Cast members - I can' t swap more elements

May be it's easy but I'm not able to do this. I need to swap
two cast members clicking on an other element/button.
For example I have a room and some buttons, clicking on a
button the wallpaper of this room swaps with an other wallpaper
that is a cast member of the library. It is similiar to a simple
rollover but in rollover the element clicked swaps with another of
the library, in my case I click an element ad another changes with
library. I hope it is clear, I really need a solution!

How can I Find/Replace a word on all cast members together rather than one at a time?

I currently use Director 11.5.9 with Windows 7 64 bit
I have some director movies I programmed years ago. I included the file extension .dir when I used "go to movie" statements (I didn't know any better at that time). For example, I would write, go to movie "alpha.dir". I have now updated those movies to Director 11.5.9 and want to protect them by updating them to .dxr movies. Obviously, the code "go to movie name.dir" won't work any more. I need to take out the .dir extensions from every occurance in those movies. Most all of them are cast scripts on buttons. A few of them appear in score scripts.
In searching this forum, I did find some tips for search/replace on ALL cast scripts, but when I attempted to follow them I did not find the options they suggested on the drop down menus.
Can someone tell me the steps for going into a Director movie and telling the Find and Replace function to replace ALL occurences of ".dir" in Cast Scripts with ""?
Currently, I am having to find them manually and replace them one at a time. There are a LOT movies with a LOT of occcurences of .dir, so this is far too slow. I'm sure it can be done more efficiently.
Any help than anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. I have a project that is coming due very soon and I don't want to delay it if possible.

When you open any script in this movie and press CTRL+F it should open a search-and-replace text dialog with a "Replace all" button/option that does exactly what you are asking for - unless I've misunderstood.

The program and catalog work best on the C drive but you can have your photos on an external hard drive, provided you keep the drive connected to the same USB port when using Elements.
You can also drag and drop existing photos/folders to the external hard drive - but you need to do this within Organizer not in Windows Explorer.

iphone 5 will use nanosim instead of microsim so that one won't work
you could check you with carrier to see if they will give you another sim though but I dunno if the ATT 5 will have the right data bands so you might not get LTE or w/e

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or Alt+B to open the Bookmarks menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.

Try resetting the pse 2 preferences and see if that clears things up.

Long Delay when switching Flash cast members

I have a movie that uses Flash cast members as sprites. The Flash members are static images and are optimized as best they can be, but they are using Background transpaerent ink and cannot be direct to stage so I know they use a lot rescources. These sprites are rotated randomly, and that is why I must use Flash members since bitmaps look terrible when they are rotated. The user can select to change the sprite's members to display different images. I do this by changing the memberNum property of each sprite.   When that happens on some systems there is a delay of up to 2 seconds while the new Flash cast members are substituted. All Flash members are internal and are set to Preload before Frame 1.
Can anyone think of what may be causing this delay?

Firstly, I'd suggest that rather than rotating the Flash sprite it may be simpler to rotate the contents of the Flash using Flash functions built into the SWF... I'm pretty sure it would be more efficient in terms of processing. If necessary you could wrap your SWF's content into a MoveClip within the main SWF, and then spin the MovieClip using Actionscript in the SWF (if you see what I mean).
As for the delay problem - have you tried using the sprite.member property rather than sprite.memberNum? For example:
on changeMember me, aMemberName
     sprite(me.spriteNum).member = aMemberName
end
I don't know if this would side-step the problem because I've never come across it before, but it's a thought. Bare in mind that memberNum can be ambiguous because it doesn't specify which cast the member is stored in.
Telling members to preload before frame 1 doesn't guarantee that they will be preloaded - you need to be sure that you've allocated enough preLoadRam. The following would allocate 1MB (1024 KB) of RAM for preloading
on startMovie
     the preLoadRAM = 1024
end
If your SWFs are large then you may need to up the preLoadRAM value (assuming you can be sure that your users' systems will have enough free RAM).
Finally, you can use the member.preload property to tell Director whether a SWF must load completely before it plays...:
member("myMember").preload = true
... or whether the SWF can be streamed from disk as it plays...:
member("myMember").preload = false

How to animate cast members after mouse events?

I´m doing a work for university using Director but
i´m in need of help with it.
What i want to do is to have animated cast members moving to
a place in the stage after we press a button.
For example, imagine a background photo of a stage (which
will be my background image) and then image a wood crate image in
the center of the stage.
What i want to do is to press in that crate and after i
pressed that crate 4 more wood crates will appear behyind the main
crate and move to different points in the stage making it look like
the five number in a dice.
Can you help me with this?

How can I burn more than 1 movie onto a DVD? Once 1 movie is burned successfully to the disc, I try to burn another movie and Premiere wants to overwrite the first movie. One movie is 1.2 GB, second is 2.3; so there is room on a 4.7 GB DVD-RW.

What you report is what it is.
Each burn to of Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc results in the disc containing one OpenDVD Folder and one VIDEO_TS Folder.
Only one VIDEO_TS Folder can be put on a DVD-VIDEO disc even when Premiere Elements is not involved. I have seen that written about online, and I have
never found a way to overcome what seems to be basic behavior description of DVD-VIDEO..
Premiere Elements will allow you to write to a disc with content already on it, but only after you give the OK for erasing the disc content before going ahead
with the burn to.
If you have several movies, one possibility is to build a Timeline with the movies, use stop markers, and setup disc menus according so that the viewer
can selectively watch the movies. More on that later if wanted.

Can i Bind more than one Model object to the Custom controller or not

Hi All, I trying to bind more than one model object to the custom controller, Both the model objects contains same attribute name called ( output). Both model objects created on to top of the BAPI. So when i bind first model object to the custom controller will work fine. When i am trying to bind the second model object to the same controller. This second model object also having the same attribute name called "output" . So it is giving an error of "Duplicate context element "Detail". Rename or uncheck duplicate elements.

But in the reference document, it has given that , we can create model object with more than one bapi.So in this case if both the bapis contains any element with the same name will also be problem. Any body give me the solution.
Initially we have created one custom controller for each model object. But later i realized that, why con't we use same controller for all the model object. Because, the custom controller context is the public context. this context shared across all the view controllers.
The concept which I am trying to do is right or wrong?

of course, you can bind one controler to many models. When the same name occours you can simply RENAME binded node in controler.

Hello Vishal,
To show together fields which belongs to different tabs (this is, in the same event), you could use Multigroup feature (Application Elements -> Tab Page Group -> Multigroup). This feature allows you to group several events (with different field groups associated in main layout table) in only one (the even which manages the tab).
