Casting bt sport to tv via chromecast is refusing ...

Right. Here I am trying to watch moto gp via ipad chromecast to tv and I keep getting a message saying 'session- failed to connect'.
It was working fine when I watched live gp from Argentina last week, and I haven't changed anything.
As Netflix is coming through ok, I don't think it can be the connection.
We are absolutely fed up with the bt sport operation.
Oh the joy it used to be to switch on BBC and get the whole thing without any problem.
We're not much impressed by the presentation either, as it happens- but can put up with a lot if we can just watch the blooming race.
Bt sport doesn't work on the tv channel despite very strong signal.
Bt sport refuses to work via hdmi cable from PC to tv
Bt sport as of yesterday and today, refuses to work between ipad / chromecast/ tv
I must say it's been an unsatisfactory experience from start to finish.
We don't watch football, boxing or any of the other myriad of offerings
We only signed up for bt sport because Moto gp can only be viewed live through bt these days
Don't know whether to blame Dorna for greed, bt for inefficiency, or both organisations for everything.
It was compulsory to extend my broadband connection for a one year minimum to get bt sport, so I'm wondering where I stand if I decide to end the contract as they are not fulfilling there part of the contract

Hi. Thanks for responding.
Ipad to chromecast was working fine again last night. But today all ready for moto and back to no go.
i've just finished watching German touring cars via chromecast and again without a problem.
I can't understand why it only seems to give up when Moto is on.
It comes up on the ipad and the pc without any problem so I can see it, just not getting it on to the TV
I have broadband, but not infinity- do you think it just ain't fast enough for the surge of bike fans? ( I get a maximum of 16mbps)
By the way sorry I forgot to notice the error messages today so I can't tell you. So busy pulling my hair out and trying not to hit somebody!
I'm not all that tech savvy

  • Laptop unable to cast BT Sport via Chrome Cast

    Hi, I've just received a Chromecast and set it up using my smartphone Galaxy s5) and it works great. Casts iplayer, youtube and bt sport (via the android app) as it should.
    Now I've downloaded and installed the chrome extension for my laptop and cannot cast BT Sport. When I click on the cast icon it comes up "No Cast Devices Found" however I can cast from other tabs if I open them. In fact I haven't found another tab which won't cast!
    Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    The significant majority of web content can be cast. However, sites that use plug-ins such as as Silverlight, Quicktime & VLC are not supported, and may result in a lack of picture or sound.
    On the PC/laptop the live BT Sport feed is using Silverlight so it is very unlikely that you will get it to cast to an acceptable quality.
    As an aside as you now have a Chromecast -  worth reading

  • " mirror tab" does not appear on menu in Android beta version, as described in help topic on mirroring a webpage on tv via Chromecast..

    Downloaded Firefox Beta for Android because I read about its support for Chromecast. I'm running Android ver. 4.2.1 on an ASUS TF700t tablet. I get that the Firefox menu is hidden because my tablet has a 3-dot menu, which I can access via Tools on the device menu. But Mirror Tab does not appear on the Tools menu.
    Thanks

  • Why is BT sport not free via Youview?

    Though Bt has made BT sport totally free for BT broadband users via Sky if you want to watch via Youview you have to subscribe to a BT TV package. Why is this?

    Sounds as if your minimum period contract has ended, and you may find that you've lost other special prices. You have to renegotiate a fresh minimum period to keep BT Sport free and get the best deal - call the Options Team on 0800 800 030.
    This is from the BT Sport Terms and Conditions:
    The Options Team should be able to tell you if the charge for BT Sport has been introduced for any other reason, like an error.

  • Watching BT Sport on TV via Laptop App and S-Video...

    I am trying to help my 82 year old father and I posted a question on what was required to watch BT Sport on the Box in the other forum and I now understand that as well as signing up to BT Broadband we also need BT TV and a Youview box.
    Or do we?
    Could  we not just use the S-video out socket on the lap top to connect to the scart on the TV ( he has an old but excellent Sony Trinitron TV). One of these would be required:-
    MHP 15m PC / Laptop to TV Video Kit 3 Piece - SCART Adapter / S-Video Cable / 3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA Phono Cable
    Has anyone tried this combination? Will the picture quality be less good then connection via Youview+, ethernet cable and BT HomeHub?

    Full programmes are available to watch via the 'Video' sections of the app and website.
    However, not all programmes are available for on demand catch up. Please see the guidance here

    Hello.
    I can confirm that I'm also using ChromeCast with firmware version 19084.
    I purchased ChromeCast yesterday in the hope that I would be able to use it to watch bt sport through it, and so far, it hasn't worked once.
    YouTube and GooglePlay video work fine.
    I'm using the BT Sport App on an LG G3 and can watch the channels fine directly on the phone through the app, but I get the same error on screen as falco76 when I try to cast it to my TV.
    Please help!!
    I've tried turning my router, mobile phone and ChromeCast off and on again to no avail.
    Regards,
    James

  • Check you are set up to watch BT Sport via the app...

    Hello all
    We’re aware that a number of you are having problems accessing the BT Sport app. We’re looking into the specific scenarios some of you have described but we thought it would be useful to post up this general guidance as well.
    Check you’re ready to watch on the app
    If you have ordered BT Sport to watch on BT TV, YouView or Sky you should be set up to use the app as well. All you need to do is download it. You can do that by going to the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
    If you want to watch on the app or online only, not on TV
    If you are a BT Broadband customer and you just want to watch BT Sport online or via the app (not via TV) you need to activate it first. To activate, just log in to My BT, scroll down and click on BT Sport and follow the steps. If you have more than one account number in your My BT profile, remember to switch onto the one your BT Broadband is billed to.
    Thanks

    Well, it's the 10th September, and my BT Broadband is finally activated; but still no BT Sport via the Sky box
    I've tried to link my Sky viewing card to mt BT account online, but I just get the message
    "Good news!You've already got access to BT Sport. Watch online at btsport.com or via our Apple and Android apps. If you'd like to talk to us about upgrading your BT Sport Pack so you can watch via your TV please call us on 0800 731 0286."
    What? I don't want to watch on a computer or phone. I want to watch it on my TV.
    Anyway, I called the number, waited on hold for 26 minutes before being cut off.
    What is going on?

  • Can't access BT Sport via PC

    Dear BT,
    I've tried twice now to resolve this via a phone call to BT - both times I got transferred to someone who could supposedly help, but the line went dead. I've also tried via email, which is supposed to get a 24 our response, but so far nothing. I have BT telephone for the past year + BT Unlimited Broadband (ADSL) for the past 3 months.
    I tried accessing the BT Sport live streams (via sport.bt.com), but when I try I get an error message "You do not have BT Sport on this account yet. If you have recently ordered BT Sport, please allow at least 15 minutes for us to update your account. If you haven't ordered BT Sport yet, find out how to get it below.".
    I then found I needed to have the BT Sport ordered, but when I try to put the order in it comes back with "You don't have BT Broadband on this account. If you're a BT Broadband customer please check the account or login details you provided."
    Well I do have a BT Broadband account and when I spoke to BT personnel they said it looks like there is still an order in progress for my account that has not completed and this is causing the problem. Unfortunately I can't seem to get to anyone to clear this order that doesn't exist.
    Can anyone from BT please help me? I'd really like to watch BT Sport (it was one of the reasons I switched from O2 to BT rather than going to Plusnet). I'm fedup waiting on hold (or getting a callback after an hour), then speaking to someone for up to an hour and then losing the call.
    Thanks in advance...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Well after several hours listening to Mozart in BT Call Centre queues the problem has been resolved. The only problem is I am not sure how it happened!
    I explained my problem to several different call centre staff who just got me to repeat the standard method - trying to activate my BT Sport via the web but with no success.
    In the end I think one of the call centre people put in a manual order for BT Sport on my account and a little later I got an email from BT saying I had placed the order after which I could then watch BT Sport. On MyBT it now shows "I am ready to watch BT Sport".
    Well I say I could watch it - I then started getting the 6025 error messages and went through the deinstall and reinstall of Silverlight which allowed me to watch BT Sport 1 once, but never again - but that is another story!

  • Can I stream the BT Sport app to my TV?

    Can I stream the BT Sport app to my TV?
    The BT Sport app is compatible with both Apple TV and Google Chromecast devices, allowing you to watch video from the app on your television.
    For either to work, the device on which you are running the BT Sport app must be on the same Wifi network as your Apple TV or Chromecast.
    Please note, to get the best quality experience on your TV we recommend a minimum broadband line speed of 2mbps.
    Apple TV
    Apple TV set-up instructions are available here
    Once you have set up your Apple TV according to the manufacturer's instructions and put your TV on the correct HDMI channel, access the app as normal on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
    If the device senses an Apple TV on the same network, an Airplay icon (pictured) will appear in the bottom right corner of the video player.
    Tap this icon and select 'Apple TV' from the menu that appears. The video will then be sent to your television.
    When you are using Airplay functionality within the BT Sport app, the video will not also appear on the screen of your device.
    Google Chromecast
    Chromecast set-up instructions are available here
    You can 'cast' video to a Chromecast from either the iOS or Android version of the BT Sport app.
    First, set up your Chromecast according to the manufacturer's instructions and put your TV on the correct HDMI channel.
    If the device running the BT Sport app is on the same Wifi network as a fully set-up Chromecast, a casting icon appears in the top right-hand corner of the app home screen.
    When the user taps the casting icon, a pop-up window appears displaying all Chromecast devices detected. The user needs to select the Chromecast that they wish to cast to, regardless of whether they only have a single device.
    Once the device is connected to the Chromecast, the casting icon in the top right corner is illuminated blue
    When the casting icon is illuminated, it does NOT mean that the page is mirroring to your TV. It simply means that, when you do start playing a video on the app, it will cast to your TV.
    A viewer can also start casting while a video is already playing within the app, by following exactly the same process.
    When you are casting from the BT Sport app to your television, the video will not also appear on the screen of your device.
    If you are having problems streaming the BT Sport channels to your Chromecast, it is recommended that you try using the extender that is included in the Chromecast packaging, as it may be that the Chromecast is not receiving a strong enough Wifi signal from your router.
    You can find more help via this link How to stream through Chromecast on the BT Sport App
    Cheers

  • Yellow Cast to HVX200 Footage in FCP - but fine on NTSC Monitor

    Dear Folks:
    I am shooting two cameras with an HVX200 and an HMC150 in a room where the only light source is daylight-bulbed Kinoflos. The lights are fixed, as it the set. Nothing changes. There are no windows.
    I have two NTSC monitors, both set to camera bars.
    I use manual white balance. I use a big white card (a foamcore board).
    The first day, the image looked perfectly white balanced on the NTSC monitors. We ingested the footage through Final Cut Pro. It matched the look we saw on the NTSC monitors on several macs.
    The second day, however, the image had a YELLOW cast to it when ingested via Log and Transfer.
    Why would it look clean and white on the NTSC monitors and yellow on various macs?
    Thanks!

    First off, are you saying there is a difference between Day One and Day Two...? or...
    Just a difference between NTSC and mac display?
    Are there any common values in the days that can be sampled and compared numerically? For example some thing "white" in day one is R=235, G=235, B=235 and on day two is R=235, G=235, B=190?
    Two other things off the top of my head might be the white balance went away overnight (if you didn't balance again on the second day), or one of your kinos went "sour".
    Not likely but you may be getting a subtractive dynamic contrast in the shadows?
    Or, more likely, there is a white point difference between the NTSC monitors and the macs. Generally speaking, most macs set for broadcast-emulation sit around D65, while many, many ntsc monitors can range from D65 all the way up to about 9500, which is VERY blue, but your eye-brain adapts to that and then it becomes a VERY bright "white".... against which everything else will look yellow.

  • Chromecast Compatibility

    I was trying to connect my phone with the TV via chromecast and it didn´t seem to work. The TV recognized the Chromecast device but said there was no signal from the router. I have a Cisco Linksys router model WRT54G2. Are the devices compatible?

    I’m not really an expert with this, however, it is also stated in the Google list that the router should have the firmware version 1.5.01 build 008. I suggest that you verify your router’s hardware version and visit their website. There’s an available firmware for WRT54G2 version 1.5.

  • Chromecast Screen Mirroring

    Hi,
    Google released and unlocked the native screen mirroring via Chromecast. Why is SONY the only BRAND that is not listed in supported devices ? Can't be that hard to do...I buy a Flagship Device and get a knock into my face for it...Please get in contact with google to add the Z2 to the list of the supported devices ASAP!
    greetings.

    Download an app called Allcast. Works great but you have to pay about £3? after the initial trial.
    Great for watching movies from Showbox

  • BT Sport Order

    I think I've ordered online for BT Sport app but how do I check in my account that I have just to confirm it?
    Also where do I download the app?

    Firstly, I assume you don't have a Sky box? If you do then, as a BT Broadband customer, you get BT Sport for free via Satellite.
    For Youview then yes, you do need Infinity, but a basic Infinity 1 connection is sufficient.
    Look at the options here:

  • Test and trust Class.isInstance or try and catch Class.cast ?

    I found this related thread, with no answer to my question.
    In the below code, there is a certain level of redundancy in that I am checking that I can do the Class.cast() prior to doing it, via Class.isInstance().
    I can either omit the isInstance() check and just count on cast() throwing an exception, or I can ignore the ClassCastException (do nothing in the catch block, as shown below).
    Which is better? Is it faster if I just omit the instance check and let cast() detect the errors? Is there a style convention here?
        protected <T extends ParentClass> List<T> getItemsOfType(Class<T> clazz){
            List<T> retval = new ArrayList<T>();
            for(ParentClass t : items.values()){
                if(clazz.isInstance(t)){
                    try{
                        retval.add(clazz.cast(t));
                    catch(ClassCastException cce){
                        // should never happen
        }Thanks for your time

    if(clazz.isInstance(t)) retval.add(clazz.cast(t));will only add instances of the requested class, whereas
    try { retval.add(clazz.cast(t)); } catch(ClassCastException e) {} will also add null values.
