CC Desktop app update is stucked on "finishing" status

Hello,
2 days ago I initiated updates of CC apps from the CC desktop app as it notified me to do so.
I started to update after effects CC and while it was doing so I was working on Lightroom. Then a pop up window appeared asking me to close lightroom before the update can finish. I did so and since then the update status is stuck on "finishing" status and has not been finishing it...
What should I do?
Thanks,
Jean-Yves

  • Problem with CC desktop app update

Anybody has Problem with CC desktop app update?

    Hi boloco
here are some soultions, which helped me out on my first trouble:
CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed
Good luck (I have new problems today which could not be solved by one of those)

  • Hi, i purchased and downloaded the lr6 desktop app (update), and used my serial number from the email from adobe but it said it was only eligible for lr5. thanks, rich

hi, i purchased and downloaded the lr6 desktop app (updating from lr5, paid 80. for the update), and used my serial number from the email from adobe sentbut it said it was only eligible for lr5. thanks, rich

If you purchased an upgrade from LR5 to LR6 then after you enter your LR6 serial number, you will need to enter your LR5 serial number, unless LR6 finds LR5 on the computer.  This also assumes that you've purchased the perpetual license of both LR5 and LR6, not a cloud license for LR5 which doesn't use a serial number for licensing.  If entering a LR6 then LR5 serial number into LR6's serial-number area isn't working, then is there something special about the LR5 that would make it ineligible for an upgrade?

  • Why does every attempt at installing CC Desktop App (update) fail?

I have been with Adobe Creative Cloud for a few months but lately when CC says an update for the desktop app is ready for download it will nearly finish installing but always end in this dialog:  "We've encountered the following issues:  Creative Cloud desktop failed to install" or this one, "Administrator privileges are required to continue with the installation."

If you remove the cloud desktop app altogether do updates show in the individual programmes as that seems to use adobe update manager?
If adobe are going to insist on an internet connection then they have to get their back end system to be reliable. They can't claim it is our internet connections that are the issue when it is *only* their software that is problematic to upgrade. Everyone else's loads fine and updates fine. No fuss, no drama. Properly written installations allow admin authentication from a user account and work via firewalls. Even with the firewall off CC won't update the desktop version so I have uninstalled it completely and won't be reinstalling it until a proper version is released that works reliably.

  • My app install is stuck on Finishing...

My whole Creative Cloud desktop app does not appear to be working. I can open the app, but I tried to update Photoshop CC (2014) about a week ago and the progress indicator stalled at 85%. Today I decided to "x" out of it. Now it has said "Finishing..." for hours. When I pull down the gear menu, I see that it says:
    Pause File Syncing
    1.57% or 2 GB
That percentage hasn't budged in days. Today I tried to install the Paper Texture Pro add-on and it never installed, I think because the file syncing is hung. My Internet connection is working fine, so that's not the problem. I'm on Windows 8.1.
Any troubleshooting help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Nicole.

  • CC desktop app update 1.7.0.413 freezes Mac

..well just 12h in the c.cloud and this is my third visit to the forum to solve a problem.. haven't been here so often in all this years before while using Adobe products
I would like to work not to write posts in the forum..
After login problems on first login, then dreamwaver install and crash problems, it now the desktop application.
After starting CC desktop app this morning I am offered an update to 1.7.0.413, when I do this the whole Mac (10.9.3) freezes with in a minute. Tried it now for three times without success and giving up.

follow solution 2 here, CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed

  • Why doesn't CC desktop app update work?  Error 50.

I tried to update through the app when it told me there was a new update for Creative Cloud.
The update failed to install (Error 50) after downloading.  Two different PCs with completely different hardware/drivers/configurations - same problem on both.  I had to completely uninstall the app and reinstall, which negates the whole idea of the update process.  What exactly is the point of an update facility if it doesn't work?  I hear this is not an uncommon problem.
Photoshop CC and Lightroom are great, but the CC desktop app is garbage.  Time to start from scratch with this one, Adobe.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App Update 1.9.1.474 sets sync folder back to default (windows)

    Hi All,
Second time this has happened with an update to Creative Cloud Desktop App (Windows).
Update completes correctly but then notice that file sync is going mad and is re-syncing everything but to the default location (usually user\username\ - in Win 8.1).
Last time this occurred I seemed to get some loss of files.
I've now let it re-sync everything to the default location and then resetting it to the previous location (where files are still present - but is on a different drive).
Surprised to hear Support (Swati) hasn't heard this occur before but thought it worth putting it out there to both warn others and see if its just me!
This was for definite with update 1.9.1.474 of Creative Cloud Desktop (And think it was with the previous mandatory release).
    Cheers,
    M

    Hi Mark,
as you correctly point out with the recent update of the Creative Cloud Desktop app (1.9.1.474) we unfortunately introduced a bug which causes the creation of a new Creative Cloud Files folder, and re-sync of all content. This will only occur the first time the sync application runs after the update. This has caused understandable pain and confusion, for which we truly apologise.
The Creative Cloud Files app contains logic that supports the use of multiple Adobe IDs. This allows you to sign out of one ID and in to another, but keeps your Creative Cloud content separate. When you sign out and change IDs, the app moves the previous Creative Cloud Files folder and it's contents and appends it with the previously signed in ID (User@AdobeID). It then creates a new main folder and starts to sync content of the new ID.
The bug which I mentioned previously occurs, as the app believes an ID switch has taken place and as such, moves the current Creative Cloud Files folder and tries to append the previously signed in ID. As no switch has actually taken place it manifests as (Unknown).  The app then creates a new main folder at syncs down the data.
Essentially what you end up with is a Creative Cloud Files folder with your newly sync'd data and a Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder that contains duplicate data.
This occurs once, after the last update completes.
The fix is to simply delete the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
I would advise that you ensure you have no pending edits that you may have made offline and that you check the contents of the new, main Creative Cloud Files folder contains everything you expect it to.  If not, check the contents of the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
If there is still a discrepancy with your data, you can check on creative.adobe.com to confirm your data is there.
If you have any further problems or questions about this particular issue please email [email protected]

  • (2014) Creative Cloud Desktop App updates

I noticed in the recent Creative Cloud desktop apps the updates indicate in (2014).  Are these apps actually different than the old CC apps for Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator or once the update takes place the old update for the app without (2014) will fall off?

I do not know if this applies to any other Mac users, but, since this happens on my Mac (2009, so maybe that is a problem) every time the desktop app has an update, but the update will not install (ever since THE VERY DAY CC 2014 went live)
the magic bullet seems to be —
After getting rid of any trace of CC Desktop App
Delete Adobe Application Manager Folder (Applications ==>Utilities Folder ==> Adobe Application Manager)
    Install new download of AAM
Install new download of CC Desktop App.

  • BB Desktop App Updater-malfunctioning

Please Help me with this dear BB Community
It took some niffty bit of working out to get this screen print to you because the page here couldn't hold the word docx.file I originally screen shot, this is a double screen shot for anyone wanting to know.
First from the PC, then with the docx.file opened on the phone, bb screen shot app.
In the screenshot below (follow the arrow) is a picture of two BlackBerry Desktop Icons in the Quick Launch Toolbar.
I believe it is representing the updater, but when I go to open it up, nothing is happening and it doesn't open up into a dialogue box or anything.
I do not know if it at work or not and have tried to find out.
Is there a problem why it's shown itself here and am not able to start/stop or remind later why it is not opening for me.
Please if someone could guide me with this, because if my bb desktop app needs updating, am quite happy to proceed but don't know where to start.
    Yours Sincerely

    Dear BB Support Community
I have been back at my home and I use my BB Torch to make a tether connection as I find that I get continuous connection better than my dongle.
I know that the area am in does not have great reception as others to which I keep my provider informed of this.
I use Windows Live for all my important mail but have found that when I open this App either at opening or while working my connection breaks and windows has to assess a report to deliver back to Microsoft company.
I did receive updates for the desktop and I believe it's connection to my phone but this has not made any difference as this is the first time I have written to you using this PC I have also noticed that I have been receiving a notice twice to say My Request could Not Be Completed.
I know the PC am using is an old XP Dell Dimension 4400, with 37GB Hard Drive Space with 11GB left and RAM of 512MB and the full Kaspersky Internet Security, why would my BB Desktop App stop working and disconnect.
Please if someone can help please reply

  • App Updates are Stuck Waiting

All of my app updates are in waiting mode with no progress in days.  I touch one (Keynote) and the phone shows "Waiting..." and then the message comes up "Unable to Download Application."  "Keynote" could not be downloaded at this time.
    1) I am on WiFi, browsing works fine, have confirmed connected.
    2) Does the same thing on all apps.
    3) I hit update all over a week ago, and every app is not not accessible because it thinks it is being updated, even though stuck
    4) Power Off/On many times
    5) Hard Reset (lock button + home button until Apple logo)
I had this problem on my iPad 2 recently as well.  I reset:
    1) Reset All Settings -- did not fix
    2) Erase All Content and Settings -- this did fix it.
The problem is that "Erase All Content and Settings" forces me to re-download all my apps (200 or so), and none of my folders are preserved.  I have to then spend hours re-building all my folders, or have my apps randomly on 7 or 8 screens.  I would really prefer a solution where I do not have to go to this length to get it fixed.
    Any better ideas?

    Any other ideas?
If I backup my phone, then "Erase All Content and Settings," will a retored backup put all of my apps back into their folders?

  • HT201401 app updates freeze and wont finish download?

I have 4 apps updates that are frozen and won't finish.  What can be done

you can do a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.   Then try updating the apps.

  • Trying to update apps - Updates are 'stuck'

So... I started some app updates on my iPad.  Entered my password as requested.  The black bars over the app icons show up by downloading never starts.  I have tried waiting (a long time).  I have tried rebooting the iPad (both a 'hard' reboot and just powering off/on).  I have logged out of the app store and logged back in... Nothing works... the black bars stay and the apps wont download/update.
    Help !

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.
     Cheers, Tom

  • App updates are stuck on installing, won't update

I have 10 apps to update. They are all stuck on installing. Have rebooted, doesn't do anything. I can't use the apps either. any suggestions?

Make sure you are getting a good internet connection.
Double-tap the Home button (bottom center of the iPhone), to get the current open Apps. Press and hold on one till they start "shivering" and you get the red "-" sign on them.
Such the "-" on the ones you are having troubles with to close them. And press the Home button again to exit the "shiver mode".
Then reset your iPhone (Press and hold the Home and Sleep (Shut Down) buttons at the same tim, till you get the Apple logo). This will not cause any data loss.
When it has finished restarting, open the Apps you were having troubles with. The iPhone should recognize an incompleted upgrade and restart the download/upgrade.
    Good luck.
