Catalog Replication without TREX

Can I replicate a catalog without using TREX?

Hello R.N
When you say replicate are you meaning copy or publish ? If it is copy, you still have to publish to really use it. When you publish, you are creating and writing the indexes in TREX with some additional information in the TREX. So, publish can not be separated from TREX.

  • Runtime error Raise Exception Initial Product Catalog Replication

    Dear All,
We are on CRM ISA MSA 5.0 SP8 & Trex 7 SP 30. Ours is a 3 system landscape. CRM Dev, Q, & P. Recently we added a new system in the landscape for Intergration Testing purpose. and its called as CRI which is a copy of the production Crm box.
I did all the post installation activitiese and did all Connections (sm59, srmo) between Trex and CRM. After the connection was made, the RFC, SSR are all working fine.
I did the settings in spro for the product catalog replication, created the ssr and then did a initial replication without document and it worked fine. I then did a replication with documents, I am getting a runtime error, RAISE_EXCEPTION. All the connections between the crm and trex box are working fine. everything is pinging, the FTP user has all the access on the IMS_DOCS_A5C folder.
Can someone please let me know what the issue could be?
    Awaiting a postive response.
    Thanks in advance.
    Warm Regards,
    Rajeet Mathur

    Hi Rajeet,
The intitial replication  transports product catalog data (for example, product items or text) to the index server. You can replicate all or individual product catalog variants. The replicated product catalog contents are transferred from the index server to the Web server. The product catalog contents are then available in the E-Commerce application. Multimedia objects are transferred from the product catalog to the Knowledge Provider Content Server and are subsequently published on the Web server.
As you said that after you put in the documents the repliaction gives a runitme error, I beleive the replication to the contect server is giving problems.
    1. Have you created templates for folder and assigned them to the catalog types for the attachement of documents.
    2. While replication are you specifying the Publishing computer ID  with the checkbox transfer Document content ticked.
    Check in these details.

  • Payload search without TREX

We have around thousand messages thru PI and need to search a particular field in the xml payload in PI like name, city etc, is there a way to get that message without using TREX, thanks

    Hi,
Without trex you can use this weblog and can able to search the messages:
    /people/alessandro.guarneri/blog/2006/02/14/super-message-monitor-for-sap-xi
else you can use suggestion 3 from michal in this thread:
    search material in payload
else you can come up with this report:

  • Using Solution Database (IS01) in SolMan without TREX

    Hi all,
I just wanted to use the solution database within SolMan, which comes with the standard CRM functionality (IS01). Unfortunately I always receive dumps when creating (SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC) and searching (OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO) for problems and solutions.
Afterwards I found that the installation of the TREX server is required and this is maybe the reason. Is this true?
How can I run the solution database without the installation of a TREX? Is this possible?
    Please help.
Thank you very much in advance, and have a nice weekend.
    Stefan Bauert

    Hello Charan,
Thank you very much for your feedback!
I went through the wizard of TCode "CRMC_SAF_WZ_SE" and entered requested program, but I was leaving detailed data for http and so on blank.
After that I went to TCode "CRMC_SAF_ADV_CLIENT" and wanted to enter the recommended description to "Learning Enginge Description". The following 2 entries already exist:
    DEFAULT_ASPR     Spreading Activation
    DEFAULT_PURE     Pure Correlation
Do I need to enter a new entry, or just paste the program name into one of these entries?
However the creation of a problem is still failing with dump OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED.
Finally my question: If I do not want to use the service desk for this, can I use the solution DB without TREX?
    thanks and regards

  • KM Search without TREX

    Hi.,
One of the customers would like to know if any document
search is possible without using TREX.
    Can anyone explain on this.
    regards
    JohnP

    Hi JohnP,
searching without Trex is technically possible, but KM is required for such a scenario. You can "simply" develop an IndexService (Search) for KM's Indexmanagement layer connecting any search engine and plug it into the framework. Leave the TREX IndexService empty (not TREX configuration) and you will be able to search upon your IndexService resp. to your search engine.

    Hi Manish,
Are you talking about implementing succession planning using eRecruiting which a talent development specialist can do? If so, then TREX is required for search. All the serach related applications requires.
One of the critical steps in a succession planning process is to assign potential candidates for a job to a requisition(succession plan) & then evaluate them. This CANNOT happen without TREX. Only after you search candidates, you can assign them to a plan.
There are a host of things you can still do in eRecruiting without TREX but without this, the process is not complete.
Unless the succession planning process is vastly different from what SAP provides & you are willing to develop an elaborate application to cater to your needs, TREX is required in eRecruiting for succession planning.

  • Succession Planning without TREX

    Hi,
We want to use the succession planning feature from the Talent Development Specialist business package. From what I'm finding it looks like TREX is necessary for succession planning because otherwise we cannot do a candidate search to assign candidates to the succession plan. I wanted to know if it is possible without a TREX. Also what feature of succession planning can be used/not used without TREX. I'm not able to find much documentation on this.

  • Loading catalog files to catalog database without EIS Console

    Hi
Does anybody know how to import XML catalog files (previously to exported) to a new catalog database without using EIS Console please?
    Regards
    Chandra

It's been a while since I've used it but there should be an impexp.bat file in your EIS\bin folder.
You can use this to import and export your models and metaoutlines to xml. It's a bit of a bolt-on tool that they developped after EIS because it just uses jdbc to pull out the information directly out of the EIS catalog. Infact the impexp.bat completely bypasses the EIS server.
    Hope it helps.

  • Specific Search Without TREX

    Dear all,
I've a KM directory that have many files, so I need to filter this by date or a custom attribute, have some possibility to do it without use TREX?
    Best regards

    Hi,
It is absolutely possible using KM API'S in java webdynpro or PDK.
Simple Logic would be ask user to give some value, get resource (file) from your folder, compare custom property value to user input value.
Refer foillowing link for more info :

  • Presentation Catalog Replication 10.1.3.x

I believe that replicating the Presentation Catalogs is still supported in BIEE 10.1.3.x and is one alternative to having a shared file system for a single catalog.
However, a contact has told me that the replication is problematic. Does anyone know what issues, if any, with replication of the presentation catalog ?
    Thanks

With "x64" I assume you are on some x64 edition of Windows Server.
Please see the Installation Guide. It is a must read.
In the chapter about requirements (AS 10.1.3 for Windows), it says
"The 32-bit version of Oracle Application Server for Windows runs on Intel x86, AMD64, and Intel EM64T processors. For additional information, visit OracleMetaLink at http://metalink.oracle.com"

  • SRM Contract Catalog - Creation without XI  - is that possible?

    Hi,
    I am working with a customer on SRM 4.0 / CCM 2.0 / Business Connector 4.7 ( standalone scenario ).
We need to have contract catalogs in our system.
So I read the post from Waheed Mohammad with similar request, but the different is, that I don´t have XI and I do not know what the business scenario "MasterDataInclusion" is
Does anybody know, if SRM Contract Catalog Creation works with Business Connector 4.7 too?!
And what settings have to be done?!
Would be glad, if someone could give me a hint.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hello Jason,
    thanks, I suspect it !

  • Can't stop oracle replication without affecting existing table...

    Hi All,
I am facing some problem with oracle replication set up. I have a replication set up already running fine. There is a table called Emp_temp in the replication group which is in ASYNCHRONOUS mode(replicating data for every 15 min). My application is writing data into this table which is in primary server (there are only two servers in the set up i.e. primary and secondary).
I want to stop the replication but my application should keep on writing to Emp_temp table even after replication stopped. But when I stopped the replication (through oemapp GUI) my application is throwing errors stating that it could not commit to that table. Can anyone tell me how to gracefully stop the replication? Is there any way even after stopping the replication application can continue writing to the Emp_temp table?
My application talks to the Oracle using OCI.
Error in my application log is: "Error ORA-23326: object group "PUBLIC"."ASYNCH" is quiesced"
Oracle Version using: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
    OS: Solaris 10
Your early reply is highly appreciated
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Iqbal

    Hello
Yes, breaking the PUSH job would be the only solution. In multimaster replication the changes are applied on the remote site through the PUSH job hence you should mark this job as BROKEN to stop the replication.
If you QUIESCE (or SUSPEND) the replication group via OEM, then it would not allow any DML changes to the tables in the replication group. Hence you should break the PUSH job instead of SUSPENDing the Replication Group.
Again, you should re-enable the PUSH job at the earliest else the base queues for replication would grow very fast in a high OLTP system. Once these queues have grown considerably then that could raise performance problems with the PUSH job.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Rijesh
