CC desktop won't display apps

I have installed CC desktop on my MacBook Pro with Yosemite, but when I launch CC desktop the only think I can't see are the apps, the spinning blue circle keeps circling and nothing happens. I've tried almost everything, uninstalled the cc desktop, remove the folders from the library, all the hidden files were removed, reinstalled cc but nothing.
Please help!! I can't download any apps because the cc desktop is not displaying them.

Hi Shenna,
THank you for your help but I have tried everything in the book to try to resolve this but no luck. As you can see, I am attaching an image of what I get everytime, I have uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled using the adobe cleaning tool, reinstalled it, restarted my mac a thousand times...not literally but close, I have re-started in safe mode, tried and tried but all I get is the CC desktop showing no apps. I can see the Home section, I can see the Assets section and the Community section, but no apps. The never-ending blue sacred and annoying blue spin wheel never stops.
Any suggestions??

I"ve used the adobe clean tool to uninstall everything and then reinstall CC desktop and nothing.
Any suggestions? I've tried all week long to get this to work and no luck.
Any chances I'll be able at all?
    I need expert advice.
    Thx.

uninstall (again), clean (again, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6).
then restart your computer and install the desktop app, Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial.

  • Desktop won't display after login window

    Hi,
I'm trying to help my sister in-law with her computer (PowerBook G4). She claimed it was having a lot of problems and thought a clean install would fix things. However she had lost her install discs, and now I've seemed to make things worse.
I started by trying to back up her computer - copying the hard drive to an external HD. However I kept getting a -36 Error. I then connected her PowerBook G4 to my MacBook Pro (10.5.8 2.33 Intel) via Firewire and in Target mode used Disk Utility to make a disk image. Unfortunately I got the -36 Error again. I Repaired the hard drive with disk utility, but it said everything was fine. Then I read on the forum that the -36 Error meant that it was a corrupt file that was causing the issue. Since it always errored out in the same area, I simply deleted the folder in that area. After that, the disk image worked.
(This part is bad - I know now, but didn't when I did it:) I then put in the gray install CD from my MacBook Pro (Intel) into her PowerBook G4. I opened the system preferences and changed the startup disk from "Macintosh HD" to my install disk. I restarted the computer... it did not boot up. I connected the two laptops again and force restart in target mode. I was able to eject the CD so that when it restarted again, it reverted back to the "Macintosh HD" This is when I discovered that the gray discs are specific to computer and my plan would not work.
However, now her computer boots up to the Login window as normal... but when you login... the "blue desktop image with design" displays, but no icons appear. The computer hard drive spins, the monitor will go to sleep and wake up, the trackpad will move the arrow, but no icons and now menus?? I've left it overnight to see if it eventually will change, but nothing changes. If I press keys, the first few won't do anything, but it quickly gets to a point where it just beeps at me each time I press a key.
I can sign in using single user and already ran the fsck that is mentioned throughout the forums. It (like the disk utility) finds no errors. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi BD & RC,
The new user reset worked great to allow me to login again. Instead of doing a clean install, I just went through her applications and deleted ones that I thought could be suspect for some of the issues she was having. It seems to be running fine.... with one exception... the Airport won't work.
When I went into the Network settings, it was stuck in a continuous loop with the error "Another application has changed your network settings." I saw BD's help on another post to go into security and check "Require Password to unlock each secure system preference" to break the loop ( huge THANKS!!). After trying to set up multiple new locations, it finally dawned on me that the Airport was not an option. When went into System Profiler and chose Airport Card, it says "No information found."
So long story short... it appears that with all the little issues going on on this computer, the monster issue wouldn't have been solved by a clean install anyway (you were right RC)... the Airport Express card must have died.
I guess she'll either need to start connecting with an ethernet cable or buy a new airport extreme card.
Thanks for all your help guys!

  • Macbook pro desktop won't display via my viewsonic dlp projector

When I connect my macbook pro to my viewsonic projector, the projection image isn't my screen displayed.  If I take my web browser and move it to the left off the view of the desktop, it then becomes visible via the projection.  adjustments on the projector or the notebook display don't remedy the issue. Please help

if you want it to show the same thing on both screens go to system prefs>displays>arrangement(tab)>mirror displays (at the bottom left of this screen).
now you'll be able to mirror the displays and see what your laptop is showing and also the other way around.

  • Desktop icons won't display on Desktop

I recently installed a couple of what seemed to be interesting menubar items (MenuStrip and Isolator). Shortly after (not concurrent with) I lost the icons that show up on the Desktop of files in the Desktop folder. The files are all intact - nothing lost, they just don't show up on the Desktop.
I've removed these two applications using AppZapper, run the new DiskWarrior 4.1.1, repaired the permissions, run repair disk from Disk Utility, reinstalled Leopard from the DVD, and now I'm at a loss on how to bring back those icons.
I'm running OS X 10.5.5 on an Intel Mac Mini. I use a Newer MiniStack as my boot drive. If I boot from the internal drive (which is virtually virgin from the day of purchase), the Desktop icons from that user are displayed as they should be.
Is there someway to "rebuild" the Desktop or otherwise bring things back to normal?
    Thanks in advance,
    -Tod

    Added info:
I also recently tried using Path Finder 5. It also has been "shredded."
I was just poking around my Desktop and found that clicking on the Desktop itself while another app (say like Safari) is frontmost, clicking won't bring the Finder to the front. Sounds like something left over from Path Finder, though I deleted all its prefs using AppZapper.

This could be from having restrictions enabled. Icons completely disappear when "restricted"

  • Private Photos App - pictures not displaying This app was working fine, then suddenly it won`t display any of the photos.

This app was working fine, then suddenly it won't display any of the photos. One day the photos were there, gone the next. It still shows how many photos are there but just shows a white screen. I can't export anything to the photo album. Adding photos to existing folders yields the same result, only white screen displayed. However, I can create new albums and add photos to those without issue. Does anybody know how to recover the "missing" photo"  I was going to try reinstalling the app but it's no longer available in the iTunes App Store. Thanks, Tracy

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

  • Messages app won't display any windows

My Messages app (v 7.0.1) intermittently won't display any windows, not even the Preferences. I've tried reloading the app from Time Machine, but it won't let me replace an the current version.
    I'm running a Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon 3.2 GHz under 10.8.5.
    Any ideas?

    HI,
The Time Machine version needs to be the same version as is used in OS X 10.8.5
This will be version 7.0.1 which came with the OS X 10.8.2 update.
the Process should be to go to Applications and find the Messages app.
Then use the Time Machine icon in the Dock.
This will reduce the window and display the galaxy in the background.
On the right are the arrows and dates for moving "back in time".
The window should also have become "stacked" with those older versions behind.
Changing the date should file through the stacked windows until the process finds a change to the Applications Folder.
If you went back until a change in Messages you probably got the wrong version (or a version that will not work with a later version of the OS).
    Try this:-
In any Finder window use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that now appears in the Menu list
    Navigate to Preferences.
    Find com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and restart the app.
This .plist holds the windowing Info for the app.
I am presuming you have tried the keystrokes seen in the Window Menu of Messages ?
however it also holds all the info about the Preferences except for the accounts.
This means any change you have made from the Defaults will be reset.
The Messages section on Fonts and Colours is the most commonly changed.
All the Alerts will be reset if you changed them.

  • Safari, won't display any windows??

    Hi all,
Just went to use Safari only to discover it won't display any windows, of any kind. I've tried 'new window', 'new tab', 'open location/file' and it even won't open the 'Preferences' window!? It seems to be creating them as I can see them in the window drop down but displaying them nowhere...
It's the latest version, it's not assigned to a specific desktop and I've reduced the desktops down to one to make sure they're not getting 'lost' in another desktop...
    Any ideas?
    I'm using OSX 10.10 on a mid-2010 Macbook Pro.
P.S. while creating this post I've noticed I can't bring up the 'About This Mac' window either. The system Information app also isn't working!?????

    Permission repair spat this out:
    ===== Repair Disk Permissions =====

Group differs on "private/var/db/displaypolicyd"; should be 0; group is 244
    Repaired "private/var/db/displaypolicyd"

But had no effect on Safari...
Just to reiterate, the windows are being created but, for whatever reason, will not display (see below).
    Any other ideas anyone??

Difficulty using a projector. I have a MBP 17" and am running 10.6.8. Often I need to make a Powerpoint or other presentation  at a client and I want to connect my computer to their projector. Either it won't display on the projector at all. Once it displayed but the presentation mode was on the big screen and the presentation I wanted to show was on my MBP screen. I have the adapter( white ones) to attached to the projector cables.  I am so frsutrated...it looks so silly not to have a computer work during a presentation..
Another problem one the rare occasion that it shows on the screen is that the presentation does show just my desk top.  Any ideas?
    Thanks !

You often have to turn off Mirroring to be able to set the second "screen"s resolution to something reasonable. When you do, the two screens become an "Exceeded Desktop" joined along one edge, and the Arrange pane in displays prefs can allow you to specify what edge. Initially, it will show a vacant extension of the built-in screen's desktop.
The mouse moves freely across that shared edge, and can allow you to drag the presentation window across to the the projector screen and re-size it to fit.

  • PDF files won't display. Error message "Missing Plug-ins"

Hello. I am having trouble with adobe reader but only certain files. When I first signed up for school in may Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader were required and when I did the check plug-ins system check, both were installed and running just fine. Just in the past 2 days is the check plug-ins test saying Adobe reader is not installed. I have tried un-installing and re-installing but still saying it is not installed. I'm not having troubl with all adobe reader files. I'm an online student and my e-books are opening and displaying just fine. Also my pdf documents saved on my computer are opening just fine. When I try to view a websites brochure, a websites sale paper, or maybe open up an article, the page pops up but the image won't display. It keeps saying "missing Plug-ins". I have a MAC 10.6.8. running on Safari and I have downloaded Adobe Reader 10.1.0. I need to be able to open up articles because I'm doing a homework assignment that requires one. If u can help in any way, please do.

I've tried all the fixes listed in the discussions about missing plug-ins in Mail.  None of them worked.  I can see attachements in the emails, but when I forward them, the missing plug-in shows up in place of the attachments on the forwarded email.  I'm running the latest OS 10.7 on my Mac Pro and I just downloaded the latest Java app.  HELP!!

  • Messages won't display images, sandbox violation?

Can anyone help me figure out why, when I receive an iMessage that contains a photo or other image, Messages on Yosemite won't display the image? It appears to be a sandbox permissions issue, but I can't figure out how to resolve it.
Briefly, when I receive an iMessage that contains any image, the image displays just fine on my iOS devices, but in OS X Yosemite (10.10.1, build 14B25), it just shows up as a generic icon (attached at the bottom of this question). Clicking the icon or magnifying glass doesn't load it, double-clicking it doesn't load it, Quick View won't show it... nothing. If I look in /var/logs/system.log, any attempt to view it generates sandbox-related errors:
Messages[30820]: [Warning] Transfer: unable to create image for IMG_2758.JPG.jpeg
    kernel[0]: Sandbox: Messages(30820) deny file-read-data /private/var/folders/7l/cn4n4k4n4p31ncqq9qqk1klrydkmkm/T/IMG_2758.JPG.jpeg
If I manually open up that directory (/private/var/folders/7l/cn4n4k4n4p31ncqq9qqk1klrydkmkm/T/) I can see the image and open it myself, but Messages can't do it... and I can't for the life of me figure out how Messages's sandbox is configured and what is going on here.
This all happened when I upgraded to Yosemite; prior to Yosemite, everything worked fine. I've tried to blow away /private/var/folders/7l/ and let it get rebuilt, to no avail. I've also hunted for Messages's sandbox config file, to no avail.
    Help?
    Thanks in advance!
    Jason

    Hi,
    That does seem odd.
I mentioned the Containers things as this is the Read and Write route that the app uses (normally to the aliases in the /Data/Library/Preferences that pints to ~/library/Preferences)
I also looked in those places but for IDS, SOAgent and IMAgent that are also involved but no luck.
On your Console Location for the Var Stuff I have this
See Path Bar across bottom. This pic of Dec 1st I had to open in Preview.
A Different view if it helps
I am not sure what to suggest at this point.
