Catch call park in JTAPI

I've written my own call log in JTAPI with certain advantages over Cisco's own. Last Friday I discovered a little snag: If I park a call, then pick it up again, I have an outgoing call to the park number in my list of calls, and the person on the other end has one additional incoming call in the list.
I quickly started jTrace to check if there's any way I could prevent that. Currently I'm using ConnConnectedEvs to catch the "the call has been answered" event. I noted that if I used the corresponding CallControl event, I'd actually get the CallControlCause (which can be Park.. so those could be excluded). But then the problems started:
I have 3 of those events: 2 on the phone that gets the parked call (one with CallControlCause normal (=the call to the pickup number), and one with CallControlCause park (the destination is the other end of the parked call)). At the other end I have one event with CallControlCause park.
On top of that, the source of the event is switched.. with ConnConnected I see my own extension (so the event that phone A gets, has the line on A as source), whereas with CallControl, the situation is reversed.
An obvious solution would be to look for pickup numbers for outgoing calls, but that's only half of it (and for the phone on the other end there's no indication of that pickup number) so I'm wondering if anybody has an idea how this scenario could be handled without adding a lot of additional "keeping track of call status" code.

Imad,
are you able to replicate this every single time ? When you see the double parked call, are you able to retrieve it back by clicking any of the two ?
Also see if you can install the AC software in two diff PCs and consistently replicate the problem. I would recommend opening a tac case if the results of the above test is consistent...

    Can you confirm:
Because you ran the update with Windows Update, when you say run the Lync powershell do you mean:
    Install-CsDatabase -ConfiguredDatabases -SqlServerFqdn SE.FQDN -Verbose
If you download LyncServerUpdateInstaller.exe from the following article and run it just to check updates, does it show updates are available?
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2809243
I'd strongly suggest just getting this server up to date.

  • MOH not working in Directed call park

    Hello All,
After upgrading the voice gateway from 15.1(2)T2 to15.1(3)T4 im facing this issue.
MOH is not working in Directed call park. We have 10 Directed call park numbers 100-109, users are parking the calls by pressing trasfer key (transfer key-->dial 100-->transfer key). The Music is stopped playing after the user presses the transfer key for the 2nd time. MOH is working fine in hold and call  park. I can see the MOH session in Show ccm-manager music-on-hold and the same MOH session is continuing after pressing the transfer for the 2nd time, only the music is stopping. There are some sites in the same cluster which MOH working in all conditons but the router is rnning with
Using: 2900 series voice gateway with H.323, Centralized cluster.
    Assistace will be musch appricidated

  • Directed call park number recommendations

    Hi,
This is more of a design question about numbering plans, but here it goes.  I have configured our sites to use 4 digit internal numbers, and I have matched the call park numbers to the prefix of the internal numbers for each location.  eg.
    location A: 30xx
    location B: 32xx
    location C: 40xx
    location D: 44xx
    etc...
    Directed call park numbers:
    location A: 301, 302
    location B: 321
    location C: 401,402
    location D: 441,442
This has worked fine up until people wanted to start parking calls on phones that do not have the blf directed call park button.  The interdigit timeout now conflicts with my numbering plan, because 441, could be 4410 in location D.  So people are trying to park calls by just transfering the call to 441, but they have to wait for the 10 second timout to occur before they can complete the transfer.  I was thinking of just changing the call park numbers, but I would have to use a 4 digit number instead of a 3 digit number.
    Dan.

I am having the same issue. The media resource group that is assigned to the gateway DOES include the Media Resource Group that includes the MoH server.
Anyone have any idea why else the external callers would here ringing?
    Thanks.

  • Directed call park MOH

We have installed a multi-tenant solution. Two of the tenants use their own separate MOH audio sources for their devices. Both tenants would like directed call park numbers that need to be separate from each other. They would like their directed call parks to play their own music on hold audio source.
    1. I can't seem to find a way to change the directed call park MOH without changing the default MOH settings in the service parameters. Is there another way to do this?
    2. Is there a way to specify different MOH audio sources for different directed call park DNs?
    3. The callmanagers are version 6.1.3. If there is no way to have different MOH for directed call parks in callmanager version 6 is there a way to do it in callmanager version 7?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Call park using fxs port on spa9000

I have seen this question asked several times but no seems have answered it.
Is it possible to enter a service code to park a call using an analogue phone. If it is, please share what is the service code and the procedure.
I have a spa9000 with pstn (spa3002, spa400) and exts spa-942,xlite and spa2102/pap2. Everything works fine on the 942 phones and the xlite softphones but cant get more that the *98 transfer feature working on the analog phones.

Not so sure if the service code being utilize by the FXS is the same as what is mentioned in VSA.Then again, the manual says "dial the corresponding * code on the client station" and if you look at an SPA9xx phone, it has the following codes defined for call park and call unpark code.
    *38
    *39

  • Call Park Problem

    Greetings,
I have a range of call park number defined as such 2[0-4]. All of the numbers work except 23. When I pick up and dial 23 to pickup a call park nothing happens.
Can anybody determine why or help me start to troubleshoot?
    Thanks!!!

Are you sure 23 isn't being used by something else? Do a route plan report and see if 23 is being used by something else.

  • Call Park service causing high CPU usage

    Hi,
I've got a Lync 2013 pool with 4 servers running.  Everything is working fine except I notice that when I enable the call park service, the CPU usage goes from hovering at around 4% to jumping all over the place (anything from 11% to 30%).  I've
not seen this behaviour on any other Lync platform I have deployed.
All machines are virtuals, running 2 Sockets with 8 cores each.  Each server has 25GB of RAM.  Any perfmon report I run only confirm that the Call Park Service is using a lot of CPU resource (compared with other services)
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mike

Please check if the CPU usage drops down when you stop the call park service.
Please check the Call Park Configurations are correct by articles at

  • Unable to perform call transfer or call park for an outbound call via SIP Trunk (SKYPE)

We have configured the SIP Trunk & SIP profile and successfull make outbound call through SIP Trunk (SKYPE). However, we are not able to perform call transfer or call park when the call is connected.
    The scenario is:
A call to an phone number via SIP trunk, when call established, A perform call-transfer to B. After the call-transfer, the call Drop and Phone B show error code "Temp Fail"
When i select "enable MTP" in SIP trunk, we are able to call transfer and call park. But it limit the number of call session to 1.

You are probably running into some sort of Codec issue.  IE, your phone is G.711 and the trunk is G.729. You will need to transcode the call at somepoint.

  • Forwarded calls are not "call-parked"

    Dear Lync experts,
please could You help me that the following scenario is not possible or I need to change some config parameter:
    - there are two extensions ("A" and "B")
    - a call park group was defined and both extension were added to this call-park group (call pickup group)
    - extension "A" was forwarded to extension "B" (using Lync client- Call Forwarding - Forward my call to- Delegate "B")
    - there is an incoming call to "A", it is ringing at "B" (because of the forward option), but dialing the call-park-group number we are not able to pickup this call.... I do not understand why?!
    Thanks in advance:
    Norbert

    Hi,
Would you please tell us why you want to forward call to another account in the same call park group?
Base on my understanding, if cancel the call forwarding, other users could pick up the call. Please check if it works after cancelling call forwarding setting. Please check if the issue still happen when cancelling call forwarding.

  • Catching calls to undefined class properties

I have asked this question on Flex General Discussion forum,
but I think it is more to Action Script question.
So, I have a class and want to catch calls to properties that
are undefined inside class definition. I need to know what is the
property (method or variable) name that has been called if it is
    not defined in that class.
    What practice should I use?
    Thanks.

Looked at your link... still not sure what you're trying to
do... maybe it's just a syntax problem.
Do you mean you want to catch something like this:
    Class A {
    public var exists:Boolean
//public var doesNotExist:Boolean <- not defined in this
    Class
    Class B {
    var a:A = new A();
    a.exists = true; //no probelm
a.doesNotExist = true; // will generate an error. catch this
error here or in the Class A instance ?
if you use Try/Catch you can only catch the property calls in
Class B. If you want to catch them inside of Class A... well... you
may have to use Proxy. Or else you might look into dynamic classes.
I have never used a dynamic class (since AS 1.0 anyway) so I can't
tell you if that will help you or not. :-( All I know is that a
dynamic class will not generate an error if you set a previously
undefined property on it (same as Object).

  • How to catch ALL call events with JTAPI

    Hi,
I have my JTAPI application witch is listening for ALL calls that are placed on CUCM system. Based on this information this software is making some routing decisions. At present getting the information about all calls is very inconvenient - I have to track all events from all phones, so my CTI user has to have ALL phones on its Controlled Devices List.
Is there more intelligent way of getting all call events without controlling every single device? I am interested in any version of CM or CUCM.

    CCIE #18338 Voice

According to the documentation, lineMonitorTones should be available (though that's the 7.0 documentation I'm looking at) - going through a wrapper always add another place where things can go wrong. E.g. we're supposed to get device state events with the latest version but when I tried I still got nothing. If you can handle tapi browser you might want to try it and see if it works, and if so, get in touch with the developer of the lib (I did once... really nice and helpful guy).
Alternatively, there's no need to catch digits.. you may not even be able to terminate the call in the status you're looking at so you could just listen to call events and get the first one where the call actually starts (as in "all digits dialed") and terminate it then.. it probably won't make much of a difference either unless you want to prevent people from making certain calls and cut them off after a few digits.. but that is better done using partitions and css.. they are meant to prevent people from calling certain numbers and it would be ill advised to duplicate this functionality in your own software (which after all could fail every now and then.. or the app could lose the connection to the server, etc.)

  • Avaya calls to CUCM 8.6: Call Park/Hold Fail

This may be similar to the issue I posted here:  https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3496110#3496110
4 digit dialing from an Avaya system to a CUCM 8.6.2 server works fine, the Avaya is set as an h.323 gateway in CUCM.
Once the call is active if the Cisco phone places the Avaya caller on hold they hear no hold music and the call stays active until the Cisco phone tries to retrieve it.  Then it's a fast busy on both end.
The same thing happens with calls placed on park.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
Are you using G711 or G729 for these calls? If using G729 the CUCM software MTP cannot be used as it only supports g711, you would have to use a gateway-based MTP.
Try setting the calls to G711 to see if it works as a test.
