Categorization of the field & using as a filter
Hello All,
I have a field "BIN" in the database. BIN is 17 digit Alpha Numeric Ex: "1FADP5CU3DL511124" . Look at the letters 5, 6 & 7 highlighted in red color.
If letters in the position 5,6 & 7 is P5C or POP or POS then i need to categorize BIN to a category called 'P'.
If letters in the position 5,6 & 7 is P3R then i need to categorize BIN to a category called 'B'.
After categorizing the BIN field, i need to use the field as filter and the filter should have 'P', 'B' & 'All' (Incase client would like to see all category).
How can we do this?
Best Regards
Sandeep
Here's what you need to do:
1) Go to Field Explorer > Right-click the 'SQL Expression Fields' > New > Name it 'Bins' and use this code:
SELECT CASE
WHEN CHARINDEX('P3R',Substring("Bin"."Bin",5,3)) > 0
THEN 'B'
WHEN CHARINDEX('P5C',Substring("Bin"."Bin",5,3)) > 0
OR CHARINDEX('POP',Substring("Bin"."Bin",5,3)) > 0
OR CHARINDEX('POS',Substring("Bin"."Bin",5,3)) > 0
THEN 'P'
END
where "Bin" is the table name and "Bin" is Field Name.
2) Create a Static Prompt with these values:
P
B
All
3) Go to the Group expert and create a Group on the SQL Expression field you created in Step 1
4) Go to the Report > Selection Formulas > Record and use this code:
{?Bin_Prompt} = {%Bins} OR {?Bin_Prompt} = 'All'

Required to know the fields which can be filter inactive materials.
Dear experts,
I am loading data for 0Material from the R/3 system.
As per customer requirement I need to filter inactive Materials while loading the data.
Do you know any field or flag to filter the inactive Materials in the Data source fields?
Thanks in advance.Hi Kavitha,
"Inactive Materials" means those materials, marked for deletion ?
if yes then there is a field in MARA table MARA-LVORM.
you can use start routine in transformation to delete material where MARA-LVORM = 'D', while data loading.
Check your data source (0MATERIAL_ATTR) in RSA6, if LVORM is hidden then unhide.
Hope this will halp to solve your problem.
Regards,
Kiran -
If some fields of tables in database contain html tags such as 'H2O' (here is html tag 'sub') or 'some<b>text</b>'(here is html tag 'b') how can I to make Report Builder 6i to understand these tags or at least don't show them?
Or how in another way can I format a part of text inside the field?
thanx before
MaxHi Maxim,
If the output is PDF, the only way is to filter the incoming values yourself. You will need to create a PL/SQL column and remove the HTML markup tags. This, of course, leaves you without attributes you wanted in text (ie: the no "Bold" characters). You can still do this in with the same report basing the output from the PL/SQl formula column on the "desformat" input parameter.
Reports doesn't have any "markup" capability. ie: A field only has one font & one colour. You can have multiple fonts for boilerplate text but, again, only a single colour.

The Curspr doesn't shown in the fields , using Jinitiator ! PLEASE HELP
Hi firends
fro shwing forms in the client's browser , when i use
Oracle JInitiator my big problem is that the cursor doesn't shown
in the fields and i don't have clipboard action like Selection ,
Copy , and Paste on the fields !RoboHelp does not support Chrome, even the current version. You could see if your help works with the current version by using the trial but do not load it on your production machine as you will likely encounter problems if you revert to X5. If it does not work, you're out of luck.

How to hide the field using internalname or directly without using SPD
Hi there,
I like to customize my form and hide some fields using the InternalName; it would be great if you can provide me tips / instructions.
PS: I dont have SharePoint Designer access; so please provide suggestions without using SPD 2010
Thanks
DMlvYou can do it using jquery based on Title attribute of the field by adding content editor webpart on the form and writing your jquery there. Will that be fine with you ?
If yes below are the pointers

Goto the transaction EEWC for setting the system type as development system. This has to be done before you carry out the enhancement.
1. First go to TCode "EEWB".
2. Create the Project and save the same.
3. Open the project and right click on it and create the extension.
4. Give some suitable name and description for your extension.
5. Select the business object for enhancement(for e.g. business transaction orBP).
6. Select the extension type (for e.g.adding new fields).
7. Based on the above selected parameters a wizard will appear.
8. Complete the steps as per wizard.
9. And finally generate the project
Note: Make sure that you check the systems relevant(R/3 or BW)

Any suggestions on how to remove an "aura" from around a selection in an image? I shoot pictures at rodeos. To make the rider stand out, I create a mask around the rider and then blur the background with Gaussian Blur. This results in a noticeable blur around the outside of the selection. I have tried using Feathering as well as other Refine Edge Tools. The only thing that works is to go around the edge with the Clone Tool. This is time consuming and not totally successful. So, my two big questions are: (1) Is there a better (simpler) way to avoid the aura? and (2) If not, is there a way to remove the aura that is simpler??
Thanks in Advance,
Art SchwartzSorry, what with the long title I had neglected the body of the message and your statement
The only thing that works is to go around the edge with the Clone Tool. This is time consuming and not totally successful.
seems to answer my first question.
Did you do that before or after blurring?
Have you alternatively tried using Content Aware Fill? -
How to get the handle of all text fields in the subforms, using script
Hi Friends,
I have around 20 fields in a subform, how can i get the names of all the fields using script.
I wish to enhance the following script where the field names are hard coded
thereby the script itself will get the names of the field names.
var f1 = this.parent.somExpression + ".TextField2" + ",";
var f2 = f1 + this.parent.somExpression + ".DropDownList1" + ",";
var f3 = f2 + this.parent.somExpression + ".NumericField1";
xfa.host.resetData(f3);
Any help will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
JJHi Paul,
Thanks for your comments.
I achieved the clear contents by resetting, by taking input from your thoughts..
form1.sub1.sub2.sub3.table_1.addDelete_Top.addDelete.deleteRow::click - (JavaScript, client)
//Here is my code finally look like..
//row 1, table_1 are also subforms
for (var i=1;i<10;i++){
var myRow = this.resolveNode("table_1.row1[" + i + "]");
if(myRow.presence == "hidden"){
i = i-1;
var myRowDelete = this.resolveNode("table_1.row1[" + i + "]");
if(i!=0){
xfa.host.resetData(myRowDelete.somExpression);
myRowDelete.presence = "hidden";
break;
if(i==9){
xfa.host.resetData(myRow.somExpression);
myRow.presence = "hidden";
break;
Thanks

Identifying fields used in all reports held on the database
Is there a way or tool that will allow me to identify all the fields used in all of the reports that we have saved to the database via Discover Desktop / Plus?
This would be handy so we can see what reports would be affected if an item within the End User Layer was changed.
Grateful for any help on this matter.Hi
It is pretty hard to get a list of what items are in a report that is sitting in the database. However, if you have the gatheirng of statistics enabled, every time a workbook is run Discoverer stores what happened in the table called EUL5_QPP_STATS. If you take a look at the following script it might help:
SELECT
QS.QS_DOC_OWNER USER_NAME,
QS.QS_DOC_NAME WORKBOOK,
QS.QS_DOC_DETAILS WORKSHEET,
TRUNC(QS.QS_CREATED_DATE) DOC_DATE,
(LENGTH(TO_CHAR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID)))+1)/9 ITEMS,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),1, 6)) ITEM1,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),10, 6)) ITEM2,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),19, 6)) ITEM3,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),28, 6)) ITEM4,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),37, 6)) ITEM5,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),46, 6)) ITEM6,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),55, 6)) ITEM7,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),64, 6)) ITEM8,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),73, 6)) ITEM9,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),82, 6)) ITEM10,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),91, 6)) ITEM11,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),100,6)) ITEM12,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),109,6)) ITEM13,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),118,6)) ITEM14,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),127,6)) ITEM15,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),136,6)) ITEM16,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),145,6)) ITEM17,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),154,6)) ITEM18,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),163,6)) ITEM19,
EUL5_GET_ITEM(SUBSTR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID),172,6)) ITEM20
FROM
EUL5_QPP_STATS QS
WHERE
(LENGTH(TO_CHAR(EUL5_GET_ITEM_NAME(QS.QS_ID)))+1)/9 < 21
AND QS.QS_CREATED_DATE > '01-JAN-2007'
Note: change the date above to see what workbooks have been run from a certain date
This script calls some functions that are not part of standard Discoverer. However, Oracle does provide this in case you need them. To install them, you need to run the EUL5.SQL script which you can find on the Admin machine in the folder called $ORACLE_HOME\Discoverer\Util. You need to run this as the owner of the EUL. If you have the EUL5 business area installed then this script will almost certainly have already been run. However, it does not hurt anything if you run it again as the code is 100% reinstallable.
Best wishes

How to change the fields in a JSF form based on a URL parameter
I am trying to build a generic JSF form of parameters which I want to dynamically change (i.e.
change which field is visible, what the label text should be, etc) based on a URL parameter.
I can set the fields using logic in the backing bean as an action on a command button pressed.
But how do I do it based on the URL parameter ? I can retrieve the URL parameter but I
don't know where to put (or hook) the Java code to do this initialization prior to
the page being rendered for the first time.
The fields in the JSF is being configured dynamically using a database table.
BTW I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.5
Thanks
CKThanks. I decided to set a Session bean to store the value of the URL parameter (if it is set)
and then to use the session bean to initialize the attributes of the fields on the JSF Page.
There also seems to be some caching of the inputText fields (i.e. it reverts back to the first
initialized value) even though I tried to change it using the URL parameter in the requestScope
backing bean. So, setting the values into the Session bean and retrieving it back from there
seems to be more reliable. -

<i>my scenerio is about file to JDBC . my flat file contains some 20 rows,just i want to split into 4 rows and then transfer into sql server</i>.
is it 4 rows or 4 msgs..?? i hope , if 4 rows then it is merge , or it is split.
Create the target structure as you required.Use the MM and IM to do accordingly, you can do without BPM.
Any way see the below links to split.
