CC 2014 Option Bar Problem

The option bar is getting cut off and is halfway hidden under the "File, Edit" menu at the top.
It's also offset slightly to the left and I can't move it either.
Any clues as to how to get it back to the normal position?
Thanks

That reads like you have undocked the option bar. On the right side of it you should see a pull-down menu for workspaces. Try resetting the one the is currently in use using the pulldown menu option

  • Photoshop CC 2014: how to dock the floating Options bar?

    hi Photoshoppers,
Anyone know how to dock the Options bar in PS CC 2014? When I open it for the first time, it floats. I tried looking this up online and can't find a solution. I figure it can't be rocket science.
    kind regards,

Ok, let's go for a Preferences Reset.
Windows - CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
Macintosh - CMD-SHIFT-OPTION immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
Wait for the "Delete Photoshop Settings" dialog, release the keys and click "Yes"

  • Can't move one anchorpoint to another anchorpoint accurately anymore in Illustrator CC 2014. No problems in former versions. Any idea?

When I want to put an anchorpoint of one object on top of an anchorpoint of another object it jumps off the position I would like to put it. Other versions never had this issue! I need to work very accurately for my designs! Illustrator CC 2014 has this problem.
Snap to grid, smart guides, etc putting on or off, doesn't help...........
I pay monthly quite an amount of money for Illustrator. I don't want to waiste any working time on solving problems occuring after updating. I have no need of new features "to fluff up Illustrator" , I need an efficient programm to work with!
Sorry for being so annoyed, but las Friday I chatted with Illustrator helpdesk, which also cost me a few hours of my working time! I need to work...not to keep spending time on tutorials, solving new problems and finding things out! That is not what I pay for...sorry Adobe!

    jolieu,
In cases like this, the first guess is Align to Pixel Grid.
You may select everything and then untick Align to Pixel Grid in the Transform pallete, and also untick Align New Objects to Pixel Grid in the flyout options.
You may avoid document types with that as default (RGB for web and the like) or change the default for such documents.

  • "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014" option in Lightroom 5.5 - Photo doesn't open in CC2014

When i use the "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014" option in Lightroom 5.5, Photoshop CC2014 will open, but the photo I want to edit in Photoshop, doesn't load up. To edit a photo in CC14 I have had to set up an Export option that saves the photo as a tiff and then opens in CC2014. Is there a setting I have missed to enable the transfer using "Edit in..."
    Thanks
    Andrew

I started having this problem after I uninstalled Photoshop CC.  I even tried not removing its preferences while uninstalling, but I still ended up with the same problem.  The only solution I can find is to reinstall Photoshop CC.  Only then will Photoshop CC 2014 open a photo from Lightroom 5.5.  I also notice that with DNGs, I no longer am presented with an option to "edit original," "edit with Lightroom changes," etc.  It just opens the DNG with LR changes.  When opening a PSD, however, I do see this prompt.  When installing the upgrades, Adobe said we could uninstall Photoshop CC and continue using Photoshop CC 2014 once we were comfortable with Photoshop CC 2014.  Apparently that's not the case when using Lightroom's "edit in" feature.  I'm really disappointed that I have to keep unused applications installed just to make another application work semi-properly.  :-(

  • Photoshop CS6 Options Bar Issue - OSX

    Hello,
I am using Photoshop cs6 on my Mac and I hm having trouble with the options bar in the way. When I open two or more windows within Photoshop the options bar is covering up the X's that allows me to close them out and the tabs themselves. I have attached an image to show the problem. I have tried to move the option bar, but it seems that Photoshop wont allow me to do this. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue or knows how to fix it.
    Thanks,
    Han

It looks like the tool options bar isn't docked below the menu bar.
You should be able to drag the tool opions bar by the tab on the left side up until you see a blue line and let go to dock the tool options bar.
below is from a windows machine, but as far as i know it should work on a mac as well.

  • Q. I've lost my Menu and Options Bars in PSE 8 Oganiser

Before Barbara B sorted out my earlier problem (thanks Barb) many hours were spent pushing buttons and clicking boxes. The result is I've lost the Menu and Options Bars in PSE 8 Oganiser running on Windows7 v 6.1. The Editor is OK.
HELP!!!   How do I get them back please?
    Thank you.

Barbara, you have done it again. Many thanks.
For info: amendment to the first option: "On Windows7, do Start>Control Panel>Apperances and Personalization >Display and select 100%"
    Thanks again.

  • Patch Tool option bar - missing word "Mode"

The new Content Aware Move tool has the word Mode next to its drop down box on the options bar. The Patch tool has the word Patch next to its drop down. For consistency the word Patch on the patch tool options bar should be replaced with Mode. Ideally instead of Mode, they both could display the name of the tool, but I expect Content Aware Move takes up too much real estate.

  • Disappearing checkmark in Options bar

I just installed PSCS5 on my HP laptop running Win 7 in 64 bit mode. I do digital scrapbooking and work with my photos, mainly. I'm having a problem with the check mark & no symbols in the options bar disappearing and reappearing, seemingly at will. I don't know what I'm doing, if anything, to cause this. What do you suggest?

I guess what we are looking is  this option after using certain tools. You may want to Use the "Esc" Key to undo and "Enter" to accept the changes.

  • How to I get the option bar back if my iBook is in full screen

When an iBook the option bar is there but soon disappears.  I am new to the iPad and iBooks and I cannot seem to find a consistent way to make the option bar reappear.

Thank you very much, that obviously worked and was the correct answer.  I appreciate the quick response to a basic question.  I can usually figure out these types of issues.

I have CC and while attempting Light Effects, the Light Effects Layer will appear in the layers panel, but the option bar will not appear and neither will the Properties panel. All my preferences are set correct, and my computer has a compatible video card and RAM. Please help!
I tried to delete the layer attempt again. I am in a Photoshop class, but the work is all online, so all my teacher is going to do is send me to this site. I am trying to edit a photo for this class, and without this working, i go to filter>render>light effects. the bar and panel will pop up for about 2 seconds, then disappear. How do i get the options bar and properties panel to display?

I was about to suggest resetting LE from the Workspace drop-down top right corner, but if you can't see the Options Bar, I guess that is not going to happen.  The normal Tool reset is grey out for LE, so it might be a case of resetting Preferences.
    Reset Preferences
Windows — Hold down Shift Ctrl Alt immediately after starting Photoshop
Mac — Hold down Shift Cmd Opt immediately after starting Photoshop

  • How do I change the units for the vector shape stroke in the option bar?

I work with vector shapes very often in Photoshop. In CS6, they have added the stroke and fill tools in the option bar.
If I open a file with vector shapes that was created in CS5, the stroke defaults to 3pt. I would prefer it to default to pixels instead of points. I have found that if I change the settings prior to creating a new shape, it retains those attributes for all future shapes. However, if I am working on an older file, and would like to use this tool, it is frustrating to have to change this unit every time.
Any assistance would be helpful. Thanks!

Every time I move the volume, it moves back!
Check, if you have a volume automation set on the software instrument track.
If the track volume automation curve is enabled, the volume slider for the track will move with the automation curve.
Click the automation curves disclosure triangle in the track header and disable the volume automation.

  • How do I get the options bar back for an email if I accidently delete it ?

If an email has say pictures I get an option bar appear to allow me to select 'show remote content' however if I accidently delete the bar I cannot get it back and display the remote content.

You can control the settings for remote content via
    Tools (Alt-T) - Options - Privacy - Mail Content - Exceptions

  • Document windows opening under the options bar

Argh! anyone know how to get the windows from NOT opening under the options bar? I have to zoom the window each time so I can access the document bar and it is driving me MAD!!!!See how my top gray document bar is hidden?? If I hit the zoom out then it pops under the control bars.

Probably because both the application bar and tool options bar are not docked, they are free floating in you screenshot.
For example move the application bar up towards the apple menu until you see a thin blue line and then let go and do the same for the tool options bar.

  • Where is the "Options Bar" in Essentials 11

Where is the Options Bar in Essentials 11 -  so the size of the brushes etc can be located and used?
Also, when I use the Clone Stamp, there is a hovering mask-outline over the image - how do I get rid of this
    mask?

I have no idea of what you mean by needing to click on the green button. I was assuming you meant Photoshop Elements. I'm not sure what "Adobe Essentials" is, but for sure there is a tool options button on the bottom of the Photoshop Elements 11 window, whether it is maximized or not:
There is no layer mask in the clone stamp, so I'm afraid I have no idea of what you mean there, either. Do you mean you want to turn off the overlay that shows the area you're moving? Click the Clone Overlay button and turn off this checkbox, if that's what you mean:
If you are referring to Photoshop Elements 11, there are a number of books available, including one in the Dummies series.
