Caution getting your iPhone replaced, make sure it's new

I have been plagued over the last few days with the dreaded "No SIM" error only to find out that I was deliberately put into this situation by a Genius Bar employee. Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent to Steve Jobs.
I was very disappointed with the customer service I recently received from the Green Hills, Nashville, TN Apple store.
My first iPhone 4 had a dust particle under the screen and so I went to the Apple store for replacement. The gentlemen at the Genius bar took a unit that was already open from the back room and gave it to me as a replacement. As I had it in my hands, I noticed that it had e-mail already on it, and an unread text message. I pointed this out and he said that it must have been out for a customer to look at a sample unit. He wiped the data and gave the unit back to me.
Since then I have been plagued with the "No SIM" errors that many people are experiencing and I spent 3-4 days of my time trying to troubleshoot the issue and finally making another appointment with the Green Hills Genius bar.
The second person I worked with was very helpful. I explained the issue and he checked the system. The unit I was initially given was already flagged as a defective unit that should have been sent back to Apple.
My concern is this individual may continue to service future customers in this same manner and damage Apple's reputation. You can check the service log for my phone number (XXX) XXX XXXX and you can see that my unit was replaced with a defective unit
I feel this was intentionally done as the unit was taken from the back room and not from the locked area my phone today came from. Additionally, the first phone had someone else's e-mail and text messages on it.

Is this a company email account?  If so you may need to talk their technical support, as there may be additional layers of security which are preventing a connection.
