Hi Team,
We have a requriement to deactivate T&E (Trip Approvals) workflow for a Personnel number, Basically he is a director of the company who doesn't want to and allow his Assitant to do it on his behalf with out him receiving the approval.
Currently we are following the below process
Trip created by Employee --> Checked and Approved by Manager --> If not approved by 5 days, it will go to Manager's Manager (Senior level).
Now for this specific case, we need an exception process as below, where we need to deactivate the Workflow only for Director, if not possible then the trip's Wrokflow can be generated as below.
Trip created by Director --> Approved by Assistant.
Please guide me.

Hi Sandeep
A quick and dirty approach is to set a start condition to check the employee Personnelnumber<> Director's personnel number.
However, if this personnel number is changed in future then a workflow change will be required.
Chances are less that the org unit "Number" will not change, assuming that the "Director" position in your setup is heading the whole company (the parent org unit (there is none above). So, best is to check if the triggering personnel number is NOT the HEAD of the Org Unit XXXX (the XXX org unit is the company - top most org unit)...provided that "Head of Org Unit" is marked in your org structure.

CATS Rejected workflow

Hi friends,
we are in ecc 6.
Can someone tell me the purpose of Rejected event in BO CATS? Whenever a timesheet approved or rejected, COMPLETED event triggers. Never Rejected event is triggering. I want to send an email to creator of timesheet in case his timesheet is getting rejected. Standard task 31000007 sends notification only to sap inbox. note that it is just a notification, no workitem is generated. so i cannot use RSWUWFML2.

You have got quite a few that haven't seen any input from you. There was a recent one from you about a termination workflow and though there were responses, you didn't bother to show the basic courtesy to reciprocate.
Make sure you have either sufficiently responded if you cannot clsoe the thread.

CATS Approvals

Fellow Developers,
Is there and switch in config that will not allow the Approver to drill into the line items using T-Code cats_appr_lite. We do not want the approver to be able to change time entry, just approve or reject the entries.

This looks like a bit tricky.
1. You may play around the authorizations to limit access to CATSDB - display only or ignore access to CAT2 transaction.
2. On the screen of "CATS_APPR_LIT ", there is an option called 'Automatic approval' (user exit). You may want to check the options with this to provide a variant with this option selected.. Not sure, but may try.

PR workflow kick off again when CATA -Time transfer was done by Accounting

Hi,
PR workflow kick-off again when accounting ran tcode -CATA(Time transfer ).This PR was approved converted into PO .When account ran CATA the workflow kick off again .I deleted the workitem through tcode -SWWL still the PR shows Release Possilble.Any body has faced this kind of issue .I want to delete the Release possible option for this PR
This PR was created for service order for performimng services.

About CATS attachment

I am having a problem with the CATS approval workflow.When clicking on the attachment of the workflow we are getting a short dump.
Short text
Program error: ASSIGN with length 0 in program "SAPLSWOT".
What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLSWOT" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Tried to create a field with length 0. This is not
possible.
What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
In an ASSIGN statement in the program "SAPLSWOT" a field symbol with
length 0 should have been created. However, this is not possible.
length 0.
This is not possible.
How to correct the error
If the error occurred in your own ABAP program or in an SAP
program you modified, try to remove the error.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"ASSIGN_LENGTH_0" " "
"SAPLSWOT" or "LSWOTU02"
"SWO_DIALOG_OBJECT_KEY_EDIT"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More

Hi experts,
I had the same problem with standard object BUS2028 (Material Inventory).
I re-generated the object in development system in SWO1 transaction and the problem got solved (in development system). But the issue is that the client has MANY systems, and I dont think I will be able to re-generate in all systems, specially in productive system....
I was not asked for any transport request when re-generating.... How can I get the "re-generation" moved to other systems? Is there any way to include a standard business object in a transport request? or howelse?
I've also been looking for some OSS note for this but didn't find anything....

Report ing Hours in CATS

Hi,
We´ve encountered the following need.
We are using CATS to register presences and absences. Supposing that there is a week where wednesday is a holiday, we want the system to set by default that day as a holiday.
We want to achieve that the employees do no have to register their days acoounted to holidays, but we need to have their record for these days because if they don´t register 40 hours a week they will not get paid.
If the employee really worked on tha holiday, he needs to be able to record his hours as a normal day.

Hello
You can use a standard functionnality in workflow which is substitution/delegation. The director can delegate for a specific task (trip approval) and for a period of time to another user.
So he will delegates to his assistant and the assistant will do the validation on his behalf.
It is a common requirement and delegation is often used for high level managers.

Rule Approval is a part of rule management and governance process around validation rules. It's not possible to disable the rule approval.
Can you explain your scenario and need for disabling the rule approval?

CATS Function Module

Hello Friends,
I have a requirement related to time entry in CATS on the portal. The system should allow the employees to go beyond 4 weeks in the past and enter time. Is there some kind of a user exit or a function module which can restrict the employee from entering time in the past? I did change the CATS profile by setting up the lower limit but it works only on the SAP backend but not on the timesheet portal.

We are configuring CATS Approval Workflow i.e. WS40001001. In this WF there is a Task 20000495 which is not present in the system. When i double click on this Task error message appears "Task 20000495 not available".
Any idea how to go about it.

However, for feedback I'm just seeing it appear in the notifications iview, I'm not getting any email. Is feedback suppose to send email?

BPM process query integrating with EP

Hello,
Our present finance process where in we are using lotus notes for approvals workflow.
--> user login to lotus notes fill the form and clicks submit and this triggers approval workflow's in lotusnotes and after approvals it generates a form and the form details will be filled in SAP ECC.
We are going for SAP BPM for approval workflows to phase out lotusnotes.
we will design the financial form in Enterprise portal when the user submits it comes to BPM where the workflow triggers and the form will be generated that is adobe form.
My question :
Do we integrate EP 7.0 and BPM through UWL

"Send for review" user error

Contribute 3 Windows
A user was supposed to send an edited page for review via
e-mail.
Instead, they sent it to their whole Contribute group.
Unfortunately,
they are the only one in that group who still has Contribute.
Now she can't edit the page because the page is supposedly
under review.
How do I as administrator get the page out of review and
allow her to
send it for review the proper way?
