WHAT THE HECK IS IN THIS "UPDATE" (misnomer, really)?
It has no description and this forum post is the closest thing to an explanation of it that I could find...
I had no software updates as of yesterday morning. Then, yesterday, I installed HP's total junk driver for my PSC 2210, then tried to do the update hack from 7.9 to 9.whatever and it also failed to get the scanning function working ("Open with Rosetta" also was useless), so I uninstalled both and wiped all HP entries off my iMac, and just used the Gutenprint 5.1 (5.1.3) driver I got online for it (actually, I stole HP's icon for the PSC 2210 - it's the only WORTHWHILE file in their trash software) and added the APPrinterIconPath entry myself:

...and then re-GZIP'd the file and put it back (saving the original).
It's been printing fine for the last 24 hours (but it's otherwise the LAST HP paperweight I'll EVER buy again!).
Now, a day later, this bizarre update comes and does seemingly NOTHING!
I checked my drivers in /usr/share/cups/model/gutenprint/5.1/C/ and NOTHING has changed at all:

I can't find any package file from today in any receipts folder anywhere, and all I have is the log entry:
2008-07-05 21:57:53 -0400: Installed "HP Printer Drivers Update" (1.0)
APPLE? How about some real info. here?!

Leopard's search feature is AWFUL. It can't find anything of legit importance, so I wind-up using find and grep in the Terminal.

The mouse right-click (to copy-paste) menu does not work correctly.
The mouse right-click copy-paste menu often fails in Firefox 4. If I highlight something to copy and then use the mouse to right-click on it, the menu will appear down and to the right. Second, the highlighted command (i.e. copy, paste, etc) will be two steps beneath the mouse pointer. Third, if one chooses "copy" for example, your highlighted text might or might not (usually Not) be copied. This works as expected (perfectly) on this Firefox site, but fails on all other web pages. Note: This is a "company computer" where I am not an administrator.
I am the admin on my PC, and I am not able to select the copy page after I have highlighted an area. I can if a link select copy link, but in short no more copy paste feature on this new Firefox.

My mouse can not click to anything left, right or the middle mouse button does not work
I am using a 24 inch imac and the problem is suddenly my mouse can not click to anything left, right or the middle mouse button does not work i can see cursor moving and i can use the features of the keyboard but my mouse dies. I tried to plug in another mouse magic trackpad and my tablet but each has the same problem. I can not click to anything but cursor is moving and computer is not frozen. I have to shut it off from the power button when this happens. Do you have any idea what can cause this and how can i fix this?
Reset the SMC 2-3 times. Click Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets for instructions.

If you are on adobe cloud, download indesign that support hebrew from CC desktop. Click on the preference gear on the top right then select App language. -
After upgrading my Macbook to Yosemite, the volume icon at the top right is greyed out and sound does not work.
Interesting bug. I'm cautiously optimistic this will get rid of the weekly annoyance. The difference is that I bought my laptop back in Feb 2015, so it came with Yosemite. I think the issue may have appeared soon after an OS update not long after I got the thing, though. I was using a sudo command in the Terminal, but that is obviously not a fix.
I wonder if there is a broken .plist file that may be fixed ...? -
When I attempt to update apps on my ipad my password does not work, even when I attempt to update each app separately. When I change the password it works on my PC but not on my ipad. Why?
Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

IPOD model A1059 appears frozen and is unresponsive to all click wheel entries. Reset does not work. Does not show up in ITunes or in Windows Explorer. What is the problem and is there a fix?
If you are unable to reset the iPod (assuming the hold switch is not in the On position either), then you'll have to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then connect it to a charger and leave it to charge for a couple of hours.

Did you ever get a solution to your problem? Because I am having the same problem. I was actually in the middle of using Word when the keyboard stopped working. But it works in other apps, including in Excel.
Thing is that my laptop just got back from Apple for repairs and they replaced everything but the display - including the hard drive.
So not only do I have plenty of hard drive space, but it should be virus and error free otherwise.
I have only installed a few programs and redownloaded some of my files from places like Dropbox, but otherwise is essentially a new system.
Oh - and it came with Yosemite, so I did not upgrade to Yosemite and still Word doesn't work.
I've always had trouble getting Word to play nice with my Mac but that was also with the old, full hard drive.
This is a fresh install. And since I lost all my files, I only had like 1 old file I have downloaded from email and accessed and was in the process of
creating a new file when it crashed. I got no error, the keyboard just stopped working (to type). I also cannot even get Word > Preferences to even open,
so it is completely unresponsive.
I did a Google search and under the Microsoft communities two suggestions to that person were that there may be multiple copies installed -
I have only the one - and that one is in the wrong place - again, I only have the one and it installed to the Hard drive (visible in Launchpad / Apps).
Another suggestion was that there was some problem with the updates. I ran updates and they installed fine. That helper suggested that the user
may have had different updates that worked for the other Office apps (Excel, PPT etc.) but not Word and that was at least part, if not all of his problem,
but all my Office apps show the same update version 12.3.6, so that cannot be the issue with me.
I've not yet tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but as I got no errors on the original install or updates, I'm not sure if that would fix it.
I've found that Mac just doesn't play nice with some programs at all.
And even though I have a factory installed version of Yosemite on a new, fresh hard drive, even when I booted up, my iPhoto app (which is empty) crashed. I am not sure if my iPhone or iPad was charging at the time, but I don't think so. iPhoto that I still have not even used has crashed several more times since, most notably when plugging in my iPhone / iPad to charge, namely when I declined to upload photos (by default) to DropBox. That may not be related at all, but thus far seems the only other problem I have encountered until this Word problem.
I'm on a MacBook Pro, Sept. 2009, running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 factory installed from Apple repairs running Office: 2008 for Mac (Home and Student edition).
Please advise if you found a resolution and what it was.

In the middle of the updating, iTV was unplugged. Now it does not work at all. Do you have experience, what to do now?
Ouch. I am afriad the news is not good. If there is no longer a working firmware instance on ATV there is nothing you can do. That's why it has that message about not unplugging it during the update.

10.4, How to stop plug-ins update reminder, Windows fix does not work on Mac.
Need to get rid of bar across top saying plug-ins are not up-to-date. The "fix" posted for Windows does not work on my Mac. When I try for updates, none seem to install. How do I really find out if the ones I have are the latest available for my system? Everything seems to work OK as is. Could it be that my Mac is PPC and that there are plug-in updates that would work in 10.4 on Intel but not on PPC, and that FireFox cannot differentiate?

When I update my iPhone 4S to iOS six Facebook does not work properly the newsfeed doesn't load properly and I can never see what's going on all I see is a picture of an antenna and a little thing underneath it says no new stories when I reset my phone back to iOS 5 then it works just fine and I don't have any issues so there must be something wrong with iOS six that isn't letting Facebook load properly
No I did not use any unauthorized methods for anything, I simply reset my phone back to factory.

Does updating the 4th generation iPod touch with iOS6 keep it from working with a Logitech docking station/boombox? Nothing is wrong with the boombox.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

If it still does not work that means that the update broke compatibility. That happens sometimes. You will have to wait for an update to either iPod's iOS or the dock's firmware. -
Right click "Open Link in New Tab" not working?
When at any website I try to right click on a link and then choose "open link in new tab" and nothing happens. "open link in new window" also does nothing. When first open up Firefox and right click on a link a really long list of options appears as well which did not appear yesterday. I think Firefox updated and restarted my computer last night as well. I tried Firefox safe mode and it still happened.

Right click a weblink in an email not working in Mavericks Mail
Since upgrading to Mavericks, I used to right-click a weblink in an email to 'add to reading list'.
This worked every time and it would add to the reading list, and I could later visit Safari and go from there.
Since the upgrade, when I click I don't get this, I have to hold down the control key to get the 'add to reading list' contextual menu, however this differs from email to email, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
Anybody else getting this and have a possible solution?
