Case connections for MS 5185

I downloaded the user manual for my 5185 board, but the pins in the manual are different than mine ( I have 16 pins, the manual has 18).  Does anybody know how I can tell which ones to use?  Is it safe to just try out different combinations?

I have the exact same board here. The manual gives the pinout for JFP2 (18 pins, pins 2,9, and 11 missing). The board has only JFP1 populated (16 pins, pin 2 missing). There does not appear to be a 1:1 correspondence between the pins.
By trial and error, I have identified pin 5 as being related to the power switch. I'm still looking for the reset switch and speaker pins.
Anyone else run into this?

  • Jfp1&2 case connections

:think:I am searching for info on a mod. MS 5185 VER 1 Mo Bo. It has a socket 7 with a AMD K6 PRC. My problem lies in my case connections. all the manuals I've looked at and all the postings I've looked at, mention connectors JFP1 and JFP2. All this board has is 8 sets of pins with # 2 pin missing at the loc. JFP1 and no pins at all at JFP2. I have no idea where to connect anything. Any help you all could give me would be great! Thanks much, Chuck

I did find it is some computer co. in Fremont, CA. and finding anything about that did not go far. Did you try using a mag. glass to see if anything is printed on the board where the pins are? If not you more than likely will have to figure it out from the front panel connecting cable from the old case which is probably 8 to 10 years old.
An old AMD K6 PC is hardly worth bothering with though. I'm sure you have your own good reasons for taking the effort.

    Hello Rajendra,
Good to hear from u. Let me try to give a soln for this problem of yours.
I think probably the logon group has not been specified in the backend. If thats the case then do the following:
Connect to the backend server for which you are trying to create the JCO. Run the transaction SMLG. It will show u the existing logon groups. carry out the following steps if the 'PUBLIC' group is not present in the list of logon groups.
Click on the create button. In the pop-up, type the logon as 'PUBLIC'. For the instance, select the F4 help and choose the existing instance number. Click on copy and click save. Try running the transaction /nsmlg and now it should show the logon group 'PUBLIC'.
When you create the JCO connection, it should now show the logon group 'PUBLIC'.
    Regards,
    Prathamesh.

  • Can no longer connect for audio or video chat : Error -8 drama

I've been video and audio chatting to Europe for quite some time with no problem. After installing a new modem (Motorola Surfboard SB5101) I'm now getting the dreaded Error -8 and can not connect for either audio or video. Text works fine.
I've poked around the forums and see some similarities with problems other users are having, but I have to assume my issues have something to do with the new modem, since I've been using audio/video chat for so long without a hassle.
I went through all the usual steps as mentioned in other threads: Firewall is off, Quicktime streaming changed to T1, tried changing the port to 443... Nothing works.
    I'm using OSX 10.4.10
    iChat AV 3.1.8(v445)
Modem goes to an Airport Express which is wired to my desktop computer.
I get the same results from my MacBook Pro as I do with my desktop so it's not a computer issue.
Upon inviting or being invited the wheels spin a moment and then I get a message saying I left the chat.
    And the report is this:

    Hi Brian,
I am not sure the Surfboard routes either.
It is not in this list http://portforward.com/routers.htm which is where we start for most people.
A little of what we are talking about.
DHCP is a way that so called server in routing devices hands out IP addresses.
You Mac will be getting one from the Airport.
You can look it up on your Mac in System Preferences > Network.
Pick the connection method from the second drop down and then the TCP/IP tab in the next section.
The IP is listed, Whether is asking for a DHCP given IP, A Subnet Mask, DSN servers (if your lucky) and the "router" IP
With an Airport Router you are likely to get an IP that starts 10.0.1.x and the "Router" is at 10.0.1.1
If connected direct to the modem the the "router" is the modem. In the case of some cable connections it will pass through the Public IP given to you by the ISP
On the whole Cable modems do not route but it is not exclusive.
IF it does not route and you connect directly to it then the IP will show may be you Public IP seen here http://myip.dk/
    Next bit.
Now all ports below the number 1024 are normally open in all routers and modems that route.
Web browsing and Mail apps tend to use ports below this figure which is why any routing device will work and get you on the Net no matter how they are set up.
Applications like IM ones like iChat and On-line games use ports above this 1024 threshold and as a consequence need ports to be allowed or opened.
    Next Bit.
Certain apps like iChat like the LAN and the ports open to be very Linear. In fact iChat is fussy about how many times it has to go through devices that all do NAT Based methods of opening the ports.
These methods are Port Forwarding, Port Triggering and DMZ (which is an extreme form of Port Forwarding).
Because of the way routers allow the routing and Addressing info through even from another routing device then the computer can have two IP address (one from the modem and one from the Router).
See the Second pic This means the computer sits in two subnets on your LAN.
The normal way of telling this in an iChat log is to look for the change in ports that showed up in your Log.
SO far the above infers what you can do using System Preferences > Network to find out if both device are routing.
I am not sure that the surfboard is.
I think the idea that the ISP is doing something to the packets is the problem.
Read the whole of this page http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page4.html if you want to know more. It starts with the Mac Firewall but goes on to the stuff listed above.

  • Can't Create the ODBC connection for Oracle 10g

    Hi,
I am working with Oracle 10g Database Release 2 in windows XP professional. I am trying to create an ODBC connection for oracle but become failure because its generating the following errors:
    system error code 998
could not locate the setup or translator library
Please help me how can I solve this problem and create the ODBC connection for oracle 10g database.

could not locate the setup or translator libraryThe symptom described is typical of an incorrect system env PATH setting (used by the data source admin tool), compared to that of the Oracle Home (specifically, path $OH/bin). The odbc driver config routine will search directories listed in PATH variable for necessary libraries (Client dll's). If some library fails to load (from e.g. oraoci*.dll or oraclient10.dll) it will probably error out, as in your case.
Are you creating the odbc dsn on the databse server host or on some other machine? I.e. are you using the db host as a client or not?

  • Minimum connection for external hard drive

Hopefully this is the correct subdepartment for this question.
I'm shopping for an external hard drive to which I'll be saving and storing movies and digital videos. The playback method will be a Powerbook G4 (15-inch FW800 1.5GHz) running DVD Player connected with composite cables to a TV -- any TV.
I'm searching for best value in terms of GB per dollar in the 300GB range. There are so many variables, but I think connection type is biggest factor. Are the USB 2.0 drives fast enough for what I need or would FW800 be a more reasonable minimum? Are there other more important factors?
    2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   23"17"PB15

Here's a portion of what I posted to a similar question. First, regarding FW400 vs FW800, if I were going to be reading data off a FW connection for immediate usage as you described, I'd want to use the fastest connection possible, FW800. From the other post....
A Western Digital 320 gb external enclosure (USB/FW 400) goes for around $200. However, all have one year warranties.
Another option, assemble your own, requires the hard drive and case: A 320 gb Western Digital, with a 5 year warranty, 7200 rpm ultra ATA interface (you can't use a serial ATA interface with a pre-Oct PB), cost for the drive around $140. They also make drives for a few bucks less with 3 year warranties. I prefer Western Digital drives over Seagate drives, as I've found them to run cooler.
Add a Rosewill RX30 external case (includes power supply and USB/FW 400) $60. This brushed aluminum case looks like it was made to sit right next to our PB's (I've got one). You can see it at their web site at http://www.rosewill.com/product/product.aspx?productId=80 or also at Newegg at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817173003. So for $200, you can have a 320gb hard drive with a 3 to 5 year warranty, and a stunning case. If you want, the Rosewill case also comes with FW800 for another $35.
Assembling it is very easy - you can read the directions on Rosewill's site at http://www.rosewill.com/RosewillSoftware/RX30_eng.pdf , for example. You disassemble the case by taking out 4 screws on the bottom of the Rosewill case, plug the included plug into the hard drive, secure the hard drive with 4 screws to the case, and reassemble it.

  • Accept/Deny incoming network connection for apps already accepted/denied

i am constantly getting the dialog box to allow/deny incoming network connections for applications that i launch on my MBPro, even though these programs have already been allowed or denied. this causes multiple entries for the same applications in my firewall advanced list. each time i accept or deny, a new entry of the same program is added to the list. as an example, for Excel i have 5 entries - 2 that allow incoming connections, 3 that deny. the same goes for apps like itunes, word, nleac, and others.
if i delete these extra entries, they just get added to the next time i launch the program.
i've tried the remedy suggested by the macfixit forum (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10330466-263.html) of deleting the firewall preference file "com.apple.alf.plist" and performing a disk permission under Safe Mode - didnt help.
looking for new suggestions. incidently, this wasnt always the case and other than upgrading to snow leopard, i cant specifically recall a change that started this problem.

i've been doing that for some time now, as this problem has been going on for months. even after i delete all of the programs that have multiple listings (and the key word there is ALL because basically every program that wants access has multiple listings here) the list gets re-populated the next/every time i launch that application. even if i later deny an application's request after accepting previously, they'll be multiple listings for that app - including listings to Allow and listings to Deny - for the the same app!!!

  • How to close a model object connection for Adaptive RFC?

    Hi,
I'm calling two update RFC one after another in a single WebDynpro program. I like to close the session/connection after calling the first RFC. I'm using twp separate JCo connection for calling these two RFCs. Still I find both the RFCs are called in the same session.
Is there any way to close the JCo session from the code?
    Thanks ,
    Dipankar

    Hi Dipankar
If you want the framework to control the opening and closing of the connections , then use TASK_SCOPE when initializing the modelobjects ,in which case the connection will remain open, for the lifecycle of a single call.
The intialization should be as below
    (CompanyCodeList is your model object)
    CompanyCodeList compCode = (CompanyCodeList)WDModelFactory.getModelInstance(CompanyCodeList.class, WDModelScopeType.TASK_SCOPE);
    Bapi_Companycode_Getlist_Input bapIn = (Bapi_Companycode_Getlist_Input) compCode.createModelObject(Bapi_Companycode_Getlist_Input.class);
    wdContext.nodeBapi_Companycode_Getlist_Input().bind(new Bapi_Companycode_Getlist_Input());

  • [JTA_Start_0]Exception getting connection for Oracle DB

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem when I am going to insert data in a table (Oracle DB) using JTA Command Action block. I have deployed  the Oracle JDBC driver and Configured the data source in http://<server<:port>>/nwa->Configuration Management -> Infrastructure.  But when I am trying to insert data using the JTA Command Action block for inserting data in a table it is throwing error.I am running with XMII 12.1 SP5 and Oracle 11g.
    Here is the error details.
[ERROR] [JTA_Start_0]Exception getting connection for jdbc/ODS_ORACLE_SBX was ResourceException occurred in method ConnectionFactoryImpl.getConnection(): com.sap.engine.services.connector.exceptions.BaseResourceException: Cannot get connection for 0 seconds. Possible reasons: 1) Connections are cached within SystemThread(can be any server service or any code invoked within SystemThread in the SAP J2EE Engine) or they are allocated from a non transactional ConnectionFactory. In case of transactional ConnectionFactory used from Application Thread there is an automatic mechanism which detects unclosed connections, 2)The pool size of adapter "ODS_ORACLE_SBX" is not enough according to the current load of the system . In case 1) the solution is to check for cached connections using the Connector Service list_conns command or in case 2), to increase the size of the pool.
Note: ODS_ORACLE_SBX is the Data source name which I have configured.
If I increase the min pool size from 0 to 5 or more than 0 then Data source is getting red means not Available.
    Can anybody provide any help.
    Thanks in advance

You set up your Oracle DB connection by following the path 'xMII Menu -> Data Services -> Data Servers -> New'.

  • How to setup a tip connection for KSLD

    Hi, all
I want to set up a tip connection between two sun workstations
    for KSLD.
The type of the machine is SUN Blade 100, it only has 1 serial port,
the two machines are the same type.
I connected the two machine's serial port with a bougnt serial line(
with 2 DB9 female connectors). Then I modified the /etc/remote
file on one machine(the local), modified the 'hardwire' line from
the default '/term/b' to '/term/a'. And then typed 'tip hardwire' on
the local machine, it echoed 'connected', then it diplayed nothing,
even though I typed the return again and again.
But if I type '~?', it can echo the help list, and type '~.', it can exit.
Is the above phenomenon right? How can I know the tip connection
is established? Shouldn't it display 'Login' after it display 'connected'?
I also tested the other case.
The config of the two machines is as above. I typed 'tip hardwire'
on the local machine, and I removed the keyboard and display from
the other machine(the remote), then I switched on the remote machine.
And the console output of the remote machine appeared on the
    local machine's tip window.
Does this mean the serial cable is ok?
If someone tell me the detail of how to set up a tip connection between
2 sun workstations, I will be very appreciated.
By the way, I establish the tip connection for the KSLD, if you know
something about KSLD, please also tell me.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Is the above phenomenon right? How can I know the tip connection
is established? Shouldn't it display 'Login' after it display 'connected'?
To display login at the tip connection you can do one of the following.
    1. remove the keyboard and reboot with a tip connection.
    2. at ok> set the output-device input-device as ttya
    setenv output-device ttya
    setenv input-device ttya
    reset.
Note: the same can be done from a teminal/console using eeprom command.(man eeprom)
To get back the display and keyboard access during bootup
you will have to reset input/output device values back to the default values
    setenv output-device display
    setenv input-device keyboard
    3. Add the following to the /etc/inittab file
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    c5:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` ttya login: " -T sun -d /dev/ttya -l console -m ldterm,ttcompat
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Please save the original copy ..
"init q " (to make the inittab file to be read again)
    4. using admintool -->Browse->Serial ports->Select ttya->Service Enable->Ok->Exit.
For KSLD setting the output-device and input-device is the best option.
KSLD is EOL (End of Life) so product support will not be available.

  • How to disable network connections for an application

    Hi to all,
I would like to know if there is any way a user can disable network connections for a specific application.
    Thank you,
    Xwang

Yes, but I would like to block only a specific application, not all the traffic from the PC.
I've found this "solution" which uses iptables on the net:
"Add a group to your system (I use nonet myself), then add a rule to your output chain like this: -A OUTPUT -m owner --gid-owner nonet -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-net-unreachable Run the program for which you know in advance that you want to block, with sg (sg nonet "your_prog your_args")."
Do you think is it right?
Another suggestion was to use unshare to call the program disabling the net for that program only.
The problem is that unshare is runnable only by root so, in case, I should turn on its setuid flag in order to execute the program as a normal user, but I don't know if it is safe to do that.

  • After installing the 8.1 update the Internet Sharing won't allow any devices to stay connected for more than a few hours.

Internet sharing is turned "on" and appears to be working, but really isn't. Locking the screen, restarting, or a hard reboot helps, but it is extremely aggravating not to be able to maintain a connection for more than a few hours at a time!

Thank you so much for the info! I apologize for having asked for your device model as that is the forum you posted to. Also, I know that we've set the expectation that the device will remain connected as long as a demand for signal flows through it, but that may not be entirely the case. After a period of constant use, any device (including the Lumia 822) may require or force itself to stop.
You've mentioned that the device will freeze after a few hours usage. Is the device also connected to the charger while being used as a hotspot? If so, do you notice the device getting warmer than it normally would be?

  • How to solve poor internet connection for iPad New due to bugs or glitch in ios6

I m using iPad New with ios6 version. Since the upgrade I m facing a very serious internet connection for my ipad. Its worthless to have ipad when there is no internet connection or having difficulty to get the connection. Can someone give me some advice even up to the stage if downgrading to the previous version which is known to be working very well.

First, presumably your WiFi network is connected to the Internet right? However, even if so, you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset your router. Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.
