Case recommendations for iPHONE

Is there a thread with suggestions for best cases? if not, what are you iPhoners loving?

I have both iphones and the biggest problem I had with the older one and now the new one is the cases. There are too many bulky cases that defeat the purpose of having a smart phone. The best hard case I found after buying seven of them is the Agent18 Shield. I have had it for all my ipods and have yet to get a scratch on my phone or ipod when dropped. The best part is it does not fall apart when you do drop it like many other bulky cases. The bad part about the Agent18 Shield is that there is no clip or holster for it to snap into it. You will have to carry it in your pocket. It is pretty slim though and less bulkier.

You don't need it for an iPhone, assuming that you have not made any unauthorised changes to the OS, such as jailbreaking.

  • Recommendations For Iphone Apps!

    Hello,
Can I get some recommendations for  some apps I can use for my iphone.
    Thanks!

You can Google a term such as "essential iPhone apps" or "must-have iPhone apps" and you will get lots of results. People vary as far as which apps they like the best. I also check out the App Store on a regular basis to see what the Top 100 apps are. If a lot of people are downloading an app, it makes me curious about it, and I'm more likely to check it out.
    Happy app hunting!

  • Is the para duo metal case ok for iphone 5

The new Para Duo Metal case for the iphone 5 looks pretty nice and is not too expensive, but is it ok to have a metal case on this phone and not have service interruptions? Wether it be bluetooth signal, internet (wifi Signal) or cellular network connection(phone calls)? Has any one had any issues with this before?
    Thank you!
Here is the link to the product:
    http://www.more-thing.com/en/iphone/iphone-5/para-duo-metal-for-iphone-5.html

Well first off, the case is not metal. It is an anodized polycarbonate plastic with a metallic finish that goes on top of a pure silicone inner case.
You do not want a case made out of metal, if nothing else it would scratch too easily and add too much weight to the phone and that's in addition to the loud clinging you'd get when you set it down.
The object of this case is to immitate metal in the most elegant way possible, and More-Thing has done just that.
The special plastic holds the finish better and gives you a lighter and more cushioned protection than real metal.
If real metal is your thing, you may want to consider a different phone, because iPhone 5 being made of aluminum and glass is pushing case makers away from metal.

  • Is iOS 6.0.1 recommended for iPhone 4S?

Some of my friends installed iOS 6.0.1 and they had their contacts erased, the map is not working properly, and so on..... Is it safe to install it on iPhone 4S or not?????????

Most never have an issue at all with any updates.
ios 6.0.1 is indeed designed for iphone 4s.
I have had no issues nor has anyone I know.
As always, everything should be on your computer.  How did your friends lose contacts?  They should have been syncing to their computers regularly.

  • What accessory would someone recommend for iPhone 5...

To play music in my 2008 Volkswagen Jetta SE that has an iPod Adapter in it. I am not looking to do anything truly difficult or extensive to be able to do this or use FM Transmitters. What could someone recommend for me?
    Thank you.

if you mean ipod adapter then a pin30 to new adaptor should work
otherwise anything can be connected to the minijack connector and would play analog audio
which would be played on anything with a analog input

  • Case recommendations for Mbp 13"?

I am loving my new MBP 13" and I am totally lost on what type of case to protect it to buy! I have read pros and cons about the hard icase as well as the satin case! I really want something that isn't as bulky but I don't want my mBp to get damaged either! Do these cases really protect it or is it more of a fashion statement? What is the actual necessity of having one?
    Tiffany

I have a Speck Hardshell case (in clear). In my opinion, it adds no bulk and minimal weight (by like, maybe a few ounces). It's protected my computer from scratches, and I love it. It's a nice way to keep the unibody pristine while still showing off the aluminum or having a different color (I almost went with blue). I also have the Paul Frank monkey 13 inch sleeve for my MBP. With the Speck case on, it still fits in the sleeve perfectly and it's great for traveling and extra protection in my bookbag from spills, dirt, etc.
Edit: I also have the Moxi palmguard/trackpad cover to prevent it from getting dirty/worn down. It works wonderful and, despite the reviews, the trackpad still responds the same with the tap-click/regular click/gestures with no extra effort for me. I recommend getting the iKlear cleaning solution to clean your MPB as well for regular use as well as putting on the case (trapped dirt can scratch the MPB), and the iKlear works wonders cleaning the body, screen, and other electronics.

  • Case Recommendations for iPad 2

I just received my iPad 2, and I'm trying to decide which case to get that will work along with the Smart Cover. I'm trying to decide between these cases:
    1. X Gear Smart Cover Enhancer
    2. AviiQ Smart Case
    3. Enki Genius Case
Is anyone using any of these cases? All suggestions, recommendations and advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I did A TON of reasearch and I've narrowed down this choice to two options that work perfectly for home, travel and professional use.  I rotate between the two.
    (1) Smart Cover Set Up:  II love my smart cover, but I only had to see a friend drop his iPad once to know the back needed protection.  I didn't want to loose the slim esthetics of the device, so this thin, clear back cover has been perfect.  I've had at least 5 friends buy the same one.

    (2) CrownCase Black Leather:  It is really faux leather, but it works for me.  It is the highest rated case on Amazon and it's as good as advertised.  This case fits perfectly, allows access to all controls, and doesn't impete the speaker.  Love it!

  • Case Recommendations For 30G Video Ipod

I will b e getting the above Ipod within a couple of weeks. Should I just get a v-sheild or just a case or both. Also, could you recommend a case. Thanks so much.

I really like the hard plastic, transparent case
SeeThru Hard Case for iPod Video 30GB, 3 Pack
    Manufacturer: Speck Products
    Mfg Part #: IV30-3PK-SEE
Available from CompUSA and a bunch of others. $30 for a three pack in three colors (clear, smoke grey, and red).
Easy on the pocket, can see video through screen, prevents scratches, etc. One trick, though. A standard 1/8" mini stereo plug won't fit through the case. Shave a little off your soft plastic mini-plugs with a craft knife and it works like a charm.

  • Speaker Recommendations For iPhone 4

    Hi guys,
I am sure this question has been asked countless times but I still would love some input. I want to get a speaker set for my iPhone 4 and iPod Touch and this would be my primary music system. My budget is around 400-500USD and since I am in India, I may have to order it from abroad hence may not even able to test it. I had an Altec Lansing IM7 and now seeking to replace it though it was a great buy and worked outside as well.
I am really liking the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Mini but have not tested it in person and another option is the older generation of Bose. But at the same time I wonder if I should wait for an Airplay Speaker like the Zeppelin Air (though its way out of my budget 800USD).
Audio quality is the most important to me but at the same time it shouldn't be humengous. So any inputs would be really appreciated and recommendations on Airplay speakers would help too.
I don't know if this helps but I listen to a lot of piano rock, rock, acoustic performances and ambient music and sometimes movie scores.
    Thanks
    Tanya

You would be very happy with the sound on the Zeppelin Mini based on the type of music you listen to. Your only question is do you want to wait until there are more AirPlay devices on the market.

  • Heart Rate Monitor Recommendations for iPhone 4S and/or iPod 3G?

I've recently started using the Nike+ app and sensor for tracking my walking/treadmill activity.  Unfortunately, it does not work on an elliptical machine, but it's still a lot of fun and I'm doing something good for myself in the process.
The next step is to track my heart rate during exercises, which requires a heart rate monitor (strap) that communicates back to an iPhone app.  I think I've exhausted the possibilities of getting any heart rate monitor to communicate back to the Nike+ app, unless I'm willing to purchase a brand new Nano and cut my music catalog down by a tenth, so that isn't happening.  So I'm looking at a heart rate monitor that will communicate with a widely used, reliable and/or low cost iPhone 4S app, preferably one that can work at the same time as the Nike+ app that is stock, resident and free on the iPhone and which I use and will continue to use while walking with the Nike+ sensor that gets attached to my shoelaces.
The next step is the heart rate monitor itself (strap).  Lots and lots of choices out there but all roads lead toward Wahoo Fitness and their combination ANT+ plug into the base of the iPhone, and the heart rate monitor strap.  Looks like I can get them both on Amazon for about $60, which is a lot cheaper than I saw elsewhere.  Very expensive line of products.  And lots of "hopefullys" - hopefully, it won't drain my battery down on moderate to long walks; hopefully, I can run their app and the Nike+ app at the same time without interfering with one another (they do have a stride sensor but that's just more money that I've already spent on the Nike+ sensor which works fine); and hopefully, the stock strap will fit a 52" - 54" chest (I'm a big guy, they offer no data, they have no contact number, I'd have a drop them a support email and just wait for a response, company reputation for customer service is not good).
So am I looking at the best choice for my needs, or has anyone else recently purchased a similar system for measuring heart rate, stride and/or any other critical components of their exercise routine?  I am up for suggestions and not making any purchases so fast.
Last but not least, my current Nike+ app and sensor also work with my old iPod 3G running iOS5, I'm hoping that whatever I wind up with will work on that setup as well.
    Thank you.

Thank you very much for the response.  I actually purchased and have already returned a Polar heart rate monitor strap and a Nike+ Sportsband.  I could not even get them to work, and the strap was very small on me (I've got a 54" chest).  All roads lead towards Wahoo, but customer support is ABYSMAL.  You basically have to email them a question and wait for a response back, they have no chat or phone.  Ridiculous.  Anyway, my questions to them are pretty basic, maybe you can answer:
1.) The strap that you recommend works only with the 4S, which is fine, but I also have an iPod 3G that I'd like to use as well.  Some of their other straps are compatible with both.
2.) There's no measurement on the Polar strap that I just returned, so I have no way of comparing the fit on one or more of these Wahoo straps versus the Polar one.  I know that I just need a big one (XXL or better).  How is the fit on the one that you have?
3.) The whole reason why I initially went the Polar/Nike+ route was to go with the least complicated setup to get real time data on stride, distance, calories, etc. PLUS heart rate.  All on pretty much two screens (iPhone and Sportband), and with the idea that I could still multitask during a workout (i.e. check email, send a text, toggle between any open apps, etc.).  All of my research so far indicates that a Wahoo setup is going to have problems with this.  First, the rumor is that no app using a Wahoo heart monitor strap is going to allow you to exit that app and still take active readings (again, this would not have been a problem with the Sportband, but I couldn't get it to work).  Then even if that works, I don't know if the chosen Wahoo app will be able to measure heart rate while Nike+ and a shoe sensor are still measuring stride, distance, etc. (i.e. will they interfere with one another?  Will I be forced to purchase the Wahoo stride sensor too, and then it gets back to which apps work with the stride sensor, will they allow multitasking, etc.?)
It would be SO much easier for me if these Wahoo folks had a PHONE and could answer my questions.  To make purchases, try things out, return them, etc. that's crazy.  Waiting a day or two for presales questions in this day and age is unacceptable, but that's where I'm at.  I'd appreciate your continued input on this.
Btw, there is a third option beyond Polar/Nike+ and Wahoo, and that's Garmin, but the app reviews were horrible.  Wahoo was the cheapest overall, I just need to know that it's going to work and serve my needs before making the purchase.
    Thanks.

  • IPad case recommendation for UK

    Hi,
I am looking for an iPad case for a xmas pressie and was looking at a dodo, portenzo style etc, but was wondering if anybody has anything similar in the UK? The shipping costs are so high to get these from the states.
I did a bit of research and found one that looks very similar    www.patsoncase.com
Has anybody got one of these or heard anything about them? I can't find much on the Internet but they seem to sell on Etsy too and have good feedback. Works out quite a bit cheaper when you take shipping into account, but want to make the right decision!
    Thanks for your help

If you find anything suitable and post your findings that'd be great. I am pretty much at a dead end now
I have just had a helpful chat with a rep from Squirrel Sollutions:
me: We're looking for a POS till system that uses android tablets as the till interface, can you provide the hardware for this? Minus the actual tablet,
    Just a moment...
Aaron: yes, thats how it works
me: great, at the moment we have been led to other providers that can supply, till drawers, printers etc for till systems that use tablets as the workhorse.
Aaron: if you like i can forward your info to our local reseller in the UK
me: specifically we're opening a bar and would need three tills (so three iPads or Androids) and the accompanying hardware.
    that'd be great!
    we already have the tablets,
Aaron: ok we would be glad to provide a quotation and a demo if necessary
    what is your contact info?
me: well we're based in the UK and are in the planning/construction stage of the venture. Do you have a brochure etc?
details of the british reseller would be great!
Aaron: yes i do, i can email to you right away
me: brilliant, the email address is at the top of this box, but its phillip.shaw@*****.com
Aaron: the reseller will contact you as soon as possible. what is your name?
    me: Phil
in the meantime could you email me a brochure across?
Aaron: ok Phil, i will send the brochure right away
me: great stuff! Thanks a lot.
    Thanks for your help!
When the info comes through i'll update the thread here. Just to clarify they offer iPad solutions not just Android.

  • Recommendations for iPhone Screen Protector

I have purchased both kinds you can get at the apple store and I just purchased another set at the AT&T. The ones at Apple are okay, but still impossible to put on without having air bubbles and the ones at AT&T are just cheap. With that being said, does anyone have any recommendations on the best screen protector you can buy. Call me a perfectionist, but I don't want ANY air bubbles and I want a screen protector that lasts longer than just a few months.
    Thanks!

The best one I've found is offered by 3M. It's a screen protector that has a special coating that makes it hard to read from any angle except straight on - great for prying eyes! Very durable protector, and applied easily with no bubbles. I highly recommend it! I ordered it direct from 3M, just Google it and it'll come up.
    Good luck!
