Catalogue locked in Elements 10

When trying to open Elements, message comes up saying 'catalogue locked by another process'. Tried rebooting, same thing. No other programmes open. Tried opening a photo from Windows file and it opened in Editor, when I tried clicking Organizer screen went white. Eventually got the Organizer screen open but all my folders have no thumbnails in. Tried doing a repair and message saying not possible. Any help please?

To answer my own question, about an hour later the Organizer opened and the thumbnails were back in the folders. Does anyone have any explanation of what the problem was?

How to lock wbs element

The requirement is to lock the wbs element when the user process/run that particular WBS. If the user exit to the report program, then that is the time that the other user can be able to process the WBS.

There is no BAPI or function module to lock on unlock a WBS element.Goto Tansaction CJ02,put in the WBS element and repsetive project.
in CJ02, go to EDIT->STATUS->LOCK/UNLOCK.

Transferring catalogues from Photoshop Elements 5 to Photoshop Elements 9

The process should be an easy one -- BUT, my new copy of Elements 9 does not list under the FILE column, anything that looks like or works like "Catalogue".
Instead of the listing as per the Adobe tutorial as follows: FILE (then) Get Photos & Videos, (or) New, (or) Open recently edited in Editor, (or) Catalogue
My new software lists the following: FILE (then) New, (or) Open, (or) Open As, (or) Open recently Edited File, (or) Duplicate.
[No sign of Catalogue to be found anywhere -- hence impossible to transfer files/catalogues.]
Note: I use elements for its catalogue function with Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5. New camera required updated RAW-read ability from the old Elements 5.

So strange -- Elements 5 Catalogue was so clear, so obvious. Elements 9
appears to revel in its obscureness. Actually, at the time I wrote of my
confusion I was in the Organizer all along. BUT, I've yet to find a way of
showing a horizontal task bar, as in Elements 5. There is a (too) clever
virtually hidden chevron in dark gray about 1/4 distance from the top left,
which when clicked on provides a drop down menu with all required options
-- instead of the always obvious horizontal task bar. What could they
possibly have been thinking?
Anyway, as I said in my initial plea for help, my only reason for doing all
this was to be able to collect Canon RAW images from the 5DII -- into the
elements catalogues. That in fact does work now. However, no doubt I'll
be deferring to Adobe Bridge CS5 much more for storage and retrieval.
Elements 9 has little to recommend it for me. What do the great unwashed
say about "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?"

Photos are "locked" in Elements 9, Smugmug browser can't find them

Hello:
I use Elements 9. Sonehow all the photos for the first day of my vacation (11/4/10) have a lock symbol in the lower right hand corner when view in Organizer date view. I want to add some of these to my Smugmug program, but the Smugmug browser can't find them.
How do I "unlock" these picutures? Neither Elements 9 Help of the "Dummies" book says anything about images being "locked".

Did you get the answer to this problem? I am finding it happening with 2 of my Elements students. I am not referring to the locked background layer. The entire image is locked.

Can I import a catalogue from Photoshop Elements to Photoshop CS5

I have 5000 photos organised in catalogues in my old Elements and have just upgraded to Photoshop CS5 Extended edition running under Windows 7 64 bit. Is it possible to import my existing catalogues into CS5 or do I need to recreate them all again?

Probably not... most DVR makers code to the hard drive in a proprietary format that will not work in any other DVR
You may be able to PLAY the video out to an external recording device, such as a VCR or a DVD recorder
Or, for a computer, you may be able to use a converter such as at http://www.grassvalley.com/products/converters

Locking page elements

I need help with the following.
I am using multi page tab control in my application. The page
has text box, radio buttons, check boxes and drop downs. After user
submits the page I want to lock the data elements for update but
want to keep the previous and next button enable for navigation and
review the data. Is there any easy way to achieve this without
having to set the property for each and every data element on the
page? I tried to disable the tab, which disabled the navigation
options.

I would think that by default Flex will retain the values
that were entered for the controls on the various tab pages. If you
don't reset them then after submitting the values should be there.
Maybe I don't have a clear enough picture of the issue and the
workflow.

Catalogue transfert from Element 7 to 11

I made a catalogue transfert from Photoshop Element 7 to Photoshop Element 11 (and 9) The labels " face of Paul, Face of Peter, ..." exist, but the labels are empty of the pictures marqued by 'Paul Visage, Peter Visage, ...".

The other method is to go to the criteria sheet in the FSG via ADI and change the parameters to point to the new instance. This is possible if you are in GUI 10.7 using GLDI.

Lock Cost Element into a WBE element

Hi all,
I want to lock all movements (CO-FI-MM) for a WBE with a Cost Element. How to do this? It's possible with a GGB0 validation?
I'm thinking about put the Cost Element code in a WBE master data field (I don't know which one yet). Then create a validation that check in Co tables that all costs movements (not budgeting) for a WBE element has the correct cost element.

You cannot assign cost element in WBSE master data. What you should do is? If the CO document contains is posted with that cost element then check If WBSE is entered as the CO object.
On the other end: I want to lock a WBS with a Cost Element, not to lock a Cost Element with a WBS.
I want to put the Cost Element in a WBS master data field (like Responisble o something like this eith a Char10 domain) and check if posting in a WBS element, if KSTAR field of the CO document is equal to Responsible Field in the WBS element

Corrupt catalogue in organiser (elements 11)

When I try to add a rating to an image, i get an error message: the requested change could not be completed because the catalog is corrupt. Youcan attempt to repair in file - catalog. I have tried to fix, but to no avail. Can anyone help. Simon

Try repairing the catalog. The catalog can be repaired by going to File->Manage Catalogs. Select the current catalog and then repair/optimize the catalog.

Elements 11 Can't Find My Catalogues

Having successfully restored 2 catalogues from PS Elements 6 backups on an EHD, I was quite happy working in the last restored catalogue, but on trying to revert to the earlier transferred catalogue, (that I had fully viewed and verified in PS 11 after the original restore), I note that neither of my 2 catalogs appear in the available catalog list when using the Manage Catalog command. This is particularly strange as the correct location of the catalog I'm currently using shows in the System Info. I have tried all 3 options for locating the catalogs (that are stored in hidden folders in My Pictures, rather than the default location) and getting them to list in the Manage Catalogs window without success. In using the Browse option I first tried specifying My Pictures as the location of the catalogs with the Catalogue folders hidden, and then in desperation unhiding them and specifying the hidden folders themselves, but nothing comes up. Help.

Go to your hidden folder for the catalog you want in My Pictures.
Find the following file:
catalog.pse11db
Right-click on that file and choose: Open

Photoshop Elements Organizer Catalogues

I have several different catalogues within the Elements Organizer 9. I recently restored one catalog from a DVD backup. Now, none of my catalogs are availabe for viewing. There doesn't seem to be an option anywhere within the catalog menu for locating the other ones. I didn't back those ones up, as there should be no reason for them to completely disappear. The two shown in the image below are the one that I restored and the other's blank. Is there something that I need to do to bring they other catalogues back? I'm assuming they must still exist, and it would be a pain to re-tag all of the thousands of images within each of the different catalogues. If you need more clarification, let me know.

Thank you so much, that helped me to locate the catologues. I can now open them from there, although if I open one, they all still don't show up in the catologue menu. How can I lock elements without specialization?

I dont want to allocate all DITA elements in FrameMaker. The technical writer should not be able to use the element shortdesc. But I
dont want to specialize DITA and I dont want to delete the element.
I know, that I can change the file "rule" with the command "element x drop", but it doesnt work.

Hi Nina...
The "drop" command in a rules file doesn't change the elements that are available in FM, it just deletes that element on the way into or out of FM.
I don't think that there's a way to "lock" an element (meaning have it visible in the element catalog, but not usable). If you want to restrict the elements that can be used in FM, you'll need to edit the EDD and remove those elements that you don't want to use. I've done this for a number of clients and it works very well. It doesn't require that you "specialize" or modify the DTDs at all, just the EDD. The best way to do this is to conditionalize and hide the element definitions (and references to those elements in a general rule). That way you can hide the elements you don't want, but you can easily bring them back as needed.

I am consolidating Elements 9 and 10 catalogues.

How do I import the old (version 9) catalogue into the Elements 10 catalog I have been running? I have just completed writing all tags and metadata to each catalogue.
Do I go to File dropdown menu, and then what? any help much appreciated....

what if you are moving files from Elements to Lightroom or CS6?
I don't understand this statement in the context of the original question.
Are you in fact using PSE9 and PSE10 and Lightroom together? If so, what are the goals you have in using these three pieces of software? This has not been stated (in fact, Lightroom was not mentioned in your opening statement)

I don't think so at all. I have no opinion on the whether you should consolidate your catalogs. It seems however, like you think you need to do this (again, from reading your opening statement), in which case, if that's correct, then I can provide help in doing so.
