Case problems

Okay, so I have a MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherboard fitted with an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (socket 754) in my Thermaltake Soprano case. This case came with a panel with 1 firewire connection, 2 USB connections and a Mic/audio port.
The problem is, I can't get the USB or Firewire connection to work. The mic/audio ports are not connected to the motherboard or to a soundcard and the FireWire isn't connected to the motherboard. The USB cables are connected like they should be. (Doublechecked from the case and motherboard manual, had my brother (student/teacher in Åbo Akademi) check the connections too, but they don't work at all.
I can't find anything in the bios (AwardBIOS (I use version 1.7, found from MSI's website)) which would hint in the direction of "enable extra usb" or something.
So does anyone know if it's possible for me to get the panel to work?

i would guess that you just put in the connectors the wrong way around. usually, all the usb ports are enabled by default, either if they are on the mobo's I/O pannel or just as a connector on the mobo's PCB.

T410 lots of case problems

Hi, in advance i'm sorry for my language misstakes, i'm from poland.
I'm new user of ThinkPad T410. laptop got to my hands about 2 weeks ago and only few days ago I spotted that there are 2 or 3 places on the lower part of case that are flexing under pressure - under touchpad, whole edge of the case is bending. but the worst thing is that lock from opening the case is giving annoying sound when moved, it's sound of stretched small spring. does anyone have such problems? is it classifing under quarranty? thanks for any help and tips. sorry for misstakes once again. cu

This kind of problem must to be solved by warranty. Call customer service and they will inform you how to proceed.

Commission Case problem in ICM module

Hi Experts,
Currently i am working in Icentive and commission management(ICM). I am facing a problem.
My functional consultant has maintained the number range for commission case. When i am trying to create the commission case by transaction CACS_BDTI_SEL_01 (or by commission system transaction CACS), it shows the error that 'No number range available for application (application name)processing'. Is the any other configration needed for rectifying this error.
Or else would i missing anything before creation of commission case?
If any link is available regarding Commission case creation and configraion?

Problem solved by myself.
I don't know the reason, but when i unchecked the "Batch' and 'Dialog' checkbox during declaration of number range it start working..

Nokia E90 case problem.

I've had my nokia e90 for a year or two now. It works great, its an amazing phone. The only issue I have with it is that the case 'peels off'. Similar to the effect you get when acid rain affects paint on houses. I found a replacement in Malaysia but they couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't get the same problem again and they had no warranty so I didn't take it. In the images I attached,I have a different battery cover because the original has completely corroded.

Unfortunately there is nothing that anyone can do to help you here. We don't know the circumstances that caused it to peel or the substances it's been in contact with.
If you want a genuine case you need to visit a nokia care point and ask them to fit it for you.

Bumper Case Problem.. Can't contact apple

Hi! I ordered for the bumper case last July.. it was supposed to be delivered 2 weeks ago.. but I still didn't get it. Can't seem to contact Apple Customer Service either. Anybody here got the same problem? Is there any other way I can contact Apple for this?
I know.. its just free.. but we still have to get it right? I also ordered a few stuff after that.. and I am quite scared I won't be able to reach any customer server representative from Apple in case I encounter deliver problems.

I received an email from Apple on 09/09 stating that my free bumper will be delivered by 20/09.
It's 22/9 now and I still haven't received it. I called DHL this morning (because my call to Apple was not answered after an hr) and DHL said that Global Mail is their only service which is not trackable.
Why didn't Apple send it via a trackable service? Isn't it bad enough that iPhone4 has known antenna issues to begin with??
So basically, if it's lost in transit, you can't prove it and they won't do anything about it

Graphite case problem

I have a clamshell graphite that has a problem with the rubber trim around the front of the unit.
It has started to come away from the plastic case.
Can it be re-attached without much trouble.
It is only a cosmetic issue, but if I want to upgrade to a newer one,
it will affect the selling price.
Any ideas? I tried a clear glue but it eventuall came undone.

Laptop case problem

last time my keyboard was faulty and a keypad was fell out, then i took it to the service center, the people replaced my keyboard. recently i have noticed that the case was protuberant at the place where the keypad fell out last time, i dont know how to discribe this problem, how can i tell the service center and tell them the problem? or someone can help me about this?

Take a digital photo of the problem.
Post it to photobucket or another image hosting site and link to it in a post in your thread so we can see exactly what you are talking about.
Your description sounds as if the laptop was not put back together correctly at the service center.
If and when you send it back for repair, include photos with red circles amd arrows to point out where the issue is.

Upper lower case problem.

Dear all,
in the following code i want to cmpare the database user with the user in my table.
here is a problem when i connect with the user which name is stored in upper case in table its okey.
but when i login with a user which name is store in lower case in table its give error :GLOBAL.FRM_USER not found.

Are you getting this error directly in this piece of code?
If the following select does not find a value I think an exception would be raised which would mean you bypass the assignment of your global
select LOGIN
into vusr from mis.SETUP_USERS
where LOGIN= v_db_user;
Later if you reference :GLOBAL.FRM_USER on the right hand side of an assignment you will probably get the error
If you use default_value('GLOBAL.FRM_USER','some value you think is relevant'); at the top of this code you should not get the error (I hope) but you should maybe consider if the select into raises an exception you want to deal with it, or consider using upper to ensure you match on usernames, but be careful you do not invalidate an index lookup.

MSI K8N Neo Platinum with Vapochill Case problems - Help anyone. :)

Had a bit of a tricky problem and as Im new to this board I have no idea what could be causing this.
First all all system specs:
Athlon 64 3700+ Clawhammer
MSI K8N Neo Platinum -
1 gig Corsair XMS ProL Low Latency Ram (2 x 512mb)
Nvidia Gefore 6600GT
1 x WD Raptor 10000rpm HD
NEC 2500a DVD writer.
Eye-T 550w PSU.
Vapochill SE Case with installed Vapochill Phase change cooling.
Here are photos of it in its present state, you will notice that it isnt installed in the case at the moment.
The reason for that is because the two wont work together and I want them to so so bad...
So, hopefully someone here can save the day for me - here goes.
I have tested the Motherboard and all other componants outside of the case and everything runs smoothly and there are no problems what so ever, great.
I have also retested the Vapochill case with another motherboard and that also works without a hitch.
The problem comes when I insall the MSI board into the system, all hooked with a really basic setup, PSU, Case cooling, CPU and Ram. Flick the on switch on the power suply and the system turns on for around 1/2 a second then turns off again. I found this strange because it soundnt come on at all until I press the power button.
If I press the power button the same thing will happen over and over.
I have tried a different powersupply and this does nothing at all.
I have checked for shorts and there is no possible way it is shorting on anything.
I have a fan plugged in where the CPU fan would go and this doesnt help.
I have taken it back out and tested it again and it still works ok.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Are there any secret Bio's menu's that would have an option that would solve this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you are running the MoBo standalone, what are you connecting to the Power, Reset, HDD, etc. pins ? Are you using the wires from the Vapochill case, or something else ? It looks like a single cable with an intermittent switch (red/white cable). I once had a similar sort of problem and it was because I hadn't connected up (the incredibly fiddly) cables correctly. Other than that, I would have gone for a short of some sort - but you have checked that already, so . . . .
As to the system starting to power-up when you switch on the PSU, I wouldn't worry too much about this. It seems to happen from time to time with some of my systems - amongst other things, the BIOS can be set to resume to previous state after a power-fail.

User home folders Upper and Lower case problem in FPN

I am facing a wiered problem in FPN. I configured FPN between EP and BI portal.
EP is using UME as LDAP
BI portal is using UME as ABAP
configured KM folders on to EP using Webdav scenario
now when I try to save KM book marks, it is saving perfectly in EP
the problem is saving bookmarks in the userfolder with Uppercase like USER
the KM favorites iView with the path (/alias/userhome/<user.id>/favorites)is trying to look into the userfolder with lowercase like user and displaying nothing
plese help me in solving this for KM iView to ignorie case

I understand that this problem is because of UME as LDAP and ABAP .
I tried to create a KM Navigational iView for favorites folder /alias/userhome/<user.id>/favorites.
but here problem is I am not able to convert user.id to Ucase
As per your suggestion, it is not possible to create one KM navigational iView to peep into multiple folders
for this the solution might be in two ways. creating KM iView to ignore case and look into the user home folder
if so, How to make the iView to ignore case
second option is to configure BEx broadcaster to publish in USER.lower folder
is so, How to achieve this
being people started using FPN most frequently and moving BI to seperate Portal and use ABAP as ume.
users will start encounter this problem most often. SAP has to come out with solution for this

IPod Touch Crashes - possible magnetised case problem?

In the first ten days of use, my iPod Touch 8Gb repeatedly crashed and needed many force restarts (sleep/wake and home keys for many seconds), sometimes several times in succession.
After restart, sometimes I got a white screen, and once a screen with vertical orange bars. I noticed one day that it crashed in the middle of a music track as soon as I closed the case, a leather one which closes with magnets.
I took it into an Apple Store, but they said the tiny magnets in a case shouldn't affect the iPod and I should send it back. I did, but Apple have told me they cannot find a problem. I don't know whether the case issue was a coincidence.
Does this mirror anyone else's experience?

I believe it is the case. When I purchased my iPod Touch, I first purchased a silicone sleeve, which is what I used for several weeks. No crashes. Then I purchased a leather Griffin case with a flap that is secured by four magnets. I started having problems with it crashing. Usually it would happen after 24-48 hours of non-use, like over a weekend. I would open it up to use it and it would crash - white screen, frozen, etc.
Over the course of several months, I found that most of the answers online fell into two groups. The first was of the opinion that it was a software bug and the only way to fix it was to send it in for repairs. The other answer, which was universally pooh-poohed by the "software bug" folks as well as Apple, was that the crashes were being caused by the magnets in the case.
Well, after so long dealing with these crashes and being entirely fed up, and not being convinced that it was safe sending my beloved iPod off to be fixed, I decided to take matters into my own hands. One day at work I took my trusty x-acto and carved the magnets out of my case.
It has been one year since that fateful day and in that time my iPod has not crashed once.
If I were you, I would try removing the magnets from the equation before doing anything else. Your problem could be caused by unrelated software issues, but it could just be the magnets. Apple doesn't seem to want to recognize this issue, but it exists and I feel that my experience is proof.

When multiple paragraphs are selected the start of a paragraph is set to a lowercase

Looks like it is a 'paragraph mark' problem which can be seen as 1st char in some strings.
modify these two lines:

Small caps in running heads - mixed case problem

My running head is set to be small caps, and it picks up mixed-case text from the document. I want the head to be all 'lower case' small caps (or 'upper case', unless that really means ordinary caps) but can see no way to achieve this. Instead I get 'mixed case' small caps, if that makes any sense. If I select the head on the master page and then Type | Change Case, this has no effect on the appearance either on the master or the generated heads. How do I achieve uniform small caps where the source text for the running head is mixed-case? If small .indd attachments were allowed I would have attached one, but it got rejected despite not being llisted as a forbidden type.

A few ways to do this:

or in your paragraph styles use OT small caps (assuming you're using an OT font)
I also set up a keyboard shortcut, to Type > Change Case > lowercase
you could probably do it with GREP too...
