Hi!
The catsdb hours and the hours coming in Actual Hours field of Dates for activities are not matching.
What can be the reason for this mismatch?

Hi CATSDB table is the raw table for the reccording the your CATS postings. That is having all type of data approved, awaiting approval, delected records, transfered records.
You you have to check other tables based on your customization.
Please refer page no 173 of this link. Most probabaly taht table could be COBK / AFRU.

Hi,
We have created a new table which is a copy of CATSDB and has some more Fields in it. While inserting records to the table, it is throwing the error saying " is not a time unit". Can you please provide some info on this ?
This is a complete custom Table that reuses all the Includes of CATSDB table and some more columns.

Changing emp time data in CATSDB - user exit for CAT2?

Hi experts,
My requirement is to change the wage type against which the employee working hours gets stored in CATSDB table.
I understood that through CAT2 tcode, the data is getting stored in CATSDb table.
So can anyone tell me the user exit or Badi which will get trigger on SAVE of the CAt2 transaction.
or else, in what way i can achieve my requirement? Pls suggest.

iam developing a customizing Hr report fro that i need one filed called takslevel from CATSDB table,
the actual data for that field is like k1,l1 in the table,but i wna tto fetch its description,fro ex : thae tasklevel is k1 then text is analyssi, can any one help me out how can i fetch that.

if the transactions are custom one, then you can do some work around.
But i dont know how you will do it for standard ones.
Aa far as i know this requiorement has a least possibility.

Negative Hours into CATSDB

HI All,
How do we post Negative Hours into CATSDB table? We have a program that creates records and posts them into CATSDB, but I would like to know how we can post negative hours. The problem is, when we are trying to post negative hours into CATSDB, the record errors out saying 'only positive hours can be posted'.

Hi you cant not post the negative hours in catsdb table... either you post absence hours as mentioned by one of the friend in the lead...otherwise if you wish to post negative hours than its mean that time event will follow like this

3. coming to workplace time to
mean leaving to workplace which actually a time event which should be posted after coming to workplace need to posted before coming to workplace in order to sytem to get the difference of time as negative hours which cant be a business scenario..
if you r not agree than please elaborate the business scenario under which you would like to post the negative time in catsdb

CATSDB and Payroll Hours Reconciliation

Hello,
The problem is this: Given a date range from the selection screen, get the hours worked (catshours) from CATSDB and then match it up from the payroll hours (ANZHL) from RT to see if there is any discrepancy.
To solve this problem, I am reading the RGDIR and looping where PAYDT is between pn-begda and pn-endda and strza eq 'A' (active) and void ne 'V'. Then getting the sequence numbers in an internal table and calling the RT table for all the sequence numbers. Finally adding the ANZHL based on LGART.
From CATSDB side, select catshours where pernr eq pernr-pernr, workdate between pn-begda and pn-endda, status eq (from select options), awart eq (from select options) into an itab. Then adding up the catshours in the itab.
The problem is the data is not matching up..is it because the dates (pn-begda pn-endda and payroll periods are not matching up?) what is wrong?

Thanks Manu...I appreciate it. Actually I realized that I was counting the hours multiple times for the same For Period because of the Off-Cycle Payments/Additional Payments etc. I will use "PAYTY EQ ' '" to exlclude the additional runs/off cycles etc. Lets see if it works..

HR-ABAP catsdb and pa0001 link

I am using catsdb and Pa0001 tables.In my selection screen
i am using workdate field.
In My report i have to display only exempt employees depending
on workdate ranges only.
I want to know how to link between these two tables using exmpt employee.

As far as my understanding u have a subtype in Employee Group(pa0001-persg) and u want to select the employees depending upon this subtype in between Work dates(CATSDB-WORKDATE).If yes then the task is simple u need to select the data depending upon PERNR.Becoz PERNR is common between these two tables.If u didnot get the answer then Provide me the exact requirement.

CATSDB values are copied from HR in real-time

We use default values in IT 315 to report in CATS. At some point we have discovered wrong default values and changed them in the HR records.
But the "wrong" values were already copied into CATSDB table for posting, even though entries are not posted yet into finance.
Is there any OSS note/program that can refresh CATSDB with current values from the HR records? Otherwise we have to cancel/reverse and report again that is time consuming.

No need to reverse or cancel the posted entries. since you have not posted in finance. it can overwrite.
Go to transaction code CAT2 , make the required changes and save the data.
Then with CAT5 transfer the data once again , it will overwrite your existing data.

We added additional fields in CATSDB (customer fields). This errors out in ESS.
Is there anything else needs to be done after adding these fields? Do we have to adjust profiles?

How to make out if the catshours stored in the catsdb fall in the same row of the timesheet?

We have similar but slightly different requirement to display Short text field on time sheet. My understanding is that each entry in CATSDB represent single cell (one day for one selected WBS or attendance type) entry. Now we want to display and capture short text field along with these day entries.. like
Monday Monday text
Tuesday Tuesday text
7.5        Offsite work
7.0          US office
If this can be done on the webdynpro application side or we have to use custom enhancement cats0005 to use them as a custom field.
