CC Desktop App login problem

Hi,
I have migrated over to a new iMac and am having trouble with CC.
I just get a blank desktop app screen with no chance to login.
I have tried the items mentioned on other forums about deleting ppm.db files and deleting OOBE folders but neither have helped.
I have also deleted all CC apps and the desktop app and still no luck.
I have reinstalled the CC desktop app but still it is blank and does not allow a login.
I\ve attached a pic of what i'm getting.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Barry

• I can't login from the desktop app - "Login error. Please contact the Admin."

1) Does anyone have the same problem as described below?
2) Does anyone know how to fix it?
When I try to "work online" from the desktop app, I get asked to log out of offline, then log into online. When I put in my username and password, it gives me the error "Login error. Please contact the Admin." I've clicked the link "Trouble logging in?" and followed instructions to reset my password, which I successfully reset to a new one. I still get the error.
I have a subscription to Adobe Story Plus and am working offline/online using the desktop app. I haven't logged in to sync my documents in about a month. My account is in good standing (paid 2 weeks ago according to my account transactions screen). I'm now trying to collaborate, so it's important that I be able to sync.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Hi Rohit,
Thanks for your response. I've resolved the problem myself, and you may be
interested to know how in case it happens again with another user - I
thought maybe it was a versioning discrepancy and I was right (I assume).
However, I couldn't update my desktop software (or I couldn't figure out
how to update it) until I rebooted my machine, then Story went into an
auto-update sequence.
After it updated, it logged in and sync'd just fine. Classic "help"
question where the answer basically was: reboot. I shouldn't tried that
before I posted!
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
John

• APPS login problem

Hi,
I have added a new node into existing EBS.
I have a EBS complete instance running on node1 now I cloned application tier into node2 and also ran adaddnode.pl, Now OAM shows status as up for all components.
Problem is if I shutdown components in Node2, I am not able to access EBS at all.
for example if i stop apache on node2 and try to login
http://node1.domain.com:8007
it tells unable to connect to http://node2.domain.com:8007, if i start apache on node2 i will be able to login, but the url in browser after login will be of node2. It I try to access any form for eg system administrator -> user -> define it gives FRM error telling tht it cannot access forms server on node2.
I dont know why is this redirection happening, can't I use node1 independent of node2.
Regards
Sandeep V

I understand that you did clone from single node to multi-node. Please make sure you do the following:
- Apply Patch 5478710 - TXK (FND & ADX) AUTOCONFIG ROLLUP PATCH O (December 2006)
- Prepare the source system, copy it to the new node and configure it
- After adcfgclone.pl completes, source the Applications environment and run the following commands on the target system:
cd <COMMON_TOP>/clone/bin
perl adaddnode.pl - Run AutoConfig on all tiers, firstly on the DB tier and then all the APPS tiers to repopulate the required system tables

• Air desktop app login offline

Hi All
Im new to flex / air and i am looking into how i can have a user login to an air app offline and storing the credentials offline as well as to track their app usage on a sqlite database.
if any one has an example i appreciate it.

Nevermind - the txt file that contains the version number and the url for the updater has the url for my live site, not my test one, so I changed it , and it installed fine.

• Adobe App Login problem

Can't access adobe app in iPhone, a message appears saying the ID or the Password is incorrect, although I can still access my account in Adobe home page. Any help please

Hi
It looks like you don't have a date of birth set up.
Adobe asks for you to report your age to ensure compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Fair Trade Commission (FTC) guidance interpreting it. Our birth date collection and blocking practices are similar to those you would experience when registering for any U.S.-based internet site that does not allow registration by users under the age of 13.
We apologize for not showing the correct error string.
If you use this id and sign in to files.acrobat.com using a web browser like safari, you will be asked to update your date of birth before allowing access to the service. Once you have updated your DOB, you can use the same id to login to Acrobat.com using the Reader Mobile app on your device.
Thanks

you need to use the original btinterent.com email address and would have been on the original documantation. you can try live chat and see if they can help

• Adobe Story Desktop App - unable to get past login

This problem is not present on all my home computers or laptops which leads me to believe this will be an issue with my computer.
On my 2012 iMac I was recently able to launch, login and work inside Adobe Story Desktop. Last night I went to launch the app and installed both the application and Air update, after that I lunched the desktop app and entered my CC login details, however once I do this the 'signing in' popup appears, then disapears and leaves me at the 'learn more' & 'sign in' screen. I can't get past this.
I have tried uninstalling the desktop app, restarting and reinstalling the app, but this has not solved the problem.
I have opened Story inside Chrome and Firefox on the same computer and have no problems.
I also tried using the desktop app on my laptop this morning and it still works, however I decided not to update both the app and Adobe Air as I was worried this was causing my the problem with the desktop app.
Any help on the matter would be welcomed.
Thanks!

[Please do not try these steps if you are a free user]
Hi,
I am assuming that you have remaned the 'com.adobe.adobestory' folder that is present inside 'ELS' folder and you are still facing this issue.
If yes, then please try these steps:
- Quit Adobe Story if it is running.
- Open Finder.
- Press Cmd + Shift + G and press enter after pasting this location: ~/Library/Preferences/
- Open folder 'com.adobe.AdobeStory.**some-random-number**'
- Open folder 'LocalStore' and rename file 'offlineAccountInfoStorage' to something else, e.g. 'offlineAccountInfoStorage12'
- Launch Adobe Story and try to login.
Let me know if these steps workout for you.
Thanks

• Creative Cloud for Desktop app Launch at login (solved)

I’ve had an issue with Creative Cloud for Desktop app (using Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64) – regardless of what has been set on my Preferences > General Tab > Launch at login, my app didn’t start at logon (system startup).
I’ve tried:
uncheck the ‘Launch at login’ option (Preferences > General Tab). Restart PC. Launch the CC app, check ‘Launch at login’. Restart. Didn’t help.
uncheck the ‘Launch at login’ option (Preferences > General Tab). Restart PC. Remove the startup Key from registry stored under: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]. Restart. Launch the CC app, check ‘Launch at login’. Restart. Didn’t help.
reinstall Creative Cloud for desktop app. Didn’t help.
rename the OPM.db file (as described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/apps-panel-reflect-creative-cloud.html). Didn’t help.
Finally - since the CC app is actually and x86 application - I’ve moved the startup entry from the x64 Run Key [Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] into the common x86 [Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run].
Simply:
a. Remove:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Adobe Creative Cloud"="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe\\Adobe Creative Cloud\\ACC\\Creative Cloud.exe\" --showwindow=false --onOSstartup=true"
a. Create:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Adobe Creative Cloud"="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe\\Adobe Creative Cloud\\ACC\\Creative Cloud.exe\" --showwindow=false --onOSstartup=true"
And you know what? it woooorks!!! Now my app starts with windows!
I'm sharing this in case someone else has run into the same problem.
Best Regards,

thanks John
I am an Admin User although I would install using Run As Admin
64 bit Dell Laptop
Windows 8.1 - update
Windows Firewall
Kaspersky Anti-virus - not tried turning off but will do so and respond
All my programs have downloaded, installed and are still working (Muse, Photoshop, etc.)
Not installed any hardware since registering for Adobe, but have installed Articulate Studio 13, and also Articulate Storyline
Originally received an update for the desktop app, which failed to install
Tried repeatedly (including turning off firewall) but no luck
Uninstalled the desktop app - after following a link in one of the forums
downloaded the new desktop app - installed - perfect
Other application updates installed perfectly, including the big update for Muse to 64 bit
Most recent update for desktop app failed to install, so tried the above, removed the desktop app, but cannot now find the link to the new version to download.
Hopefully just need to find the download link to the desktop app, but travelling at present so do not get enough time to surf to locate it :-(

• Can't login to story desktop app build 1091

I can login into the web app no problem. When I open the desktop app I login in, it loads then returns me to the login screen. I can do this over and over and it doesn't change. I've reinstalled and still can't login. CS6 creative cloud.

If you are not using the latest build of Story then I'll advice you to uninstall the current version of Story from your machine and get the latest one from story.adobe.com/AIR/AdobeStory.air and install that.
If you are still not able to signin properly in the application and you are a Story plus user then do the following on your mac: (we have seen this issue only on mac machines, let us know if it's otherwise)
1. Make sure Story is closed.
2. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/
3. Now rename the folder com.adobe.adobestory… [Just put something at the end] [NOTE: Do not delete it as we may need it later]
4. Relaunch Story and try to login.
If you are a Story free user then you can contact us @ DL-AdobeStory-Support <[email protected]> we'll help you get past the issue.

• Desktop app can't login

I can't login to the desktop app. It only says that my password/username is incorrect despite using the same for both on the web player. I've tried resetting my password twice and no caps lock isn't on or anything like that, but it only tells me that my username/password is incorrect. I can log in to the web player just fine. Edit: and now my Playstation 4 application cannot login either. Same problem.

• Namespace problem while updating a desktop app

Hello,
I've searched on a lot of forums but didn't find anything accurate on my problem.
I have an old AIR 2.0 desktop app that updated itself.
I want to update it to the last 3.4 framework. So I followed instructions for the intermediate application to update (between 2.0 and 2.5).
I manage to update from 2.0 to a Air 2.5 intermediate application, while still having the 2.0 namespace in the app descriptor file.
But it is impossible for me to update this 2.5 application (with 2.0 namespace) to a 2.5 namespace !!
Here si my update descriptor file :

<update xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/framework/update/description/2.5">
<versionNumber>0.3.2</versionNumber>
<versionLabel>Version for 0.3.2</versionLabel>

Final test

</update>
But I'm having the error 16831 : "Application namespace and update.xml namespace are not compatible".
It seems that my application only wants to update to another one with the exact same namespace.
How this can be ?
Thanks !
I must say that I publish to AIR 2.5 with Flash CS5 and flashpro extension for air (in beta version) as Flash CS6 always overwrite the app descriptor while publishing (so it is impossible to change the namespace to 2.0 for example)

Ok, after having searched a lot, I managed to understand what was going on....
To those interested, the update descriptor must stay in a 1.0 namespace until the end of the process.
When all is updated (app namespace to 2.5), you can use the 2.5 update descriptor namespace....

• CC desktop app Mac sign in problem - stuck in a loop

Abhijit,
I'm afraid that my problem with the CC Desktop App Home panel is NOT a disk permissions issue...
Per your suggestion, I verified my hard drive, repaired permissions, and rebooted my laptop. However, when I click on the Creative Cloud icon in the Finder's menu bar, the Home panel still displays a continually spinning gear wheel, as it did previously. The Apps panel is properly displayed, and the Files and Fonts panels display "coming attractions" messages; I don't have any projects in the Behance panel.
Prior to visiting this forum, I did a Google search on the problem of "CC Desktop App Home Panel Hangs," and I found a couple posts suggesting that the only way to cure this problem is to uninstall all CC/CS6 apps, use Adobe Cleaner to clean up the CS6/CC installation, and then reinstall all the apps via CC...and that doing all this does not necessarily prevent the problem for recurring.
I must say that I'm finding certain aspects of the Creative Cloud implementation to be surprisingly buggy. I've already lost a couple day's work to dealing with Creative Cloud installation and functionality issues--which is very frustrating, to say the least.
That being said, if you have any other suggestions, I'm willing to try them, as I would like to get my Creative Cloud installation working properly.
