CC Application Manager wont launch following failed update

The app mgr told me this morning there were an update for it so I ran it.  It ran for about a half hour with the progress bar never completing so finally I killed it and an error msg came up that unfortunately I did not save.  I got home after work and was trying to try it again and now the app mgr won't launch at all when I try to run it.  Since this is the app that updates my PS CC, Bridge, and Lightroom, it's kind of important.  I found a pdApp.log file that I am providing a dropbox link for below. Please help me resolve this ASAP.  BTW,  I have reapeatedly had problems updating the app manager but up to now I've had luck by trying it right after a clean reboot and running "as admnistrator".  However this is the first time after a failed update the application will not launch at all.  I have tried rebooting and that was not the answer this time around.

    I just used the application manager earllier today to download CS6, now it wont launch. I dont want to reinstall. The application manager is signed in as a different login, not the login I used to purchase creative cloud, but I cant sign out of the application manager.     I need to make update on my Creative Cloud but my application manager wont open. I have tried from the drop down and all I get is the spinning wheel indicating it's loading. When I try from my Doc nothing the icon bounces one then nothing happens. I am unable to access and part of CC from the drop down. So far all of my applications are working fine but I would like to make the updates before they get glitchy.

    Please try the following steps assuming its a MAC:
    1) Open Activity monitor and Force quit Adobe CEF Helper, Creative cloud, Adobe IPC Broker & Crash Deamon if available.
    2) Try to open, if doesn't work then go to Applications>> Adobe Creative cloud>> Right click>> Get Info>> Click on the Add sign>> Select the user you are logged in>> Give Read and write access.
    3) If that doesn't work then enable the root user and launch to update there, check this link on how to enable/sign in to root user Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
    Please let me know if it is Windows, I will send you the steps already.

    Do I need to uninstall in Windows and then reinstall to get it to work again?

    I'm running Windows 7.0 Home Premium 64 bit with an core i7 processor and 9 gig of ram. The application manager tries to load and stops about a third of the way through with an error message that says I have an Adobe Genuine Software Vaidation Failure. The prouct you are trying to install is not an Adobe genuine software and appears to be counterfiet. My only option then is to quit the application. This happens whenever I start the Application Manager and it tries to update itself..

    My Application Manager wont download. I get the gray bar, but nothing happens. I have to control option delete just to turn it off. I have been through support and that have elevated me. They said I would receive a call 36 hours.

    Bagwelldavid have you checked the configuration of your software firewall?  From the behavior you are describing it would appear that the Adobe Application Manager is being blocked from accessing the Internet.  You may also want to try the steps listed in Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.

  • Application Manager bounces in dock & fails to launch

    The Adobe Application Manager on my Mac OS X Lion has stopped launching. It only bounces in the dock and I get an "application not responding" error message, causing me to Force Quit the app. The Application Manger has always been a little buggy, but it has worked okay for the past several months. Now it won't launch at all. Attempts to install the Application Manager update from the Adobe site fails as well. Help please!

    Wow, okay... thank you for the suggestion. Before taking this extreme measure, I decided to quit the recently added Creative Cloud Connection dropbox app found in the preference pane and rebooted the computer. Now, the Adobe Application Manager launches just fine, including updating itself to the latest version. Very strange. I'll keep an eye on it for awhile before relaunching the Creative Cloud Connection again to see if I can recreate the problem.
    Just a theory at this point, but I think the Creative Cloud Connection icon in the taskbar may also have been the cause of recent taskbar freezes, causing me to quit/re-start SystemUIServer in Activity Monitor every few hours. Since quitting the Creative Cloud Connection app last night, I haven't had any more taskbar freezes.

  • I am trying to update to camera Raw 7.3 but Application manager keeps telling em to update

    I downloaded the update to Aplpication manager to get it to 6.2, but when I try to run the patch for ACR 7.3 it still gives an error telling me that Application manager may be damaged and I should update.  Anyone know what is causing this , what the workaround for this is?
    Just to add"  PLatform is Windows i7 8GB Ram.

    Try resetting your network settings. Are you able to access the internet on any part of the phone?
    Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

    How did you delete?
    If you did not properly UN-install, you will need to run the cleaner before you RE-install

    I am trying to figure out this problem for hours but still have not found any solution. The Java Web Start Application Manager is working on all systems (NT 4, up to date) but when I try to start one of the demos (eg "notepad app"), problems start:

    Installation of JWS 1.4.2 is not possible on the machine JWS 1.2 is not working on. Unfortunately, I can not try it.
    I do not know why the demos try to access classes in com.sun.javaws. I simply started the notepad...

    and then I tried to find a adobe application manager om Adobes download site, but I got Creative Cloud. And I can't see, what I can use this for, as I have purchased a DVD with Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11.

  • Stuck in recovery following failed update

    I've had a quick search of the forum and haven't seen my exact problem listed, apologies if it's been asked and answered.
    I've had the iPhone for about a month and regularly sync everything and back it up with itunes.
    I said yes to the iPhone update in itunes. It failed with an unknown error. Phone is stuck in what another PC says is recovery mode. My itunes now won't detect the phone. I've tried a restore with itunes on two other PCs hoping to just get the thing back as a phone so I can then maybe restore my stuff from my itunes later.
    The restores have been 40 minutes then fail x2 on one laptop and 2 hours then fail on my husbands PC. itunes is up to date. Two of the PCs have brand new downloads of itunes installed.
    What's my next move please?

    Although this happened to me on an Iphone 3g it will be the same fix for all i would have thought. The trouble when the update fails is that the driver in Windows changes, it goes from the Apple Driver to a standard USB COMPOSITE DEVICE. And this is the reason as to why you are unable to resolve the issue and probably not able to see the Iphone in Itunes. Quite an easy fix once you know how......
    The following is for WINDOWS:
    Go to Device Manager (right click on MY COMPUTER and then Click MANAGE)
    Under USB DEVICES Select USB COMPOSITE DEVICE
    RIGHT CLICK ON THIS and SELECT UPDATE DRIVER
    NEXT SELECT BROWSE FOR DRIVER (DO NOT SELECT AUTOMATICALLY)
    THEN SELECT APPLE DRIVER (THIS DIFFERS AS TO WHAT MODEL YOU HAVE ON SOME MACHINES)
    THEN DONE. YOU SHOULD SEE THE DRIVER IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY, and almost INSTANTLY ITUNES WILL DISPLAY THE IPHONE AND STATE IT IS IN RECOVERY MODE, IF IT FAILS REPEAT THESE STEPS, AS IT WORKED ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT FOR ME.
