Cativate 5.5 hosted on Godaddy running Moodle 1.9 - does it work?

Has anybody got Captivate 5.5 working correctly with the godaddy moodle 1.9 installation?
Details:
I have done the Moodle 1.9 Godaddy installation.
I can change themes, add users, and upload courses. But I can’t get captivate to work with it.
I am not playing with SCORM or AICC yet.
Captivate creates 3 files, the flash file (swf), a htm file that formats and plays the swf file, and a small js file.
I load all three files to Moodle.
I have the course point to the htm file.
But when I test it I only get a gray screen.
If I do a view source – I see it has loaded the htm file but – the htm file doesn’t load the swf file.
1. It works on my PC
2. It works on other Moodle 1.9 hosted systems.
Any help greatly appreciated.

If you want Captivate content to play and be tracked by Moodle you need to upload your Captivate modules as SCORM 1.2 zips.
Check the Moodle forums at www.moodle.org
There are a lot of people around the world using Captivate in Moodle.

  • How to "Call by Reference" when running in RealTime (path does not work)

    I have a .vi which has been "uploaded" to a PXI chassis to run in RealTime.
    I have this feeling that one of my sub-vi's are not functioning properly. I have a sub-vi which "Opens a VI reference" to a .vi located on my Windows harddrive. But, when everything is setup in Realtime, it cannot locate this .vi anymore.
    I need to load a .vi dynamicaly, multiple times. Is there another way around it?

    Yes, that worked well. I had gotten it to work, but had not replied to this post to indicate my success. My actual problem had to do with me forcing a "close front panel". I had read in some other posts that you cannot modify front panels or other user-activity type of options when running real time. By removing the "FP Close" function, the call to the specific .vi worked great (and with the addition of the IP address for the opening of a local reference). Thanks again for all the input.

  • Start Run thunderbird.exe-p does not work in windows 7. how find/runProfiles manager?

    I am trying to manually transfer my address book etc. from TB on my desktop [windows XP ] to my Laptop running widows 7. Have followed all instructions, using a memory stick to make the transfer manually. System reports it is working and takes several minutes. After completion address book is blank. Thought problem might be the name of the backup file, so changed name to same as default profile name on windows 7. Same nil result. Instructions say to create new profile using Profile manager; access by windows 7 Start>Run>Thunderbird.exe-p. Windows 7 reports cannot find the file. Also tried windows 7 Start>Run>Thunderbird.exe-P, same no find file. Can anyone explain how to locate/open/run Profile Manager, other than as tried ? When I type "profile manager" into Help search, all I get is the same general information and not about Profile Manager itself. Also why does Pasteing backup profile onto the new TB seem to work, but in fact does nothing ?

    Note: 'Start>Run>Thunderbird.exe-p' is not correct, so you are not following the instructions. Please read info at the above links above to enter the correct path. the info for Win7 and win8 are the same.
    However, before going down that route ; I preume you have already created a Profile in Win7 machine; please read the following information.
    re: 'trying to manually transfer my address book etc. from TB on my desktop [windows XP ] to my Laptop running widows 7.'
    So are you trying to just migrate the address book or the entire Profile?
    '''If just migrating various Address Books.'''
    The 'Personal Address Book' and the 'Collected Addresses' are default Thunderbird files. These files can be copy pasted from one profile to another.
    To see Profile folders:
    * make hidden files visible: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    * In XP Thunderbird, 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information'
    * click on 'Show folder'
    * close Thunderbird now.
    * scroll down and look for 'abook.mab' and 'history.mab'
    * copy those files and move to same location on the Win7 machine.
    For other address books.
    * In XP Thunderbird
    * select 'Address Book'
    * select the name of the address book
    * Tools > Export
    * choose where to save
    * give suitable filename
    * Save as type: comma separated .csv or LDIF
    * Copy that file to desktop of new Win7 computer.
    Then in Win7 Thunderbird Address Book
    * Tools > Import
    * Choose the saved address book and click on Open.
    '''If you want to migrate the entire Profile:'''
    This can be done manually or using a tool called MozBackup. See info at this link:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Move_to_a_new_PC
    When manually copy pasting files, I presume you have installed Thunderbird on new win7 machine and allowed it to run for the first time to create a Profile, but did not choose to create any existing accounts. So you have a Profile, but no mail accounts except for the default Local Folders.
    The files you need to copy are:
    * In XP Thunderbird, 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information'
    * click on 'Show folder'
    * close Thunderbird now.
    This shows you all the files '''in''' your Profile folder. These are the files you need to copy and paste into the new Profile folder in Thunderbird on Win7 machine, overwriting the default created files.
    now open Thunderbird.

  • Running LDAP without NIS: Does it work?

    Is anyone out there using Netscape Directory Server without NIS
    (extensions)?
    We are planning on going to an LDAP solution for logons, and etc. Everything
    I am reading is saying that Solaris needs to use the NIS extensions for NIS
    maps. This make sense for that purpose. Then they are making it sound like
    from there go to straight LDAP. I would like to skip that intermediate step
    and go straight to ldap.
    And if all of that works, how does automount and NFS work with that type of
    solution?
    Thank you for any help,
    K. Murphy

    The NIS extensions are a bit confusing to understand. Solaris supports
    native LDAP authentication in two ways:
    1) Solaris can directly authenticate against an LDAP directory (no NIS
    involved).
    2) For those clients which support NIS but do not support LDAP
    (machines with old versions of Solaris or maybe non-Sun boxes), Solaris
    will act as a NIS server (such that the client communicates via NIS and
    doesn't use LDAP) but the NIS server really uses LDAP.
    The NIS extensions for Solaris are for implimenting method #2. If you
    are using method #1 then you should not install the NIS extensions.
    Only certain versions of Solaris work with method #1. What version of
    Solaris are you running? What version of iPlanet Directory Server were
    you planning to use?
    Michael Haines and Tom Bialaski of Sun have jointly authored a book on
    this topic (I think it's called "Solaris Native LDAP" - it's one of the
    Sun "Blueprints" series books) and Michael has written a pretty good
    script (which is so verbosely commented that it's also highly
    educational to read) which automates the configuration of the directory
    and the Solaris clients (configures them to bind to the directory), but
    the last version I had supported iDS 4.12 & 4.13 - not iDS 5.x (maybe
    he's got a revision by now).

              Hi,
              Using "WebLogic EJB to JSP Integration Tool", we have created a custom TagLib.
              We can properly deploy/start our Web application (a WAR file), but whenever we
              go to the JSP page that is using the custom Tag, we get the following exception:
              java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.Object
              at javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagData.getAttributeString(TagData.java:165)
              Here is what we have in our JSP page:

              %>
              <students:Register studentID="<%=studentID%>" />

  • Toast--Buffer under run protection--does it work?

    Lately I have been having trouble with the "device has drained its buffer without under run protection" error. I usually can deal with it with several things I try, but for the last couple of projects I can burn only one or two disks before I start getting this problem. Then I can't burn until I let the computer rest overnight, no matter what I try.
    I have heard that Toast has a buffer under run protection option. Does it work? If it does, I'll down load it.

    Hi R
    Even Toast™ are dependant on the free space on internal hard disk. Even more so
    if You use it for capturing material from DVD discs - then to add to the strain
    say that it should be changed to fit a new DVD.
    Say from a DL-disc to a SL-dito.
    Don't be amazed if the need exceeds a 60Gb need.

  • Flash files in iWeb site hosted by Godaddy?

    Anybody know how to use .swf files in an iWeb site hosted on Godaddy?
    I'm trying to see how to use a few .swf files (flash) in my site which I built and maintain with iWeb.
    I had set them up back in the .mac days and they were able to work. When .mac ended, I switched the hosting to Dropbox which worked fine (though a little slow) but I guess I hadn't checked those .swf animations. When I was preparing to move the site to GoDaddy recently, the animations weren't working.
    My site is now up and running on GoDaddy and I'd like to get those animations working. I've googled/searched for information, but all the info seems to be about using idisk or .mac. Since those no longer exist, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it.
    Anybody know how to use .swf files in an iWeb site hosted on Godaddy?
    Thanks!

    Upload the files in a folder to the root folder on the server using an FTP app. This page is about audio files but it's the same method for flash...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/AudioFiles/Upload.html
    Then reference each file in an iframe code. See this page for more info...

  • I just found out that Apple has ceased supporting iWeb!  I have a large (50  pages) website developed with iWeb and hosted through GoDaddy.  Is there information out there about how I can move my website pages to a supported app?

    I just visited the Apple Store to investigate a new MacBook Air.  I found out that iWeb is no longer supported!!  I currently have a MacBook Pro that is less than 2 years old, running OS10.7.5.   I have a large website that I developed using iWeb (hosted by GoDaddy).  Does anyone know how I can migrate my 50+ pages to some new app?  Is there some new app?  Or will I have to start over from scratch? Ugh!!!  Thanx.

    You can still use iWeb 3 to maintain your webiste.  Just copy the Domain.sites2 file from the your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder on your MBP to the same folder on your MacBook Air.  Also copy the iWeb application from your MBP to the Applications folder on the MBA.
    In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
    do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
    Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
    WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
    If you want to learn about potential preplacements (which have been discussed extensively at length in this forum) do a search for  "iweb replacement".

  • HT3311 Problem submitting podcast (hosted on GoDaddy) to i Tunes Store - host parameter null

    Why do I get following reply from iTunes Store when I attempt to publish my podcast:
    "We had difficulty reading this feed. Host parameter is null." ?
    This is my podcast website:
    http://www.einarpetterson.org/Ars_et_Medicina/Podcast/Podcast.html
    I have validated the following feed with Feed Validator.  It is ok.  (there are some minor suggestions for changes which should not be criical)
    http://www.einarpetterson.org/Ars_et_Medicina/Podcast/rss.xml
    When I write this feed URL in the box for suscribing to podcasts in ITunes  (Advanced/Suscribe to podcast menues),  iTunes finds my podcasts and downloads them successfully (and fast).  All the podcasts downloaded that way work fine.
    So, if the rss reed is validated, and works in iTunes,  why am I not able to publish my podcasts in iTunes Store?
    My hosting service is GoDaddy.com.   I see from other articles on this support forum (Apple) and on GoDaddy´s support forum, that other people have had the same problem.   Sometimes their problem apparently just disappeared (and iTunes Store finally just stopped writing "We had difficulty reading this feed.  Host parameter is null"  everytime they tried to submit their podcasts to iTunes.  I have now tried submitting this and other podcasts (hosted on GoDaddy) many, many times for several days, but always get the same irritating negative message.
    Does anyone out there understand what the problem could be?   As far as I can see from reading other descriptions of this same problem, no one has yet provided an adequate explanation of what is causing this "glitch" (as some call it).
    I want to publish several podcast series on iTunes Store which are now hosted on GoDaddy.com.   Many other MobileMe users like me, will in the next 30 days have to move their websites from MobileMe to other hosting services.   GoDaddy.com is a large hosting service.   This problem might appear often during the next month.  I therefore believe that Apple and GoDaddy should attempt to find out why this problem occurs, and do something about it.   It seems from other descriptions of this problem, that it often occurs with people using GoDaddy hosting service.  Have not read or analyzed all descriptions of this problem on the net, but there are enough descriptions to support a hypothesis that there is some communication difficulty between iTunes Store and GoDaddy hosting service. (? - at least some others have made this hypothesis, like I do)

    TEST OF SUBMISSION OF 16 RSS FEEDS TO ITUNES STORE "SUBMIT PODCAST" PAGE
    I have now tested all my podcast rss feeds which are now stored on GoDaddycom hosting service in three ways:
    1) Feed validator
    2) iTunes (Menu: Advanced/suscribe to podcast)
    3) iTunes Store "Submit Podcast Page"
    Results:
    All 16 rss feeds are valid according to Feed Validator.  There are some small insignifcant suggestions for improvements which are not critical.
    All 16 rss feeds function in iTunes (Advanced/suscribe to podcasts)
    None of the 16 rss feeds can be successfully submitted to iTunes Store "submit podcast" page.  The same error occurs in all cases:
    "We had difficulty reading this feed. host parameter is null"
    The following 5 of these 16 podcasts were submitted while the websites were hosted by MobileMe.  No problems with submission.  All accepted and now on iTunes.  These podcast sites are now transferred to GoDaddy.com (with same domain as earlier  - einarpetterson.org - and all function.  I can change pages, make alterations etc.
    Here are the 5 rss feeds.

    http://www.einarpetterson.org/Ekskursjonsemner/Podcast/rss.xml
    The following 11 podcasts now hosted on GoDaddy webhosting service can not be submitted successfully to iTunes Store despite the fact that their rss feeds are validated by Feed Validator and work on iTunes (and probably on most  other rss readers)

    http://www.einarpetterson.org/Ars_et_Medicina/Podcast/rss.xml
    THIS PROBABLY MEANS THAT IT IS EITHER VERY DIFFICULT, OR IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE WHO IS USING GODADDY.COM AS A WEBHOSTING SERVICE (WITHOUT USING THEIR VIRTUAL OR DEDICATED SERVER OPTIONS WHICH ARE VERY EXPENSIVE) TO PUBLISH ANY PODCASTS ON ITUNES STORE.
    I may have made some error in my submission to ITunes Store, but do not think so.  If anyone discovers that I have made a simple and stupid error, please tell me.  If I have not made an error, one should probably not use GoDaddy.com as a webhosting service if one ever wants to publish podcasts to iTunes Store.
    It would be interesting to hear if anyone in this forum who is using GoDaddy.com webhosting service has recently (or ever) managed to succesfully submit a rss feed to iTunes Store submit page.  If so, I would like to hear about it.

  • Can't load websites hosted on GoDaddy

    Updated to Mavericks. Now I can't access websites I built that are hosted via GoDaddy. I can surf the web like crazy, but not these particular sites (and I need to work on them). I also can't send mail from the email account I have set up through one of these sites.
    I installed a new Airport Extreme, which is working quite well.
    Has anyone had problems like this? If so, how did you resolve them?
    I am frustrated.

    We were discussing this on IRC. Those addons are installed in the above mentioned firefox:
    AVG Safe Search 9.0.0.845 true {3f963a5b-e555-4543-90e2-c3908898db71}
    AVG Security Toolbar 4.504.019.002 true avg@igeared
    Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.1 true {20a82645-c095-46ed-80e3-08825760534b}
    I suspect that AVG is somehow at fault here.
    PS: The UA string seems to be from the browser used to report the Problem, not Firefox itself.

  • Stored procedure for getting host name, host instance and status of that host is it running or stopped.

    Hello all,
    yesterday I got one task in that I have to stored procedure for getting host name, host instance and status of that host is it running or stopped.
    any body knows where exactly, In which table this details are there in BizTalk databases.
    thanks

    Status of the host instance is not stored in the SQL database for you to query the status using stored procedure. You have to either use Powershell or WMI to get the status.
    In SQL, following table contains the details about the host like Name, LoginName, IsDisables etc but status of the host instance is not stored in the database.
    SELECT * FROM BizTalkMgmtDb..adm_HostInstance
    Powershell to get the status:

  • Password protected iweb site hosted on godaddy

    Hi,
    I am using iweb 08, and i host with godaddy.
    Is there any way of making the password function from iweb work with godaddy?
    so far i can't get it to work.
    Thanks
    Dave

    Dave:
    That's one of the features of iWeb that are not supported by non Mac servers:
    Features Unavailable When Publishing to a Non-Mac Server:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Blog RSS Subscription
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ Enhanced slideshows
    There are methods using php I believe but, again, have no experience with them. One of these sites may be what you're looking for.

  • How to determine the Host a VM runs on, if VM is 2012

    Morning all
    HyperV host on Win2012 (standard, not R2), guest is the same.
    Time was, you could query HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Virtual Machine\Guest\Parameters\PhysicalHostName on a VM to find out the name of the host it was running on, and this is handy for us as we run various scripts to update inventories and such. With a
    2012 guest, sometimes that key is no longer populated and for the life of me I can't work out why. The Parameters key is there, but totally empty.
    Any thoughts? As you'll know, W2012 has the HyperV integration stuff built in, so it's not like they're out of date or anything. One working and one not-working are both at the same patch levels.
    Thanks

    Messaging Server 5.1 is beyond the EOL Shane described previously. The date after which you can not even open support calls for 5.1 was 6 years ago, March 2004. See [http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Messaging+Server+EOL+Dates].
    There will be no further bug fixes for 5.2, 6.0, and 6.1, but you can still open support cases about them. The "last bug fix" date for 6.2 is this month, June 2010.
    The "Too many failures to this host during this run; skipping this host: Try again later" error means what it says: there have been too many previous failures trying to relay messages to this host, so the message is being put back in the queue to be retried later. So you need to look at what those failures were.
    The "initial status response expected" error means that the smtp_client process on this system connected to the TCP port on the remote MTA but never received the "banner". So you need to look at what is happening on that remote system or in the network. Perhaps there is a firewall in between? You could use something like snoop to see what is happening at the TCP level. But...
    You describe the messages having this problem as being "from domain to the same domain" and the mail.log_current info you provided shows it is from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]" and that it came in on the tcp_intranet channel and was enqueued to the tcp_local channel.
    I wonder why mail for a user in some other domain is coming from that user and going thru your system. Is that your own domain and this is an MTA system rather than a message store system?
    You could try setting LOG_CONNECTION=3 in option.dat (and do imsimta cnbuild; and imsimta restart job_controller). On current versions, that will give more information about the connection attempts. But I do not know if 5.1 had that option. If that option works on 5.1, it will give you the hostname it is trying to connect to. Then you can investigate either on that host or the network.
