CC Compiler not working

CC compiler : I am try to run a c program on ultra10 machine which runs solaris 8 workstation software. i am getting the following error on runing cc:
cc: not found.
Although the libraries and cc compiler are still present in /usr/ucb/cc but i still getting the same error.

The "cc" in /usr/ucb is only a wrapper for BSD compatibility. You still need to have the real compiler which normally goes in /opt/SUNWspro/bin. The compiler is not bundled with Solaris, so you must buy the compiler or use gcc if you don't find cc there. Also, wherever your compiler is, you must make sure that that directory is in your PATH.

  • PL/SQL Native Compilation - not working!

    I'm at my wits end here.
    Oracle 10.2.0.3 under Windows Server 2003 (i know, i know...) and a whole lot of procedural PL/SQL that I think could benefit from native compilation. I've done this on Linux/unix environments a few times but never imagined it would be quite so painful under Windows.
    Ended up using Visual C++ 2003 (7.1 compiler) which compiled everything. MinGW wouldn't compile everything, lots of undefined references to _setjmp and others, but that's a different subject.
    Anyway, after two days of dealing with issues, I finally get things to compile. The .dll is created. The init parameters say we're native. The test procedure is recompiled as native, and verified in dba_plsql_object_settings. As far as I am aware, native compilation is present and working. But when I run the thing.... performance is the same. Recompile as interpreted... same. Recompile as native again... same. This is demo code here, simple loop, the kind of thing that is 10x faster on my Linux environment.
    Basically the behavior is as though native compilation just isn't working... the DLL isn't working. Funny thing is that it -was- working earlier with the same code... right up until I bounced the box. Now I am dead in the water with no log file, no trace, nothing... just a non-functional native compilation feature.
    Any ideas? Anyone else struggle with this?
    Bob

    SELECT name, value
    FROM gv$parameter
    WHERE name LIKE '%code%';
    Did you do this before you bounced the database?
    ALTER SYSTEM SET plsql_compiler_flags = 'NATIVE';
    or
    ALTER SESSION SET plsql_compiler_flags = 'NATIVE';when perhaps you should have done this:
    ALTER SYSTEM SET plsql_code_type = 'NATIVE' SCOPE=BOTH;

  • 1st time compile not working

    I am having a problem compiling my 'SimpleProgram.
    It is saying 'cant read SimpleProgram.java. I have my sourcei in a dir called javasc. My compiler is in jdk1.3.1_01\bin. I can call javac and it comes up ok but cant find the source. If I do a 'set' command on the dos command line, I can see the dir javac first , then jdk1 bla bla. My file does have an extension of .java. I have changed my auto exec and searched the archives and still it won't compile. When I do a dir of javac the entry
    for my souce code does hav a entry description of JAV on the left of the description. My earlier attempts had a type of txt on the left. Is this my problem... I have tried adding the -classpath and-sourcepath option to javac to no avail. I used
    javac -classpath javasc SimpleProgram.java.
    I am at wits end. Help!

    I'm no expert with MSDOS, but the Path setting is where DOS looks for a .exe or .bat or other 'executables' when you enter something at the command line prompt. It is a MS DOS setting, not Java. If you can launch javac.exe without having to type in the full path to it, then your Path is set correctly. You will always need to specify a path to the source file(s) you want to compile, unless they are in the current directory.
    It is possible to create your own DOS variable and use that:
    set myjava=C:\myjava\
    javac %myjava%someclass.java
    DOS converts %myjava% to c:\myjava\ and so javac.exe tries to compile c:\myjava\someclass.java (I tried the above with Windows 98 SE.)

  • Re: idltojava compiler not working

    Sorry I don't know which java forum this belongs to.
    But basically it is my first CORBA program i.e Hello.idl from sun tutorial.
    I have downloaded the idl compiler from the sun website and when I run the command
    D:\Westminster\Internet-Programming\sunTutorial\corba\testHelloWorl>idltojava HelloApp.idl
    Bad command or file name
    It returns with bad command or filename why???
    when I run the idltojava without the filename is gives me bad command or filename as well. Please help
    idltojava Bad command or filename
    I am new to programming.
    I thing that the problem may be due to that command is not in executable path??
    How do I do this?
    If this sounds basic, please excuse me.

    I think there may be a problem with idltojava compiler
    Please use idlj, which should be located in your
    jdk\bin directory.
    Note that I am using Visibroker ORB, so I am suing their compiler(idl2java), which is different because it
    contains proprietary features. However I ahve tried
    idlj, which comes with the standard installation of
    jdk1.3X.
    Here my example run:
    module HelloApp
         interface Hello
              string sayHello();
    C:\Test>idlj -verbose Hello.idl
    Parsing Hello.idl
    done - Hello.idl
    Generating HelloApp
    done - HelloApp
    Resuting files are:
    HelloHolder.java
    HelloHelper.java
    _HelloStub.java
    Hello.java
    HelloOperations.java
    idltojava may be too old and probable deprecated... but
    I have not read anything to that effect from Sun
    =====================================
    I have downloaded the idltojava compiler from the link
    from Sun Tutorial page at ...idltojava.html
    I have extracted it put it in my bin directory
    i.e. where class path has been set up:
    this is my setting under autoexec.bat file:
    C:\>SET
    PATH=C:\BC5\BIN;C:\JDK1.2\BIN;C:\VISUAL~1\BIN;C:\VISUAL
    1\JAVA\BIN;C:\VI
    SUAL~1\BIN;C:\VISUAL~1\JAVA\BIN;C:\VisualCafe\BIN;C:\Vi
    ualCafe\JAVA\BIN
    Now when you go to c:\jdk1.2\bin the idltojava
    compiler is clearly there.
    Here is the problem I get when I try to compile the
    program:
    D:\Westmin\corba>idltojava Hello.idl
    Bad command or file name
    Couldn't open temporary file
    C:\JDK1.2\BIN\IDLTOJ~1.EXE: fatal error: cannot
    preprocess input; No such file o
    r directory
    please help

  • Group Compilations not working - Pain!!!!

    Hey.
    Ok, i've gone through my entire library sorting out all the info and stuff like that to make my iTuning more enjoyable.
    One thing is Griping me though. I have many compilations. I have them all check as "part of compilation" and even gone to the extent of naming all the album Artist as "Various Artists" But in the library I do not see the "compilation Grouping.
    I get all artists listed alphibetically, which is really annoying. I presume the whole point of having a "group compilations" preference is so that it groups them, so whats going wrong>?
    I browse my library in coverflow btw. And am using the new Itunes update...
    If anyone can shed light on my problem I would be very greatful.
    Thanks
    Jed

    If you're sorting by Artist, iTunes does exactly that — sorts by Artist, regardless of the Compilation checkbox. You need to sort by Album to get the compilations grouped together. Use "Album by Artist" to sort by Compilation status, then Artist, then Album; or use "Album by Year" to sort by Compilation status, then Artist, then Year, then Album.
    This makes sense, if you think about it; the "Compilation" label is applied to albums, not artists, so it's only when sorting by album that compilations are pulled out.

  • Gcc not working with compiled glibc from PKGBUILD

    hello folks, please excuse my english
    i like to compile certain parts of my system, between them are the kernel, glibc , zsh, etc.
    i had noticed that using a compiled version of glibc from abs results in gcc not working at all ( C compiler cannot create executables logs says). this is weird especially because i hadn't had problems before, i have looked for the error mesagges on Google and a lot of people has had this problem but  nobody has a "generic" solution for this

    You have stripped glibc too much.  See the Arch PKGBUILD and make sure your makepkg.conf has STRIP_BINARY etc defined.

  • JSObject programming was not working when compiled in JSDK1.4.2_06

    JSObject programming was not working when compiled in JSDK1.4.2_06.
    But problem solved when i compiled with JSDK1.3.1_15 and tested with JVM 1.3.1_15.
    Still I could not run the class file generated in JSDK1.3.1_15 in JVM 1.4.2_06.
    What do you think happened across the SDK versions? Shouldn't the JSObject
    and other classes be part of the browser JVM.
    I want to know whether JSObject supports in JSDK1.4.2_06.
    It goes into the loop. It neither say error nor execute.

  • This program is well compiled but does not work.

    I would like to know why this program does not work properly:
    the idea is :
    1. the user introduces a text as a string
    2.the progam creates a file (with a FileOutputStream)
    3. then this file is encripted according to DES (using JCE, cipheroutputStream)
    4.the new filw is an encripte file, whose content is introduced in a string (with a FileInputStream)
    (gives no probles of compilation!!)
    (don know why it does not work)
    here goes the code:

    If you don't require your code to run as an applet, you will probably get more mileage from refactoring it to run as an application.
    As sudha_mp implied, an unsigned applet will fail on the line
    FileInputStream fe=new FileInputStream("c:/javasoft/t.txt");
    due to security restrictions. (Which, incidentally, are there for a very good reason)

  • Xerox_mfp scanner not working in arch (compilation bug?)

    I have discovered that my xerox_mfp printer/scanner Xerox Workcentre 3119 is not working in archlinux. However, with the same libsane version, scanner is working in debian.
    I checked the two libraries libsane-xerox_mfp.so.1.0.22: they are different in size.
    I have copied the debian library in /usr/lib/sane and now the scanner is working.

  • .jar file is not working properly :developed in NETBEANS

    Hi Gurus,
    i am using NETBEANS IDE 7.2.
    i am developing a project that interacts with databases 10g and COM ports of machine , these all processes are performed by .bat file which i am trying to run from jFramform , code works perfectly .bat file is also called perfectly when i run the project using F6 from the NETBEANS, for testing i placed some dialogue boxes on the form to test it ,
    but when i run executable .jar  file , form run successfully and dialogue box works perfectly but .bat file is not called by executable .jar file.
    this is how i call the .bat file...
      String filePath = "D:/pms/Libraries/portlib.bat";
            try {
              Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(filePath);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
    and below is the contents of portlib.bat file
    java -jar "D:\SMS\SMS\dist\SMS.jar"
    you must probably ask why i am calling a .jar file using .bat file .
    reason is that this .jar project sends message using GSM mobile , System.exit(); is compulsory to complete a job and then do the next one ,
    if i use the same file to execute this job it makes exit to entire the application (hope you can understand my logic).
    that's why i use extra .jar file in .bat file , when single job is completed .bat exits itself and new command is given.
    Problem is that code is working perfectly in NETBEANS when i run the project but when i run .jar then .bat file is not working  ,
    thanks.

    Thanks Sir ,
    You need to first test an example that works like the one in the article.
    There are plenty of other examples on the web - find one you like:
    http://javapapers.com/core-java/os-processes-using-java-processbuilder/
    I tried this one.
      try {
                ProcessBuilder dirProcess = new ProcessBuilder("D:/SMS/SMS/Send_message.bat");
                 File commands = new File("D:/SMS/SMS/Send_message.bat");
                 File dirOut = new File("C:/process/out.txt");
                 File dirErr = new File("C:/process/err.txt");
               dirProcess.redirectInput(commands);
                 dirProcess.redirectOutput(dirOut);
               dirProcess.redirectError(dirErr);
                 dirProcess.start();
            } catch (IOException ex) {
                Logger.getLogger(mainform.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
    as instructed in the article i compiled  both the projects at same version or sources and libraries which is 1.7
    here is my version details
    C:\>javac -version
    javac 1.7.0_07
    C:\>java -version
    java version "1.7.0_07"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_07-b11)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 23.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
    inside the NETBEANS IDE c:\process\err.txt  remains empty and code works perfectly , but when I run executable .jar file( by double clicking on that file in dist directry) then c:\process\err.txt becomes full with this error text and there is no response from calling D:\SMS\SMS\send_message.bat
    here is the error text

  • XSLT Mapping with Java class not working in Integration Repository

    Hi,
    I have an XSLT mapping program with Java enhancement and I was able to successfully tested it in Stylus Studio. However, when I imported the Java class and the xslt program in Enterprise Service Builder and tested it, my program does not compile.
    Here is the error message: "Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT mapping_temp.xsl; details: Could not compile stylesheet".
    My java program is in a zip file containing SOAPHeaderHandler.java and SOAPHeaderhandler.class. My Java has a package com.nga.xslt.
    Here is the declaration of my Java class in the XSLT: xmlns:javamap="java:com.nga.xslt.SOAPHeaderHandler"
    It seems that it could not read the java class. Can you please advice what is wrong?

    Hi ,
    select XMLTOOLKIT option in Operation mapping and execute it.
    I am not sure we can call java program in XSLT Program,but alternative is copy the code and use it in XSLT mapping it self,that means your XSLT program will become with JAVA extensions.
    then in Operation mapping level select SAPXMLTOOL kit option and execute it. i hope it will work. if it is not working then you have deploy some JAXP files on server,because the way execution of XSLT Mpaping program got changed,like when eve you executing XSLT with extnasions( if you are not using XMLTOOL kit option) then you have to use latest version of JAXP.JDK files.

  • 10bit (30Bit) Color & Liquify Filter (both not working at the Same Time)

    Hi,
    i've a Problem with Photoshop CS6 & CC (Actual)
    On CS6, 10 bit (30bit) Color is working, but if i want to use the Liquify filter Pucker & Bloat are not working correctly while 10 bit (30bit) enabled, they are reakting too fast, changing setting does not help.
    On CC with 10bit (30bit Color) enabled it's even worse, the whole Picture inside the Liquify tool is muddy only in Blue Pixels.
    I'm using a Amd FirePro W8100 with the Actual WHQL driver, the Certifyed driver is worse too.
    Any suggestion?

  • Php include not working

    Good Afternoon.
    I am having a hard time trying to find what needs to be set to allow url
    include statments in php on Netware 6.5 sp3, php5.
    I know my code is correct after trying it on an external server, and it

    below:
    <?php
    include ('http://your.website.here/filenamehere.php');
    ?>
    php.ini is posted below:
    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; This file controls many aspects of PHP's behavior. In order for PHP to
    ; read it, it must be named 'php.ini'. PHP looks for it in the current
    ; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
    ; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).
    ; Under Windows, the compile-time path is the Windows directory. The
    ; path in which the php.ini file is looked for can be overridden using
    ; the -c argument in command line mode.
    ; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
    ; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably
    guessed).
    ; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
    ; they might mean something in the future.
    ; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
    ; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or
    M_PI), one
    ; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an
    expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), or a quoted string ("foo").
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and
    parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the
    equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = none ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "none" ; sets foo to the string 'none'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend
    extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the
    extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; This is the recommended, PHP 5-style version of the php.ini-dist file.
    It
    ; sets some non standard settings, that make PHP more efficient, more
    secure,
    ; and encourage cleaner coding.
    ; The price is that with these settings, PHP may be incompatible with some
    ; applications, and sometimes, more difficult to develop with. Using this
    ; file is warmly recommended for production sites. As all of the changes
    from
    ; the standard settings are thoroughly documented, you can go over each
    one,
    ; and decide whether you want to use it or not.
    ; For general information about the php.ini file, please consult the
    php.ini-dist
    ; file, included in your PHP distribution.
    ; This file is different from the php.ini-dist file in the fact that it
    features
    ; different values for several directives, in order to improve
    performance, while
    ; possibly breaking compatibility with the standard out-of-the-box
    behavior of
    ; PHP. Please make sure you read what's different, and modify your scripts
    ; accordingly, if you decide to use this file instead.
    ; - register_globals = Off [Security, Performance]
    ; Global variables are no longer registered for input data (POST, GET,
    cookies,
    ; environment and other server variables). Instead of using $foo, you
    must use
    ; you can use $_REQUEST["foo"] (includes any variable that arrives
    through the
    ; request, namely, POST, GET and cookie variables), or use one of the
    specific
    ; $_GET["foo"], $_POST["foo"], $_COOKIE["foo"] or $_FILES["foo"],
    depending
    ; on where the input originates. Also, you can look at the
    ; import_request_variables() function.
    ; Note that register_globals is going to be depracated (i.e., turned
    off by
    ; default) in the next version of PHP, because it often leads to
    security bugs.
    ; Read http://php.net/manual/en/security.registerglobals.php for
    further
    ; information.
    ; - register_long_arrays = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the older (and deprecated) long predefined
    array
    ; variables ($HTTP_*_VARS). Instead, use the superglobals that were
    ; introduced in PHP 4.1.0
    ; - display_errors = Off [Security]
    ; With this directive set to off, errors that occur during the
    execution of
    ; scripts will no longer be displayed as a part of the script output,
    and thus,
    ; will no longer be exposed to remote users. With some errors, the
    error message
    ; content may expose information about your script, web server, or
    database
    ; server that may be exploitable for hacking. Production sites should
    have this
    ; directive set to off.
    ; - log_errors = On [Security]
    ; This directive complements the above one. Any errors that occur
    during the
    ; execution of your script will be logged (typically, to your server's
    error log,
    ; but can be configured in several ways). Along with setting
    display_errors to off,
    ; this setup gives you the ability to fully understand what may have
    gone wrong,
    ; without exposing any sensitive information to remote users.
    ; - output_buffering = 4096 [Performance]
    ; Set a 4KB output buffer. Enabling output buffering typically
    results in less
    ; writes, and sometimes less packets sent on the wire, which can often
    lead to
    ; better performance. The gain this directive actually yields greatly
    depends
    ; on which Web server you're working with, and what kind of scripts
    you're using.
    ; - register_argc_argv = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the somewhat redundant $argv and $argc
    global
    ; variables.
    ; - magic_quotes_gpc = off [Performance]
    ; Input data is no longer escaped with slashes so that it can be sent
    into
    ; SQL databases without further manipulation. Instead, you should use
    the
    ; function addslashes() on each input element you wish to send to a
    database.
    ; - variables_order = "GPCS" [Performance]
    ; The environment variables are not hashed into the $_ENV. To access
    ; environment variables, you can use getenv() instead.
    ; - error_reporting = E_ALL [Code Cleanliness, Security(?)]
    ; By default, PHP surpresses errors of type E_NOTICE. These error
    messages
    ; are emitted for non-critical errors, but that could be a symptom of
    a bigger
    ; problem. Most notably, this will cause error messages about the use
    ; of uninitialized variables to be displayed.
    ; - allow_call_time_pass_reference = Off [Code cleanliness]
    ; It's not possible to decide to force a variable to be passed by
    reference
    ; when calling a function. The PHP 4 style to do this is by making the
    ; function require the relevant argument by reference.

    ; Output buffering allows you to send header lines (including cookies) even
    ; after you send body content, at the price of slowing PHP's output layer a
    ; bit. You can enable output buffering during runtime by calling the
    output
    ; buffering functions. You can also enable output buffering for all files
    by
    ; setting this directive to On. If you wish to limit the size of the
    buffer
    ; to a certain size - you can use a maximum number of bytes instead of
    'On', as
    ; a value for this directive (e.g., output_buffering=4096).
    output_buffering = 4096
    ; You can redirect all of the output of your scripts to a function. For
    ; example, if you set output_handler to "mb_output_handler", character
    ; encoding will be transparently converted to the specified encoding.
    ; Setting any output handler automatically turns on output buffering.
    ; Note: People who wrote portable scripts should not depend on this ini
    ; directive. Instead, explicitly set the output handler using
    ob_start().
    ; Using this ini directive may cause problems unless you know what
    script
    ; is doing.
    ; Note: You cannot use both "mb_output_handler" with "ob_iconv_handler"
    ; and you cannot use both "ob_gzhandler" and
    "zlib.output_compression".
    ; Note: output_handler must be empty if this is set 'On' !!!!
    ; Instead you must use zlib.output_handler.
    ;output_handler =

    ; Valid values for this option are 'off', 'on', or a specific buffer size
    ; to be used for compression (default is 4KB)

    ; outputs chunks that are few hundreds bytes each as a result of
    ; compression. If you prefer a larger chunk size for better
    ; performance, enable output_buffering in addition.
    ; Note: You need to use zlib.output_handler instead of the standard
    ; output_handler, or otherwise the output will be corrupted.

  • If statement within a view is not working correctly ?

    Hi all,
    maybe i am wrong but i think the if statement within a view is not working correctly. See code down below.
    I would like to use the Hallo World depending on the page attribute isFrame with or without all the neccessary html tags. Therefore i have embedded the htmlb tags in an if statement. But for any reason if isframe is initial it isn't working. It would be great if anybody could help me.
    <%@page language="abap"%>
    <%@extension name="htmlb" prefix="htmlb"%>
    <% if not isframe is initial. %>
      <htmlb:content design="design2003">
         <htmlb:page title = "Top Level Navigation view">
    <% endif. %>
    hallo world
    <% if not isframe is initial. %>
         </htmlb:page>
      </htmlb:content>
    <% endif. %>
    thanks in advance and best regards
    Matthias Hlubek

    Matthias,
    The short answer: your example is <b>NOT</b> going to work. The long answer will probably 5 pages to describe. So first let me rewrite the example so that it could work, and then give a short version of the long answer. Do not be disappointed if it is not totally clear. It is rather complicated. (See the nice form of IF statements that are possible since 620.)
    <%@page language="abap"%>
    <%@extension name="htmlb" prefix="htmlb"%>
    <% if isframe is <b>NOT</b> initial. %>
    <htmlb:content design="design2003">
      <htmlb:page title = "Top Level Navigation view">
        hallo world
      </htmlb:page>
    </htmlb:content>
    <% else. %>
      hallo world
    <% endif. %>
    So why does your example not work? Let us start with a simple tag:
      <htmlb:page title = "Top Level Navigation view">
      </htmlb:page>
    Now, for each tag, we have effectively the opening part (<htmlb:page>), an optional body, and then the closing part (</htmlb:page>). We are now at the level of the BSP runtime processing one tag. What the runtime does not know, is whether the tag wants to process its body or not. Each tag can decide dynamically at runtime whether the body should be processed. So the BSP compiler generates the following code:
      DATA: tag TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_page.
      CREATE OBJECT tag.
      tag->title = 'Top Level Navigation view'.
      IF tag->DO_AT_BEGINNING( ) = CONTINUE.
      ENDIF.
      tag->DO_AT_END( ).
    You should actually just debug your BSP code at ABAP level, and then you will immediately see all of this. Now, let us mix in your example with our code generation. First you simplified example:
    <% if isframe is NOT initial. %>
      <htmlb:page title = "Top Level Navigation view">
    <% endif. %>
    <% if isframe is NOT initial. %>
      </htmlb:page>
    <% endif. %>
    And then with our generated code. Look specifically at how the IF/ENDIF blocks suddenly match!
    if isframe is NOT initial.
      DATA: tag TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_page.
      CREATE OBJECT tag.
      tag->title = 'Top Level Navigation view'.
      IF tag->DO_AT_BEGINNING( ) = CONTINUE.
    endif.
    if isframe is NOT initial.
      ENDIF.
      tag->DO_AT_END( ).
    endif.
    You can see that your ENDIF statements are closing IF blocks generated by the BSP compiler. Such a nesting will not work. This is a very short form of the problem, there are a number of variations, and different types of the same problem.
    The only way to solve this problem, is probably to put the body into a page fragment and include it like I did above with the duplicate HelloWorld strings. But this duplicates source code. Better is to put body onto a view, that can be processed as required.
