Caught between a rock and a Hard place... FCS 1/FCS 2

I have my CC ready to purchase FCS 2... have not had access since FCP 4.5 and REALLY need to get a ton of tape into digi.
I went to buy and of course FCS 1 is off the shelves and FCS 2 not avail till May, who knows when...
Can someone PLEASE give me a suggested app to capture my digi so I can at least be prepared for when FCS arrives? Even if i have to do a little work in iMovie I am prepared to use that tool...
I found iDive, which is a great little tool , but it will not do HDV, of which I am using. I have thought of capturing in iMovie and export QT for later use in FCS... does that make sense? Or is it a total mistake? I do not mind if some of this older footage looses a little quality if that is what iMovie will do.

Do not capture in iMovie. Not compatible with FCP.
Try Cat DV if it does HDV. Seems to be a popular option around here.

  • Stuck between a rock and a hard place

I need help making a decision:
I'm currently attending school for graphic design (to do it full time) and at our school we'll be learning CS5 on MACs.
I've been doing graphic design for roughly 10 years in my spare time and eventually self taught myself on CS2 on a PC.
Now, I had thought about buying a MAC Book and CS5 (we get Adobe discounts thru my school) to learn, use, and do my freelance work, but that's a heavy investment. I have been thinking about buying a PC laptop, CS5, and a tablet which would be less than just a MAC Book, but now I don't know what laptop to get.
I'd like to hear some feedback from the community to steer me in the right direction or offer some helpful advice.
    Thanks.

    Get a Sager Notebook.
Get it with 3 internal hard drives and my gut feeling is, get the most powerful Nvidia card available with that notebook (read further though).  Just don't let them sell you on dual Nvidias.  Make sure the drives are 7200 RPM.  This might be a little pricey, but if you must have a notebook, Sager is one of the best options available.  Some of the guys here should be available to tell you their experiences with laptop specific Nvidia cards as they relate to MPE performance.  I once did the hack/tweak on an earlier Sager's Nvidia card.  The tweak enabled Mercury, but there was no significant performance benefit.  It may be because of the difference between laptop and desktop video cards,  It is entirely possible that none of the laptop Nvidia cards are providing any worthwhile Mercury performance gains.  I don't have a laptop, so a Sager guy might be able to provide better information in the area of MPE laptop performance

  • Between a rock and a hard place :(

This is a cross platform dilemma; After Effects / Flash / Premiere.
Made a complex After Effects illusion (360 MB SWF file) that I need to make a video of.
Put it into Premiere but the "Export to Media" did not do a very good job of it. Tried quicktime, MPEG4 and H.264 formats.
Then tried a small segment in Flash and the "Export to Movie" did a great job; but it choked when I put the full file in.
So then… One app can handle large files of low quality. Another app can handle small files of high quality.
Well what if we need a large file to also be decent quality?
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Rick (cool name)
I do admit to not knowing as much as I should when it comes to compression. As a prepress technician we are expected to know everything for our customers so some things slip between the cracks.
I try to work as lossless as I can but as you know; there is no going back to what was lost in the past. That is not the case here.
I am trying to find out why files I created from scratch in AE free of compression of any kind look like crap when brought into Premiere but look great when output from shorter segments from Flash.
Excuse my ignorance, but does using the Media Encoder yield different results?
    TC, Rick.

  • Between a rock and a hard place - 64-bit O/S issues again :(

I'm trying my best to keep calm about this, but it really is just taking the urine now.
Essentially, I have been EXTREMELY wary of updating iTunes on XP64 since Columbus set sail at a similar time that v7.2 was released. This version alone seemed stable enough. It never complained or argued about the burner or software not being visible and I had in turn, no issues backing up my library.
Silly me thought that the burning issues within 7.3 and 7.4 would be long gone by the time v7.5 was released? So after a recent clean format of XP64, I naturally installed the latest version and pointed it towards my iTunes library on a seperate partition.
During the iTunes launch, it did complain that the installation hadn't been successful. Normally, this would cause plenty of head scrathing and a puzzled look - but hey, this IS iTunes after all. It flaps about anything and falls back on the Error Generator of Randomness to give you an inkling that something is amiss.
So I thought nothing of it....... until I got to burning a CD and the 'Ol Faithful of 'no burner or software could be found' popped its head up again. As with other posters, Daemon Tools has been a main culprit in this - but DT wasn't even installed on here, so it couldn't be that.
Ah well, back to v7.2 it is then - at least that works fine. Except it doesn't now. Clearly there has been a major change within 7.5 to the way that the library file works and now 7.2 reports.....
"The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." After which, iTunes automatically closes.
Maybe if I use the contents of the Previous iTunes Libraries folder and paste them back, it may work? Erm, no.
So now I'm in the position where 7.2 that used to burn ok, no longer launches. And 7.5 is on par with a glass hammer or chocolate fireguard because its slid down the evolution pole and gone worse than the version three generations before it. Namely, useless.
A tad annoyed - especially as I have Vista waiting to be installed. And yep, it will be the 64-bit version too. If iTunes fails to work (which I'm 99% confident it will fall flat on its face in) - then not only will my Nano take permanent residence on the shelf, but iTunes will never darken my PC's hard drive, ever again.
To say that iTunes is still NOT 64-bit compatible for PCs is an absolute joke. Unless Apple has been on some other planet and remained blissfully unaware of current PC hardware - then I'll remind them. 64-bit is not uncommon these days guys - and it looks like its here to stay.

You can connect to the internet through the router with an ethernet cable? When you try to connect via AirPort do you see the network? Is the router's firmware up to date? Does you ISP require authentication? If so is the necessary information entered in the router?
One thing that often works is to shut off the router and modem. Start the modem and after all lights are on start the router. Once it's up and running try to connect. If you entered any information in your network preferences, create a new location and select "Using DHCP" for Configure IPv4 and that's it. Don't enter anthing else then click "Apply Now" and try to connect.

  • Find My iPhone killed by "wipe" - rock and a hard place :-(

Here is a little story that did not end well, but maybe I am not understanding how Find My iPhone works.  If I'm not, please let me know.
Last week my wife lost her iPhone and so we went through these steps:-
    1. Used Find My iPhone to locate it - but it was switched off or out of range
    2. Sent an alert to the phone requesting the finder call my iPhone's number
    3. Waited for something to happen, checking Find My iPhone periodically, but it was not located
So here is the tough choice.  "Wipe" the phone and destroy the "Find My iPhone" capability OR don't wipe it and maybe expose the data in the phone to unauthorized access.  Not much of a choice.
So we decided to "wipe" the data off the iPhone, assuming that AT&T would still be able to locate the phone by its unique ID.
About 24 hours later, MobileMe sent my wife an email to advise that the "wipe was successful".
So somebody turned the phone on.  We will never know if that "somebody" was willing to return the phone or planned to keep it, because "wipe" ensured that we could no longer communicate with the finder of the iPhone and we could no longer locate it.
On top of that AT&T told us that they could not use the iPhone's unique ID to help recover it, and that if someone decided to put another SIM card into the phone, then my wife's iPhone was theirs, and AT&T could/would do nothing to stop them.
What's wrong with this picture?  Quite a lot, if you think it through!!
Is there anything we could have done better or could do now to get this iPhone back?

The answer to both questions is no, unfortunately.
If someone "finds" an iPhone, all they need to do is wipe it and the true owner cannot use Find my iPhone any more.
Cell phone companies won't track down a missing phone, or help in finding it unless directed so by law enforcement.
Bottom line is that we all have to be more careful of our valuables, in this case the iPhone.

  • Stuck between a rock and a hard spot

Well, I am waiting on a superviser to give me a call back for some time now. Here is my problem. My works intranet sends alot of adobe and flash vids to my email. I currently have a razor with the droid op system. It wont open any files up nor will my other droid electronics. All my coworkers got I phones so should have I. So long story short, I contacted vcs andexplained my situation and tried to get an early upgrade for an iphone 4s. I was giving the run around by customer service,  even though it seemed as they were trying to help. So I can pay my 350 early termination fee, go to att and get my wife and I, 2 iphone 4s for 99 cents a peice and save 496 dollars. So if I stay with verizon they will sell me an I phone 4s for 449 each. Over the past year and half I have paid over 3200 dollars in sevice fees to Verizon.  Never late or missed a payment. so should I switch or can a verizon rep please help me?
    thanks,
    david

What you're asking for is not fair to Verizon or any Customer Service Representative who cannot grant your request, you signed the agreement just like Verizon did that you would exchange the discount in the price of your Droid device for a two year contract where you would pay your monthly bill, Verizon fulfilled thier part, giving you service for the last year for your money and they gave you the discount on the phone like agreed, YOU'RE the one trying to break/amend the contract after the fact. That you need an iphone for work is either something you probably knew before you're purchase or was irrelevant at the time, neither of which is their fault. And so what if AT&T will give you an IPHONE 4S for $0.99? of course they will, so would Verizon if you were a new customer or upgrade eligible and BTW you forgot AT&T's activation fee and first month of service in your calculations plus your ETF with Verizon when you break your contract. All those Verizon reps are doing is upholding the contract which they are perfectly justified in doing. Also most of the iphones are not capable of being early upgraded due to contracts with the manufacturer. Did it ever occur to any customer that has a contract with Verizon that Verizon has thier own contracts?

  • Caught between Imovie 09 and FCE

I am caught in between these two programs.
I am a beginner and only need the basic editing tools available in Imovie, yet I have an AVHD camcorder and want to import footage at maximum resolution. I have been importing at full resolution and exporting to Quicktime. There is a significant reduction in quality in the final movie (even when played back on the computer).
Does anyone know if '09 will be updated any time soon to allow for full HD editing?
Are there are editing programs for mac that are simple to use but allow for lossless editing?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

So here we are, more than half way through '10 and we're still stuck not having a lossless means for editing without mortgaging the house?
I've got iMovie '06 and I've been trying to use it on Snow Leopard (10.6.4) and I'm getting crashes which detract from my happy life.
Do we have any indications that Apple might be fixing this in the near future?
I've got video of my daughter's HS graduation that is PRECIOUS and I don't want to be dropping bits left and right.
    Thanks for everyone's time.

  • My iTunes appears to be installed on my laptop (25%) and external hard drive (75%). To get it all in 1 place is it simply a copy-paste exercise for the folders?

My iTunes appears to be installed on my laptop (25%) and external hard drive (75%). To get it all in 1 place is it simply a copy-paste exercise for the folders?

Most probably, you have a 'private'-folder = part of an AVCHD-structure on your root-level of that drive.
Put it back into its folder (or any folder) - done.
    Don't rip AVCHD-folders apart!

  • Running an Alarm app (now removed) when I noticed my phone alternating between a blank screen & my passcode screen. Powering off and the hard shutdown did not resolve problem. Plugged in headset, phone works normal. Remove headset problem returns.

iPhone 4 - - I was trying out the Alarm 4 free app.  I set the alarm for 2 minutes into the future for a test.  After one minute my phone naturally went to auto-lock and into sleep mode.  At approximately the time the alarm should have activated I noticed my iPhone 4 alternating between a blank screen with the apple logo to the passcode screen.  The passcode screen is only visible for a short moment so I am unable to attempt to input my passcode.
I tride a normal shutdown and the "hard" shutdown.  The shutdowns work OK but when the phone comes back up it returns to the blank screen with apple logo & passcode screen loop.
The interesting part - - I plugged in a headset and the phone works normal!  Unplug the headset and the phone returns to the "loop".
BTW - yes I did remove the Alarm 4 application!
I also turned off the auto-lock feature.  With the auto-lock off the phone loops between the blank w/apple logo screen and my home/slide-to-unlock page.
So - - - as long as I leave the headset plugged in the phone works normal.  If I remove the headset my phone reverts back to the "loop".
    Any ideas?

As a matter of fact I DID get my phone to work.  "Google" the term "recovery mode for iphones".
    You'll find lots of hits.
    Here is an example -
    http://www.tipb.com/2009/01/29/iphone-101-put-iphone-recovery-mode/
There are a few different explanations throughout the Google-world.  Some are better explained than others.
    Bottomline - it worked!!!!
Be advised the Recovery Mode is truly a last ditch effort.  In essence you will completely wipe your phone of everything and "recover" it to straight-out-of-the-box.  Be warned!
    Good luck!

  • I am trying to gather all of my music into one place, but it is scattered throughout my computer and external hard drive, how can I put it all in one folder and then create one library off of it?

My first problem is that I need to get all of my music files in one folder, they are scattered throughout my computer and external hard drive and I am trying to get them all together. Afterwards I want to send this music to my microsd hard in my Samsung Galaxy s4, is there a way to proceed through this? Or at least one part of it?

    Consolidate your iTunes Library
As for the other part of the question, iTunes syncs with Apple devices.
Simply copy the media desired from the computer to the microSD card.  This has nothing to do with iTunes.

  • What's the difference between EQ off and flat?

What is the difference between EQ off and flat? Are all the frequency's at the same place as if it were flat?

OFF uses iTunes EQ settings, if any.
FLAT overrides iTunes EQ settings, if any
    Close.
In Flat, if a song has a preset EQ set in iTunes, it
will use that preset, otherwise it does not use any
    EQ.
In Off, the EQ is not used at all.
Page 28 of the very fine manual for 2n Gen nano:
    Using the Equalizer
You can use equalizer presets to change the sound on iPod nano to suit a particular music genre or style. For example, to make rock music sound better, set the equalizer to Rock. To use the equalizer to change the sound on iPod nano:
Choose Settings > EQ and choose an equalizer preset.
If you assigned an equalizer preset to a song in iTunes and the iPod nano equalizer is set to Off, the song plays using the iTunes setting. See iTunes Help for more information.
Hmmmm...? There's nano's EQ and iTunes' EQ...

  • NFS problem between RedHat Client and Solaris Server

Hi all, we are experiencing a problem between a RedHat client and a Solaris 10 server. For the purposes of this post, I'll call the Redhat client server A and the Solaris 10 server B.
Server B is exporting a filesystem that server A is trying to mount. Server A can successfully mount the exported file system, however, strange things are happening. If I change to the exported mount point on server A and create a file, the file is owned by nobody:nobody, not the user that created the file.
A look at the file on server B shows the file has the correct UID and GID (ie the UID & GID of server A).
The fstab file on server A looks like this:
    serverB:/data /data nfs4 rsize=32768,wsize=32768,hard,nointr,rw,bg,actimeo=0,timeo=300,suid 0 0
Does anyone have a explanation for this?
NB: There is a firewall between server A and server B. A firewall rule is in place to allow traffic between the two servers on port 2049
    Stewart

    Hi
If I change to the exported mount point on server A and create a file, the file is owned by nobody:nobody, not the user that created the file.On a NFS share, for security reasons, you normally dont have root provileges.
A file createt as root user will be mapped to nobody:nobody.
The behaviour you see is correct.
If you want the file to be createt as root, you have to export the filesystem with -o ro,anon=0
NFSv3 will be blocked by your firewall.

  • Difference between line type and table type

    hi,
can any one explain the difference between line type and table type . and how to declare a internal table and work area in BSP's

    hi,
Go through this blog, this might help you.
    /people/tomas.altman/blog/2004/12/13/sdn-blog-how-to-do-internal-tables-in-bsp
People who have worked with ABAP for a while sometimes forget that the internal table concept is rather different than what exists in most programming languages. It is very powerful, but at the same time can be confusing.
In SAP it is possible to have a table which is the rows and a headerline which is the working area or structure which can then be commited to the table.
With a BSP, if we try to create an internal table within the BSP event or layout we will get the following error: mso-bidi-
"InternalTableX" is not an internal table - the "OCCURS n" specification is mso-bidi- missing.
class="MsoNormal"><![if !supportEmptyParas]>The problem we are seeing as an inconsistency has to do with the difference between classic ABAP and ABAP Objects. When SAP introduced ABAP Objects they decided to clean up some of the legacy syntax and create stricter rules. However they didn't want to break the millions of line of code that already existed, so they only implemented these stricter checks when OO is being used. Therefore you can declare a table with a header line in a regular ABAP program or Function Module but you can't have one with a header line in OO.
Because everything in BSP generates ABAP OO classes behind the scenes, you get these same stricter syntax checks. My suggestion is that you have a look in the on-line help at the section on ABAP Objects and always follow the newer syntax rules even when writing classic ABAP programs.
In a BSP when we need to work with a table we must always do the following:
1, in the Types definitions create a structure:
                            types : begin of ts_reclist,
    mso-bidi-        style='mso-tab-count:2'>                            receiver type somlreci1-receiver,
    mso-bidi-        style='mso-tab-count:2'>                 style='mso-tab-count: 1'>             rec_type type somlreci1-rec_type,
    mso-bidi-         style='mso-tab-count:2'>                            end of ts_reclist.
    mso-bidi- <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
but we must remember this is only a structure definition and we cannot store anything in it, although we can use it elsewhere as a definition for Structures(WorkAreas)
2, in our Types definitions (this is the best place for this one as we can then access it from many areas without having to create it locally) so in the Types definitions we must create a TableType:
    class="MsoNormal">                         types : tt_reclist type table of ts_reclist.
class="MsoNormal"><![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]> this TableType is our table definition and again we cannot store anything in it, but we can use it elsewhere as a definition for InternalTables
3, now that you have laid the foundations you can build and in the event handler, it is now simply a case of creating the InternalTable based upon the Table definition:
                           data: t_reclist type tt_reclist.
and creating the structure based upon the structure definiton:
    <![if !supportEmptyParas]>   <![endif]>                         data: s_reclist type ts_reclist.
as described above, the structure becomes the work area and this is where you assign new values for elements of the table eg:<![endif]>
                            s_reclist-receiver = '[email protected]'.   "<-- change address
    mso-bidi- <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
    mso-bidi-                         s_reclist-rec_type = 'U'.
and then once the data is in the elements of the structure, the structure can be appended to the internal table as follows: class="MsoNormal">
                            append s_reclist to t_reclist.
    <![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
the internal table will then be readable for the ABAP function and can be applied for example as follows: class="style1">           style='mso-tab-count:1; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, mono;'>
    class="style1">CALL FUNCTION 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'
                            EXPORTING
    style='mso-tab-count:2'>                                    document_data = docdata
    style='mso-tab-count:2'>                                    DOCUMENT_TYPE = 'RAW'
    style='mso-tab-count:2'>                                    PUT_IN_OUTBOX = 'X'
    style='mso-tab-count:2'>                                    COMMIT_WORK = 'X' "used from rel.6.10
                            TABLES
    mso-bidi-font-size: style='mso-tab-count:2'>                                    receivers = t_reclist
    class="style1"> <![if !supportEmptyParas]>   <![endif]>
<![if !supportEmptyParas]>F inally, a comment from Thomas Jung,
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> “when defining my work area for an internal table I like to use the like line of statement. That way if I change the structure of my table type, I know that my work area will still be OK. Second, your types and table types don't have to just be declared in your code. You can create a table type in the data dictionary and use it across multiple programs(also great for method and function parameters). I really push hard for the other developers at my company to use the Data Dictionary Types more and more.”
    Hope this helps, Do reward.

. Multiple receipts for one order or one receipt for multiple orders, or against verbal ordersIn case there is a need to add other costs (say coolie and cartage) these additional charges can be apportioned to the cost of goods purchased.
Supplied goods may not match your needs and these are managed by the 'Rejections Out' inventory voucher. Supplier dues, input taxes and inventory positions are updated.
Suppliers often indicate likely profits, which may not be met. In case such assurances are made, you can look at Item profitability reports, and get the facts right. You could then negotiate a rebate and record this as a debit note.
Keep tabs of how much is due to whom, when. Manage advances, payables & post dated checks. Ensure there are no errors in payments - print checks from Tally.ERP 9.
Sales & Receivables: from Order to Receipt
The lifeline of a business, efficiencies in sales operations, both of goods & services, directly impact growth and profitability. The need to optimise and keep a close watch here requires exceptional capabilities from your business IT system - and Tally.ERP 9 meets these demands.
The sales process is supported with the following documents:
. Quotations - records of quotes
. Sales orders - accepted customer orders
. Deliver Notes - documents that accompany goods
. Sales Invoices/Cash Bill - to record the sale
. Credit Notes - for financial adjustments
. Rejections in - for goods returns
. Receipts - for advances and receipts
Do you have cash sales (sales across the counter)? With support for Point of Sale printers, bar codes and receipts in multiple tenders, you POS enable your business at no additional cost. Product sales may come with added services - and the integrated product & service billing will close this.
Enforce credit limits, where needed. Along with the Payment Performance of Debtors report you can identify persistent problems and take necessary business decisions. Interest for delays & reminder letters aid in collection.
For businesses engaged in Excisable goods, you get full support for Excise for Traders & Manufacturing Excise - matter of fact a business could be both!
Make multiple deliveries from one order, or one from multiple orders - this common need is available across all documents of the sales process.
Do you have multiple classes of customers? You can easily setup multiple prices (even in advance and specify the date from which they are effective).
Discounts against the line, or for the document, additional charges as a percentage or lump sum, automatic round off of bill totals, automatic computation of VAT & Service tax, returns & exchanges are all available.Need to verify that you are making the desired sales margins? Item wise and bill wise profitability reports will help you keep tabs.
    Multi-company
Security: With multiple companies, possibly including personal accounts, you may need to control who gets access to which companies, and to do what. You can set up users, grant or deny access - and these are defined for each company.
Remote Access: You choose to specify which company is accessible remotely. You choose which remote users have access; you decide what access a remote user gets.
Central User Management: Users come and go. You might also have a password policy requiring users to change passwords every few weeks. You can take advantage of the ease of central user and password management that Tally.NET identities carry - and even remotely manage these while not in office.

    What is Series B
This Series will deliver major enhancements both in entirely new areas of functionality as well as in technology capabilities.
    Technology & Capability Enhancements
    Multi-session
Support for multiple application windows, which can even be launched by clicking on a mail link or a 'shortcut., Each of these are simultaneous 'windows' into different areas of your business processes & reports. Dynamic data refresh and the display of different views when resizing - for e.g. smaller windows displaying a more consolidated view of data, will improve organizational management and productivity.
    Multi-threaded
A 'thread' is a specific task that is being performed by the microprocessor. Enhanced capabilities will be enabled such that each application window can perform more tasks simultaneously instead of linearly, including processing messages from the server. Multi-core processors, even on the desktop, are now common. We will take full advantage of these as well.
Multi Stack Architecture for Scale-up & Scale-down Deployments
To deliver the capabilities described above, and the ones that follow, Tally.ERP 9 will become 'componentised' - consisting of several layers of programs - often referred to as 'n-tier architecture'.
These software components are horizontally scalable, meaning that you can add one more computer to increase the computing power needed for a layer. In the same way, you can remove systems as needed, or collapse them into a single system - all of them even on a notebook, if required.
High Transaction Capacity with Low Latency & Management
Let us say that you start generating a report that needs to be extracted from a few thousand vouchers. This process is run in a 'session', which is isolated from all other users. Even if other users delete or modify any of the vouchers needed for the report while the report is being compiled, there is no impact on this session and you will get to see the report as if these other users did not exist.
In the same way, the user performing the edit will also be isolated. After the edit, he can open the voucher and see it with the changes he made, perhaps even delete it.
The architecture described above will in itself deliver substantial performance and transaction handling capacity. To push performance further in those cases when the storage media (typically the hard disk) is busy with other operations, additional capabilities will store these transactions 'temporarily' in a 'Q' for later write, while the user is free to continue his work (these transactions are protected against power failures and so on).
Payment Engine for Debit & Credit Cards
The facility for online payments using a variety of payment mechanisms (NEFT, online banking, credit cards), as well as receive payments (Debit / Credit Cards, NEFT etc) will be available.
    Functional Enhancements
    Online Banking and Reconciliation
Collaborating with Banks who wish to facilitate their customers with this capability, we will provide Online Banking - including Payment Instructions, Standing Instructions, DD, NEFT,RTGS Transfers, Balance Queries, Instruction Status, Automated or Semi-Automated Bank Reconciliation.
    Point-of-Sale for most Retail Environments
Series B will support dedicated POS terminals, with Credit/Debit Card, Discount Coupons and various other payment mixes, Loyalty support, schemes, multi-layered supervisory control, simultaneous keyboard and scanner controls, integrated or isolated printing of bill and credit card authorisation slips, item substitution, rate markup/markdowns, integration with measuring devices - such as weighing scales, bill suspension and retrieval, bill reversals and cancellations, etc. It can also be used for other store operations (receipting, inventory management etc), and general business operations (finance and accounts) - both on the same machine or separate machines.
    Income Tax
Comprehensive IT coverage encompassing corporate & individual income tax, including typical payroll requirements and e-Returns will be available.
    EXIM Documentation
Import & export documentation has become a growing need with the world economy becoming more open. This requirement will be supported, additionally covering the processes that need to be managed along with the documentation.
    Job Costing
The enhanced Job Costing functionality will support most job costing needs to a level of granularity that is increasingly needed. We expect that you will be able to handle most, if not all, project accounting needs as well.
    Fixed Assets
To take advantage of tax breaks as well as to manage organizational assets, this feature will support all requirements - from opening assets, adding, removing, amalgamating, grouping, vendor tagging, AMC's, servicing, service calendars, repairs and upkeep, refurbishing, breaking-down, depreciating and disposal for complete fixed asset management.

  • The difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers

Does anyone know what is the difference between chapter markers and dvd studio pro markers? I can not find anywhere on Google. Also in the tutorials I have seen, suggesting DVD Studio Pro markers, but it did not mention the chapter markers.
    Thanks,

"Adding Chapter and Compression Markers to Your Sequence
Once you have your edited sequence or program finished, you can add markers to the sequence for use on DVD. Markers are reference points you can place within clips or sequences that identify specific frames. There are two kinds of markers you can add that directly relate to authoring a DVD—chapter markers and compression markers.
    • Chapter markers allow DVD authoring applications to create a navigable chapter list for your exported QuickTime movie. Chapter markers force MPEG keyframes (known as I-frames) at their location, since the DVD specification requires an I-frame at each chapter point.
    • Compression markers identify areas of abrupt change and include two types: those that are automatically inserted by Final Cut Pro at all edit points, and those you manually place in the clip or sequence. Like chapter markers, compression markers force I-frames at their location, although in this case it is for better quality encoding, and they are not used to create a chapter list.
Note: When you export a QuickTime movie, you have an option to export various kinds of markers, including compression, chapter, or DVD Studio Pro markers. *When you choose to export DVD Studio Pro markers, Final Cut Pro actually exports chapter markers and all compression markers.* This includes compression markers you set manually, as well as ones created automatically by Final Cut Pro at edit and transition points."
