CATS Profile Longtext display

Hi,
I want to display the long tesx of the time Entry in the Profile, it should display the long text of Activity type if time is booking against Activity or Attendance type if it is booked against it.
Pl. advise me how to get it.

The worklist can contain a pool of confirmations, or data that was

I have created the CATS Profile Spro-CA--Time sheet --classical , but its not permissible at CAT2 drop down screen.
Also need to put a button on the CATS screen, so when user presses the button it should trigger intimation to payroll to pay a special rate for the pernr for the current pay period.

Your question was not quite clear. but let me try to answer from what i understood. You are looking for steps to show or hide fields for the work list or data entry view by each CATS Data entry profile. If yes, then here's what you have to do.
Go to tcode - CAC2, select work list or Data Entry Section to display / hide fields. Now, what you see is the field selection that is applicable for all data entry profiles. If you want to make changes to a specific Data Entry Profile, Click on "Influencing" on the menu options and in the Contents field enter the Data entry profile you would like to make changes.

How to Configure CATS Profiles in order for the Hours to be posted to CO

Hi All,
I have quick question for you all, how do I configure the CATS Time Entry Profiles so as to enable me to post the Hours (Different Receiving Cost Centers & Receiving Internal Orders) to CO.
Currently I enter time using TCODE: CAT2 and a CATS Profile and Save the Timesheet.
Following which I Approve Times using CAT4.
Then when I try to transfer time to both HR and CO using TCODE: CATA time gets transferred to HR Time Management Infotypes but not to CO.
I tried a couple of other TCODES as well i.e: CAT7 & CAPS and tried posting to CO but I am getting a message saying that "NO DATA TO TRANSFER" despite there been ample data fit to be transferred to CO.
So, my question to you all is how do you handle this situation in your implementation/organization.

Im not sure why this isnt working.
Try approving timesheets using CATS_APPR_LITE
And check whether the timesheets are approved.
Once that is done.
Run CAT7
This would post the data from CATS to controlling.

Hi Lee,
Thanks for the clarification. Nope this is not possible as your reorganization jobs only keep data for three months - it is not possible.
You can change it from today so that it keep accumulating data for a year in the future and doesn't delete it.
For that you will have to do the following:
Goto Expert Mode, then: Collector and Performance DB -> Monitoring Database -> Reorganization.
Change your settings here for 12 months. This will also explain you the reasoning I gave above.

Defaulting the Absences in 2001 in to cats Profile ( in portal)

i have this requirement, i want to show the absences to be defaulted in the cats profile( my user interface will be portal).
i found threads related to this. but my question is when i am transferring the all the information in to the respective infotypes like 2002(attandaces) and 2001(absences). it shows conflits from the hr master data.
any idea on this.

Ok if I understand correctly,
You will enter absences via ess portal, but you are then loading them programmatic into CATS (Via user exit/background job for example) so that the employee/manager can see the working times and absences together in the CATS iview. But when you go and perform the transfer to PA from CATS your getting errors due to the absences data already existing in PA?
I have done what your trying before, what we had to do was create a "Z" version/copy of the transfer program and make sure it did not transfer absences.
There is no standard way to do this otherwise.

But how to make the profile to accept for multiple personnel numbers in cat2.

Hi
To make the profile accpet for multiple perssonel numbers go to tcode CAC1 select the profile under which you want to enter mulitple numbers. Once your are in that profile go to Person Selection and check the follwoing options
1. Enter for several personnel numbers
2. Select via pers. list
3.Selection Report
leave the rest unchecked/blank. Once you save it, should be able to do multiple entries under CAT2.

CATS Worklist - No display in ESS

Hi Guru's,
We have an issue with displaying CATS worklist in ESS. We are in ECC 6, Ehp 4 ,CE enabled, EP 7.1 environment.
We have implemented CATS worklist user Exit CATS001 extensively. In R/3,CAT2 worklist get displayed and it does seems to be fine. But where in ESS, worklist doesn't showing up and it shows message "Your worklist doesnt contain any data".
At time, when we login CAT2 and view the worklist and then go to ESS, it does show up. However it is not consistent.
As per the OSS notes - 376188, worklists should automatically display in ESS. Appreciate your thoughts.

Hello,
Go to the pernr that has the IT0105-0001 associated with the portal user that you are having the issue and see on SU01 or System -> Own Data -> User profile to see on the PARAMETERS the CVR parameter that he has.
This parameters maps the Data Entry profile that you will be using. If none configured on this Parameter, the default used will be the ESS (case sensitive).

Mobile (phone & tablet) screen profiles not displaying correctly

RoboHelp 11 on a Windows 7 machine
I have a small project that I put down in August and just picked up again today. The only changes I made today were a background color in the selected layout and adding browsers to the screen profiles (desktop, mobile, phone). I also changed the pixel sizes of aforementioned screen profiles, and saved, but ultimately thought better of it and changed them back. I don't know if that would have made any difference to this problem. (When I made the size changes RH told me to update the media queries, but I'm not using any... or at least none came up in the Manage Media Queries functionality.)
Then I re-generated the output, but the tablet and phone screen sizes are no longer displaying properly when I tested by changing the size of my desktop browser--there is a rather large "dead zone" browser size in which no content is displayed at all (which makes it almost seem like the "responsive" part of the output doesn't work), the internal navigation (forward and back buttons, and bar) is shoved up in the header bar, and no browser horizontal scroll bar appears so that I can scroll to see the edge of wide images. I mainly use IE but this occurred in Firefox and Chrome as well. The desktop display seems to work fine. (I'm so sorry I don't have screenshots now--I can provide some if needed.)
I wondered if this had something to do with my chosen "template" but a brand new project that used that same one (Theme1_Standard) didn't have any problems. Now, I also noticed that the template seems to have changed since I was last in Robohelp, because the unchanged template preview today was definitely not the same as the template from August. The Readme for the latest patch didn't mention anything that I thought seemed to be related.
Like I said, all I changed were a color, the screen profile browsers, and the screen profile sizes which I later discarded. I am completely at a loss as to what caused this and how to fix it. I feel like a complete dolt because it seems to be related to something I *DID* but retracing my steps has yielded nothing.

UPDATE
Still having this issue, but in poking around I discovered that some of the program files on my local machine were updated in mid-September (when it looks like the latest patch's ReadMe file was installed on my computer) and others were updated mid-October (the first time I was in RH since mid-August, though I didn't generate anything then). I don't know if this means anything, but to me it looks mildly suspicious. Thx.

In tablet size, an extra wide image does not cause a horizontal scrollbar to appear anywhere at the bottom of the browser to scroll to the right side of the image (sorry this one is hard to see, but the image does go off to the right side of the screen):

Content reappears at a much smaller size and a much larger size, but the top/bottom/and right-side text wrap is off:
(Again, above, notice no horizontal scroll bar despite the extra wide image.)
It may be of note that I can use a different template (e.g. Theme2_Government) and I don't have such problems. I guess this means there's something wrong with the template/layout in this project. Am I just going to have to reconstruct it?

How do I apply renamed display profiles in Display Preferences?

Can someone tell me how I get my renamed colour profiles to show with their new names in Display Preferences?
After creating new profiles when calibrating my monitor, I discovered that because the applied profile names were too long to show up in the display preferences profiles list, they were automatically shortened, thus showing only the prefixed display name part. The result being that they all appear in the list, as having the same name. (I know that holding the pointer over a profile reveals the full profile name, but that is a real pain to have to do each time.)
I discovered that renaming profiles is done via Apple Scripts, but although that changes the name in the Profiles folder (under ColorSync), it has no effect on the names in the display preferences window. Can it be done? If so, how?
Help would be much appreciated.

Hello. Perhaps this is because you are trying to arrange the order of many VPN services, since only one VPN service can be selected at once in System Preferences. In my original post, I did not mean that; I meant that I wanted to arrange the order of VPN configurations within a VPN service. In this screenshot, I have one VPN service only:

Furthermore, it was the order of VPN configurations that I wanted to change, not the order of VPN services. If you are trying to change the order of VPN services, I do not have a solution.

N8 home screen- profile box displaying area code r...

Hi, I have no idea how this happened or how to correct it. I visited American recently (not sure if relevant, but thought it best to include all info), whilst over there the profile display box on my N8 home screen started displaying the area dial code of whatever area I was currently in. I assumed this had something to do with roaming, I did try turning my phone on and off in case it was a weird glitch, but the issue remained. Upon returning back home to the UK the issue is still with me.
When I unlock the phone the profile display correctly displays the selected profile (e.g silent, general, offline etc), but within a few seconds switches to showing the dial code of the area I happen to be in. I know this isn't a massive issue, but I do find it more useful to know which profile my phone is in rather than the dial code for landlines in any given area. As a general rule, I don't just randomly call landline numbers of people I don't know just because I happen to be in the area, which as far as I can tell, would be the only situation in which this info would be useful.
I have tried googling the issue but couldn't find anything. Am really hoping that I am just being stupid and this is quite easy to resolve, but I really couldn't think of how to do it.

No need to apologise, the option doesn't give many clues to what it does. It's an old feature left over from the early days of phones that's irrelevant in many countries now, except for those that really need to know the area code (for calling costs etc).

What do you mean by "display different kind of contents"? do you mean you want to display PDF/HTML/Image based on certain parameters or You are using different media like PC/PDA etc.
In both cases you can redirect to different success page based on your query parameters.

Possible to bypass monitor profile when displaying image?

After importing a large photo library into Aperture I noticed that when viewing images, they would change color and in a little under a second the colors looked significantly less "colorful and rich" than before. Sounds "subjective" but it really is not. There is definitely a transformation going on and the colors consistently become duller on every image viewed. It is especially noticeable in a album of images taken in the fall using a circular polarizer where the colors looked really great to begin with and then extremely dull after the transformation. I deleted all of the preview images and set aperture to not regenerate them. Still, same issue occurred. The issue occurs with both RAW and jpg images.
In Canon Image Browser on the Mac colors look great. It's easy to do an A to B comparison of the same file and see that it looks better in every case.
But what I've discovered is that I can get the same "dulling" result to occur using Canon's Image Browser 6.x software just by setting one option.
There is an option checkbox in Preferences that is disabled by default to "Adjust Image Colors Using A Monitor Profile." Prior to setting that option, the colors looked great, just like they looked on the camera LCD, and they same as they look on my PC also using Canon Image Browser software and Irfan view. The rich colors seen when not using monitor profile also match what I see in Safari, Chrome, and Internet Explorer browsers.
In Canon Image Browser when I set the checkbox to "Adjust Image Colors Using A Monitor Profile" the colors become very muted. They look identical to what I see in Aperture. Also, I can get the same effect to occur on the PC version of Canon Image Browser. Microsoft's "Windows Photo Viewer" seems to be monitor profile aware as it shows the same dull colors. "Windows Photo Viewer" offers no option that I can find to improve the look of the color. Maybe this is what you want if you're trying to print your images and have them match exactly what is seen on screen.
I have found that with Photoshop CS5 I can export a jpg to tiff which strips out the color space information and then voila the image "pops" when I bring it into aperture and looks the way it does in Canon Image Browser without using monitor profile. In fact you can really then compare within Aperture how big the difference is between the two, and the only thing I did was resave the image to a new file format without doing anything else in photoshop. It's not feasible to resave evertthing as tiff though.
So my main question is, is there a way within Aperture to bypass the monitor profile so I can see the images with the same colors as they are rendered in the majority of the other tools I use.

I've done some additional testing on a jpeg image.
Test 1:
Canon Image Browser: "Preferences/Adjust Image Colors Using a Monitor Profile" is unhecked
Photoshop CS5: "View/Proof Setup" is set to "Monitor RGB"
Aperture: "Onscreen Proofing" enabled and set to "Generic RGB" Additionally I've tried every other color profile available
Result: The colors look identically rich on Photoshop and Canon Image Browser. Aperture is the only tool I can't get to align with the rich colors.
Test 2
Canon Image Browser: "Preferences/Adjust Image Colors Using a Monitor Profile" is checked. Restart the software to apply change.
Photoshop CS5: "View/Proof Setup" is set to "Internet standard sRGB"
Aperture: "Onscreen Proofing" enabled and set to "sRGB"
Result: The colors match on all 3 tools. The color are very noticeably less rich than in Test 1.
I went ahead and previewed the image in the browsers on the Mac. Chrome and Firefox showed the color the same as Photoshop and Canon Image Browser did in Test 1 which looks better in my opinion.
For Safari color looks the same as Test 2.
Also Apple Preview looks the same as Test 2 no matter which soft proofing setting is applied.
I believe Adobe and Canon have the correct behavior and show either richer or duller colors depending on which "proofing" mode they are in. Only aperture so far cannot be made to do the richer colors.

Printer profiles not displayed in PS CC dropdown

I created printer profiles using SpyderPrint, which showed up in PS's print dialog box. I then renamed the profiles in Win7. PS still shows the old filenames, and prints from them, but doesn't show the new names. I've restarted, rebooted, started softproof--nothing helps. The new filenames don't show up. How can I refresh the list in Photoshop.CC?

Are you deploying the profile at user or machine level? I know you may know this but others may not but Apple began the deprecation of WorkGroup Manager with 10.7. FWIW those of us who've been using these technologies since 10.2 and earlier learnt to adapt and used a combination of many applications (some 3rd-party) as well as other techniques which over time worked consistently well. I suppose what I'm trying to say is don't pin all your hopes on PM because it's still not 'enterprise-ready' for OS X yet IMO. I think other veterans and professionals in my field may agree? Having said that I did make it work at some installations/deployments since its first release. Yet at other installations I saw exactly the same behaviour as you do. No logical reason as to why as the network contractor was the same for all those sites. For me this effectively ruled out the network topology and infrastructure as a potential source of the problem. Interestingly I noticed it occasionally worked if the printers were in the same subnet as the macs but even this was not conclusive.

Do not transfer one time type in HR but transfer others - CATS profile

I created a dummy time type 0500 and it is doing something . I dont want this 0500 to transfer to HR . But other time types I wanted to transfer to HR . That is why I selected the check box when I setup the profile immediate transfer to HR .
I guess what I am trying to say , is there any way I can stop or I can tell some where in config DONT transfer this particular time type 0500 to HR .

In report RPTEXTPT, please select the attendance/absence check box and make sure you use only the required ones in the time sheet which needed to be transferred.

LongText Display For Fiscal Year

but it is displaying FiscalYearVariant Text and FiscalYear Key when i check Fiscal Year Text/Variable in filters
My Fiscal Year Varnt Text is APR - MAR
When FiscalYear Variable is 2009
then My Fiscal Year Long Text is APR 2009 - MAR 20010
I want to display this Long Text in this Text Element
but it is displaying as APR - MAR 2009
Even Though I selected Display as NoDIsplay in Business Explorer Tab for 0FISCVARNT.
can any one provide me the solution for this please.

If you are in Bi 7.0
Then go to Info-provider Definition -> Right Click on Info-object -> Click on Info-provider specific properties - > Display
Here you have option to choose Key , Lon / short / medium description
