CATS - Time recording dashboard - Missing time issue

Hi Experts,
in CATS the Time Recording Status Report does not show correct number of hours in the missing time column. Please see at the screenshot.
Do you know a solution for this issue? Thanks!

This application uses the below FM's in ecc, check it once is it getting for all employees.
CATS_READ_CATSDB
CATS_GET_TARGET_HOURS
And also check the OADP configurations for view MSS_LCA_EE1
This view retrieves the time recording details for the direct reports and all employees.

Hello,
We are trying to use the application HRESS_A_CATS_CALUI for time recording. But it allows to record time only in 30 min intervals. There is a drop down, from where we can select e.g. 08:00 and 08:30.
Is it possible to reduce this interval or have field where it can be eneterd instead of dropd own.

Yes, you can reduce interval to 15 min, Follow the steps below-
Run
transaction SE80 and select package: PAOC_CATS_ESS_WDA. Select component configuration ‘HRESS_CC_CATS_CALUI_TIME_SEL’ (CATS
Calender UI Configuration for time values) of web dynpro component: ‘HRESS_C_CATS_CALUI’ (CATS Calender UI )
Double click and then click on ‘Display Configuration’ button to get following screen:
Select ‘timeDiff’ to change the interval by clicking on Edit button later. you
can select the ‘Time Difference’ as 15 minutes using dropdown while editing.

Positive & Negative Time Recording.

Hi all,
Could anybody explain about the positive & negative time recording ( with clock times & without clock times )
In which situations with clock times and without clock times are used in negative time management.

Time Management can be bifurcated types:
1. Positive Time (+ve Time) Positive time is plays the total role of workflow. All the processes related to time are automatically gets executed in the background. E.g., in our case it is done only partially to validate the attendance as per punches and other documents with shift timing and generate absence automatically in case of any discrepancy.
2. Negative Time (-ve Time) Where the all time related activities like validation of the attendance, posting of absence for wage deduction etc are done manually. It has less level of integration among the different components of time management.

Payroll using time evaluation with clock times

Dear all,
I have configured an employee to have time management status 1, and my company would like to use attendance for time recording instead of time event since our clocking interface cannot provide exact clock times. I have also configured HRSIF to return 1 for all conditions.
I found every thing run correctly after creating the attendance records for all days of a payroll period while all attendance hours are equal to the planned work time. However, I have modified some of the days to attendance hours less than planned working hours (with no exact time inputted), I've noticed that the time evaluation can be processed successfully, but the attendance hours are not being calculated in the payroll result.
Does SAP actually support payroll for attendance with no exact clock time? If yes, what may I miss in my configurations?

Thanks for the advice.
For suggestion 1, yes, it can do I want if the attendance hours is actuall equal to the planned working hours. However, say I have a case that the planned working hours is 8, and a workman shows up for 6 hours and take 2 hours leave, the system still require me to enter the clock time in order to get the attendance and absence be calculated.
For suggestion 2, I understand that there's always be way if I do programming, however, my company decided not to do any customization, so I should first find if there's a default solution in SAP.

Hi,
Firstly, your client has to decide how the entry exit timings of the employees are going to be captured, and then load them into SAP. The timevents will be updated in IT2011.
One way is to have a third party capture all the events from recording terminals located on the site, have a RFC to get these events to SAP. The time events can then be uploaded into the infotype table TEVEN (IT2011). These programs shud also be scheduled in the backgrnd to run either daily or after sum intervals of time.
In config,
You will have to change the groupings of PS & EE for time recording,
Change the time management status for these employees,
change the feature TMSTA to default the same status for new employees to be hired.
Maintain IT0050 for all employees. (necessary for +ve time)
Change the grouping for Attendance / Absence types
Have to check whether system reactions for time pair formations in system are as per clients requirements
Modify the time mangement schema (with clock times) according to the requirement.
Schedule a background job so that time evaluation is run for all employees once a day. (usually scheduled during the night)
These are some of the changes that I can think about right now hope this is helpful.

How can we integrate CATS & PPM and to retrieve CATS time recording data in PPM ?

Dear experts,
Following the previous question of Ruxandra Petrina called "record times with CATS", I am facing an issue with the report DPR_CATS_CPR_TRANSF : it shows nothing despite I activated PPM accounting integration.
There are the steps I followed, I really don't understand what is missing. In PPM I can transfer and assign my projects to WBS elements automatically or manually.
1. We allowed time confirmation for projects
2. We replicated personal number as business partners
3. We activated worklists and project assignments @ data entry profiles
4. We set up ALE & RFC connections
5. We activated the integration scenarios on WBS element : automatic and manual creation of WBS element assigned to PPM elements. Then we set up data profiles for time recording in cat2.
6. We enter times, we released it (approval is not required) + saving
7; We launch the program in SE38 of both ERP or SOLMAN systems : NOTHING appears.
Our goal is to see the times recorded in CATS in the Confirmed work field of PPM.
Can you please help me out with this issue ?

If tasks assigned to a user is not listed in CAT2 worklist, then first we need to ensure that the tasks are displayed in the worklist. So the user confirm the times for the tasks using this list and after that only we should be running the report 'DPR_CATS_CPR_TRANF' to transfer the actual times entered by user in CAT2 to PPM project task.
To integrate CATS with PPM, you need to follow these steps.
Customisations:
1) Enable 'Time recording' for tasks & 'Account integration' in project type
2) Customisation related to 'Accounting integration' to be carried out (either single object / Hierarchical controlling, for testing better to use single object - Internal order, since it is easier)
3) Create a time sheet data entry profile
(Refer thread Record working times with CATS for details)
4) Ensure all object links(internal order / WBS) RFC destinations are updated correctly.
Master data:
Business partners creation with BUP003-Employee role & link to HR personnel number
(This is not required if HR integration is activated, since the system creates the BP's automatically. But manually we need to validate the BP's for linkage with few users)
Project:
1) Create project using customised project type (where time recording/accounting integration is enabled)
2) Structure the project with phase/tasks
3) Update duration/work etc., to the tasks
3) Create project roles & staff a resource (BP which is validated for HR personnel number linkage).
4) Assign task to project role with resource in Project role-->task tab
6) Release the project definition and also check for phase/tasks release
7) Change the status of project definition to 'Flag for transfer' (Can be done before project release also)
8) Check whether the internal order / PS project with WBS is created in ERP system(Based on customisation) and linked to project. Check can be made in accounting tab of the project. (If it is not created, then check for object link RFC destination correctness)
In case of automatic internal order creation process, you need to enter the org unit. data in project definition-->additional data of the project.
CATS:
After completing all the steps, the task assigned to the user will appear in the CAT2 transaction.
1) User can confirm the task with actual hours.
2) Run the CATS transfer report mentioned above to update the data in PPM project.

WVC54GCA Record & Playback problems : Time issues - Playback - AVI conversion

I have gotten everything to work sort of.
Time: The camera time seems to be becoming issue and I am not quite sure why. I have synced it with my pc an it seems still lose an hour. It will sometimes go and try and find a Nttp server even though I havent specified one.
Playbacks: The program for retrieving and playing your recordings. The window never opens to the correct size. I always have to expand it. The slide bar at the bottom (besides not being able to read the font) doesnt display correctly. The speed bar either doesn't speed up the video fast enough for me or doesn't work at all. I am interested in fast forwarding through the recording to see if there is anything worth saving. I am trying to record 12hours per day.
AVI Conversion: The status box of the conversion box doesn't seem to work. When I convert my video I get lots of avi files and have yet to see the full 12 hours of video converted. Why are the data files broken up.
So I think this has the potential for being a great product but I need to know if these minor but essential software issues are going to be resolved. Are there people working on them. Are they of concern to anyone. My use for the camera is to watch my house and record any mischief. But if I am vandalized then I need to produce a tape of the event. I still havent seen that I can do it with this product.

Did the firmware update but still having issues with date and connecting. I am using the software from another camera that works better than the software that came with the camera. It uses a newer version of the recorder/playback which fast forwards correctly and saves and plays back correctly. The timing issue is irritatting since the camera will not do its scheduled recordings if the time is not the same as the pc. Also I had the camera lock up and not allow me access yesterday (before flash). I had to unplug it to get it back. Yes it has a static ip and the router was powered all day.

I have created an I-tunes playlist consisting of audio recordings recorded in Quick Time 7. The play list works fine in the computer and in the I-pod. However; I am unable to burn the playlist to a Cd disc. what am I missing ?

1. Audio recordings recorded in Quicktime 7 pro . Eighteen separate short recordings (18 tracks).
1A. the combined playlist byte is 28.3 Megabytes
2. Moved to I-tune.
3. Created playlist in I-tunes.
4.I go to file dropdown and request "burn playlist to disc"
5. Burn Settings dialog box appears. I click burn.
6."Insert blank disc", appears in top wlindow.
7. insert blank disc; the 'Insert blank disc order" disappears but nothing happens after that.
There is no indication or even a hint of anything happening.

CATS Notifications If No Time recording for the day

Hi
I wan to trigger the Notification to employee If He is not recorded his work time for particular week.
Ex: EE worked on some tasks in particular project as per the target hours, But he forgot to fill the time shee at the end of the week. Now i want to send reminder mail notification to EE mail ID(or mail to UWL) to fill the time sheet. How to go with this requirement?!!!
Do I need work flow for this? Can i configure anything in the back end?
Pls can anyone give details on this how to fulfill this requirement?
We don not have time management in place,Its not yet implemented. Work Envr:ECC 6.0, CATS Regular

Time Recording in ESS is tied to CATS?

Hi, I am new to ESS//MSS. I am HCM consultant, like to know more on ESS side. I heard Time Recoding is linked to CATS data entry profiles. Is this only way we can enable time recording using ESS? In other words all the web-dynpro's provided in ess package is tied to CATS? If company is using ESS that means they are using CATS in back end?

Sorry to reiterate, I was asking in ESS, is iviews are tied to CATS? in other words if company is implementing ESS, do they need to first setup CATS? Some thing is confusing CATS is used for data transfer and for having approval workflow.
From the process point, Data can be loaded from Time Recording systems into individual info types (IT2001, 2002..) OR can be pushed to CATS and then transferred into info types. My question, Is Time recoding using ESS portal is tied to CATS or can be pushed to individual info types with out CATS? vanilla instance (out of the box)

CATS viz Time Recording in Time events IT 2011

Hi Experts
Need some urgent guidance. We are using punch cards to record timing. I understand that time recording machine will upload the records in Time event IT 2011.
On the other hand we have requirement where the real time should be there in CATS for employees so that PS can use for project planning and posting.
Presently we have time admin those manually key in time recording data in Cats but going forward we use time cards to record time.
How we can go ahead where we can use time machine to record also plus it uploads the time entries in cats.
Will appreciate your response on this.

Time recorded from the external systems can be obtained as a text file and will be uploaded to CATS using a customized program designed by ABAPers.

Import map issue one record at a time

Hello Experts,
I built an import map to run it manually with import manager, but when I click on Ready to Import, the import manager is doing one record at a time. I have to go back to the match tab and refresh in order to import the rest.
Any idea where to setup a setting to import all records at once?

Please check if your matching criteria results in fewer records,what is the matching criteria you are setting?
Do you see a total of 300 under "Create" Match Action?
No of records to be imported is governed by Match action which tell the MDS which are distinct records,Match Action tells MDS what is to be done with this number of records which have this Match type.
Please check if you have "SKIP" as match action,if yes use a appropriate action for match type.
Do a "Save Update" of the map.
Please revert with results.

Print out of time stamp ( time recording) in DBM ( using cats)

in DBM we use standard time recording, everytime we post time stamp the system prints output of the time stamp
we want to stop it...however is probobly control in HR . Any hints where?
we use cac1 profile

I was thinking about something like the snipped added below. My version is very simple, but I think that it shows how it can be done. You need to have Excel on your machine. (Disclaimer: This is my very first use of the Report Generation Toolkit in LabVIEW, so maybe there is a better way to do it)
I made the VI labels visible, so that you know what function was used, if the Toolkit is not included in your LabVIEW license. The same thing can be done with ActiveX automation. If you are not familiar with it, there are a lot of examples in the forums about generating Excel files via ActiveX.

It seems that I've solved this issue. To get it work:
1. Select checkbox Time Recording and Travel Expenses via CATS for project type. Path: SPRO —> SAP Customizing Implementation Guide —> SAP Portfolio and Project Management —> Project Management —> Structure => Define Project Types
2. Run/schedule a synchronization with the report DPR_CATS_CPR_TRANSF (Transfer of CATS Itemizations to Project Management Application).
