Category Assignment

Hi, i wan't to assign a UDF created by the DI-API to a category, when i try this i found the following issues:
1) Can't create the category using DI-APi, this is done, going to the form, display the UDF list (View - User Defined Fields) and then go to Tools - Customization Tools - Settings, and add them from there. But if the form doesn't have any UDF this is not possible.
So.. i cant create the category from my application using the di api, and can't add the category to SAP if i don't have at least 1 UDF created, that are supposed to be created by my application.
2) If i manually create a UDF in SAP, go to the form, open the UDF fields and create a category, i found my self with another issue. If the form where i did that was, for example, the BP form, then i can use the DI API to update the column preferences ( enable or disable t, make them visible, etc) in the BP Form.
But if i didn't go to each of the forms i need, and set them to display the udf list , then i can't use the DI API methods to make this because SAP doesn't populate the table where the UDF preferences are until you open the form and click on display user defined fields.
Something is worth to mention is that my application is an e-commerce tool that synchronizes information from sap to the e-commerce and from the e-commerce to sap, but is not an add on. I know that with UI API you can do this. but i have to achieve this without any add on.
So... What i have to do is make the user browse the BP Form, the Item Form, the Invoice form and Sales Order Form, and for each of this make the user to display the UDF fields, close SAP re open, then my application is able to.
Arrange the UDF into a Category.
Make the UDF not editable or invisible.
Is there another work around for this. I don't think is a good thing to do, don't want to create an implementation guide where he has to do that silly stuf.

Hi,
Go to the path:
SPRO> Financial Accounting (New) > Geenral Ledger Accounting (New) > Business Transactions > Document Splitting > Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting > Execute
When you get a pop-up, enter the relevant Chart of Accounts
Click on New Entries and enter the G/L Account 2001 (i assume its a recon account for vendor).
Select the Item category 03000 Vendor and save.

Probably document splitting is activated in your company code.
So at the following path Assign an item category to your GL account.
Path: SPRO-Financial Accounting - General Ledger Accounting - Business Transaction - Document Splitting - Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting..
Check the item category that is most relevant to your GL from dro-down.

Custom WEB ADI for Item Category Assignment

Hello,
We created following custom WEB ADI .
1.) Item Update ( No Security )
2.) Item category assignment ( WITH Security of Organization Access )
Created custom responsibility XX_INVENTORY with custom Menu (subset of INV_NAVIGATE)
Added responsibility/organizationsfor XX_INVENTORY using organization access form.
NOW
POINT 1: Both ADI works as expected when added as function to Standard Inventory responsibility with menu INV_NAVIGATE.
POINT 2: Item Update ( with No Security) Works fine from custom responsibility
POINT 3: Item category assignment (with organization security) fails with "invalid integration key" error from custom responsibility. But if the user has "System Administrator" responsibility to his account it works fine, which makes me think that it has to do something with custom responsibility.
Applicatio: R12.1.3
Excel 2010
BNE Allow No Security Rule to Yes at user level

Still the same even after bouncing application. But if application bouncing was issue then none of the custom ADI should have worked from custom application. But ONLY ONE of the two is not working. Item update ADI is working just fine but Item Category assignment is not.
Any more clues??
I tried by adding Create Document, adding Desktop Integration menu to custom responsibility menu, nothing works. As soon as I add "System Administrator" responsibility to User OR add the custom ADI function to standard inventory responsibility with INV_NAVIGATE menu, it works.
Please let me know if anybody has any clue on this issue.

There is no item category assigned to account 799999/4050
I checked g/l account & seems Item category reference tab is missing
But could not figured what is this & how to resolve? Is it error in filed selection for G/L account? Please suggest solution. Thanks

Many thanks for your valued answer. I have already maintained all debit/credi accounts for my chart of accounts in GBB for OBYC transaction. I also maitained WRX for valuation account 7920. Please note that I have not maintained for any other valluation accounts like 3000, 3050 etc... as my valuation account in MM is 7920-Finsihed goods accounts.
I tried to check G/L accounts 799999 for company code 4050 in FS00. In Tab Create/Bank/Interest field status grp is G006 Below check box I tick marked Automatic Postings. (Even I rmeoved issue not resolved)
Below this is Bnk/Financial details in company code and I noticed one line is missing which is in other standard company code
COMMITMENT ITEM 799999 (INVENTORY (OWN GOODS) Is this line creating problem? If so how can I create such line?
I also run the report & verify
I tried to run programme RM07CUFA SE38
Difference in 3 tabs as "MM Group differs"
But could not identified further. If you have any clue to resolve, pl advise.

Transport of 'Report category Assignment' for LDB - PNP

I am using LDB - PNP for a HR report. The screen works fine in the development server.
Once Transported to Quality and Production servers the screen changs to something else completely.

   must be a sap standard report category,
   which must be a part of the LDB program.
2. Just check out in your QA and production servers,
whether this HRIN0013 is available for
selection or not,
   in the same screen, u mentioned.

you need to assign item category to the combination of Sales Document Type, Item category group, Usage and Higher level item category group and default item category group
for free of charge item
Sales document type - XYZ (your sales doc type)
item category group - NORM
Higher level item category - TAN (free of charge item)
Default Item category - TANN

Item Category: The specified category assignment is not found for this item

HI All,
I am loading Item category Assignment for Purchasing category Set, the standard prg fails and gives the error "The specified category assignment is not found for this item".
Where as for the inventory category set its working fine and the assignment is through.
Are there any changes required for this.

As the error indicates, your servlet does not support GET method calls. Override doGet() method to do what you are doing in doPost to avoid this error. If you want your servlet to serve GET as well as POST methods, override service method instead.

How can I correct the category assigned to my book? I do not have a Mac, submitting through Smashwords, and Smashwords says they can't get Apple to change the category.

My book is assigned to Romance/Gay&Lesbian, but that's wrong, it sould be with Literature&Fiction/Gay. How can I get that corrected? Apple says get my submitter to request a change, or else use a Mac and make the request myself. I don't have a Mac. Smashwords is my submitter and they claim they have no power or influence over what category Apple chooses.
My book could be found by browsing if it was in Literature&Fiction/Gay, but no one can find it by browsing when it is in Romance/Gay&Lesbian. Apple offers no way to browse Gay&Lesbian books in the Romance section.
Browsing is a powerful way for a writer's first novel to be found. I want my book to be listed with all the other gay books.

This was certainly worth a try, but Apple responded that they can only make changes in response to a request by the content provider, in this case (at this time, but probably not for long) Smashwords. So, one last try at Smashwords, who (as it turns out) knows less about providing content to Apple than you or I. If I can't convince Smashwords to educate themselves on how to deal with Apple, then I will withdraw my book from Smashwords completely and go buy a used Mac somewhere and become my own content provider to Apple. (Too bad Apple won't allow direct submissions without requiring that it be done with a Mac.)

Please check in SM30 your implementing team must have created a Z Table to update the GL Account against Item Categor along with the material code.
u have to maintain there.

Is it Product Category or a Characterstic in COPA which you intend to assign or is it Product Category in CFM (you can look @ SAPLTPM_TRG_VIEW).

FB50 - There is no Item Category Assigned to account

I have an account thru' which I have passed several entries. Today I configured the Cash Journal. After that I have had several issues. One of the issues is provided in a previous thread. However with this particular account, when trying to post an entry, I got the above message.

Help with product category assignment please

Hi experts,
I need to do a modificacion in my R3 downloaded products to CRM. Because a
product catalog fulfitment, I need to modify the assigned product hierarchy
in CRM but I don't know where can I do it this mapping between an R3 product
hierarchy and CRM product hierarchy.
I explain, if product A belongs in R3 to product category A, I need to modify
this assignment in CRM, for exmaple, product A in CRM will belong to product category
B.
Modifications/creations on product master are only downloaded to CRM, never upload
from CRM to R3.
Any help in this issue please? Is possible to get a behaviour like this?

Hi Javier,
You can always do a RFC data upload of the changed product from CRM to R/3. I guess you do know how to trigger a OLTP data transfer in product master maintenance transaction COMMPR01.
