Case for macbook?

i've read a couple complaints here that the incase neoprene case has left stains on some people's white macbook....any recs out there for one that will protect my case without staining it?
thanks!

I have the same computer, and i had the Incase neoprene one you spoke f and it did leave marks. luckily, i had an Invisible SHield, a clear plastic sheet that covers and protects from any scratches. nothing can damage my computer behind this. and when i know my case wont leave any more marks, i'll take off my Invisible shield and I'll have a brand new computer! after that, you can put it in any other protective case without worry of your actual computer being stained.
My mom has a black macbook, and an incase with a strap as well as handles that can be put away, and the interior of the bag feels like fur. theres no neoprene anywhere on the bag, but it is very well padded/ It doesnt look like it would stain. See if you can find anything out about this when used with white macbooks.

  • Sleeves & Case for macbook.

What is the best Sleeve or Case for macbook?

There really is no "best" because it depends upon the user. I was never able to find exactly what I wanted so I had one made out of black thick flannel with a velcro envelope flap. Fits snug as a bug.
I also had a black soft canvas backpack with front pocket made in the same style. The backpack is three inches deep, 10 inches wide and 14 inches tall with a velcro envelope flap. The straps are the same canvas material only doubled and include a velcro chest strap to keep it all snug. The front pocket has room for the adapter, a mini-mouse, CD/DVD disks, and a few other things. The pack is just deep enough for the Blackbook and perhaps a half-inch thickness of papers like reports, patient records, letters, etc.
No matter where I looked I couldn't find anything like it. I wanted/needed something light to wear and easy to get in and out of quickly. Yes there are sleeves and backpacks but the sleeves were either too bulky, too gaudy, too stiff, and slapped with a large manufacturer's logo. Finding a simple comfortable soft laptop backpack is near impossible. I don't need to carry a folding tent, sleeping bag and camping stove on my back, just a slim 13" Blackbook.
I get compliments on the backpack all the time (and the sleeve too). If I had the time I would make up a dozen or so and offer them for sale. The pattern for the backpack, believe it or not, came from a Barbie doll pattern: "The Ken Doll Knapsack". I took it to a my elderly neighbor (a retired seamstress) and she used the pattern to create a larger modified version. The Ken Doll pattern called for a buckle closure and buckle adjusting straps and was much deeper. I asked for a velcro replacement and a slimmer casing to hold the Blackbook and a few papers.
So you see, there is no "best" for best is in the eye of the beholder. There are many offerings and look around before jumping off on the first or second sleeve you come across.

  • Trying to buy a protective case for MacBook Pro MD314B/A 13.3"

    Hi
It's my first message on here so hope someone can help me.  I've been an Apple user for three years now and absolutely love all of their products and currently have a MacBook Air, iPad 2 and iPhone 5.
I am trying to buy a protective cover/case for a friends son who is getting a MacBook Pro MD314B/A for his birthday but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to find one for that particular model, in all my searches (pretty exhaustive so far) all I seem to find are ones for the model A1278 none seem to be coming up for the MD314B/A model that I am wanting.
I only have that to go by as that is all I have been given by his mum who's pretty computer and Apple savvy so I presume it's the correct information, I just can't understand why I can't find one as I it was a doddle when I found a cover for my MacBook Air.
I know it is the 2011 model of MacBook Pro and really don't want to guess and order a wrong cover and disappoint someone on their birthday.
I hope someone can throw some light on how to make sure I find the right one, obviously I can't check on the MacBook itself as it is all boxed up ready for the big day.
    Many thanks to you all

Hi  Macsaregreat I found a company that does them the link is http://www.mrnutcase.com/en-GB/personalised-macbook-cover/ it is an actual hard plastic case for the top and bottom, I love mine came really quick as well.

  • Case for macbook unibody??

I have the Macbook unibody (aluminum with black keys) that ISN'T the pro and I've been looking everywhere trying to find a hard case for it. The only place I've found so far is www.mymacbookcase.com but the cases they have are plastic and I want to find one that's more rubber so it's less slippery. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hey Sarfitz,
Actually the unibody, aluminum with black keys may not be a macbook pro,
but has the same body as macbook pro.
you can go to mymacbookcase.com and buy the macbook pro case, and get the rubberize one.
there really nice, i have one my self, its beautiful quality case.
that will fit on your macbook, even though it aint pro, its the same body.

  • Protective sleeve/case for MacBook?

I'm getting a new MacBook for a client who tends to be rather rough on his equipment; his old iBook's case has a couple of chunks missing (he doesn't know how it happened). So I'm looking for some protection for the MacBook. He'll be carrying it in a backpack, so what's needed is some kind of padded, tough sleeve/case that fits the MacBook itself; no need for pockets for power adapter, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?

When I got my macbook I bought a sleeve off ebay :

But it depends really... If this client is careless with the hardware then you can also get outer casing that clips on

  • ZeroShock sleeve case for MacBook Pro is available...

In case anyone is looking for one, the ZeroShock sleeve case fitted for MacBook Pro is available at:
    http://shinza.com/productinfo.php?productsid=57
Although the manufacturer is Japanese, the product is apparently in inventory and shipped from their California warehouse.
I have ordered, but not yet received.
    Enjoy.

Ya the Biolithic is perfect for that application. I got one while my MBP was in for repairs so it's never been used. It comes with a screen protector, laptop bag, and peripherals bag. I can do $35 ($7 cheaper than if you bought from Biolithic) shipped, let me know if you're interested.
    Thanks,

  • Neoprene case for Macbook?

    Hi
Does anyone know if there are any decent Neoprene cases for the MacBook (uk). I like the look of the Incase ones for the MacBook Pro, but can't seem to find any for the MacBook.
    Cheers
    KM

Yeah, you shouldn't really use it in the case like that, even though it does show that you can do that on their website.
Anyway, this is another recommendation for the Bitolithic sleeve. Mine took less than a week to ship from Australia to the UK, and I'm very happy with it. The zip goes all the way around so you can remove the MacBook from the side or front, the blue is a nice complement to the white MacBook, and it feels well made. Great for protection from minor scratches if you are carrying your MacBook in a bag.
I posted some impressions when I first got it here:

  • Speck Case for Macbook

    Hello to all,
I was wondering if anybody is familiar with the Speck Case for the Macbook . I was thinking of getting one but I would like to know if anybody has one and let me know what do you think.
    Thanks

Hey you guys. I have the red Speck case on my C2D BlackBook. Let me tell you, it looks great!!! I haven't put any pics up but you can see how it looks on Amazon or ebay. There are absolutely no isseus. I use a notebook fan to keep my notebook cool and the vents on the case make for good cooling. The only issue I have is that I bought a maccase brand sleeve, which is my favorite type of sleeve that I used for my ibook, and the MacBook won't fit in that sleeve with the Speck case on. So I use the Incase that you find at the Apple store. The Speck case makes the MacBook look very unique and it also provides great scratch protection. I take the Speck case off every now and then, just to see how my MacBook is doing underneath and it looks the way I bought it a month ago. I definitely recommend it.

  • Speck See-Thru case for MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15 inch

Hi, I recently purchased the Speck See-Thru case for the MacBook Pro Retina. The case seems to fit very snugly and requires some degree of force to remove. The top half of the case proves to be more difficult than the bottom half. Is it normal that it takes some force to pop off the tabs of the case? I am probably over worrying but just want to make sure. Thanks

I have a Speck see-thru for mine and yes, they fit quite snugly. Probably to prevent a "rattling" feeling that would feel even worse. As time goes by and you inevitably have to take it off every so often to clean underneath, the snugness goes away.
Yes, in spite your best efforts, dust somehow finds its way in there and gathers in the corners which soon becomes unbearable and off it has to come. Guess that's the downside of transparency.   Maybe next time I'll get an opaque black model....

  • Help me find perfect slip case for macbook?

    Hello,
I want to buy a slip case for my macbook, and I was wondering if anyone knew of the perfect case. As far as I know a custom case has not been made available yet.
Will a 14" iBookG4 case work well with the macbook?

  • Aluminum cases for macbook

ive seen them around the web, but dont know where to find them. anybody have any ideas where to find an aluminum case for 13" macbooks?

    youbetcha
I have the clear Speck and I love it but it's plastic. It does the job of protection while leaving a great view of the beatiful white book. On the downside, it's a pain to remove to get to the battery.
    Good luck to you.

  • Hard case vs Rubberized hard case for Macbook Pro?

I'm looking at cases for my MBP 13" and was wondering which is prefereable - hard or rubberized? Also, are there any particular models that you all reccommend?
As for keyboard skins, which is the best (affordable) one? I type fast & hard and want to be sure my keys are protected. Thank you!

Cases of any sort hinder the MPB's cooling requirements. Get whatever you want but don't be surprised when it runs hot.
My Powerbook withstood over a decade of daily typing. The keys are fine. Just don't spill anything on it.

  • The Ultimate Case for Macbook Pro 17

I have just received my Zero Halliburton aluminium case for my MBP 17. All I can say is.....get one !!! What a perfect fit and match and the quality is the best.
Heres the link where I got mine and they shipped from US to UK by Fedex, no customs/VAT duties...and the customer service at luggage source was excellent. Immediately replied to emails etc
The model is the DZ7 by the way. I called the ONLY distributor in the UK, Harrods, and they have no stock (due to revised airline security and a demand for robust cases)...
I thoroughly recommend The Luggage Source.
    http://www.luggagesource.com/IBS/SimpleCat/Shelf/ASP/Hierarchy/0301.html

Well the restrictions have already been eased on BA & Virgin for luggage en route to the US. No longer we need to hand in the laptops for hold so it is not anymore the ultimate case , not everyone wants to walk around with a rather flashy briefcase !
