CATS Implementation Requirements

Dear Experts,
Kindly we are looking to implement the CATS, but we didnu2019t implement the HR module yet, from my research I found that we can implement CATS without the HR module except that we need to maintain the HR Mini-Master data and organizational structure as well since we want to use the approval system. So is that correct?
Another question, is it required to integrate the CATS with other modules (FI,PS, PM,..) or it is optional?
Last question is there any report in SAP that can find out employees that they donu2019t maintain their time sheets?

Hi,
Question one: Yes you need HR Mini Master as is the base amount of info types - 0, 1, 2 etc...
Question two: It is optional to imlement CATS per module. For example, you can implement for HR and not PM.
Question three: There is a report that extracts time sheet entries from CATSDB, is called CATS_DA - Display Working Times.
Thsi can tell you if an employee's time sheet has been maintained.

   webdynpro is another kind of perspective.Where we can use components of portals like abstract,dynpage,jsp.. or webdypro which is another perspective for creating UI screens.
Web Dynpro is the SAP programming model used to develop professional Web UIs for business applications. It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical development environment with special Web-Dynpro tools that are integrated in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.

NW BW 7.3 Implementation Requirements - Portal Patch

Hi,
We are planning to launch BW 7.3. So far we do not have a SAP-BW , however we are on ECC EHP4.
Question :
Do I have to be on ECC EHP5 to implement BW 7.3 ?
Is there any Portal Package requirement to implement BW 7.3 ?
I did gone thur release notes and implementation guide and unable to figure this out
Can I just use BW 7.3 with BO4.0 with out a NW Portal{ without disturbing existing portal serving ECC} ?

No you do not need the newest ECC. If you are on R/3 (former ECC) 4.6 it should be fine.

For BW 7.0 JAVA stack is mandatory since web reporting and some oter functionality (information broadcasting, printing etc. runs on JAVA). So not Portal but JAVA Stack is required if you plan to use JAVA based BW functionality.

I am looking for a documentation, which could give me some questions to implement OBIA and OBIEE. Do we have any documentation like this which could give customer a basic idea about OBIEE and OBIA and what it takes for them to implement them.
Basically we are looking for a documentation of questionarie which could guide clients to choose OBIEE and OBIA with hardware and licensing requirements.

Implementation requirement of MRP

Dear experts;
required your feedback for the following;
one of my potential customer has the following scenario:
1) They are a process manufacturing industry.
2) They bought some ERP modules of Oracle e-business (release 11i) suite some years back
3) They have Oracle Financials, Oracle Supply Chain Management (SCM), Oracle Process manufacturing (OPM), OPM Inventory modules. They do NOT have Discrete Manufacturing and Discrete Inventory modules
4) They have implemented the above modules to a fair extent except MRP.
5) They have NOT implemented Material Requirements Planning (MRP) but wish to do so under 11i.
6) As a first step, I have to tell them as to what modules/sub-modules they must have to implement MRP.
7) They say that they do NOT have Master Demand Schedule (MDS) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) modules.
Based on the above information, kindly tell me the following:
a) Where does MRP stand in the product structure of ERP (11i), and its relation with other modules/sub-modules. A tree structure/diagram will really help.
b) Do they need to buy any other Oracle product module to implement MRP that would work with 11i release set of modules which they already have.

I would strongly advise against using MRP for a new planning implementation.
You should use ASCP. That is the direction Oracle is going. They have not offered any enhancements to MRP for a long time.
ASCP has a lot more functionality. The UI is much much better. It offers viewing of multi-level pegging, it can show you onhand quantity, it has a better horizontal plan and vertical plan display.
It comes with a very flexible User Query functionality. It comes with a seeded Planning Detail report that can be viewed in Excel.
I can go on and on....
Bottomline is, at such a late lifecycle stage for MRP, it does not make sense to start using it now.
When you get license for ASCP, it includes MDS/MPS. But such licensing questions are best answered by your Oracle salesperson.

Implementation requirements

Dear all ,
i have developed an hr application using oracle developer 10g.
now i want to implement it . i buy a server for database and install oracle database 10g. i buy another server for middle tier. what should i install on that server?
1. the oracle developer? ( this is not logical since they dont need developer suite).
2. The complete application server? ( this is again awsome , for why i purchase complete application server while i could achive my desired task only be forms and report services).
3. only forms and report services? (how to do this?)
Please guide me for extra requirements for this task.

You need to install the Oracle Application Server 10g R2 or <a href="http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html" > Oracle Application Server 10G R3 </a>. Once installed, you will need to install the Forms and Reports sevices. The download for this is included in the previous links. I suggest you review the Oracle Application Server 10g and Forms & Reports services documation available here.

I forgot to mention, that if you are using this software for anything other than "Development" purposes you will need to obtain the appropriate License from Oracle. :)

Crm isa 2007 implementation required steps?

Can any one please let me know how to proceed on a new implementation and what are the things to be taken care?
What are all the things to be taken care by an isa technical consultant ..like shop admin, xcm...etc

Further, as per your earlier concern, the Internet Sales Architecture (ISA) Technical Consultant is someone who is involved in hands on coding on the ISA API built on Struts. It is SAP's API built on Java Struts framework. So you need to be coding in Java in case you intend to be Technical consultant for ISA.

The Basis team looks at administration of SAP ABAP and Java layers, ABAP & JAVA technical developments are handled by technical consultants in the respective areas, Middleware consultant is required in case you have an integration with SAP ERP (ECC). Whatever is left is the functional consultants role, which is Base Customizing for CRM (Business Partner, Transaction type etc.,), Java Base (XCM, Shopadmin etc.,) and R3 base (SD, MM, FI/CO etc.). Depending on the organizations size, project constraints etc., you may have specialized consultants for each or simply an all-rounder.
Further, considering the project involves the Internet, you have other areas which are external to SAP such as Network Architecture - Load Balancer, Dispatcher, Application Accelerator, Server Hosting etc., Security - SSL Certification, Antivirus etc., and Payment Gateway integration. These are generally not given much importance, but are crucial in the end to end execution of an Internet Sales project.

and i kind of think this may not be an appropriate forum to post this query and i know that Many people might be bored by this discurssion
and i'm sorry as i was not able to get any helpful articles(Tech tips) after a strenuous google / forums (java,liferay/pentaho).
aliright,here is my problem.
My company is in the phase of migrating their tech.. resources they wanted to get adapted to open source technologies which could facilitate us to deliever cost affective services.
For, which we decided to go by integrating Liferay Protal(MyFaces implementations) at Presentation / View Layers,Spring (@biz layer) & Hibernate(@DA layer) and we were researching on few Open Source BI tools which could cater our requirements for our reporting front.On a detail survey we found an open source BI tool called "Pentaho" catering our needs.
I heard that there are few internal BI tools(ServiceMix JBI engine) which comes with Liferay itself but we were unable to cater requirements with them. So we've decided to integrate Liferay with this reporting tool called "pentaho".I was just wondering if someone is already working on this front,if so i'd be glad if they can share some info of how to go about it.
It would be gr8 if someone can share details in form on few good links to few tech. discurssions & few valid points.

The below piece of code could cater your requirement, for flltering the non digit chars from your field,
<xsl:value-of select="translate(<your field name>, translate(<your field name>, '0123456789', ''), '')"/>
This would separate the non numeric chars from your field in mapping.

Is Vertex an absolute requirement for US Payroll?

We are implementing Payroll for a small US County with around 1000 employees. Is implementation of Vertex an absolute requirement? Or is there some way to maintain the tax rates for the county from within Oracle Apps forms?

Hi,
I don't think any customization setting exists to make this filed mandatory. Howsoever, you can use user exit / field exit to cater your requirement.
There is a work around , you can use incompleteness for inbound delivery , in incompleteness put storage location as a filed. proceed as per the below to make the settings.
Shipping -->Basic Shipping Functions >Incompletion Control for Deliveries>Define Incompleteness Procedures Select H delivery item
and create your procedure .
Assign table filed as LIPS -LGORT screen LAPD status 02 and Seq 1000
and attach this in Procedure to ELN in Below path
Assign Incompleteness Procedures -->Assign Incompletion Forms to the Delivery Item Types
After this if you are trying to save the inbound delivery with Storage location system will not allow you to save the delivery
Hope this meets requirement instead of going for enhancement

Currently I am doing some R&D on web analytics implementation in flex. As per my understanding, Sitecatalyst AppMeasurement implementation requires FLEX SDK 4.0 or above. Please let me know if Site Catalyst can be implemented for flex SDK 3.5 also?

Suppose I do not need Site catalyst 'extension'. Then also, I can download AppMeasurement library separately and implement that in a flex project that is built upon SDK 3.5. Am I right?
Secondly, can I use the SiteCatalyst 'extension' with SDK 3.5 at all? If yes, then what are the risk factors involved?

Recurring Inspection is required for non batch managed material

My scenerio is I want recurring inspection of material but my material is not batch managed. is there any way around to cater this requirement?

Without Batch management the reccuring inspection is not possible because if you receive 100 quantity of material A on date X and consume 50 and again you purchase 50 on daye Y and comsume 30 out of it .. Then how the system will know about when to trigger this inspection and for how much quantity..Even you use development the system canot identify the materials got consumed .. If it is serialized material then you can do it by creating the development table and maintaining the receipt date for each serial no and the inspection date...
