CC email  Posting Wrong Time = "Forward 8 hours" in iphone in-box timeline

*CC email Posting Wrong Time = Forward 8 hours in the future in the iphone in-box timeline.*
All email sent from my iPhone CC to myself (back to my iPhone in-box posted in blue) is wrongly posted 8 hours in the future. If I open that email and check the time and date in the email... the send time and date are both correct... But, the email in the in-box list on the iphone continues to display the wrong time and date "in blue" 8 hours off.
(1) I tried all the tips mentioned i.e.,Rebooting and turning 3G & Auto on&off & Syncing to my Mac etc.= with no change at all.
(2) The same cc emails also sent to my MacBook Pro all are posted in the iMail in-box correctly with the normal time. The only problem is... on the iPhone in the in-box.
All the clocks and time displays on the iPhone seem to operate normally. Time zones are correct... The only problem is the in-Box email: post dating my email cc to myself = 8 hours in the future.
*The Negative Problems caused by this Issue:*
This problem causes any mail from other senders to follow the email I send 8 hour and of that all new email is lost in the middle of time line. Which is not good and, easy to lose new important email in the time-line.
*Start of the Problem:*
Seemed to start sometime after I updated my iPhone to the new iOS 4 software

Looks like it happening with incoming mail too. I have emails that are reporting 5 hours ahead. That would GMT for me in Eastern Time in the US.
The mail below came in at 09:06 -0500 and is reporting 14:06 GMT in the listing.
Here's the header from the email

  • [SOLVED] Arch displays wrong time - 2 hours forward

    Hi.
After package upgrade today and reboot, my clock displays wrong time - it's going 2 hours too fast.
I didn't changed anything in rc.conf. BIOS clock is fine.
    I us localtime, timezone: Europe/Warsaw.
    How can I repair it?
EDIT: I just used date to re-adjust my clock.
Last edited by weakhead (2009-08-26 13:37:59)

Same Problem, solved by setting "localtime" instead of "local" in rc.conf.
I don't know what changed because it worked before. Maybe an update in scripts that did recognize "local" but doesn't anymore ?
    ++ B.
EDIT : [2009-08-24 13:37] upgraded initscripts (2009.07-3 -> 2009.08-1) that may be caused by that initscripts update !
EDIT 2 : It is the initscripts, I did not see I had a pacnew rc.conf

  • Scan to email sends wrong time

After setting up my 8600 Plus, I installed the Scan to Email app with all the correct input info.  The device is connected through my network and displays the correct time and date on the front panel.  However, when I send a "Scan to Email", it arrives to the receipent with a time stamp that is 7 hours earlier than the email was sent.  I've tried to reset the time and restart the 8600 but it still indicate the email was sent earlier than it actually was.  Any help?

I have exactly the same problem.  I have wasted 10's of hours trying to get this resolved since December when I purchased this printer.  I used the checkbox you suggested many times over the last months and it does not affect the time in the received email.  I have tried changing the timezone on my computer, using the checkbox on the printer web interface, and then resetting the timezone on my computer to see if I can affect the printers timezone.  The scan-to-email time does not change.  I had this same problem on my last HP printer (HP8500) and it was not ever fixed.  On that model, I could affect the timezone on the printer using the checkbox, but the best I could get is a 7 hour error and with the correct timezone on my computer the error was 14 hours.  I am in Mountain Tiime.  Also, why is there no timezone setting in the printer's LCD panel settings? I am very very dissapointed in HP for never addressing this issue across multiple printer models!  I have participated in multiple HP forums where we have been told that the problem is being worked on.  Several new firmwares have been released with no fix for this problem.  With my prior HP8500, I had been on the phone with HP tier 2 support and they verified the problem while I was on the phone, but a year later the problem was never addressed!! I  have managed complex high-tech product development programs and have managed engineering departments developing products at least as complex as these printers.  I would never allow a product to be released with a simple problem such as this, or if it was not caught during development, I would have it fixed immediately to keep my customers happy.  This is a simple firmware coding problem which shouldn't take more that a few hours to fix! It doesn't appear that HP cares about their customers anymore.  I have been buying and recommending HP printers for decades, but I may not be able to support HP in the future since they don't support me.

  • Email downloading several times on my G3 iphone

My emails continue to download to my iphone continuously.
My mail comes through my business server.
Is there a setting to have the emails only download one time from my server?
    Gary Turner

Yes, In the settings, Data fetch and you can choose to manually get mail or every 15 min. hour and some others.
I think this answers your question?

  • IPhone 4 shuts down on its own all the time. Sometimes restarts without ability to make calls, receive emails, and the wrong time.  Only a restore fixes it.  What can I try?

So my iPhone had a broken screen and back for a while, which may have something to do with this.  I mean like missing peices.  I realize this leads to corrosion and I may have a broken iPhone but this is a really strange problem.  It's always shutting off on its own, sometimes in my pocket while locked and sometimes randomly while in use.   For example the other day this started happening everytime I started safari.  This happens all the time, I usually just restart it and it works for a while.   Sometimes after shutting off a few times in a row, after restarting it will show the wrong time, screws up phone calls and says that it cannot locate the gmail server, or something to that extent (won't load emails).   The phone calls are weird, I can't receive any.   Any calls that are made from the phone, go through on the other side and ring for them, but won't ring or make a connection on my side, also I can't end the call when this happens, it responds to me pressing end by fading the screen to that graytone color that it does before ending usually but stays on that screen whenever you go back to it, only disappearing after reseting.  Texts work, not in iMessage, and internet seems to work.   The only thing that fixes this condition is a restore. The iphone has been turning itself off over the last 3 months and its been getting progressively worse.  Recently its been pretty bad, and then the phone started to do all that weird stuff I've been talking about.  That started about 3 weeks ago and has happened 4 times, the last two times relatively close together.   This is really annoying and I can't afford to replace it.   Do I have to live with it?   What can I try?  Should I maybe replace the battery?  I took the panel off to look at it and the plastic around it was pitted possibly from being really hot.

Please don't respond with useless comments.  I've already addressed the fact that my screen was broken a few months ago.  My phone may or may not be broken beyond repair either way, as I said before I can't afford a new phone.  It's a strange problem because from what I can tell no one else has posted the same problem anywhere I can find.  Don't be a dickhole.

  • I had to reformat my OSX 10.5.8 and i can't restore my emails from my time machine backup from an external hard drive - only the latest (post backup) time machine back ups are available to restore. Please can any help

I had to reformat my OSX 10.5.8 and I can't restore my emails from my time machine backup from an external hard drive - only the latest (post backup) time machine back ups are available to restore. Please can any help? I can find the mail folder in my libraries, but the Restore Button is grayed out

OSX treats the reformatted drive as a different one; it's the same as replacing it, and the old one is no longer connected.
See #E3 in  Time Machine - Troubleshooting to see and restore from the "old" drive.
And, you may not want to restore via the Finder; see the blue box in #15 of  Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.

Don't switch email providers. Switch to another email client on your Mac. It is not Yahoo. I have 3 Yahoo accounts and never have any problems getting or sending mail from/to those accounts. But I don't use the built in Mac Mail program. I use Thunderbird. I use thunderbird on both Mac OS X and Windows. Been using it for some time now with no problems getting my Yahoo mail, Google gmail mail or form my work email account.

Welcome to the Apple community TMOZINGO.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • Wrong time with emails

It just started recently. The times on emails our wrong but not the time on the iPhone. It seemed like it started when i implemented IMAP account through gmail and set them up on the phone. Do you know how to fix this?

    One thing to check out.
On the iphone go to settings -> general -> date & time.
Make sure time zone is set correct.
If so, turn off time zone support and turn off set time automatically.
Make sure the time is set correct on the iphone.
Turn the iphone off with the sleep/wake button on top of the iphone.
    Then try email again.
    Hope this helps.

    1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
    2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
    3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
    4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

  • My Mac Pro 2009 has the wrong time

I have an early 2009 Mac Pro 2.66GHz quad core Xeon processor, 20 GB RAM 2TB HD and a second 2TB HD for backup. Running OS 10.10.2. I have Parallels installed.
Starting with 10.9, I noticed that sometimes the clock was wrong. After the installation of 10.10, it seemed to get worse, although that may be unrelated. I have not seen my exact symptoms described in any posts related to this subject. Here is what I see:
I notice the time is wrong. It is never wrong by a certain number of hours. It can be off by 4 hours and 19 minutes and the next time 7 hours and 12 minutes. The day, however is usually correct. If I open the Date and Time control panel, the "Set date and time automatically" is checked and the Apple US server is chosen. The time is wrong. If I uncheck and then re-check the SD&TA checkbox, the time then corrects. However, a few minutes to hours later, the time will be wrong again. If I leave the Date and Time control panel open, the correct time seems to persist longer but eventually the time goes rogue. I even tried setting the time manually, turning off SD&TA and leaving the machine on without sleeping and it still became corrupted.
    I have tried the following
Obviously, set the time and date automatically
    Adjusting the time zones
    Rebooting
    Doing an NVRAM reset
    Resetting the SMC
    Reinstalling the OS (10.10)
Replacing the battery on the motherboard. When I removed the battery, I tested it and it was fine. I checked the position of the battery and it appears to be correct. It is the correct type of battery and fits perfectly into the slot. Just to be sure, I replaced it again.
Hitting it with a hammer (not really)
I saw some posts relating to the time zone being a problem, but the time is not off by an hourly interval, so that seems less likely. The one thing I thought was that perhaps Parallels is causing some sort of problem, but I could find no posts.
The machine is still great after 6 year. I use it almost every day all day. While this problem is small, it has large consequences because my calendar is off and I'm missing meetings, the time on my emails is weird, my file creation times are off and anything related to time is corrupted. I'm facile with Unix so if the solution involves the command line, so be it. I've had macs since a Centris 650 back in the dark ages 20 years ago but this one has stumped me.
    Thanks for any help.

You have done all the appropriate things.
There have been reports of odd bugs related to Date & Time when a group of non-standard settings was set (deliberately or "just because")  in the "Language & Region" Preferences.
I recommend you actively change those settings to a standard setting (that you do NOT intend to keep, e.g. Europe --United Kingdom), save Changes, close the Preferences pane, then re-Open, change to a standard set of Preferences (that you DO Intend to keep, e.g., Americas -- United States) save changes, close the preference pane, then check and reset the date&time and test. [If I have guessed incorrectly about your location in the world, no offense was intended.]

  • Some events appear at wrong time when publishing to web

When I publish my calendar and then view it on the web, events I have created myself in iCal are shown at the correct time, but any events I have recieved from Evolution (the email/calendar application my colleagues use) as an .ics file are shown exactly 8 hours later than they should be. Perhaps it's a coincidence that this is the exact time difference between the UK (where I live and work) and West Coast USA?
Just to make it clear: all events appear correctly in iCal and, if I send a subscribe email to myself and then subscribe to the published calendar, they also appear correctly in iCal. The only place where they appear at the wrong times is in the http://ical.mac.com/<username>/<calendarname> address, and it's only events that I have recieved via email.
Is there a workaround for this that doesn't involve asking my colleagues to change settings on their Ubuntu workstations? Perhaps it's a problem with Apple's ical website that they need to fix? Either way, it makes the business of publishing my calendars largely useless.

    Bernard Harte wrote:
It's likely that the problem is due to an incompatibility between the way that the two systems define time zones.
This is what I thought, but iCal itself seems to cope with this, whereas the .Mac iCal web server doesn't, which is a shame.
I suspect that you don't have time zone support switched on in the Advanced tab of Preferences. If you don't, try switching it on and then looking at one of your events and one of the rogue ones in the edit window. You'll probably see a difference in time zones - i.e. that the rogue ones are in US Pacific zone.
I switched on time zone support, but it didn't change any of the events in iCal at all; i.e., the "rogue" events still show at the correct time (and the incorrect time on the iCal web server).
If this guess is correct, you will need to get your colleagues to change their time zone since iCal and ical.mac.com are behaving as they should.
They are all on the same timezone as me - Europe/London (which is currently on DST).
If the guess isn't correct, report back and we'll work on a solution
Then I look forward to hearing from you!

  • Since Leopard upgrade Mail show received time 1 hour off

Upgrade to Leopard a few days ago. Now Mail shows email receipt time 1 hour off.
Example: I just sent myself a message at 5:19pm. Received it showing 6:19pm.
My system is set to CST. Why is Mail showing the wrong time and how is it fixed?

The same mail received in Entourage shows the correct time. It always showed the correct time in Mail until I upgraded to Leopard two days ago.
Thus, it does have something to do with the software not the server.
I can replicate it over and over very easily.
