Case saving question!

Hi guys:
what is the parameter IM_NEW_VERSION(Generate New Version of Record (X: Yes/space=default: No)) of IF_SCMG_CASE_API~SAVE.  Normally do we need to set the parameter?
thanks and best regards
Eric

I have two pieces of advice:
#1 Invest in some 80mm, 92mm. or 120mm case fan filters.  From the pics it looks like you've got a little bit of dust in there.  The filters are only like $2-$4 each at your local computer parts store (or directron.com or frozencpu.com) and you should mount them over every fan/air-intake hole in your case.  The build up of excessive dust will lead to premature fan failure, I know from experience.
#2 As far as your question goes... measure twice, cut once .
[EDIT] Added URLs to filter sites.

  • Free cases issue + question

I just watched the PC, and Steve said that we would receive free cases. He said that next week Apple would have a site up that allowed you to choose which case you wanted to get for free. Bumpers aren't the only ones that are being given away. There will be some other cases from other brands that will be available. This is due to the factory not being able to produce the bumpers quickly enough.
Hope that clears up some questions.
Here's a question of my own. Will we be able to input, say, an order number and be able to register for a case and have them send the case together with the phone or will we have to register after the phone is sent?

Thanks for the info!! The cheap (|) case I have does not work very well as it
comes off every time, but it works great as I haven't had too many dropped calls. Funny thing is most of my dropped calls is because I am in part of a crappy area for AT&T.

  • Need Help on using Forge Config Manager and CAS. Questions listed in the content below

    Hi All,
I have an existing Endeca pipeline implementation where we read the data sets (Product Catalog Information) from Oracle database using JDBC adapters. The data set undergoes a series of manipulation until it gets indexed to the Endeca system. We make use of PCI for dimensions and dimension values. However, we now want to extend PCI to also include the Product catalog information. The current implementation also does not make use of CAS adapters to consume the dimensions data in PCI. The next consideration is to implement PCI as close to Out of the Box provisions and standardize it. Therefore we are also considering to implement CAS.
    The questions are as below:
    1. What are the ideal parameters that should support the use of PCI implementation (Dataset + dimension + precedence Rules + schema information) ? Note: We DO NOT have any product catalog system (like ATG) between database and Endeca.
    2. Considering that we do not have any product catalog system to organize and maintain data, how feasible is it to read directly from database through CAS Adapters and process the data ?
    3. We also plan to introduce partial update pipeline in future releases. Keeping that in mind should CAS based approach help us to read from a record store at the time of partial updates ?
4.in case we are limiting to a business case of implementing partial updates in the above explained existing design, should a custom CAS approach be a better design ? Custom CAS approach = writing the baseline output data to record store and later referring it at the time of partial updates.
    5. Will CAS based approach help to reduce the baseline timings ?
    6. What is the best way to export data to record store instance in the above design ? (Record store API / Command line utility / CAS crawl)
    Thanks,
    Nitin

    Hi Neeraj,
You cam use both PI SLD and Solman Local SLD for LMDB synchronization. Now here you make to make sure that correct ranks are assigned to PI and Solman SLD. With the help of multiple sld, you can remove the cause of concern. Local SLD should always be of solman.

  • Big file saving question.

    Dear all,
I am writing a foto ablum application in RIA.I want to save
all the fotos in bytearray, and then save it as a file in user's
computer,so that the user can open their file to retouch without
    downloading or uploading.
Question is that I afraid if the fotos' filesize is too
big,it may make an error such as "out of memory".
    What should I do,please?
    Thank you!

I hope you try to say AIR instead of RIA. (bcuz RIA means
rich internet application = any asyn applicaiton including ajax
    etc)
If you try to make it as a RIA application (which means it
runs in a browser), you can not touch to client's file system so
you need to send the data to server to make it downloadable.(any
php script that will get the bytarray, return an image would work
    for this case)
for the AIR case, you dont need to worry for the file size
unless the user does not have enough space.

  • Printing/Saving Question

When wanting to print a form off, is there a way of downloading/only printing or saving the pages that have answers on as not all parts of the form a relevant to every person?

    Hi Nicole,
To have the form automatically e-mail the response when the form is submitted, click the Options tab, select Email Notifications, and check the Send email notifications when submissions are received option. Further below, check the Include submitted data box. Doing this will send the form data to you, or to an e-mail address of a form co-author of your choosing.
If your form collects data that might need to go out to many different departments depending on the options selected in the form, then you would set up your e-mail to watch for incoming mail with certain attributes and forward that message on to the correct recipient. I use this method to filter hundreds of responses to dozens of people, based on specified selections in the submitted responses. To make this work effectively, depending on your e-mail service, you might need to use an e-mail client (Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.) - the server-side filters/rules might not be powerful enough if you just use a web-based e-mail interface, but you can always try it first.
A bit tedious to set up the first time, but once it works, you can duplicate your filter/rule to create new filters for each different type of response, making just tiny edits as needed.
So, for example, I have a form sending responses to me, and my e-mail application has the following filter (items in brackets < > are options selected when setting up the filter/rule):
Title: Final student evaluation for Supervisor: <person's name (I customize this for each of the different people this is to go to)>
If all of the following conditions are met:
              1. <To> <contains> <my work e-mail address>
              2. <Subject> <is equal to> <(my particular form name): Response Received>
              3. <From> <contains> <[email protected]>
              4. <Message content> <contains> <unique text that lets the filter know to whom to forward the message - this is populated by a drop-down selection, so the spelling/content is consistent>
        Perform the following actions:
              5. <Move Message> to mailbox: <appropriate folder in your e-mail account - this means the message never hits your actual inbox>
              6. <Redirect Message (or could be Forward Message)> to: <e-mail address of person who should be getting this content, based on above information>
As I mentioned above, I then duplicate this rule, and make minor edits, for each of the different recipients who need to get responses from the form. (I change the Title, change the content from line 4 to match the new rule, and change the e-mail address in line 6 to match the new rule.)
If you decide you want to save each response as a PDF and then remove the unneeded content:
Go to the View Responses tab
Find the response you wish to export
Export the response as a PDF (by hovering your mouse over the row number, all the way to the left, and then choosing the Download Response as PDF Form... option)
Open the exported PDF in Acrobat Pro
Delete unneeded (blank) responses and/or pages
Save the PDF and e-mail that to the person who needs the responses.
This works if you only need to do this occasionally; if you need to do this for a large number of submissions, it is well worth setting up the mail rules/filters as outlined above.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. It looks complicated, but it's really not... you just need patience when setting it up for the first time.

  • Errors upon saving question files

    Hi-
I am hoping that someone can help me here.  This is the second time that this issue has hit me and my IT department is not able to resolve the issue.
This is the second time that this has happened when I got to save the question file that I am currently working on.  I receive a message stating that I do not have permission to safe to that location or that the file may be locked by another user.
I am an administrator on my laptop and I have tried saving it to my desktop and my personal drives as well as the public drives on our network.
Has any one else ever run into this?  Is there a setting on my machine?  This only happens when I am using Captivate and specifically when I am creating/updating questions.
I have tried file save as and saving it under a different name; get the same message.  I have tried to copy and past the questions into a new file and they are lost.  The frustration level rising when you have lost 1.5 hours of work or so.
I have attached a screen shot of the actual message that I have received.
If anyone has ANY suggestions or knows what I can do to try and fix this, I am all ears!
    Thanks,
    Michelle

This problem happens fairly frequently. It will also occur if you try and delete a project you recently opened and closed. Seems the file locks have very strong hooks that do not release easily. If you keep trying to save (or delete for that matter) it will eventually go through.
One additional note on quiz questions - I have noticed that an overly large or wordy question/answers can corrupt the file during the publish routine. The project will open, save and preview, but will not publish correctly.

  • PC 2.5: Delete cases/survey questions

    Hi all,
In order to test some functionalities of PC I scheduled some surveys a few month ago.
I'm trying to delete all the questions, surveys and cases that I have created.
I tried to use program RHRHDL00 but I didn't find these attributes as parameters.
Note: i have customized lots of master data that i don't want to loose.
    Any idea?
    Best regards,
    Julien

    Julien,
I assume you are talking about a dev or QA system.  It is my understanding you can't delete a question if it is in a survey and you can delete a survey if it has been used (a key control for audit purposes).  That said you could go into the IMG under administration programs and "Execute Administration programs for PC workflows" and go into 'delete cases and workflows".  You should be able to find whatever you want to delete in here and in theory you should be able to delete subsequent objects.  I haven't done this so I'm not exactly sure if it will work.  You will have to delete everything for each survey.  Depending on your environment, this could be a very difficult task.
Personally, I would just mark the survey(s) and/or questions inactive and just forget about them.  There are so many interdependencies on the backend that performing these types of changes might turn out to cause more trouble than they are worth.  You could quickly find that other, unanticipated things go "sideways" after making manual backend workflow/case changes (like performing signoff).

  • Case Escalation Question

I was informed (after 7 months of various support tickets and 2 depot center repairs) that our case would finally be escalated. I was told I would be contacted early this week. It is now Thursday, and I haven't heard a peep from Lenovo since the call that resulted in the escalation last week. When do I start to worry? Is there a seperate department I should contact regarding this? We have 9 of these laptops all with the same issue and it makes us look very incompatent to our employees that are still, after 7 months, having to use these "faulty" laptops. I have heard many a horror story about Lenovo's escalation process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • CAS (array) questions redux

I have a single Exchange server, where Get-Mailboxdatabase reports that the RPCClientAccessServer is servername.domain.local
I'm currently having a certificate mismatch due to using a wildcard certificate, this only manifests as an error popup when you first start Outlook. Mail works fine, as do calendars - but I want to get rid of that pop-up.
I'm already doing a split-brain DNS for EWS and so forth - mail.domain.com resolves to an internal IP internally and an external IP externally through a "real" DNS entry that's Internet-facing, and this way neither users internally or externally
get certificate errors and everything works - EAS, OWA etc. So it's just this internal issue left.
The question I have is that  I read something about it being a bad idea to use the same DNS name for CAS if the same address is externally resolvable (which it would be in this case). Does setting RPCClientAccessServer affect external clients too?
Should I create a second split brain DNS entry instead, like mail-internal.domain.com and point that at servername.domain.local just to use for CAS?
The second part of this question - can I just do: Set-MailboxDatabase MailboxDatabaseName -RpcClientAccessServer “mail.domain.com” and  walk away, ie skip the CAS array creation entirely if I were to choose that, assuming mail.domain.com resolves internally
    to servername.domain.local?
Or should I definitely create the array and use that instead even though this is a single-server environment?
    Thanks.

    Indeed!

No, it is not that simple of just changing it and walking away.

  • CRIO saving question

    Hi all,
I have a cRIO 9074 sampling and saving lots of data.. I have manage saving all my data (in binary format) with no problems at all. However, my problem is that because the amount of data being saved is very large, an experiment running for approx. one hour would completely fill the hard drive of the cRIO (around 300 MB). I therefore thought of chopping the data by downloading the data files to the local host PC every 10 minutes while simultaneously deleting each file from the cRIO hard drive. All this occurs while the RT process is running. It seems that the system cannot cope with this strategy as in some cases during download the RIO VI freezes and all control is being lost.
Apart from adding a larger hard drive (assuming that I can actually do that), is there any other, software based, way of coping with this situation?
Thanks a lot for your time,
    Harry
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
Transferring the data through TCP/IP will be more faster than transferring through FTP.  The basic difference lies in the fact that using TCP/IP you should transfer the data directly (like 2d array of acquired data, waveforms, strings etc.,) and not as a file like FTP.
So you have two options while using TCP/IP:
1.Transfer the data stored in the file (in cRIO) periodically
    2. Transfer the live data to host with or without storing in cRIO.
The Host would contain the logic to receive the data and store it into the file.
Take a look into the example vi: "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\examples\comm\TCP.llb\Data Server.vi and Data Client.vi" that gives good idea about TCP/IP communication.
    Post back if any queries.

  • Vaja case ivolution question

Anyone have this case. I stumbled upon vaja's website and their ivolution looks pretty cool. I have some questions regarding that.
    1. Speaker, I'm concerned when making phone calls, that hearing the conversation will be more difficult, you're ear is now farther away from speaker. I googled the ivolution for the iPhone and saw one or two complaints
    2. Dust, will dust get inbetween the material and the phone? I have the incase slider now, and I take it off to clean the dust off by the seam of where the phone and the case meet
    3. Pocket use, I keep the phone in my pocket, does the form factor of the iVolution inhibit this, is it too bulky?
Its a bit pricey, but its a sharp looking case, so if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I would greatly appreciate the feedback.

I have owned Vaja cases for other products but not the iPhone. I will tell you that any case adds bulk and you will notice it. This case looks thicker then other leather cases of the past - as thick as some hard shell plastic cases.
I would think sliding it in and out of a pocket would be hard to do. You will definitely get dust around the edges and have to take it out to clean it - especially if you are slipping it into a pocket. Pockets seem to hold lint and dust.
I don't think hearing would be a problem though. Vaja makes a fine case, but i decided on none. I have gotten tired of buying accessories for every new phone that add up to more then the phone.

  • CASE Expression question

    Hi,
I am wondering how to implement case logic where THEN statement would be written only once for many WHEN's.
This example is from the oracle documentation, I extended it a bit.
    SELECT cust_last_name,
    CASE credit_limit
    WHEN 100 THEN 'Low'
    WHEN 200 THEN 'Low'
    WHEN 5000 THEN 'High'
    ELSE 'Medium'
    END
    FROM customers;
As you see we select 'Low' for both values 100 and 200.
What I am really looking for is something like:
    SELECT cust_last_name,
    CASE credit_limit
    WHEN 100
    WHEN 200 THEN 'Low'
    WHEN 5000 THEN 'High'
    ELSE 'Medium'
    END
    FROM customers;
    OR
    SELECT cust_last_name,
    CASE credit_limit
    WHEN 100 OR 200
    THEN 'Low'
    WHEN 5000 THEN 'High'
    ELSE 'Medium'
    END
    FROM customers;
But both of selects are not valid in oracle (tested on 10g Rel2)
Maybe it is very simple and I am witting it wrong, or it is working only the way I have to repeat the THEN to every WHEN.
    Thanks in advance!
let's say I would like to perform the same step

    Hello
    What about
    tylerd@DEV2> SELECT
      2      CASE
      3          WHEN dummy IN('X','Y','Z') THEN
      4              'Dummy is X, Y or Z'
5          WHEN dummy LIKE 'A%' THEN
      6              'Dummy is like A'
      7          ELSE
      8              'Dummy is something else'
      9      END

  • A Case Study Question in the Use of Stills with Final Cut Pro

Believe it or not, for the last week I have been reading endlessly about pixels, resolution, aspect ratio, Photoshop resizing, the bloody battle over the usefulness of the term "dpi" in video discussions, and generally about what one should do in order to use still images in a film edited in Final Cut Pro. And yet, though I have a PhD from an Ivy League university, and can understand a lot of things, I am sorry to say I am still at a loss.
Much of the discussions of photos on forums like this one are either quite technical or broadly philosophical. But my questions are completely practical and specific. I am not a photographer or a printer, nor am I an experienced editor. I am just a fairly smart person trying to use photos in his film. So I am going to ask some specific questions and hope for specific answers, without any philosophical waffling or technical mumbo jumbo.
I have one of those HP all in one printer/fax/scanner machines. I am told this device, while not fancy, is perfectly adequate to the task. Some of my photos I scan with this device from prints. Some of them I get from other people. (I have stopped downloading photos from the web, as the quality is nearly always poor.) I have Photoshop Essentials (not Photoshop). I am making a 90-minute HDV documentary, 16x9. The doc is mostly HDV footage with a still here and there. I want to be able to move on the photos (zoom, pan, etc.). I want, obviously, for them to look good. My sense is that the work flow is: (a) scan the photo (or obtain from some source as a digital file); alter the photo in some way in Photoshop; and (b) import the photo into your FCP project.
Question #1: If I have a 6x8 print, what settings should I scan it in with -- is it possible there really is no difference between scanning in it at 72dpi and 300dpi? Is it really all about the dimensions of the image? Isn't a photo whose dimensions are enlarged in Photoshop to make it available for panning and zooming in my sequence going to look fuzzier and more pixelated if it was originally scanned at 72dpi than at 300dpi? Also: Does it matter if I save it as a jpeg or tiff? Bottom line: What settings do I use in my scanning software when I scan a photo for this purpose?
Question #2: Once I have the image file on my hard drive, I suppose I now have to load it into Photoshop Elements and do something to it. What is it exactly I am using this program for? I'm going to take a wild guess. I use PS Elements to (1) crop the photo so that it has a 16x9 aspect ratio, and (2) resize it so that I can do pans and other Ken Burnsy moves on it in FCP. Bottom line: What exactly do I do in PSE to the photo and what settings do I use to both (a) make it available for moves and (b) not injure the quality of the photo by increasing its dimensions?
(In passing, I will say that I have done experiments that show that if I increase a photo's dimensions to, say, 4000 pixels by 2000 pixels, the photo's quality definitely and obviously suffers. I don't understand how a picture can be increased in size without losing sharpness. So, what am I doing wrong? Is this a function of it having been scanned in improperly to begin with?)
Question #3: If I am obtaining a photo from an outside source -- say, a professional photographer -- what are the specifications I ask for in both a hard print and a photo file? If the former, what dimensions do I ask for? If the latter, do I specify resolution and dimensions and file type?
These are my questions. At this point, I really don't want to know WHY any of this is the way it is. I just want someone to say: "Do this; do this; and then do this."
    Thank you very much.

Studio X is absolutely correct; while DPI has no meaning in the video world, it often has significant meaning in scanning (and, of course, printing). If your scanning program only allows image size adjustments in DPI, then you'll have to adapt to that ... keeping in mind that the scanner's DPI setting directly relates to pixel resolution. And it is pixel resolution (not DPI) that will make all the difference in the world for images used in video. You can test this yourself by scanning an image at 1000 x 1200 @ 72 DPI and again at 1000 x 1200 at 300 DPI. They will look identical on TV or projection as long as the pixel resolution remains the same.
As an example, my Epson scanning software allows me to adjust image size by DPI or pixel resolution. Wanting to maintain the correct aspect ratio for the image area that I'm scanning, I adjust the DPI setting which in turn adjusts the pixel resolution automatically. But it doesn't work the other way around; if I adjust the pixel resolution settings manually, the DPI setting does not change. Your software may vary.
As Jim Cookman suggested, a scan setting of 300 DPI works well for most images ranging from 3 x 5 to 4 x 6 (typical snapshot size) in a DV Sequence. I may scan smaller images at 400 or 600 DPI and larger images (8 x 10 and up) at 150 DPI. Other size images fall in between those numbers. But I'm constantly watching the pixel resolution numbers to make sure I'm getting what I'll need to support the animation I intend to apply to the images once in FCP. Also bear in mind that I don't always scan the entire image. I only scan the area of an image that I intend to use in my program.
So the answer is that it all depends on your scanner's software and how far you plan to push into an image once in FCP. Do a few experiments ... you're a bright fellow so it shouldn't take long for you to find the formula that suits your purposes.
I haven't edited an HD Sequence using images yet, so I cannot offer definitive pixel resolutions for you there.
    On to your specific questions:
    1. See above. There is no one correct answer It all depends on what you intend to do with the image once it's in FCP. If you only plan to push in about 10%, you won't need much higher resolution than the equivalent of your FCP Sequence resolution. If you plan to push in further, you'll need a higher resolution to support that move.
    2. I've been doing these for many years (SD Sequences only) and I've never loaded them into Photoshop first. I import the entire folder into FCP and drop it on the Timeline so I can see what the images look like on TV; unless your program is for CD-ROM or web delivery, that's where it counts. When you place them on the Timeline, FCP will automatically scale to your Sequence settings and pixel aspect ratio. If I see that some of them need adjustment using an external editor such as Photoshop, then and only then do I use that program. And by the way, if you have a vertical image and a 16 x 9 aspect ratio in FCP, how do you propose to crop it to fit? Perhaps you meant another term instead of "crop."
    3. If it's a print, it won't matter what size they supply because you'll control the image size when scanning. If it's a file ... once again, the size (pixel resolution) depends on what you intend to do with the image once in FCP.
I really don't want to know WHY any of this is the way it is. I just want someone to say: "Do this; do this; and then do this."<<</div>
With that attitude, how did you ever earn a PhD from an Ivy League university? But if that is truly all you want, you might consider hiring an experienced editor to do it for you.

  • Transfer Case Animation Question Regarding if Logic.

I am using the following code in a transfer case animation and for the life of me, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.  The "if (neutralSequence ==0)" part works great, but the "}else if (neutralSequence == 14){" part doesn't. I am using traces in each step and the value is equal to 14 when entering the function.  I've attached the file and description of how to follow the sequence and it works until I get to this step.
    this.neutral_mc.onPress = neutral_mc.onPress = function(){

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!

    kglad,
Thanks for the suggestions, but I think the problem is in Flash.  It seems that when an onRelease command occurs within the movie the code is attached to, it creates problems for the run-time engine (if that's the correct term).
I was just about to pull my hair out and thought of one other possible woraround.  I created a 0 alpha movie clip above the original movie clip, then copied and pasted the EXACT code to the new movie and it worked fine.
I'm pretty new to coding and would have done a lot of things differently (more function based) if I had to do it over again but I didn't want to spend 100 hours reworking an animation that is 95% done.
I've got a lot to learn but it seems the folks at Adobe do as well.  I'm sure they are aware of these limits but I doubt they're published anywhere the gen pub can see them.  Perhaps they're trying to get me to purchase Suite 4?   LOL
Anyway, I really appreciate your taking the time to try to help!
    Sincerely,

  • Case when question

    Hi All,
Is it possible to use case-when statement in this SQL query?
    select SUB_ID, count(T_ID),sum(TIME)
    from TABLE_A
    where SUB_ID <> ' '
and STARTDATE between :P6_DATE_FROM and :P6_DATE_TO
    CASE :P6_FILTER_BY
    WHEN '1' THEN 'and SUB_ID like :P6_FILTER_BY_TEXT || ''@%'' '
    WHEN '2' THEN 'having sum(TIME) >= :P6_FILTER_BY_TEXT '
    END
    group by SUB_ID
as it is it seems not to work...
    thanks

    Hi,
Is it possible to use case-when statement in this SQL query?Yes
First of all you are using the wrong syntax of CASE.
    The correct syntax is :
       CASE
            WHEN var1 = 1  THEN
                       'One'
            WHEN var 2 = 2 THEN
                 'Two'
         ELSE
            'Three'
ENDTell us your requirement we might suggest something ?
