CSC did with Symantec. My coworker did run a complete virus scan, uncovering nothing. Another co-worker is running Windows XP. She does not have the problem, but I do not know what other versions of software she is running.

Hi,
we have following problem. We have a mixed multi-domain one-forest AD environment. We also have still a mixed exchange 2007 / 2013 environment. We also have different CAS Servers for 2007 SP3 (RU15) and 2013 (CU8) in europe and one 2007 SP3 (RU15) CAS Server
in China, because of bad connection to Europe. For the Migration to 2013 in Europe we installed a wildcard-certificate *.xyz.com and used the Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName msstd:*.xyz.com, so the wildcard certificate is accepted. Everything in
Europe works fine, inside and outside also between exchange 2007 and 2013 (both CAS Server 2013 and 2007 use the same wildcard certificate). But since the change of the Set-OutlookProvider EXPR we are facing problems with our CAS Server in China, because this
server has a different non-wildcard certificate and a different domain name (cas-server.xyz-china.com instead xyz.com). Now we have the problem that this Chinese CAS server the Outlook Anywhere does not work anymore and prompts always for the username. As
I see it is because of the EXPR change. Is it possible to set the the Outlook-Provider EXPR per Cas-Server ? (They also have their own Autodiscover on this front-end server). Because I see that the Outlook-Provider can only be stored forest-wide.
If not the other solution would be to register the chinese cas server in our xyz.com domain and use the same wildcard certificate on this system right ?
Any help would be appreciate….Yes setting the EXPR value is most likely the cause of your issue. When you set this value you are telling Outlook to only accept connections from connections that have the cert with the subject name you specify here.
Unfortunately, based on my experience I believe this is an organization wide setting and cannot be configured on a CAS by CAS basis (If I'm wrong someone please keep me honest :)).
So the only option would you have is to change all the URLs to be on *.xyz.com domain. There's no need to change the domain the server actually resides on. The other option would be to purchase a UCC Cert with all the names you need and apply
to all your CAS servers and reset the EXPR value.

Problem while applying configuration to SCE 8000 using SCE-API
We are facing an issue while applying service configuration to SCE 8000 device using SCE API supplied by CISCO.
We have sample .pqb file which we are using to upload to SCE 8000. We are using 3.5.5 version of firmware on SCE.
Attached is exception file which contains sample .pqb and trace log that we see when we apply configuration. Please note, that we are using RHEL5 platform, JDK 1.5.0_1 and standalone java program to apply configuration on SCE using API

at com.elitecore.pm.SCEConfiguration.main(SCEConfiguration.java:461)You are likely hitting CSCtb94072.
The policy file should be manipulated by development engineer.
Please open a case with TAC and ask the CSE to fix the policy (by getting development engineer assistance).
Once you have the fixed policy PQB file perform the following CLI procedure on all SCEs on which the problem was observed:
SCE2000>enable
Password:
SCE2000#cd engage
SCE2000#delete MYENGAGE.PQB
SCE2000#rename MYENGAG1.PQB MYENGAGE.PQB
SCE2000#
Once done you should be able to apply the fixed policy without any issue.
Note: after performing the above CLI procedure, you can also successfully retrieve the policy,
however, you must avoid doing it since the retrieved poilcy would not be the last applied one, it would be the penultimate one which you probably don't want to use.
After applying the fixed policy, you should be able to retrieve policy successfully with no fear.
====
This is more of a clarification regarding the workaround procedure:
To get you better understand the issue.
The last policy applied to the SCE successfully is kept under the SCE "/engage" directory by the name MYENGAGE.PQB
The penultimate applied policy is also kept there under the name MYENGAG1.PQB
When the SCA-BB GUI applies a policy it first verifies the matching SCA-BB and PP version by inspecting this MYENGAGE.PQB file.
If the file has the corruption dealt in this defect, the apply will fail with the message of the kind:
"Client version 3.5.5 PP18 is different than SCE version 0.0.0 PP0, therefore apply is not allowed"
The MYENGAG1.PQB is the penultimate applied policy and it's not corrupted, renaming it MYENGAGE.PQB will assure us that the apply operation won't fail when verifying the versions are matched.
Alternatively (for the renaming procedure) user may copy the fixed policy file into the SCE disk space under /engage directory and name it MYENGAGE.PQB, then the apply should also work fine. -
Exclude Weekends and Holidays while applying for leave...
Hi,
Could anyone help me out in excluding holidays while applying for leave via absence management (employee self service) in R12? While clicking on calculate duration it includes weekends as well by default. Since updating the formula BG_ABSENCE_DURATION will involve creating UDTs, modify UDF and additional effort; I tried creating workschedulle and updated the profile HR: Schedule Based Absence Calculation to 'Yes' following the metalink note 'Schedule Based Absence Calculation in Self Service' [ID 437083.1] but no luck. Is there any other additional setup that needs to be done or its better to update Fast Formula. Kindly advise on the same. Thanks in Advance!!!
Thanks,
AhmedThanks much Gaurav. I was able to work it out by creating work schedule itself. I reckon I missed out selecting the schedule pattern. We need to ensure that after creating schedule the pattern needs to be selected and launched. After a while it gets effected in the system. Just in case if others are trying to implement work schedule for working days between Saturday to Wednesday following are the step involved. I have created two schedule pattern with day start as 1 and day stop as 4; and another pattern with day start as 7 and day stop as 7. It works like charm....:)

Ahmed
