What is the meaning of "CASH Flow"?
How can handle it in oracle?
Is a cash flow like any other report like balance sheet?

Hi
Cash Flow statement in Oracle refers to the summary of projected Cash position after certain period.It is like Cash Forecasting. This is handled through Oracle Cash Management Module
Suppose you would like to know the cash position after 30 days from now
A sample could be as follows
Opening Cash Balance as of Now
Add
Sales Orders
Sales Invoices
Receivables
Project Orders
Less
Purchase requisition
Purchase orders
Suppliers Invoices
Closing Cash Balance after 30 Days
You can choose the components to add and remove the functions according to your Business Requirement
It is not the Cash and Funds Flow statement as required by Auditors. You can prepare the same with a Customized Report.

Thanks alot Mahesh Jayashan. I checked on following tables the DATA for year 2011 didnot exists it only contains for Previous Years and Months.
1- W_MCAL_PERIOD_D
2- W_MCAL_QTR_D
3- W_MCAL_YEAR_D
4- W_MCAL_CONTEXT_G
FOR TEST basses I Manually inserted Data for 2011 to W_MCAL_YEAR_D Table so data was shown on Dashboard for Year but i wasn't able to See for 2011 Months cause i didn't Manually inserted data in other tables.

Two cash flow hierarchy in one application

Hi,
We are running BPC version 7.0 .Currently we are running cash flow hierarchy as per indirect method . We need Cash flow as per direct method.Can we have two cash flow methods hierarchy in one application?

Hi Chanda,
I believe you are maintaining the cash flows in your account dimension. You can maintain 2 hierarchies in the account dimension for different purpose.

Issue with Oracle Application testing Suite

Hi Experts,
I am new to Oracle Application testing suite.I am trying to record a flow from oracle Store inventory management application.
But when there is a pop up for entering login and pasword the flow fails with "invalid user id and password".
But when the same is tried manually I am able to login without any issue.
What could be issue ? is there any setting issue ?
Can someone help me with this issue ?

I'm new to Oracle Testing Suite so im unsure of exactly how to get the desired results. If an ORA error message is displayed on the screen i want to make the page fail. So is there a way of making the test fail if certain text is present on the screen?
Secondly i want to create a script that recognises a change has happened to the application (such as a link takes the user to a different page than expected when the script was created) and fail.
Do you have any idea on how to achieve this

Oracle Applications Release 12 and Oracle Warehouse Builder 10gR2

I'm trying to deploying process flows to Workflow but I get the following error:
RPE-02054: The version of Oracle Workflow is incompatible with this Control Center. Required 2.6.3, but found 2.6.0.
Comment I found on another thread: "As far Workflow Versions with Oracle Applications is concerned, it is always 2.6.0. Workflow is not identified with its 2.6.x versioning in Oracle Applications. The 2.6.x.x versioning is purely for Workflow Standalone."
Oracle Warehouse Builder Client: 10.2.1.31
Oracle Warehouse Builder Repository: 10.2.0.1.0
Oracle Applications Release 12

May be the excerpt from the other thread is a response I posted.
So, when you say, deploying process flows to Workflow, I do not understand what you are doing exactly? If this involves the Oracle Warehouse Builder you may want to explain a little more in detail since I do not understand how OWB works with Workflow. But as far as I have heard, it is Workflow standalone that is packaged with OWB but you are deploying into Oracle Applications.
What is the version of Oracle Workflow Builder you are using?
Is the steps you are doing certified to be done with Oracle Applications R12?

Cash Flow tables in 11i

Hi hussein,
I am checking an Oracle Report in 11i "CASH FLOW" setup. And I saw the ff. tables that are being accessed:
gl_cash_flow_trans
gl_cash_flow_codes
gl_period_statuses
Why can not I find these tables in our 11i database?

No Results in GL Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Reports

Hello Gurus,
I have installed and configured OBIA 7.9.6 financials for oracle EBS 12.1 as per config document.
Modified GL group account names, codes mappings as per business req.
Did a full ETL load and it was successfull.
Now on the reporting side, we don't see any data in the balance sheet, cash flow reports.
My understanding is, this is because group account numbers are changed and I need to do some customization on RPD file as well.
Could you please correct me if I am wrong and suggest me any best practices to customize for financial analytics.

I couldn't find 3.2.1.4.3 section in 7.9.6 config guide. Hope you are refereing to 7.9.6.3 guide.
On further investigation we found that there is no data in W_AP_BALANCE_F, W_AR_BALANCE_F tables.
This might be the reason for not having data in AP, AR Overview dashboard pages.
Actually what we have done was, added some new group account codes such as MAINTENANCE to the codes file and updated names, fstmt files accordingly.
Rest of the group codes, names such as AP, AR..etc., all were left as it is.
I have another question, How can I know a group accnt code belongs the certain account range.?
Our financial team member says there is nothing like that and he can't give the accounting range.
Can you please help to understand this concept.

Can BPM maintain flow across different applications

Hello,
I have a requirement where I have to maintain the business flow across different applications(Siebel CRM, Oracle Financials and third party applications) with out the end user knowing.
Is it possible with BPM to navigate users from one application to another application (CRM Application-> Third party Application -> Financials)? If there is a solution availabe with BPM or a different application please provide the same doc. Appreciate your help.

Hi,
Yes. Oracle BPM can maintain a flow across multiple applications without the end user knowing. It is something it was built to do.
First, applications like the ones you mentioned have an API (typically web service today but older applications exposed their API as Java POJOs, EJBs, COM, etc.). For Oracle BPM to access the applications, you need to expose the API in Oracle BPM's catalog. Customers that have a service bus expose the application APIs in the service bus and then Oracle BPM catalogs the service bus proxy services. Customers that do not have a service bus can expose the application APIs directly in Oracle BPM's catalog. Either way will work.
Second, you'd design a process with a series of Interactive (human activities) and Automatic (activities that invoke the components that in turn invoke the APIs for your applications without human intervention). You'd add something called instance variables that carry the information throughout the life the process for each work item instance. Interactive activities are placed into roles with a name associated with them (e.g. CSR or Manager) so the work done in each activity is done by the right type of person. Interactive activities can be set up where the work item instance goes to a specific person instead of everyone in the role where the activity is located (e.g. send the instance to the CSR that talked to the customer last time).
Third, at runtime as each work item instance is created (e.g. "Order 227") in the process the work item instance flows to one of the process's Interactive or Automatic activities. If it flows into an Interactive (human) activity, the end user assigned to the role where the activity is located clicks on an item in their web based Oracle BPM WorkSpace's inbox for the specific work item instance that they are interested in working on (again - perhaps "Order 227"). Once clicked by the end user, a UI presentation (either built using Oracle BPM's WYSIWYG presentation editor or a JSP) shows the work that needs to be done specifically by that end user. The UI presentation is already populated with the information gathered from a database or a previous API call from an Automatic activity. All this is done without end users having to cut out of one application and then paste into another application's screen - the right contextual information is sent to the right person at the right time. Once the end user finishes their manual task, the work might flow to an Automatic task that invokes another applicaiton's API automatically from the logic and variable information gathered in earlier activities in the process.
All this is done without the end users knowing that they are flowing through multiple applications to get their work done.

Cash Flow Error: Current account cannot be defined as cash account

I am running the cash flow report from B1 and i got an error message: 'Current Account cannot be defined as cash account'.
Why does this error appear and how will i correct it?

Hi,
Can you confirm whether the user code you have logged with has any defaults defined?
You can check the same under the following path :
Administration > Setup > General > Users > Goto the user code you have logged in to the application and check the defaults.
There is account code (CASH ON HAND & Check Received) field. Check if anything defined and if the error goes by removing the default.

Linking Oracle Workflow with Oracle Applications

I have created a workflow file using Oracle Workflow Builder but dont know how to link it with Oracle Applications.
Can someone help me by giving the step by step process involved to link the wft file with my oracle application.

Things ar not clear .
If it is new workflow , then you will have to modify the application to use the
workflow. I do not think you want to do that. You need to set up attributes
of the workflow and create process using Oracle flow routine.
If you want modify the existing workflow , You need the open the existing
workflow and modify without changing the itemtype. If you create a new process
in this item type the you have to assign the process in Account window
in Oracle application.
