"catalina start -security" doesn't work

I downloaded Tomcat 5.0 from Sun which is used to work with WSDL 2.0. But when I try to launch Tomcat with "catalina start -security" command, nothing happened. If I try "catalina start", then it works.
Any idea would be appreciated. Thanks.

Creating a new library with 'Shift/Start iTunes' doesn't work

I'm trying to start a new library, but pressing Shift when I start itunes doesn't work. It takes me to my existing library.
I've uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, and completely deleted any other libraries.
Any ideas how I can start a new library any other way?

Perhaps I wasn't holding the shift key long enough - you presumably must keep holding it until the 'choose library' dialog actually pops up. I was releasing it after I'd clicked the 'start itunes' button.

After upgrade to Mavericks shutdown with start button doesn't work

Hallo!
I have a MacBookPro 15"/ 2,66 GHz/ Intel i7 (before upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9.x was installed):
It was always possible to press the start button for about 1 second and this opened a popup where you could chosse "shut down", "sleep" or "cancle". After the upgrade to Mavericks this function doesn't work any more. When I press the start button the MBP goes into the sleep mode.
Any idea what happened to this feature?

The feature is still there, but the power button function changed with Mavericks to be like this:
one-click = put the machine to sleep
click and hold (3 secs) = display shutdown dialog box
click and hold (10 secs) = hard power off

My start button doesn't work in Windows Pro 8.1

I installed an Windows Pro 8 to 8.1 Pro x64 on a desktop computer. Both were clean installations, no other software was installed. With Window 8.1 Pro, the start button worked for a day after all the updates, then booted the computer. Now, if I try to right
click on the Start button with the mouse; nothing happens. Thinking it was a virus, I used Windows Defender to search to the for a virus and nothing found. No other Windows updates to fix the problem! To me it just another glitch in Windows!
I updated a laptop at the same time with Windows 8 to 8.1 X64, not the Pro version. The laptop was a OEM version of Windows 8. The laptop works fine with Windows 8.1 after upgrading it.

Please try to copy WinX folder under C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows into C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows.
If it doesn't work, please run following command to repair system:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
If the issue persists, let's test the issue in New user account.
If all these steps doesn't fix your issue, please capture the actions during this process by using Process Monitor:

"Get Started" URL doesn't work...

I downloaded Oracle Database 11g Express Edition, when I click on Get Started it gives me the below error
Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 127.0.0.1:8080
I also tried using IE browser, same error pops up.Tried all that is there online, doesn't seem to work.
My OS is Windows7. Help Me, I am new to it and I need it badly

Java Web Start 6 doesn't work since today

Since today we can't use Java webstart 6
when we want to start our company program it cames following error

Java Web Start splash screen process exiting ...
Can not find message file: No such file or directory
I have reinstalled java6 several times and often reboot between the steps
it didn't fixed the problem.
we can't update to java web start 7 because our company programm doesn't support it.
So a lot of people can't work at the moment.
We have the same problem on macs running osx 10.7.5 and osx 10.8.2
Please help!

E71 - WPA2 security doesn't work with Netgear DG83...

I am unable to connect to wireless network running by Netgear DG834PN router under WPA/WPA2 security. My E61i connects perfectly however I get "No gateway reply" error with E71!

"No gateway reply" indicates that you're in fact connected. Turn off the powersaving in the WLAN settings. Tools-> settings-> connection-> WLAN-> options-> advanced settings->yes-> powersaving-> off.

A720: After Windows 8.1 upgrade, Start Button doesn't work.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo IdeaCentre A720, you cannot properly click the Start Button with a mouse. However, touching the screen works as expected.
If you put your mouse in the left-most corner of the screen, so the mouse is no longer visible, left-clicking switches between apps and right-clicking brings up the Start Button command menu.
You also cannot use the top-left corner of the screen to invoke the app-switching menu with a mouse. It never appears. However, swiping with a finger from the left-side of the screen works as expected.
It seems as though the screen is off alignment. It is preventing core features of the Windows 8 OS to be invoked with a mouse.
Please advise.

Avast 2014 was introduced with many outstanding issues and your specific concern appears to be another one of many issues that the Avast team should have picked up before making Avast 2014 generally available. However, I can tell you that my Windows 8.1 Start Button does work properly and I can attest to the fact that their latest GA release (2014.9.0.2007) has fixed all the previous issues that were identified and posted at the Avast forums.
Also, since this latest version was first made available via a CNET download on 11/1/2013, it could just be that you missed that fix by just a few days. In any event, to ensure there are no conflicts when trying to update from v2006 to v2007, I would suggest the followiing:
Download aswclear and do a cleanuninstall:

Then, download the latest Avast vesion here and see if your issue persists:

Matrix Editor & Multiple Regions: Moving Note Start Earlier Doesn't Work

Hi,
When viewing multiple regions in the Matrix editor, I can't move the start time of a note to the left (leaving the end position the same). This move works just fine when viewing a single region in Matrix.
Funny thing is that although the note won't budge, the move is listed in the Undo History as "Undo Left Corner Change".
Feels like a bug, but before I go there...
Can anyone confirm this behavior? It would be great to know if it happens in 7.1.1 as well as 7.2.3.

Folder security doesn't work

at customer:
created a content area (public) with two folders. one folders is public, one is NOT public.
when i am not logged in I only get the public folder. when I am logged in with any new user (no memeber of any group) I get both folders.
What's wrong? Any hint?
Item level security works fine.

You are (by definition) member of the group AUTHENTICATED_USERS. Is this group authorized to view items in the non-public folder?

Start Menu doesn't work since 10041

On build 10041, I was unable to access the modern Mail app. So I tried these instructions to fix it...
Open powershell as administrator
Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage
–online
Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
After doing this, I noticed that I can no longer use the Start Menu. Nothing happens when I click it. I can't say for sure if the above commands broke the Start Menu or if it just broke with the build upgrade.
Since then, I have upgraded to 10049 and I still have no Start Menu.
When I log in as another user, the Start Menu works.
I know there is at least one other thread on this, but they seem to specify that it has to do with the built-in administartor account and it also has taskbar issues. I don't. Besides, the suggestions in that thread were not helpful to me.

For the start menu, have you tried to re-register it using administrative
Windows PowerShell? Copy the following and hit enter
Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + “\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml”)}
When the cmd is completely, you can close the PowerShell window and reboot the machine, check the result.

May be this is unnecessary to say. Behalve your listener also the database where your management server repository resides has to be open. Then start the management server with the following command:
"oemctrl start oms sysman/oem_temp@<name of your machine>" (so replace name of your machine). Should be working if you can open your database.

Start Menu doesn't work properly - feedback

So if you log in as BUILTIN\Administrator, windows apps don't work in Windows 8.1
This has been expanded to various critical parts of the OS, like the Start Menu in Windows 10.
To put it mildly, this is completely bonkers and needs to be re-engineered (or finished).
Also it kills the various ways of removing bloatware apps from Windows 8.1
Say you had a variety of bloatware on your OEM Windows 8.1 PC, such as a lot of the crap Dell, etc. load onto OEM PCs, one way I had of removing them was to run the following script: get-appxpackage|remove-appxpackage
As Windows Store and other vital bits couldn't be removed, that wiped off the bloatware. Now, if I run that on the Windows 10 preview, it removes the Start Menu and other critical parts of the OS!
It seems obvious that the additional parts of the OS in Windows 10 that are appxpackages such as the Start Menu should be in the same category as Windows Store - i.e. they can't be uninstalled.
I have no doubt that was the plan but could you move the plan forward please as it cripples the OS at present because you can't use the Start Menu logged in as BUILTIN\Administrator

Ctrl-K to go to start page doesn't work anymore

Hitting Ctrl-K anytime in Firefox always used to bring www.google.com. I updated to the new FF 8.0, and now Ctrl-K does nothing at all. Disabling add-ons didn't do anything.
