CATS viz Time Recording in Time events IT 2011

Hi Experts
Need some urgent guidance. We are using punch cards to record timing. I understand that time recording machine will upload the records in Time event IT 2011.
On the other hand we have requirement where the real time should be there in CATS for employees so that PS can use for project planning and posting.
Presently we have time admin those manually key in time recording data in Cats but going forward we use time cards to record time.
How we can go ahead where we can use time machine to record also plus it uploads the time entries in cats.
Will appreciate your response on this.

Time recorded from the external systems can be obtained as a text file and will be uploaded to CATS using a customized program designed by ABAPers.

    I only see the iViews from the package:
    - benefits and payment (x2)
    - career and job (x2)
    - career & job
    - employee search (x2)
    - overview
    - personal information (x2)
    - purchasing (x2)
    - travel and expenses (x2)
    - work environment (x2)
    - working time (x2)
    x2 = one ist "area" and one is "serv"

    Some more issues .
    1: I am not able to view any Attendance type/Absence type in Timesheet page , though i have selected it as an input field.
    2: I needed an additional field with free text, so selected additional field as an input but not getting this also in ESS.
    3: I got these fields  Project and Project subobject, but these are disabled ones, with no LOV or free text option. I want to know how do i get values here , is there any PA or OM infotypes ,where i can assign Project details and then fetch it here ?
    4: Task Type , Level and Component.

    This appears correctly, but my issue is when I select type 1 , in Level I can view A and B, also all the component are appearing, if you select level A.
    I want to restrict this. When I select type 1, I should be able to view only Level A. Is this possible in Stanndard ? Same for Level and component asignment.

  • ESS Record Working Time - How to set up approvals?

    Hello experts,
    I've hit a bit of a roadblock and could use some direction.  I have recently implemented the newer ESS_WDA role in our sandbox environment to see what it had all to offer.  Using LPD_CUST to customize the ESS launchpad role, instance = menu, I have successfully implemented the Record Working Time WD application and have it running fine.  Using CAC1 I created two profiles, ESS (without approvals) and Z_ESS_A (with approvals).  Using the ESS profile, a user can enter time into their ESS time sheet, save, and thus time is entered into CATS and their IT2001/2002.
    Now, Z_ESS_A is another story.  Some time this year, we'd like all our US administrative personnel to enter time using ESS Recording Working Time (HRESS_A_CATS_1) however, they would need to have all their time approved by their reporting manager (or a backup) before it goes into IT2001/2002.
    I'm a bit fuzzy on the process, but I would like the approval to be done by their reporting manager in Manager Self-Service using the Approve Time Sheet application (HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL) and not by click on some link in their UWL.  I assume this is set up by assigning a task in the workflow section under Approval in the data entry profile, but I have no idea what task to assign.  Do we need to create a custom task? Am I on the right path or is there another path I should be pursuing?   Ideally, if the manager is unable to approve the associate's time sheet, we would have a backup enter their MSS and approve time sheets that haven't been approved by the direct manager yet.

    Hi Garrett,
    System identified the Record working time profile from the value against User Parameter CVR in SU01.
    If you maintain ESS against CVR it triggers without approval
    If you maintain Z_ESS_A against CVR it triggers Approval process

    You need to change the CVR parameter value to Z_ESS_A for that period for all US administrative employees for that duration. Again you need to change it to ESS once that duration is over.

    Below tick in CAC1 triggers workitems to UWL, if not only sent to Approve Time sheet application in MSS.

    above is the navigation where you configure approval process.
    SAP_LINE is also a user parameter for managers in SU01 against CATS_APPR_PROF.
    So Employee SU01 - CVR = ESS or Z_ESS_A
           Manager  SU01 - CATS_APPR_PROF = SAP_LINE or Custom one.

    It doesn't work based on A002/B002 relation, it works based on Chief Relation (A012/B012) to Org.Unit.
    Let us say X is the chief for A org.unit, all the positions those belong to A org.unit shown under X as reportee employees, so X can be the approver for A1, A2, A3 and so on.

  • To unhide the columns of " Record Working Time " table

    hi experts ,
    Can any one suggest me how to unhide some columns of the table "Record Working Time" .
    Actually I have tried the following procedure : content admin -> portal content -> iview -> Rclickctrlalt and check the property of the table and displayed all the columns . It shows all the columns perfectly .
    Finally , when I checked the table in Employee self service -> Working time -> Record working time , I can not see some columns which are visible in content admin "Record Working Time " iview .
    It is a standard webdynpro java application "CatDataRecord" .

    I have all the administration right . When  I  check the iview in 'Content Admin' I can see all the columns , but when I check the same iview under  'ESS role' i can not see some of the columns  of "Record Working Table ". That is my problem . Can you tell me what is the reason behind it  ? I always save  all the changes after any modification .

    Please let me know in ESS (Time Management) how can I set Weekly View as default instead of Daily view under Record Working time in EHP5?
    1> If Personalization could only be applied on JAVA Web Dynpro iVews, what can be done in case of WD4A?
    2> Can the view changes be done in Content Administration or the changes could only be done in "Component configuration/enhancement" to achieve the requirement? If it could only be done using "Component configuration/enhancement" can you please help me with the same.

    In R3, goto PM - PA - ESS - Service specific settings - Woring time - Record working time - Set up data entry profile - Select the data entry profile which is assigned to the employees in their CVR Parameters(ex.ess sf) - Maintain the PERIOD SETTING as 2 (which is the weekly view).

    Time management can be divided into 3 steps
    1.Time Recording
    2.Time Evaluation
    3. Planning
    Time Evaluation :
    The recorded time data is grouped and converted to wage types which can be used by payroll for compensation.SAP provides a time evaluation program RPTIME00 for this purpose.
    Standard schemas TM00 and TM04 are used for evaluation of time data got from positive and negative time recording approaches.
    time evaluation program RPTIME00 also calculates accrual and entitlement for employees.

  • DBM Time recording Event type sequence

    Hi Experts, Is it possible to define the sequence for time recording event types in standard? Currently we are able to perform the end order event before the Start order event. The entry gets stored in table /DBM/TM_TEVENT. Another example is - We can perform the Clock Out event type before Clock IN. These event types should be in sequence. System should not allow to perform Clock Out if Clock IN has not happened for the day. Is there any way out to fulfill the above requirement. Kindly suggest. Regards, T.R.S.Praveen

    Try below suggestion, in my opinion there isn't a standard config to define the sequence since there cannot be a fixed sequence since requirement might differ from customer to customer:
    When time events are entered at DBM time recording terminals, the system logs a time event for a personnel number in a first step, and in a second step CATS data records are created from the sequence of the logged time events.
    You can influence the posting of time events of a DBM time recording terminal in CATS by using the BAdI /DBM/BADITM_TEVENT_PROC.
    You can use the BAdI method ACTION_AFT_CHECK_TIME_EVENTS to process the CATS records generated from the time events before they are saved to the database. The method supplies the current personnel number, the current terminal key and the affected time events for information purposes; you can change the proposed CATS records that are to be saved.

  • To transfer time events from external time recording system to sap r/3

          I have a task to make an interface program between external time recording and sap r/3, and then to transfer the time events from that external system to sap system with the help of an rfc, i have got some information like the data first has to be transferred to the table CC1TEV and then from this table the data will be uploaded to 2011 infotype with the help of a standard program, but i am unable to find a solution for making the interface program and the RFC or BAPI which will transfer the records from external system.
        if anybody has any information on this plz help me out to solve this problem.

  • While Installation of 11g database creation time error ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error

    Hi Friends,
    OS = Windows XP 3
    Database = Oracle 11g R2 32 bit
    Processor= intel p4 2.86 Ghz
    Ram = 2 gb
    Virtual memory = 4gb
    I was able to install the oracle 11g successfully, but during installation at the time of database creation I got the following error many times and I ignored it many times... but at 55% finally My installation was hanged nothing was happening after it..... 
    ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error  and at 55% my Installation got hung,,,, I end the installation and tried to create the database afterward by DBCA but same thing happened....
    Please some one help me out, as i need to install on the same machine .....

    But  I didnt got the link of EM and when try to create a new connection in sql developer it is giving error ( Status : failure - Test Failed the Network Adapter could not establish the connection )

    Creation of the dbcontrol requires a connection via the listener.  When configuring the dbcontrol as part of database creation, it appears that the dbcontrol creation step runs before the dynamic registration of the databsase with the listener is complete.  Now that the database itself is completed and enough time (really, just a minute or two) has passed to allow the instance to register, use dbca or emca to create the dbcontrol.
    Are you able to get a sqlplus connection via the listener (sqlplus scott/tiger@orcl)?  That needs to be the first order of business.

    Hi,
    In the CAC1 tCode, in the data entry profile you need to select the With clock times.
    As per ur requrirement you have created the work scheudles. you assigend that work scheudle in 0007 for the employee.
    While going to CAT2 tcode. there next to total colum one column is there WE  there you can give the total hrs. on the basis of
    works Schedule system will take that attendacne in the 2002 infotype. Then you can approve and transfer to HR through CAT4.
    Then you can go and see in the 2002 infotype there you can see the start time and end time.
