CC Asset management system

Hi, I'd like to know why it is, when I have nothing loaded into my Asset storage that it shows I have used 10.85 gb of my 100 gb storage limit? Thanks Lauren

The Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files and the Creative Cloud Files folder on your computer(s) are both empty.
There are items in the Archive at https://creative.adobe.com/archive. From the Archive you can Permanently Delete or Restore items.
If you move or delete items from the Creative Cloud Files folder on your computer they go into the Archive. (Think of the Trash on Mac OS X or the Recycle Bin on Windows.)

  • What 'Digital Asset Management' system do you use?

I'm researching Digital Asset Management systems that I can use to create a elegant online image and graphic download centres, branded for individual clients.
Has anyone found or created their own solution in this field? I would be interested to hear of your experiences and view online examples if available.
    Steve

    Steve,
There are literally hundreds of Digital Asset Management systems out there as numerous vendors from a wide range of backgrounds (software vendors, printers, design agencies, video producers etc) all think they have some insight that makes them uniquely qualified for this field.  This makes it a bit tricky to recommend a specific option as a lot depends on what kind of asset you're needing to manage.  You need to do an assessment of:
What kinds of assets you're most interested in
How many there are (i.e. the scale of the library)
Is it single or multi-users, do you have external suppliers who may need access
If you have IT skills in-house to install and maintain the system
If so, what technologies you prefer, if not to what extent you are comfortable with external hosting and someone else holding the assets
What you want to do with the assets: download, manipulate, integrate etc.
Who will catalogue the assets and what kind of tagging/metadata etc. you want to apply
How the assets will get on/off the system and who decides whether they should or should not
With that information, it's easier to narrow down the list of potential candidates, but you will still have quite a few other decisions to make to isolate the right product for your needs.
If you're interested in information about Digital Asset Management, check our our site: http://www.daydream.co.uk for some reports and articles that are relatively spin-free (disclaimer: we're consultants so we can't claim total impartiality).  We're also the original developers of an open source .NET based DAM: FocusOPEN Digital Asset Manager.  If .NET doesn't appeal then http://www.opensourcedigitalassetmanagement.org seems to have a good run down of the major options that don't cost anything to get going.
    Good luck

  • Digital Asset Management Systems

Does anybody know of a Digital Asset Management System that can preview Illustrator files without 'PDF Compatible' checked?

Cannot remember if Extensis portfolio did, or if you needed to save with pdf compatible on. You can download the trial here:

Can SNTC inventory data be automatically fed into an existing Asset Management system such as Altiris?  Thanks.

    Hi,
At this point in time we do not expose a mechanism to facilitate an automatic push of data to external systems.

  • SharePoint as Digital Asset Management System

I am looking at SharePoint for DAM usage.  I note that when I experimented it did a fast job of thumbnailing our assets server.  Problem is it seems to only want to upload these files to the SharePoint server.  That's no good.  It
would take months to upload and IT would meltdown.
I'd just like to use the thumbnail library with pointers to the actual file location.
Seems Bamboo addresses this, but I just wanted to see if there were other solutions.
    Dave
    Mallette

I think that's the answer.  I find SharePoint useful, but counter-intuitive.  All those excellent and fast media search and thumbnail features for remote drives, but if you want to keep the results you have to move the assets to the SP server.
Cannot imagine why I'd want to do that as moving terabytes of stuff just to catalog it would take months.  Further, the video file size is limited to 2gb, which is tiny for an HD video file.
We're going to evaluate the Bamboo File Share option.  It's pretty cheap and appears to solve the issue.  If it does, the price alone suggests it's not hard and should have been available anyway.
    Thanks for the responses.

  • Custom asset-management system provider

    Hi,
I've implemented kAMSPBoss, IAMServiceProvider. I can find in the debugging output that the plugins are properly called and initialized, but after the CanService and Init the plugin is not called anymore and the checkin and checkout functions are not available anymore.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Jon,
The amsp architecture and how to use it is pretty well documented in the porting-guide.pdf, pages 39-43. It should get you started.

  • Tapeless video asset management

I am an underwater videographer with hours of footage currently stored on mini DV tapes. I have just converted to a hard drive based HD system, and realize i need a digital asset management system. I am a small scale one man business, looking for a solution to be able to store, tag and retrieve video files that integrates with Final Cut so I don't need to input data more than once. Any ideas?

    There's also FootTrack. And Frameline.
    Maybe Final Cut Server?
Finally, Aperture now supports importing video. So this might be something worth looking into. IMHO, what it has over Lightroom is that it's a better DAM solution. So maybe Aperture for video cataloging?

  • Asset Management and tracking using iOS?

    Hi,
I would like to use iphones for asset management and tracking and am having a bit of difficulty finding what I am looking for. I bought delicious library 3 at home to see if it could track code39 or code128 but so far it doesn't work, and I can't seem turn off Amazon searching. Anyway, I also ran across iCody, which looked nice and even clz barry, but they all seem to be data entry only.
What I am looking for is an app/application set that can work in two ways:
    1. Build a database (this could be manually if it needs to be) of asset items. I would then enter details about that item into the database.
    2. Scan, view, and possibly edit the item by barcode using an iOS device.
Has anyone found something that will do this? I'm not real interested in demoing apps by buying them first
    thanks

    Hi Stephanie,
SAP Real Estate Management is made to manage space, room reservation, moves, lease administration and so on, while SAP Enterprise Management is used in a property management environment to manage repairs, maintenance and services. SAP Real Estate Management provides Usage and Architectural Master Data Object to display the portfolio, while SAP Enterprise Asset Management provides so called Functional Locations. In SAP Real Estate Management there is an option to automatically create and/or update Functional Locations in SAP Enterprise Asset Management and a BAdI to synchronize Fixture & Fittings on SAP Real Estate Management objects with entries in the Classification System in SAP Enterprise Asset Management. For more information please check the SAP Help Portal:

  • ASSET MANAGEMENT CONTROL

    Dear Colleagues,
    At the company where I work,Users for Asset control are using;
KO01 - To create an investment order.
ZAFE_0002 - To set up capital project (Customised Application)
KO88 - for Settlement of investment order.
AS01 - For creation of asset
    KOB5 - To start depreciation.
    1.  Is it possible to set up a fixed asset with various starting points for depreciation? For Example, we have a blanket AFE for Computer Hardware Replacement.  This is used for multiple purchases throughout the year.We have created an asset for this in SAP and find that when we start depreciating newly purchased items, the system puts a backdated charge to when the first time the asset was created.  The only way users think they can work around this is to create new internal orders and assets for each purchase.  Can you suggest a better way?Sorry,I am MM/SD and only used briefly asset management some time ago...
    2.  Can you also advise on how to block an object code and cost centre combination?  I rougly remember how to block an object code for posting but want to block certain cost centres with object codes to help prevent miscodes.  It would be ideal for this to happen when the Purchased/Requisition is being completed.
    Thanks for your help,
    PAPJ1

  • Elearning suite to Learning Management System (LMS) - how-to from an InDesign file?

We need to be able to export InDesign files to a portable SCORM format that could be loaded into various Learning Management Systems (LMS) – however, it is not obvious how we would do this? We need to publish our documents both in a book\PDF format and to various LMS systems such as Blackboard, Moodle, Angel, Desire2Learn, etc.
What am I trying to accomplish? Many of our College and University clients use Learning Management Systems (LMS).  SCORM is a standardized interchange format used to provide internet ready information (e-book data, test questions, etc.) to any LMS systems. We need to export formatted InDesign documents – which for us are our Lab Manual (book) publications which include: text, graphics, pictures, etc.
Adobe advertises SCORM compatibility as part of its e-learning suite: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/elearningsuite/els/extensions/WSD40882CF-6 C5C-46c0-8D51-273830EB036B.html --- however, I cannot find anyone who can tell me how to get there from InDesign.
In addition, I find it very frustrating that after many calls to Adobe sales and technical staff that I can't find anyone who can help me with the details of how to get from InDesign to Adobe's "SCORM Packager"  See: http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/01/scorm_packager.html which I believe is a part of the e-learning suite.
Is it possible to find a high level technical resource within Adobe that I could talk to who could help me with this issue --- we need to test the ability to produce SCORM compatible files from our InDesign files before we can make a purchase decision.

Adobe's Multi SCORM Packaging tool is designed to take existing single SCORM packages (in zip file format) and merge them into a multi SCORM package with a rewritten imsmanifest.xml file at the root level to tell the LMS what the package contains.  This allows the LMS to build the array of links that its SCORM player requires to allow the course user to navigate from one module to another.
So if InDesign is not currently capable of creating even a single SCO SCORM package, the Adobe Multi-SCORM Packaging tool is not going to be much use to you.
In reality, the Adobe tool is quite limited in functionality.  It's more designed as an add-on for Captivate to allow multi-SCORM courses to be created. Your best bet would probably be to investigate other SCORM packaging tools such as RELOAD that allow you to take content created elsewhere and add them to a SCORM package as resources.
You may need to export your InDesign content as PDF files and have these set up as individual resources or assets in the SCORM package.
However, for any of this to work with an LMS is going to require the final package to have a SCORM API (done with JavaScript) so that user interaction with the individual components of the course is relayed back to the LMS via JavaScript variables.  Packaging tools such as RELOAD may be able to do this with some types of content (e.g. HTML) but I don't know if InDesign output is going to be compatible with this approach.
Have you designed your InDesign course content with interactivity in mind, or is it just straight content delivered in a documentation format?

  • Software Asset Management Solution Accelerator for SCCM 2012 (Contracts, Licenses, Userights, Installations and net usage

    Hello All
With the given need from the market to manage license compliance proactively - the givven toolsets from MS SCCM 2012 should be capable of handling the given complexity. (reference 27 processes out of SAM ISO 19.770-1:2012
Where can I find the solution accelerator, which guides us to help clients on two tipical use-cases
a.) Client has SCCM 2012 - however not yet established the SAM componentes to it (Contracts, Use-rights and License-Comparizons)
b.) Client has no SCCM yet and wants to start his journey with the Commercial scope right away.
    Any guidance highly appreciated

SCCM alone isn't going to fit this need.
You need a License Compliance Solution / Software Asset Management (SAM) solution which SCCM is not.
The issue with those system, they fail of providing clean /usefull data.
Usually the best approach is to collect the data with SCCM, normalize the data for that I used BDNA Normalize, then pull in the SAM.
    Like this:
    SCCM 2012 - Normalize - SAM
