Case design guidelines missing corners/radius dimensions

Trying to design cases for iPhone 5 and 5c. Most dimensions are outlined clearly in Apple's case design guidelines. But the corner radiuses are conspicuously missing. Seems all the community advice I find is to measure it yourself... Being a risk averse perfectionist, I am looking for something more precise, if available. It must be out there, and think it could help quite a few with same dilemma. Anyone?

    Hi,
is there a kind of document "Design Guidelines" like e.g. Java Look and Feel Design Guidelines ?

What are you designing? Clothing? Furniture?
For just about anything, there are usually all kinds of design guidelines. Each one completely different.

  • X240, T440 case design frustrations

It is difficult to sum up the frustration in dealing with this new X240 and T440 case design.  I can't believe I am no longer able to swap a hard drive or update memory without taking apart the case.  Replacing the keyboard is next to impossible where it used to take about 5-10 minutes on older models.
Yes, I realize this is a statement and not a question.  I hope the X250 and T450 have incorporated some of the older design features that made it easier to swap parts.
I will give Lenovo credit with the internal battery.  It is a very cool feature to be able to swap a battery on the fly.
    Solved!

  • ISG Debug - IP configuration missing for radius proxy session initiation

    Folks,
We are trying to configure the ISG as a Radius-Proxy for EAP Authentication. I have configured aaa server radius proxy, clients and aaa auth radius-proxy group as per the guide. I have my interface config as follows:
    interface TenGigabitEthernet0/2/0.205
    encapsulation dot1Q 205
    ip vrf forwarding CS
    ip address 10.20.0.1 255.255.224.0
    ip helper-address global 172.X.X.X
    no ip redirects
    no ip proxy-arp
    ip tcp adjust-mss 1420
    service-policy type control DEFAULT_RULES
    ip subscriber l2-connected
      initiator dhcp
      initiator radius-proxy
      arp ignore local
When I try to connect a wifi client to an AP, I can see that the AP is forwarding the Access-Request to the ISG but the ISG does not forward it to the AAA. In the ISG debug I see the following message:
RADIUS: IP configuration missing for radius proxy session initiation
Can any one help to identify what is missing here pls?
    Thank You in advance!

    Kiran,
Did you follow this guide? It looks like the interface configuration is there but you didnt include the actual radius configuration does it follow the guide here -

  • Due to the rumored heat problems with the iPad 3, is there a danger in using a leather case design for it.

I recently purchased a 64 GB Verizon LTE iPad,  along with a Bear Motion leather case designed specifically for that model. I've been reading a lot about the heat problems with the new iPad and although I haven't noticed them on mine, I'm worried that putting it in the case may cause worse problems. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Unless you have a defective iPad you should be fine.  The only time it should be heating up is when you're running an intensive app like a game that's working the quad-core processor and the screen.  I bought a Targus leather case for mine and play InfinityBlade2 on it and haven't noticed any heating issues with mine, but the part holding the iPad is plastic, so it can disipate heat better.
If your iPad gets too hot it'll warn you, so I'd use it for now and see what happens.  It'll shut down before it causes any permanent damage.

  • BFC Design guidelines

    Hi!
Can any body put some light on design guidelines availability? I tried to find documents related to BFC design guidelines but not able to find specific topic. Can any BFC project team member put some light on this topic?

  • MDD Case design differences ( early vs late models)

I noticed a change in the case design internal holes from the early MDD's to the later.
Why was the change done? Cost cutting or better cooling?
    See the pics:
    Early one:
    http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3524/3898824755_c915896f06.jpg
    Later designs:
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/3898824447_0d74e0d007.jpg
    Which is better?

Yeah, I know that you can set the samplerate there, you can do that on Windows too. But you don't know what the CODEC really does if you set it below 48kHz. The one in my PC does only some resampling to 48kHz.
There's a file on the net called "udial.ape". As iTunes can't handle Monkeys-Audio, you need some other player like VLC or MPlayer to use it.
If you hear some clear "dialing tones" while playing the file, there is no resampling. You'll hear some strange noises otherwise.
I'll test that later as I'm not in the right environment right now^^

  • Remote Access VPN Design Sizing Values with Radius or PKI Stress Test

    Hello,
We would like to guess about the maximum number of  Remote Access VPN Clients (IPSEC or SSL VPN). The Endpoint may be ISRG2 or ASA FW series.  In the attached documents, the maximum numbers are given as a general guideline, but we think this number may decrease if the Radius Authentication is used instead of Local User Authentication, or PKI is used. We don't want to underestimate or overestimate and design with a 20% Margin. Is there a testing done for these effects, wrt CPU, Memory or similar Router or Firewall Resources,  or  method we can test this?   If there is a tool or method that we may simulate a number of Remote Access VPN Clients simultaneously (i.e 500) for different Authentication scenarios? We have found that IXVPN from Ixia or Load Runner from HP may be helpful, but complex to configure and use.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/prod_brochure0900aecd80402e39.html
Devices include a license for two Premium VPN users for evaluation and remote management purposes. The total concurrent IPsec and SSL (clientless and tunnel-based) VPN sessions may not exceed the maximum concurrent IPsec session count shown in the chart. The SSL/IPsec IKEv2 VPN session number (clientless or AnyConnect client) may also not exceed the number of licensed sessions on the device. The ASA 5580 supports greater simultaneous users than the ASA 5550 at comparable overall SSL VPN throughput to the ASA 5550. VPN throughput and sessions count depend on the ASA device configuration and VPN traffic patterns. These elements should be taken in to consideration as part of your capacity planning.
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Import design objects - missing something

    Hi
I have two files with tpt extensions XI2_0_SAP_APPL_4.6C_48_01_classic.tpt and XI2_0_SAP_APPL_4.6C_48_01.tpt to import objects corresponds to rosettanet design objects I got from SAP market place. I did place them in respository_server/import directory as mentioned in the installation guide. When tried import object from integration builder it is not recognizing it. Why?
I am running XI3.0, is that the reason it is not recognizing XI2_0 objects?
Also I did try making them as tpz file after zipping the above files and did add a metadata.properties file containing below text
    transportFile=XI2_0_SAP_APPL_4.6C_48_02_classic.tpt
transportFile=XI2_0_SAP_APPL_4.6C_48_02.tpt, still it did not recognize it.
    What I am missing?
    help.. please..
    Dhandu

    Hi Dhandu,
Check if the metadata properties file contains the below entries: Most importantly the first one. (all are case-sensitive):
    systemtype=<b>IBC 3.0</b>
    sourcesystem=<host>_<sid>_00
    transportFile=<tptfilename>.tpt
    contenttype=DirectoryView
Also see that the properties file name is "<b>M</b>etadata.properties". It is case-sensitive, else it wont recognize.
Also note: when you zip the tpt file & properties file, see that they are at the root directory of the zip file. Open and see if the directory path is not taken.

  • InDesign GUI Design Guideline Document?

    Hi all,
I was asked for a GUI Guideline Documentation for InDesign product (plugin), I searched the SDK and the only thing I found close to this "ww-user-interface.pdf" =, I Just wondering if you aware of any other resource that describes gui elements, usage, ... for designing User Interface in InDesign.
    TA

Nothing in descriptive prose that I know of.
There are tools - The debug build has a palette with plenty live information, including the boss class in use. If I need more details I use an own plugin to iterate through the widgets and produce a dump.
Besides there is also the Eclipse based resource editor, but I prefer copy-paste from my own sources using computed exact dimensions rather than manually approximated layouts.
Sometimes I'd wish for icon templates - use that gradient angles and start/stop colors and transparency for a palette icon on that background...

  • Design option missing for Fluid Grid layouts (was:In dreamweaver CC, I created a new fluid grid page, but the options to edit the page...)

Hi, in dreamweaver CC, I created a new fluid grid page, but the options to edit the page are limited to code / split / live. The design optin is missing and I need it to move around the fluid grid to position my elements that I have created.
    Thanks

    Hi Raymi,
Like Ben suggested, you can vote for the feature using the link provided.  From what I understand, the product team is collecting feedback on the limitations of Live View for FG layouts and improving experience on that front. It would help if you could provide a list of limitations with the current workflow.

  • S.O.S. - The case of the missing TIme Capsule icon

I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro to a local network.
Our Macbook Air, iPad and three iPhones all have WiFi. No problem.
My Macbook Pro has solid black radiating bars in the main menu. In Airport Utility, it shows the "Internet Globe" with a green circle below. Below that, however all I get is a spinning wheel. At the same time, the Macbook Air shows the icon of the time capsule with a green circle below.
Is there a setting I am missing? Some said to turn off Mac Access, but I do not know where to do that. In System Preferences, Wi-Fi is green, and it says WiFi is connected.
I ran all of the maintenance (rebuilt Directory, optimized the drive, weekly/monthly scripts, etc) All of the hardware checks out.
Has anyone had this happen? Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Paul Kirtley

This is typical Yosemite.. please confirm OS on Pro and Air.. Yosemite,  has the network ability of a pair of tin cans with wet string. (that dried and snapped).
The odd thing of course is the MBP is on the internet.. but perhaps just too stupid to figure out the local network.
So here is the first few things to try.
    1. Factory reset the TC.. sounds odd when it is working already .. but please do the setup with the computer that is having the most trouble.
    Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
    2. After a reset it should suddenly show up as new device.. please run the setup utility from the pro.
Use short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. eg TCgenx and TCwifi. Base station and wireless names respectively.
    3. Use WPA2 Personal security only. Use pure alphanumeric mixed case and numbers password.
    4. If you have issues plug in by ethernet.
    5. Set ipv6 in network preference for wireless and if used, ethernet. to link-local only.
Tell me how this goes.. if it works in the pro you can then pick it up in the Air etc.

  • Video over ip design guideline

    Hi
I want some guideline for designing video over ip setup.
We have central monitoring system and multiple sites connected to central site.
Now sites will have cameras and alrm system.
Live videos will be recorded at sites.
Now this is BOD application where we will pass video may be voice
    and also data.
Central site may take archived data from sites at any time.
Now in such scenario what solution is best and cost-effective?
Whether DMVPN or MPLS/VPN or any other solution as we
require bod and not continuous dedicated bandwidth?
Pls let us know any document having such type of solutions.
    Regards
    Vaishali

What "flavor" of video over IP are you looking for?
If it's streaming video, then the Cisco IPTV would do the trick. There are four basic models: A control server, a broadcast server, an archive server, and a "starter kit" that can do all of the above, but with limited resources.
Do a site search for IPTV to get the docs & application info.
If you were looking for video conferencing, there are also several possibilities.
So, streaming video or conferencing? What's the application ?

  • IPhone case design suggestion

The leather cases for $39.95 are good and I have ordered one based on reader recomendations. But I suspect that if they are soft, leaning on them might accidentally activate a function on the iPhone (a freind of mine has already had trouble with this).
Hey Apple - howsabout designing one the same size and shape as the leather one, but as a HARD case - like some people have for their glasses? Leave only about 1-2mm space between the lid and the iPhone glass, so it stays slim, but also so that there is no possibility of accidentally activating the screen. Essentially it would be like a case for glasses - when you pop it open, you have the face of the iPhone in front of you. I think that would be awesome.
(Now Mr. Jobs - I KNOW you are honest enough to pay me a little bonus for this recommendation, if it goes into production... You and I have a mutual acquaintance - we've chatted before, but I don't expect you to remember me offhand with the thousands of things you have to take care of every day).
    Cheers!

Apple does not design, manufacture, nor put their brand on any cases manufactured by others. AFAIK, all iPhone cases are designed and manufactured by 3rd parties not associated with Apple.
