Category limit in GW 2102 client?

I have a user that has 178 categories defined in his GroupWise account. He's not able to add (or delete) from this list of categories. I've tried from his account as well with no success. I've looked and have not been able to find a published "limit" to the number of allowed categories. I'm thinking that he may have reached this number and it's somehow locked up his ability to manage the category list.
Dan

Hi Dan,
I do not know of such a limit - but that is not saying that one does not exist. But before we get ahead of ourselves, have you done any sort of maintenance on the user DB as that is where category information is stored. You could also rule out "client" issues by using a different PC to test.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers,

If you want to limit the number of clients PER AP then this is a feature that has been identified and will be available in the next few version.
You can, however, limit the number of clients and default is set to 12.

  • Item category limit (B) in frame work order

Is it that item category B (limit) is mandetory in frame work order ? In that case it should appear by default. Can we use any other item category with frame work order logically?

first the question is why do we use frame work order when we already have other document ype avilable
answer is when ever we need to create a po for a validity period then frame work order is used
next thing why do we use u=item category B or limit
answer genrally frame. work order is used as blanket po means for those comodities which r procured very frequently but there monetrey value is very less
and ur not intersted in doing there godd reciept u will be directly going for invoice reciept

  • Creating pools to limit asynchronous requests by client...

I have a design issue I'm working through - I'm attempting to limit requests into a remote system to a set number per client. So for each client we have, I want a max of (for example) 15 requests to be sent to the system. Clients are added and removed constantly so extra development for each client is out of the question.
In normal Java I would just create a new client object that allocates a thread pool and send requests into each client. The thread pool would limit the number of active requests in the system and all is well. However, this logic will not work in EJB land because the container does not like application code allocating thread pools.
The only other way I can think of to implement anything like this would be to submit jobs to a queue and have an MDB pull off the queue with a fixed pool size. But this solution would not allow for dynamically increasing the number of clients (we would need to allocate a new pool for each client).
So, is there a way to create & limit asynchronous processes using Enterprise Java Beans?

  • Using RemoteApp to limit malware threats on clients

    Greetings,
I have a proposed setup that I would like to get some feedback on possible security implications on.
    This is the setting:
There are two LAN-segments, divided by a firewall. Lan-segment 1 (lets call it LAN1) has a Windows 2012 server domain with attached clients. There is therefore an DC-server in that segment, this is the primary DC. LAN-segment 2 (LAN2) has a RemoteApp server.
The clients in LAN1 have no direct connection to the Internet but uses a browser published to them via RemoteApp from LAN2. In LAN2 there is a read-only DC. The RemoteApp-server is a member of the domain. The firewall between LAN1 and LAN2 only allows RDP
(RemoteApp) traffic from the clients and communication between the DC:s in LAN1 and LAN2.
My questions regarding security are as follows:
    1. Would you consider this a safe sollution in a setting that requires high security.
    2. What security implications can be indentified? One that I can think of for example is that if the server that hosts the RemoteApps in LAN2 gets infected with a trojan it gets access to all user connections to the internet that passes through it, but can
it also capture the domain logins provided? That is, where is the authentication taking place when a client connects to a RemoteApp-server, on the client in LAN1 or on the server in LAN2?
    3. Is there a better (read more secure) way to do this?
I'm very thankful for any feedback and/or constructive critisism of the above.
    Regards
    Gunnar

    Hi Gunnar,
According to you description, my main concern is that if only RDP traffic is allowed, then Domain Controllers cannot replicate with each other, since
AD replication is not over Remote Desktop Protocol.
Would you please tell us why do you only want RDP traffic getting through?
    Best Regards,

  • SRM: Item category B/D for limit PO

    Hello Team,
Want to pose a question ? When created a Limit PO into SRM (item category Limit), I found that the back-end PO replica is been created with item category D.
    Sounds starnge ?
I believe i did build the system correct with new account assignment category for UNKNOWN. Still system is picking up wrong item category and hence all calculations are going awary.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in anticipation.

    Sandeep,
In addition to what Yann said. My analysis is:
There is one more dimention to this is that the vendor master flag "GR-based invoicing" has the impact on POs item category. If this flag from vendor master don't get transferred to PO then implement the OSS notes 956083.
Now after applying this notes you see the standard functionality:
If let say, we are creating PO with "Invoice Only" flag then there are follwoing options:
    a) If the "GR based invoice" flag in vendor master is checked then the POs goes into D item category and you can enter a service sheet for them.
    b) If the "GR based invoice" flag in vendor master is NOT checked then the POs goes into B item category and you can enter invoice just after PO.
    Please assign points as applicable.

  • Slow response when calling a web service from an ADF client in JDev 11g

I have generated a web service (WS) for a stored procedure package with 3 functions. The WS has less than 1 second response times when I use the standard WS testing facility. I then created a data control for the WS selecting the default values in the JDev wizard. When I test the functions from a very basic ADF client the response times for the same functions are between 3-4 seconds i.e. very SLOW compared to the actual response time of WS. I need some advice on how to investigate this performance degredation as seen from the ADF client.
Could the problem be that the data control was created from a web service in the same project? Maybe it is necessary to have them in separate projects or create a proxy?
I created and tested the web service with the standard WS test tool and then simply went on to create a data control from this web service for use from a ADF client.
    Some background info:
I saw the following warning in step 8 of the WS creation wizard:
"The configured policy store location at "C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper\j2ee\home\gmds" is invalid. Application cannot read policies from this location. Check that the directory name is correct and the location exists."
Also I can confirm that there is no j2ee directory in my environment.
The application server logs the following for each call from the ADF client:

    Find solution. Check this thread:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
//timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}

  • Limit/Service PO issues

    Hi All,
I have multiple issues related to Limit or service purchase orders in SRM 4.0. We are in extended classic scenario and service pack 12.
    1. When try to Limit SC in full functionality BBPSC01, after adding limit line to SC not able to find "Follow up actions' (options to select confirmation and invoice or invoice only) and "Account assignment" (option Unknown and known) section below the basic data. Does that mean some screen modifications made to disable the above fileds? If so in which ITS template or program or BADI we could find the code changes?
    2. When create a PO directly in "Process purchase order" with item category LIMIT (PO with one line item), it created a service PO in ERP (item category D) for LIMIT value (say 100 Euro) and no service lines in service tab. Now user amended the PO in change order and added a service as second line item (200 Euro). The change order went to transfer failure and message shows "Please specify a valid account assignment" and "Instance 4400494431 of object type PurchaseOrder could not be changed". However net price of the PO in ERP increased to 300 Euro at item level but no service line added in service tab.
Could some one help in resolving the above two issues.
    Regards
    Prasad

For Service PO, the Item Category has to be "D" - Service.
    Please check & confirm.
The various steps are given below:
    1. PO creation using T code ME21 / ME21n
    2. Service Entry Sheet creation using T code ML81n
    3. Release of SES using T code ML85.
    4. Invoice verification using T code MIRO (For MIRO, the SES has to be first release ie GR generated).

  • How to get  ServerSocket to tell client that it's not accepting?

I've had a couple of other topics recently, concerning my attempt to write a client/server TicTacToe game for my final project in Data Comm. I've got almost all of what I want worked out this week, but I'm stumped on this one. The project spec includes some way of controlling access to the application on the server -- do some work on figuring out the limits of the resources, and set up a way to limit the number of clients that can connect at one time.
I thought that for my purposes, for proof of concept, I would set it up so that up to 3 clients could play at one time, and up to 2 could be allowed to "connect, but wait for a turn" until someone playing logged off. Conceptually I can draw a flow chart of it, but what I can't figure is this -- I have a server object that accepts connections with ServerSocket.accept(), and sends off the socket created as an argument to a new thread of the ServerGame class. ServerGame has a static int for threadcount. I can code in ServerGame to limit it to 3 who can actively be allowed to play, and send a message back to someone who connects later to say, "Wait", and in the Server itself I can refuse to accept() if a 6th client tries to connect, but for that 6th client -- how can I get a message saying "You can't even connect now -- no room even in the queue"? If the server doesn't even accept(), what's the means of response, other than the poor client sitting there with an unresponsive button in his GUI? That's what happens now -- the first client that tries to connect when the server won't accept, his GUI just freezes. Not a good interface.
Unfortunately this is a Data Comm class, and the teacher is new this year and comes from 25 years in industry and knows C/C++, but no java.

My puzzlement is that I'm a beginner ( we just got introduced to the idea of sockets in class a month ago, and I chose java not only because I like it best but golly, the socket API in C and C++ is awful compared to java).
My understanding of ServerSocket is that it does not make a connection that it can use itself, but passes off to something or someone. My model is to have a ServerGame class, threaded so the Server spawns a new thread of ServerGame for each new socket and passes the socket to the constructor of the new ServerGame thread. The it goes off and does its thing.
So I don't understand what you mean by setting a flag (I understand flags, just not what the idea is in this case). And how can I call a function on a server on a different machine? Chicken and egg -- how can I communicate if I can't connect, and if I do connect the connection is sent off to the ServerGame, not the Server itself.
Wait -- just thought of something -- is this what you mean? If I set a condition that recognizes I've reached the limit, ServerSocket could create a connection but NOT send it to the ServerGame, but to a temporary object of some kind, that just sends back a message and closes and dies?
Sounds do-able, but time's up, I gotta get to school. I'll check in later
    Thanks a lot

  • *General item Category Group*      vs    *Item Category Group*

    Hi,
What's the difference for the General item Category Group and Item Category Group in the material master?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
General item category grp is used in the sales processes like BOM, where we have higher item category and the default item
    categories.
General item category grp would refer to the higher level item category and item category grp would refer to the default item category
General Item category Group is an extension item category group. Example: if one select item catagory group as NORM, but under item category group, NORM can further be classified as Service item, packagaing item or Normal
item using "general item category group".
Also, General item category group is maintained at client level, this field can be maintain from Basic Data View of Material Master. Thus in case item category group is missing, then general item category group is used for item category determination.
Item category group determines how a material is processed in the sales order. When processing sales and distribution
documents, the system uses the item category group to determine the item category and proposes it in the respective document. Item category group is defined in the Sales Org View 2 of Material Master Record.
Example, in the standard SAP System, the item category group NORM is defined for materials kept in stock and the group DIEN for services and non-stock material

  • Per user bandwidth rate limit.

How to configure per user bandwidth rate limit for wireless guest client, authentication server is ISE 1.2 & wireless controller is 5760.

The Cisco 5760 WLC supports better QoS than other c
    ontrollers, allowing prioritization of mission-crit

    applications:

The Cisco 5760 WLC supports four wireless hardware
queues and priority-based queuing compared to
    software-based queuing in existing controllers.

The Cisco 5760 WLC follows MQC based commands, allo
wing usage of exact commands for configuring
QoS on different types of network devices.

The Cisco 5760 WLC supports QoS policies to be appl

per SSID per radio, while on the current controller
    s granularity is per WLAN.

The Cisco 5760 WLC supports approximate fair bandwi
dth to make sure of fairness at client, SSID, and
radio levels for Non-Real Time (NRT) traffic. There
fore, if one user consumes excessive bandwidth, we
    can
limit the amount of bandwidth that user receives an
d thereby not deprive other users.
