Casio Brigade problems!! Won't send/recieve text or voicemail; freezing up, can't delete inbox?

Question

I have had this Casio Brigade only about 2 months now; up until recently I was in love with it.   I'm hoping somebody has a suggestion here- I was on the phone with Verizon for an hour this afternoon to no avail, they're supposed to get back to me in a few days once they "investigate" the issue.  I really don't want a refurbished replacement....I want to fix THIS phone since it's still brand-new!  If it's possible, anyway....please help! 
SO- the phone is still making & recieving calls beautifully.  But suddenly over the last few days, it isn't delivering my voicemails AND I'm unable to send or recieve plain text messages.  Not even to myself.  Phone just says "Sending Message" for eternity- I left it sitting for 2 hours once & it never came up with an error screen.  It only cancels the message when I hit End. 
I can SEND picture messages amazingly enough, but *cannot* recieve them....and when I send one, the phone auto-saves it, then freezes up on the "Message Saved" screen.   I have to pry off the battery cover & take out the battery to re-boot it.   It did this a couple of isolated times over the last 3 weeks or so....but always worked fine again when I re-booted it.   Not so anymore. 
I attempted to delete my inbox & sent message folders in case it was a low memory issue.  At the time I had my text messages set to "view by thread" instead of view by time.  I manually deleted my threads one by one; but they still showed up in my inbox & I could still open and read them.  I then tried the "delete all" option.....and it said I didn't have any messages to delete!   THEN I changed the view to show each individual message according to the time it was recieved.  NOW I can't even OPEN my Inbox or Sent folders at all.   Click on 'em all day long and it does nothing.  If I go back to "thread" everything's still there same as it was before. 
I've shut the phone down & removed the battery numerous times.   I did a software update last night.  I updated my roaming preferences this afternoon at the direction of the nice Verizon lady.  She tried to do whatever it is they do on their end to troubleshoot this issue too.  Nothing worked.   I don't think it's a network issue in my area because my husband's phone was recieveing messages all weekend long while mine wasn't. 
Any ideas?  Some kind of reset maybe?
Has anyone else had this issue with the Brigade, I wonder...or did I possibly do something wrong??  I can't find anything about it ANYWHERE online....all I found is the "re-boot cycle" glitch that'd happen during texting, when the phone first came out.  Mine has never done that, but it'd be preferable to what it's doing now!

this is pretty much my exact same story. it just happened to me when i woke up. the previous day i had kind of been annoyed at my phone, because i was texting a bunch of people but my phone simply refused to save my sent text messages, regardless of my settings. i shrugged it off as nothing. i woke up this morning with a bunch of unread texts, could read them perfectly fine...(although i was half asleep..i wish i paid attention to what they had said.)
i decided to send a picture message to my email, but of course my phone freezes up. like the original poster, my phone also would occasionally freeze up while sending a text but it was nothing that taking out the battery and replacing it wouldn't solve.
so this time, when i turn it on, i can't open any of my texts. i can't send any texts. i cant delete my texts. i can only call and use the internet/mobile messenger services. and its really upsetting me because... my social life is in texting! hahaa...seriously.
when i go through my inbox, itll show a bunch of my recently texted people(like orginal poster, i can only view as people grouped into threads, or i cant open my inbox at all) , then a couple of my texts sent from extreme numbers...numbers that dont exist. IE; 86059, 95, 609, even foreign characters like the copyright sign.
i personally have no clue what i did either...
all ive been doing is using the phone. i noticed that the first change, (when i could no longer save messages i sent) began happening after one of the times i had to take out the battery cause my phone froze during a picure message...maybe that has something to do with it.
but im steammmedd dude! i hope theres something i can do to fix it without sending it away...
