Case that will prevent scratches on the back?

Hi--
I was wondering if anyone has advice as to which cases--readily available at the Apple Store, Best Buy, etc.--do a good job of preventing scratches on the back of the iPod Touch 2G. I know that silicon cases will scratch it up, so I'm staying away from those. Are there any hard cases that will work from your experiences? I've ordered a skin from BestSkinsEver, which is like the InvisibleShield, but am looking for something that will work in the meantime, until that arrives. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I've run into the exact same concern - already suffered some scratching on the back of my 32GB Touch 2G (insert very frowned face here).
BestBuy, Staples, WalMart, and the Apple Store were very picked over - post Christmas rush I'm assuming, so my choices were very slim. I haven't picked one up yet, but a friend of mine was just over with his iPhone and had a nice hard case that covered only the back of his phone. It was a solid fit and didn't add too much bulk.
I ordered a ZAGG full body skin but still waiting for delivery.

Can any of you guys reccomend (sp?) a case that will not scratch/mess up the back of my iPod Touch? Just got mine today and I am super excited, but I want to make sure I keep the back of it scratch/mark free.

I got a cracking little thing from HMV, you basically stick it over your screen, it creates a mirror effect when ipod not in use, but it doesn't affect the touch screen performance and if needed you can take it off whenever and it doesn't leave a mark on the screen afterwards. Its called Expect EX470 Ipod Touch screen protection, if i remember rightly, i only paid a couple of quid for it..can't fault it though!

As Peter says above, only an Apple Store genius can advise you.
But to further clarify, you seem to postulate that if Apple helps you, the cure would be a replacement. That is not necessarily true. Let them look at it and advise you what the remedy is. They may offer you nothing (saying it's your fault), or they may offer you a solution (keeping your current iPhone), or possibly a replacement.

The time and date can normally be reset while an application is running by clicking on the time/date in the lower right-hand corner of the computer screen. I have an application that runs over several days and it is critical that the time and date of the computer not be changed. Is there an easy way to lock this out from the user? Note that I am what I consider an advanced beginner in LV.

That is not something you can do from LabVIEW, as it is an operating system operation, and it will depend on the operating system that you're using. On Windows you can use a group policy to control this. Please Google on "prevent time and date change in windows".

Screen in the ipad 2 is not working but not warranty because of scratches in the back?

I recently bought an Ipad 2 with apple care, suddenly few days ago the screen stopped working. I reset, restored everything with no success.
After speaking with the customer support over the phone several times (almost 100$ in phone bill!!!) they told me that I could not substitute the product within the due warranty because of some scratches in the back of the devices.
Although they realized that the scratches have nothing to do with the screen issue, they said that these scratches are categorized as "accidental damages" and therefore the warranty doesn't cover that!
I tried to explain that I don't care if my Ipad as some scratches and i don't want that to be covered, I only want the screen to be working and this is an obvious problem of manifacturing!
Bottom line they are now asking 500$ in order to change my 3 weeks old IPAD 2 malfunctioning only because the external part has got some scratches!
Is this standard?

Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slider to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.

Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

Micro scratches on the back of the phone? My first day with the phone and have scratches

So I picked up a Z3 at T mobile this morning. After reading online about the phone I must say I am happy so far ..besides one thing. A huge bummer at that!
All the marketing info says the back glass is scratch resistant. I have no idea how but at the end of day one I have mutiple micro scratches on the back glass. T movile only sells the black phone and they are noticable with the right angle. I can imagine on the white or copper it would be less noticable. Anyways ..Is this problem other users have had? I never used cases with my phone and have never had problmes with scratches. At this point I'm considering a case if I can find one I like and going to look for protector for the back.
I have no idea how I could of made the small scratches. I put my pone in a empty pocket. And have not dropped it. I used it on table at work durning lunch. Flat surface. Maybe.. maybe it had suger or slat particles on it. . but nothing noticable. I love this phone it's very attractive and I like the hardware. I just can believe it could be so fragile.

Well I could do that but that kinda defeats the purpose of paying $600 bucks for this piece of **** that I'm supposed to be able to dump 32 gigs (well u know what I mean) of music on and manage automatically the through this supposedly wonderful piece of software that's supposed to do most of that for you. Okay I get that computers are only as smart as the people using them... Which apparently is not that smart in this case... in that case let me add an example on how to read content from a file that may be or may not be a text file:
$string = [System.Text.Encoding]::UTF8.GetString([System.IO.File]::ReadAllBytes("D:\example.txt"))
Theoretically, the "Get-Content" cmdlet ought to do the same, however I have occasionally experienced different results.
You can choose to not convert it to string and just print the bytes too (or choose another encoding of your preference). Remember, a single letter usually uses 2 bytes, thus reading the first 1024 bytes from a file you converted to text would mean printing
the first 512 letters.

Cases that will work with Accessory Docks for Bionic

I am looking for a case that will protect my Bionic and also work with the car and home docks. Does anyone know what cases will work and still protect the phone well? I really want the otterbox commuter series, but I doubt that will work with the docks.

If motorola follow the pattern they did with the Droid X and X2 you may nor see a case that will work with the dock because the dock wasnt made to accept a case while using it... I know its crazy but universal docks from Walmart or Best Buy is the only way to make this possible.

Cross your fingers and hope.
Obviously if there is any big or known threat Apple will send out a firmware fix.
But the TC is designed to be end user simple device. It has no firewall that is visible at any rate. I don't know that it truly doesn't have a firewall but it is not part of the end user controls.
IMO if you have major security concerns that go beyond end device firewall, which is where Apple do put most of the security, since firewall in the router is plainly not a stop to anybody deliberately downloading an infected file or website, and most end users.. do not want a firewall that prevents them using the web like a business does, where only certain ports are allowed. Everything else tough luck.. you are not allowed to use it. Then TC is unsuitable for you anyway.. buy a proper firewall appliance.

You might look for generic cases. They're not as sturdy or durable as custom made ones - they tend to use elastic to hold in the iPad and keyboards - but that elastic does give them some flexibility.
Or see if Belkin has anything.
Or you may simply be out of luck with the compatibility. My Keyboard is in a case custom built for my 2 and I know whatever tablet I replace my iPad with I'll be getting a new keyboard as well because it most likely won't fit in a new case.
