CC Desktop No Longer Connects Automatically

I foolishly removed an Adobe Login Item on my mac (10.8.5) and now the Creative Cloud Desktop icon on the menu bar is grayed out after a restart. When I click on it, it says "no internet connection" and has a "Retry" button. If I click the retry button it does connect without an issue, I do not need to enter my Adobe ID and PW. All is well until I need to restart the mac. Not a big deal but it worked before. I cannot find what I removed from the Login Items under Prefererences> Users. It was something like: Adobe Creative Cloud Resource Manager.

Have you tried adding your home wireless network as a "Preferred Network" in your MacBook's AirPort settings?

  • Remote desktop no longer connects after installing Photoshop CS3

    Hi,
Last week I downloaded and installed the Photoshop CS 3 extended trial on a PC that I regularly connect to via remote desktop. After Photoshop had finished installing, I could no longer connect to that machine (Its running Windows XP SP3) through remote desktop.
Searching on this issue has quickly brought up the fact that CS3 installs Apple's Bonjour service and that has been known to cause connectivity problems for other users. I removed Bonjour by following the guide here (http://www.x64bit.net/site/board/index.php?s=888c3f3673c453dcc972decd6e67e8e0&showtopic= 4214&st=0&p=40719&#entry40719) and reset the Winsock catalog (netsh winsock reset).
Unfortunately I still am unable to connect to that machine with remote desktop. These two machines are connected through a gigabit switch (nothing tricky at all) and it had been working flawlessly until I installed Photoshop CS3. Now when i enter the computer name in the remote desktop connection box and click "Connect", it shows activity (the colored bar moves) and then the connect button returns to its default state and nothing happens. No error messages or anything.
I have searched Apple's forums and found users on various message boards report this same issue, but none seem to have a resolution (aside from re-installing the OS, which doesn't resolve anything if you end up re-installing CS3). Is anyone familiar with this issue and found a solution? If so, I would love to hear it!
    Thanks!

I have the same exact issue right now. We purchased CS3 Master Collection and some - not all - of the machines are now refusing a RDP session. I looked in to the Bonjour service problem but it doesnt seem to be the issue. Other machines with the same service work fine.
    Anyone have an idea?
Has Adobe addressed this at all. I am aware that more than just the two of us have experienced this issue.

  • Macbook no longer connects automatically with my home network

When i travel and return home, my macbook no longer will automatically join my home network. Is there a way to make the current network your on a 'trusted' network or a default network to join via airport?

  • IMac Intel Core Duo no longer connects automatically to the internet

Since the OS 10.4.8 update my iMac will not connect automatically to the internet. It does show that it is hooked to my "preferred" network which is an Airport network but it will not connect to the internet. There are listed solutions but none of them work on my machine and there are others with the same problem. My daughter's iMac Core 2 Duo works just fine as well as my G4 iBook. I've removed all the listed networks from my list and added back the one I want, doesn't work. I made sure that Airport is at the top of the networks to try to hook to, no go. I'm starting this new post because the old one is marked "solved" which it clearly is not. Thanks in advance for any new ideas (actually I'm hoping Apple realizes this is still an issue).

ive been having problems with my inet. heres what will sometimes work but sometimes not, i wish i could offer a more solid workaround but i think it must come from the experts at apple in the form of a patch or similar software remedy.
when your inet acts up try this: unplug the power from your modem(i got an actiontec dsl with the lil antenna on back gt701-wg) i leave mine off for 1 minute minimum but that maybe overkill. i turn off my airport then shut down my apple 24". let it stay of a minute too to be on the safe side. i power my modem up and power the computer up. let the lights stop flashing on the modem plug in an ethernet cable from modem to comp and open safari. you may or may not get connected but wait until it either connects or gives you the cannot connect to inet. close safari unplug the ethernet cable. open your airport then wait till you see the black rainbows bars appear in the lil icon. open safari now and it should work. be warned this does not always work consistantly and it might open pages very slowly however it may give you download speeds of up to 700+kbps depending on the site and file size. i just did this to mine 20 minutes ago and it has been working perfectly again(knock on wood) opens pages fast and 5 bars on the rainbow scale without dropping off still. im not saying this is an answer but i hope it helps until a true fix is available. please dont be upset if it sometimes doesnt work because it happens to me like that too. i wish you the luck i had on mine today. happy early tday

  • My macbook pro no longer connects automatically to my wi-fi network

Does anyone know why or how to fix the fact that my macbook pro no longer automatically connects to my wi-fi network?

Delete all the preferred WiFi networks, and try making the current one the preferred network in your Airport Utility setup.

  • Updated OS to 10.4.7 and PPPoE no longer connects automatically when needed

Yesterday I updated from OSX 10.4.6 to 10.4.7. I have my network settings arranged to connect to the internet (via a DSL modem) when needed, i.e., when starting an application like Entourage. This was working fine with 10.4.6, but with the updated OS I now have to connect manually. I have double checked all the settings and also created a new location to see if that would solve the issue.
Any clues? I am wondering if this is a bug with the update, or a problem on my machine, although as mentioned it was fine under the older OS.
I am new to OSX, under OS9 I would simply try deleting the preferences for the network 'location'.

Problem with PPPoE not solved, but not an issue for me anymore as I have set an airport network which is creating automatic connections.

  • I am having an issue with my MacBook Pro. My Wi-Fi no longer connects automatically so I have to join my home network every time I start my computer.

My home network is at the top of my preferred network list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

  • Airport no longer connects on startup

It used to be that when I started up my computer I had it set to automatically connect to a specific network. In my Network settings that network is correctly entered into the proper field. Now it no longer connects automatically and I have to either retype it and click the "Apply Now" button or type it into the Internet Connect application and have it connect to the network from there.
I sure miss this feature! Does anyone know what the problem is here?
    Griff

OK, but as I pointed out, I already have the Network that I wish to connect to automatically typed in where it is supposed to be. And this has worked fine up until recently. Now to connect to the network, I have to go into: System Preferences > Network > Show > Airport where I empty the name of the Network and click on Apply Now. Then I retype the network name and click on Apply Now again and it will connect as it should have automatically after I logged into my computer.
Or, I can do the same thing in the Internet Connect application by selecting "Other" and typing in the name of the network and clicking 'OK.'
However, I have just discovered that I can accomplish the same thing by turning Airport off, then turning it back on. When I do this, Airport connects to my designated Network.
But the question remains, why does it fail to connect automatically when I startup my computer, and then log into my account?

  • My macbook air does not automatcially connect to wifi any longer when i turn on from sleep, how can i make it connect automatically again

My macbook air will no longer connect to my wifi automatically, I have changed the preferences to automatically selecr known networks but everytime i open the macbook air or after i restart the macbook, i will need to manually l select the wifi. How do I re-config to automatically connect to my wifi. Thanks

Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions. It's important to read the article carefully, as it's the starting point for any further efforts to solve the problem. If you skip any of the steps, the problem may not be solved. Make sure the box marked
Remember networks this computer has joined
    is checked.
    2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading
Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet
    3. Reset the PRAM.
    4. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    5. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
    6. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    7. Repair permissions on the startup volume.
    8. Turn off Bluetooth and test.
    9. Reset the System Management Controller.
    10. This step shouldn't be necessary, but has been advised by Apple Support in some cases, apparently as a workaround for a bug. Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences. If applicable, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner to unlock the settings. Enter your administrator login password when prompted.
Select the Power Adapter tab and uncheck the boxes marked
    Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    and
    Enable Power Nap...
if present. Then, if the computer is a MacBook, select the Battery tab and uncheck
    Enable Power Nap...
    11. Reinstall OS X.

My network used to connect automatically and now I have to manually connect. In Network Connections it doesn't show to be set up any longer so I set it up again but it will not save it after I shut down. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try loging into your router settings and just change the name of your network.  That usually works for me.

  • Why does iTunes no longer open automatically when iPad is connected?

Why does iTunes no longer open automatically when iPad is connected? and iPhone as well?  Setting to "auto open" is selected, but iTunes will not open automatically. Problem seems to have begun with upgrade to Lion.

Good luck getting an answer...I posted the same question a day ago.   I can only assume it's a glitch in iTunes 10.5.

  • Itunes no longer opening automatically when iphone connected

iTunes sees the iphone if I launch iTunesbut it no longer opens automatically.
could it be a preferences file problem?

Hmm if click the Apple >> system preferences >> users and groups >> login items, do you have itunes helper listed?
    You can also try this:
Open in Image Capture in /Applications with your iphone connected.  In the lower left, you'll see "connecting this iphone opens with" (if you don't see it, click the triangle/box icon to show it).  Click the menu >> select "Other" and navigate to itunes and choose that.  Quit Image Capture.
    Test.

  • Messages.app no longer connects to Jabber after App Store auto-installed Remote Desktop Update 3.8.2

Messages.app no longer connects to my company's Jabber server after App Store auto-installed Remote Desktop Update 3.8.2 (even though I never purchased that app). The Remote Desktop app can not be found anywhere on my machines.
I suspect the Remote Desktop update because Messages stopped connecting on my office MB Air after the update but still worked on my home iMac. Next day the iMac received the update and Messages stopped connecting on that machine too.
Messages attempts to connect for several minutes (it's been trying for 30 mins as I type this) and just hangs. Occasional I get the following error message:
Error: Messages lost the connection to the Jabber account 'account'. A network error occurred.
    I've tried:
    - Deleting and recreating the Jabber account in Messages.app
    - Toggling on/off SSL (SSL required by our server)
    - Toggling on/off auto detect server and port (port 5222 on our server)
    - Deleting every plist, cache, etc., I could find in the Library for any IM client I've ever used
    - Checked that Keychain trusts the Jabber server SSL certificate (it is a self signed cert)
    - Tried connecting from three completely different networks including the company VPN
    - Multiple PRAM resets
    - Setup a Google Talk account in Messages - works fine
    I'm at a loss...
    Kurt

I installed and setup Adium. Adium works but Messages.app still does not connect to Jabber.

  • Why is it that when i upgraded to ios 6, my ipad 2 no longer connects to known networks automatically

why is it that when i upgraded to ios 6, my ipad 2 no longer connects to known networks automatically?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
