CBS activation of webdynpro DC failing

Hi Experts,
I have one DC having 5 webdynpro components. I have deleted one component which was not needed. After deleting the component none of my Activities from NWDS getting activated. The build log says about the deleted component window/application and startup plugs, sometimes but the errors are quite incinsistent. Please help.
In DTR, i have checked in the Active Dcs and found the deleted component's application (.wdapplication file extension) which should not be there and it is perfectly alright in the Inactive Dcs section (deleted application file is removed).
Please suggest
Regards
Arindam

Hi Arindam,
The .wdApplication file for the deleted compenent will be there in Active dc's because you have not activated your activities successfully.
Did you use the deleted component in any of your 4 components? If it is so, the error may be because of that. Please cross check that.
Are you able to build your application locally?
Regards,
Jaya.

  • WebDynpro URL failing?

    Hi,
I'm working on ESS/MSS implementation.  We got some workflows tasks that are sitting in UWL task list when employee submitted leave request.  Manager need to approve it.
As a manager role, when I click on LeaveReqeust task from UWL inbox, portal tries to open the leave request in WebDynpro but fails with error saying no service is available.  The new opened window has this message
    Service cannot be reached
    What has happened?
URL http://<hostname>:8010/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/ess~lea/LeaveRequestApprover call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
The interesting thing is, the URL hostname it's using is not the portal hostname that is configured in SAP_WebDynpro_XSS system object WebAS connection details.  If I grab the above url and change the hostname and port to my portal hostname and port 50000, paste in new IE browser it works successfully (Leave request is opening).
Where is this hostname and port number in the above URL coming from?  My SAP_WebDynpro_XSS system object connection test are failing with following message.
The Web AS ping service http://<Portal hostname>:50000/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the Web AS, you can try to call the ping service manually.
An HTTP/S connection to http://<Portal hostname>:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/ was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.
    Thanks
    Praveen

I resolved this issue, it's got to do with UWL configuration.  Please refer to this thread for resolution
    Leave request fails to open?
I still have SAP_WebDynPro_XSS system object connection tests are failing.  Shall post back if there is any other issue due to this.
    Thanks
    Praveen.

  • Extending TaskOutput for a Human Activity with WebDynpro UI

    Dear Experts,
For my process I need to change some data object values in my context using WebDynpro UI. For that I would typically use a Human Activit with WebDynpro and some output mappings on
    TaskOutput->UIResponse->MyTaskCompleteEvent->xxx.
But in my case I don't want to close the task. I want to use a different Event for the mapping without completing the task. Something like:
    TaskOutput->UIResponse->MyTaskChangeContextEvent->xxx
But I couldn't find a way to extend the TaskOutput and UIResponse to be able to use other custom events for output mapping.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Koray
Edited by: korayyersel on Aug 19, 2011 9:49 AM

Ok, you can not update the BPM context without completing the task. You can have temporary data store in CAF (with default data source or external data source) and you can store/retrieve the data temporarily using JPA (Java Persistence API).
You can refer the below link for more details: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/47/d67d5357a34ac5e10000000a42189d/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/4a/9e7b9845816c3de10000000a42189c/content.htm
So you can call EJB/Web Service from WD task to save the changes and when user reopens the task you can retrieve the data from DB and show to it to the user.

  • Activation of BEx History failed during SPRO setting

    Hi,
I was getting error message saying that "Activation of BEx History failed".While configuration setting in SPRO
After upgrade system from BW 3.x to BI 7.0
I was getting the error message during setting in SPRO
Please some one would provide me answer.

The error is due to authorization.
You must ask your BASIS guy to open up the server to allow changes.
Once the BASIS did that, just rerun the TCode and it will works correctly.
    Hope it helps.

  • Thinkpad L430 Error Msg: 2000 thinkvantage active protection sensor diagnostics failed

One morning after I shutdown my laptop to leave for work and start it up again on the train. It gave me the: 2000 thinkvantage active protection sensor diagnostics failed. Everything is working fine. Is there a fix for this?
Edit: I realised this is in the wrong section. Can someone help me move this please? Thank you.

No, it happened for the rest of the day, even when I turned on the computer at work on my desk.
I restarted the laptop numerous times and it still gave me that message with the couple of loud beeps.
I believe it is fixed now, though I believe there is 75% chance I have found the reason. I just tried restarting it twice and I wasn't getting the message anymore.
I recall that the previous night, my laptop attempted to update my MS Office 365 but for some reason that update failed. I turned my laptop off and it wasn't when I was on the train the next day that I got the 2000 error message. I used my laptop as usual, nothing but MS office programs. Later that night I did a system restore, but that didn't fix the program, however my office update succeeded. As I cannot think of any other factors, I believe this could have been the reason.

    Why the error occurred ?
What is the resolution to this error ?
    Appreciate any help. Thanks.

This error message is telling you that SGD failed to find any site objects in your AD tree. This should not stop users from logging in, it will just mean that SGD will not be able to work out which AD site is local to the SGD server.
If you are not using sites in your AD setup, then you do not need to worry about this.
    Hope this helps,

  • CBS Activation Build Failed

    Hi.
I have a situation like this.
I have checked in my code in the DTR, by creating activity, and activate it. Like this I have created 3 activities.
Now I found that all my activities status were in RED instead of GREEN. and the changes were not reflecting in my
development portal (As I know twice a day my portal gets deployed with the new changes).
When I try to check the Activation Log, I found the error message as "Activation FAILED due to build problems".
I traced the error and rectified it and made changes in the code, checked in and activated. The status changed to be
    GREEN.
The problem is my latest activity gets updated and all 4 predecessor activity were still in red and my changes w.r.to
those predecessor activity does'nt get updated in the portal.
How should I make those predecessor activity to get activated?
    Regards
    Bala

    Hi Bala,
if you activate something and that fails and you correct the problem and activate the correction it should include the predecessor activities.
Are you maybe looking at old activation requests? I've never seen green/red lights associated with an activity as such, only with build requests. And sure, the old activations (that didn't include the fix) were red and still are - a new activation does not change history. But the content of the old activity should automatically be activated as predecessor of your correction.
You can check either in DTR WebUI if your sources were integrated from inactive to active or you can check in the CBS WebUI which activities are "pending". There's also a view in the IDE were you can checked closed activities.
    Regards,
    Marc

    Regards,
    Nagarajan

    Hi,
first please take a look at the note:
    http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/133013
As long as you don't have any 'real' issue you can ignore this error message.
If this is not the case, then try to proceed this way:
    1. delete the buildspaces dev and cons (you can do it in the Buildspace view of the CBS webui)
    2. resave the track ,this will recreate the buildspaces. (you do it in the landscape configurator of CMS -- track data tab)
    3. Restore system state (you find a button for it on the development and consolidation tabs in the transport studio of CMS webui)
    4. reimport the software into development and consolidation (transport studio -- development/consolidation tab).
Until the buildspaces are deleted, your developers won't be able to activate and build. Do not forget to reimport the software back to the buildspaces dev and cons before your developers are continuing their work. Your sources won't get lost as they are stored in DTR.
    Best Regards,
    Ervin

  • Activating Web Dynpro DC fails

    Hi Experts,
I try to activate my activities. But they fail with an error message. In the error message there is printed that the component and the startup plug is missing. But that's not true. They exist and when i deploy the application to a portal directly the application works. What could be wrong?
    Here the build log:

    Regards Manuel

    Hi Manuel,
that red flash is visible on a WebDynpro application in a WD specific view, right? I'm not a WebDynpro expert but I would assume that it indicates an issue with the application - probably the same thing that is reported by the central build.
Do you get the same error message in a local DC build in your NWDS?
(BTW: The "folder ... exists but is empty" is usually not relevant. The folders mentioned in the log may be empty as they are only used for special purposes. If they are defined in the DC Metadata CBS will create empty folders in the filesystem and the build plugin simply checks this. If the folders do exists in your local NWDS and contain files then there's something wrong, otherwise it should be safe to ignore the message.)
From your description I would assume that something is really wrong with your WebDynpro application, maybe you accidentally deleted the component? (Maybe the WD forum is better suited for such questions?)
    Regards,
    Marc

Did you import the dependent build plugins for the track in question?

Deployment exception : Got problems during deployment

    Hi
It seems to be some problem with your application start up. The component is deployed in the server, but however its not able to start automatically.
Do you have a cluster setup on the server, like a central instance and dialogue instance kind of set up. If yes, pl ensure that the application is started from the central and (also check with the dialogue servers also).
Better delete the application /component from all the nodes and you must deploy to the central /main instance server.
For you to run the current deployed applciation, navigate to the appropriate server node and to the application and start it manually ( a simple tick) will start it.
    Hope this helps
    thanks
