CC Desktop says: "Sync incomplete", so... now what ?

Since a couple of days I get this disturbing red warning sign in my CC icon and panel, telling me that my "Sync is incomplete". Curious to know what triggers it and what to do about it, I hit the "More info" button, but it merely brings me to some status page with an "All Systems Green" parade. Well, thanks for worrying me, spoiling my time, and not helping me. What shall I do now, light a candle ?

    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    Start with these tips if your iPad mini is stuck on "syncing" when you try to back it up:
    Update to the latest version of iTunes.
    Plug the device directly into a high-power USB 2.0 port on the computer. If possible, use a USB port on the back of the computer.
    Avoid plugging the device into a keyboard, display, or standalone hub. The USB ports on these accessories may be low-power or only offer USB 1.x connections.
    If you are using an accessory, remove the accessory and connect the device to the computer using only the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or Lightning to USB Cable.
    If you have access to additional Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or Lightning to USB Cables, try testing with another if the first one doesn't work.
    Restart your computer and device. To restart your device:
    Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.
    Disconnect all USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then reconnect the iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect other USB devices, testing after each connection.

    Disk mode can be used for accessing the device as an external hard drive, e.g. to use to copy files from one computer to another.

  • Foxfire 6.0 add-ons manager not working, says "loading", get nothing, now what?

    Just received an update and some add-ons were disabled. Clicked on "Tools", "add-ons". Tab opens and says "Loading" but nothing loads and I can't do anything with add-ons manager. Is there a fix?

    Thanks for the suggestions. When you click on Tools and then Add-ons, theAdd-on Manager launches, and by default "Get Add Ons" is selected. Although I was not getting any response other than "Loading", if I then click on Extensions or Appearance or Plugins, I was getting a proper response from those three. After doing that and closing out Add-ons Manager and then relaunching it, my original problem disappeared. Now everything works fine. I tested it multiple times and is still OK. Can't explain it but OK for now. Maybe the Get Add-ons portion of the Web site was down at the times I was testing it? I'll keep a watch on it. Thanks for your speedy reply.

You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still dont see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new."

    I downloaded The Passage from Itunes and only part 2 of the book downloaded. I am on a tight schedule and do NOT want to pay another $26 bucks to download it again. Where to turn?? I leave town tonight and if I dont have the book by then, I dont really even want it- not often I have a 14 hour car ride!

    Look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the rest of the book there to be downloaded.
    If not, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find an "Email Us" button) and explain the problem to them. Whether they'll respond before you have to leave I don't know.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    I want to upgrade to Mountain Lion. I have 10.5.8 OS X now. The Software Update says there are no updates.But I need to update to the next level in order to be able to download Mountain Lion.
    So I go to Apple Support - they ask for my serial number - i type it in - it says "invalid".
    So now what? I'm stuck and Apple Support won't talk to me without the serial number.
    AARRGGGH.

    There has never been a free upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 Snow Leopard, so Software Update is reporting the correct information. Snow Leopard was a $30 upgrade, which you may be able to still get by calling Apple, in the US, at 1-800-MY-APPLE. Ask if it's still available from the legacy products list. Since Mountain Lion was released, it's been pulled off the Apple online store site. Or check Amazon or hardcoremac.com.

    Do the songs play in iTunes on the computer?

    Some text do look like they were final texts, that cannot be filled, but they are also place holders, for example the "Season's Greetings".Have you really clicked on each and every text, to see if they need filling in?

    If the update gets interrupted, it will resume where it stopped.  Shouldn't take near that long.

    I have done this on numerous occasions but I think that my Iphone has a defect. After many tries, reinstalls, deletion of content, changing content to be stored on external hard drive, deleting itunes and cleaning computer I managed to get all of the songs on and things seemed okay for a while.
    The problem returned about a week ago after downloading a new album from Itunes. I now have 12.5k of songs leaving 10gb spare on Iphone which should be more than enough room to operate properly. Last night it seemed to be dowloading ok (after doing all of the above again for the umpteenth time) this morning it revealed that it had just synched 2.5k of songs and 18gb of "other" on the contents bar. it wont synch now as it says its over capacity. So the 18gb of "other" would probably be corrupted data that means it must corrupt each song as it tries to synch it.
    The 2.5k of songs it did synch are working on the Iphone as is every song in the library on Itunes. I did completely delete the new album I bought and redownloaded it from the store then tried to synch just that album and it worked fine.
    Just about time to dump apple I think!
