CB21AG and a Wyse Client Bridge v90 Running Windows XPe

Has anyone successfully installed the driver and ADU on a Wyse v90 running Windows XPe?
When I attempt to install the Cisco software for the wireless NIC we are using onto a Wyse V90 running Windows XP embedded, I get the following message. This file does not exist on the disk from Cisco. I did find a copy of it in c:\Windows\System32 but I think that is the one that will be overwritten during install. If I point to the existing file, the install completes but the software does not work. I am able to config using Windows but when I try to turn control over to the Cisco software I cannot configure anything, all options are grayed out and it tells me my hardware is not installed properly.

As per the case notes, it seems that wireless card is not working in Windows XPe.
Here's the deal with XP Embedded. It is based upon real Windows XP; however the manufacturers are free to use only subsets of real XP if they want to, so in some cases, particular manufacturers have been known to leave out XP features that are necessary for the CB21AG/PI21AG to function properly.
Since we can't keep track of which manufacturers' XP Embedded implementations will work or won't, we state that XP Embedded is not supported with CB21AG/PI21AG.
What I would recommend for a PI21AG deployment in an XP Embedded environment is this. First, verify that CB21AG works as desired when installed in real XP (SP2 is recommended.) Then, you can install CB21AG the XP Embedded client and see if it works. If you are having problems installing it or getting it to work in XP Embedded while it works fine with real XP SP2, then they should bring up the problem with the equipment manufacturer, and this is case you will need get the manufacturer to make it work or qualify this card as being a card that they officially support on their particular XP Embedded implementation.
Since this is not supported, we as TAC can not troubleshoot or provide additional help directly to this issue, that got a be a a functionality for this Windows XP Embedded that is missing, or not implemented, as the
real XP do.
If you got to replicate this issue on Windows XP SP2, I will definitively provide you our full support for this issue!

Once you have signed up, you could - in theory - choose "other version" under the icon on the CC website and install CS6, but I'm not sure if that works for this special offer or only for "full" CC. Anyway, it seems simple enough to upgrade to Win 7 or Win 8 and perhaps you were planning on starting fresh, anyway...

Managed to get my ipod restored to factory settings (yay!) However then it was being recognised in windows but not in itunes.......to solve this I referred back to Apples excellent troubleshooting guide. Installed the lastest version of itunes.....and there we go! We have a working ipod! I am so delighted and no longer on the verge of tears! (I so thought I had completely banjaxed my brand new ipod!)

Suggestions on a wireless client bridge unit running MIMO 5ghz

I have replaced my main router WRT300N running dd-wrt with the a stock E4200 and an old WRT54G aslo running dd-wrt configured for wireless client bridge. Now that I'm learning more about 802.11N, I was wondering what client can I use to achieve 5ghz simultaneously radio transmission since my current setup cannot do this in the 5ghz band. Can the E3000 be ran in wireless client bridge mode, if not what product can provide this? On the other thought am I understanding MIMO?

There are various router models available which works on 5GHz frequency (E300, E3200 etc.). However, its not sure whether the third party firmware (dd-wrt) would be compatible with it or not?
Secondly, warranty of your product becomes void if you update any third party firmware on your product. Anything goes wrong with the product, it is not eligible for the replacement.

My profiles and bookmarks keep vanishing, I am running windows 7.

Have you verified that your Windows 8.1 is a Pro or Enterprise edition? The Basic edition cannot join a domain.

SCCM 2012 and old Wyse clients

Hi,
I'm fairly new to SCCM and I have taken over a network where they have deployed Wyse terminals using an image that has the Wyse System Center 2007 client installed. However, WEDM was never deployed to managed those clients.
I have setup a 2012 SP1 (CU3) CAS and DP and have successfully pushed out the 2012 client to desktops. Unfortunately,, I can't seem to either get the 2007 terminals to register with this MP, or deploy the 2012 client to the terminal clients.
Does anyone have any advice about how to do this? - Or should I get each terminal (in the hundreds) re-imaged?

Perhaps I can create a shutdown script that disables the write filters and then restarts the machine. - Then have a startup script that uninstalls the old client?
Then I could run a batch script that restarts all of the terminals. - Followed by installing the 2012 client via the ConfigMgr.
Lastly, I could push out a task sequence that updates the clients to CU3 and enables write filters. Although, it seems VERY crude doing it this way!
I think you'll need to do something very like this, since you need to tackle the write filters for any changes to be persistent (unless there are WF exceptions for the necessary bits to allow persistence).
It's been an awfully long time since I played with Wyse WinTerms, and much has surely changed.
There used to be a heap of good information on the Wyse website, back in the day?

Blue Screen of Death and USB malfunctions on HP Envy running Windows 7

Hello.
I have an HP Envy 14 notebook PC. It's running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, version 6.1.7601. When I run it, I eventually starts getting an error message from the right of the desktop toolbar telling me that a USB device I plugged in is malfunctioning and did not get installed correctly. This is happening while my USB ports are empty.
As this is happening, the computer also starts playing background static that you can hear over headphones as well. This sound goes away once you mute the machine. After plugging the computer into a monitor to play sound through its speakers, there is also a curious effect; after I remove all the cords and plug in earphones, I hear amplified booming sounds from small movements, rather than what is meant to be playing. This latter effect goes away once I restart the computer,
Eventually, the computer displays a blue screen and crashes. The blue screen asks me to disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing. Once the machine restarts, it informs gives me the following report:

I have the same issue you have had. This happend to my old hp, I thought it was a fluke so when I bought my new hp envy a year ago I was dumbfounded to see that its happening all over again. This time my hp envy 14 is doing the same thing yours did with the same code and all. Can you please tell me what you did to fix this or were you even able to fix it at all?

I just updated to the newest Firefox 9.0.1 and now I get pop up ads as a new tab that takes over my web session. Firefox also crashes my whole computer and restarts it. I am running Windows XP Pro.

Pop Ad tabs include ad, when I close it asks if I'm sure I want to leave the page. I say yes and then there is another survey ad that says I may have won something. This whole process requires at least 4 denials before I can get the page to close.
Periodically my computer will freeze and restart when I am using Firefox.

I have Photoshop CC 2014 on my Mac and cannot find Mini-bridge under file, window or in the online add-ons.

Was Mini-Bridge discontinued in Photoshop CC2014? It is not under the file or Window menus. I cannot find it under add-ons on line. I have a Mac, is that why I'm not seeing it? Any help would be very useful.

Installing iTunes and QuickTime on an HP laptop running Windows 7.

I get error 2738 when:
installing todays downloads or when
uninstalling a preinstalled 2009 version of QuickTime.
I have seen and successfully applied the solution offerred at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1331.
Twice.
Restarted the computer and applied that solution again, and again with the message indicating success.
And each time get the error 2738 message.

I also looked through the earlier messages and saw something about
a logon as a simple user.
Did this and then noticed the uninstaller in QuickTime folder.
Used this and QuickTime uninstalled without error (2738 or anything else).
Continued to be logged on as this simple user.
Ran the iTunes installer (answering yes to security questions).
Installed both iTunes and QuickTime without error.
