CC applications freezing after launch

I am trying to find a solution for a long time and cannot find one. I got a new laptop in April.  CS6 would not work (AE and PSD). I spent some time in April with a person on the phone at Adobe, but to no avail. It would not launch. I figured it would be fixed in CC so I waited (my older laptop still has CS5, I could still use that.) Still no luck.  I reinstalled Mavericks (10.9.4) re-installed the Creative Cloud applications on the new computer.  Now they appear to Launch but both get locked up after it opens.  Beachball.  Have to force quit.   I don't know what else to do. The website suggested I find Arial MT and delete that font.  That is not on my computer.    Can anyone make a recommendation?  I also found this link, and that did not improve anything.    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396
Thank you.
David

Hi dliban2000,
I apologize for the inconvenience, could you provide any case # so that we can look into it and help you further?
Meanwhile,  I would suggest  to try : Troubleshoot system errors, freezes | Mac OS 10.x | Adobe software
restart the machine.
Quit time machine all the third party services/software eg. antivirus, dropbox, growl, etc.
Re-launch creative cloud.
Thanks,

  • ITunes freezes after launching

    iTunes version: 11.2.2
    OS X 10.9.3
    MacBook Pro Early 2011
Recently, iTunes has been freezing almost immediately after launching, irrespective of other applications running. The problem persists even in Safe Mode, and I have to Force Quit the application each time. Some times it runs fine for one song, but usually freezes immediately (not responding with spinning pinwheel).
What are the troubleshooting steps for this issue? Restarting my computer has not resolved the issue.

Plasma Prestige!  Success!  iPhone was recognized immediately and is syncing presently.  Thanks very much for your help!

After reading about your issue, I tried syncing my own iPhone and experienced the freeze as well. I scoured the Support Communities and finally stumbled across a solution. I am not sure if this fixes the problem permanently but it certainly fixed it for now.
    1. Open the Finder
    2. In the Menu Bar, click Go
    3. While holding the 'Option' Key, select Library
    4. Expand the Application Support folder
    5. Expand SyncServices and delete the Local sync file
    6. Restart the system
Plug in your iPhone after this and it should resolve the issue. Let me know if it works.

  • Muse freezes after launch Mac OS

I'm using Mac OS Mavericks. It worked yesterday before shut down.  Today, when I launched my Muse site, Muse freezes after the Site Map is displayed when I try to edit text on a page. I searched the forums and there was a similar problem last year, but I'm using the current version. I tried disconnecting the network, disabling Typekit, renaming the preferences folder. But, these did not work. Suggestions please. Thanks.

I think I've isolated the problem to text editing: Muse freezes when editing text. I can perform other functions, such as placing graphics, but when I try the use the text tool, Muse freezes.

  • Win7,latest update, freezes after launch

I "updated" to latest iTunes for Win7...installed OK but now freezes after loading. Have to go to Task Manager to end the session. Any workaround? The software worked well before the "update"--my mistake in downloading the new version.

I have decided that I will propably skip the 1.4-update, since I don't need podcasting and I don't buy music from ITMS. But I need an older Updater for Windows. Apple's site only offers the latest version, and it has already been demonstrated that it does not work for me (for some reason). Is there a place where I could download older versions of the updater?

  • HP Photosmart Studio freezes after launch

Does anyone else have a problem with HP Photosmart Studio freezing/not responding as soon as it is launched?
I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro running 10.5.5, though the problem has been the same since 10.5.1.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest software from the HP web site, deleted preference files, repaired permissions etc but the problem remains.
    Any help would be welcome.

I can confirm that I, too, am encountering problems with HP Photosmart Studio (version 9.6.9) that is mystifying me. I spent about 10 hours trying to figure out the problem, but I did not come up with any solution.
I have not yet explored all of the HP software features that came with my HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One, which so far seems to be a very fine machine that has delivered full functionality in printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. The one feature that does not seem to be functioning properly has to do with scanning a JPG image to the HP Photosmart Studio. Every time I've tried to do that, I get the same result: the image gets scanned OK and is deposited into a folder called "Scanner Output." That part is good. However, whenever the Photosmart Studio application is launched—either as part of the scanning process, or if I just launch it independently of triggering a scan via the HP Device Manager—the Studio application delivers a spinning sundial gauge next to the "Keywords Album" item for about 30 seconds, which is the followed by the spinning beach ball, indicating that the application is not responding. I must Force Quit it.
That is what has happened since I first installed the HP software on my PowerMac G4 running Tiger, 10.4.11. Uninstalling the HP software and reinstalling it does not fix the problem. The thing that mystifies me is that I cannot discern if the problem lies solely within the HP software or if there is something wrong with Tiger on my PowerMac G4. The reason I say that is that, in order to isolate the problem, I ran comparative tests of the same, freshly reinstalled HP Photosmart Studio on an iMac G5 running Tiger 104.11, and I did not have problem getting a stable Photosmart Studio window to appear. The same spinning sundial gauge appeared, and it spun for awhile, but it eventually disappeared and the application became functional, unlike on my G4, when the spinning beach ball appeared.
Additionally, back on my PowerMac G4, which also has partitions running Panther and Leopard, the HP Photosmart Studio application, which resides on the Tiger volume, loaded OK when I re-started the G4 under Panther and Leopard. However, I do not consider that a solution, since I could see no way that I could access images that were not on the startup drive.
I wish I could say definitively whether or not the problem lay within the HP Photosmart Studio component of the quite extensive software package that came with the All-in-One, or whether there may be something amiss, or incompatible, with the Mac OS. But all of my tests thus far do not allow me to reach any definite conclusion. As you requested, it would be nice to know from others if this software application works or not with the Mac OS. For me, I guess I am just going to have to work around that particular feature, at least on the Tiger volume on my PowerMac G4. Strange, though, isn't it?

  • Why is my podcast application freezing after upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS7 ?

My podcast application is not working on my iPhone 4, after upgrading to iOS 7. What can I do to fix the problem ? Is it possible to play my podcasts on another application ?

Found the solution : deleted the frozen screen Podcast application, restarted the iPhone, downloaded the application again, deleted all podcasts from the application (edit, and delete one by one) and synchronized with iTunes via cable. Now it works !!!
IMPORTANT : before deleting all podcasts don't try to do anything else with the newly downloaded podcast app. it will freeze !!! and you have to delete and reinstall the application again !!!

  • CC Photoshop Freezes after launch

    Hello,
I am installed Photoshop and Indesign on my MacPro with 10.7.5 (Lion) though Creative Cloud and after I installed everything and launch the apps, it freezes up my computer and I cannot force quit. I have to do hard restart.   I have used CC on this machine before but I just reformatted the drive and did a clean install of everything. I read all the forums and even tried to hold the Command +  Option + Shift keys while launching photoshop,  and nothing has worked.   I was able to install Acrobat just fine but Photoshop and Indesign are the two main programs I use.   Anyone have suggestions?
    Thank you

Have you had any luck with this? I've been experiencing the same since Creative Cloud started... happens with all creative cloud apps. I removed the creative cloud desktop app as that was the most troublesome and would often hang everything after waking from sleep. Helped a little but waking from sleep still creates the issue and I have to restart the computer. If I do get an app working and I go to update through the help menu, that app hangs. I've read in other discussions that you need to change the user (which is ******** and very time consuming) but like an idiot I did that and... surprise, suprise, same problem. Never seen adobe come back on this one.

  • Application Builder: Application closes after launcher

I'm trying to run the executable of my application that was built with the Application Builder. I am using actor framework and have a Launcher.vi that is set as the Startup VI and launches the parent actor. When I run the executable, I can see the Launcher.vi front panel open and close quickly, but the main front panel never opens. Where do I begin to debug my executable? Is there something obvious that I am forgetting to do? I have compared my application configuration to the Actor Framework example (which does produce a working executable) and can't find anything that is different.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

OK, I figured out it. I went back and looked closer at the launcher for the Actor Framework example and noticed that the Launch Actor VI block does not have "Open Actor Core front panel" set to true which I thought was strange because the front panel opens correctly for that application. I poked around in the VI properties for the example projects parent Actor Core.vi and saw that Window Appearance has a custom configuration. The options for Show front panel when called and Close afterwards if originally closed were checked in the example project but un-checked for my project. I also looked at the Execution settings and saw that the example is configured for Shared clone reentrant execution while my project is configured for Non-reentrant execution.
The Window Appearance change correctly launches my main front panel. I played with the Execution settings to see what those did and noticed that when my VI is configured for Non-reentrant execution, child actors don't seem to be getting launched. Additionally, the stop button on my front panel will close the front panel but the application is still running. Changing the mode to Shared clone launches child actors properly and completely closes the application when the stop button is pressed. I also tried Pre-allocated clone reentrancy to see what would happen; the launcher just errors out immediately saying the Call by Reference VI is not exectuable.
I guess that makes sense. Actor Framework expects that state is not maintained when an actor is destroyed, so shared clone ensures that each instance of a child actor is given its own memory pool to be cleared when the actor is stopped. http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvconcepts/reentrancy/

  • New iTunes freezing after launch, what's going on?

After downloading the new iTunes with no problem, I've discovered that after a few seconds the programme freezes from any action. It's really starting to do my head in right now. Everything was going fine, I was downloading iOS 5 when it decided to lose connection, I tried again and same thing. After that, the problem with iTunes it self occured.
After spending a whole HOUR trying to get to the point of asking this question I am seriously fed up with this. Apple has well and truely messed up any chance of trying to persuade Blackberry users that the iPod is better since the whole update is causing more problems than what it's fixing.
If anyone can help find a "cure" for this freezing, I'd be extremely grateful. Thankfully my iPod didn't get wiped during the whole problem even though it was trying to sync at the time and then black screened for five minutes before coming to life again.

  • Adobe CC won't launch, Photoshop freezes immediately after launch, help!

Hello, I would appreciate any suggestions on how to solve this issue. It started with Photoshop CC freezing, as in spinning color wheels of death immediately after launch. I have tried launching with a file, without a file, from Lightroom, independently, nothing works, but spinning wheel until I force quit.
So I tried to update, thinking it wpould help. Adobe CC won't launch at all, no error message, no force quit, just nothing happens. I tried uninstalling both, but unistall just hangs, bouncing in the dock for all eternity until I force quit. The Adobe Application Manager will not launch, and also hangs until a force quit.
The machine is a MacPro OSX 10.7.5 with 3.2 GHz Quad-Core 8GB with no other issues. I have done no updates, no new programs, apps, fonts or plugins in weeks, and the Adobe CC stuff has been working until two days ago. No other issues with the machine I have noticed, and Lightroom and PS CS6 are both working as usual. Restarts have no effect.
I have attempted to start PS CC using command-shift-option thinking the preferences might be causing an issue, but got the same hanging result. Renaming the OOBE file has not worked. Help!

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 freezes 5 seconds after launch

We have installed Acrobat pro on a windows xp machine. Acrobat seems to freeze about 5 seconds after we launch it. Someone told up to delete the autoupdater plugin folders on the PC but this didn't seem to make any difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Good Morning,
I talked with customer care this morning and they tell me that this is not an deactivation/activation issue since my application isn’t launching correctly. They gave me a meaningless document to troubleshoot launching issues with the suite. It seems that all other applications in the suite launch fine like photoshop, illustrator, etc. It is only acrobat that hangs on launch. However, I did notice that when I try to close out of the other applications like illustrator, the application will hang and I will actually get an application hang message in the event viewer.
