CC Installer quits halfway through

MBP Retina 15" (10.10.2, 2.6i7, 16GB/500GB): I have downloaded the installer 4 times now. I launch the installer and it begins to churn. Progress bar gets about halfway and the installer just quits. I have restarted, run Disk Utility to repair both permissions and disk. Quit all other apps.
any suggestions?

Hi Jeff, it wasn't giving any of the error messages that prompt those instructions. Walked through it with support chat, and what worked for me was:
- delete /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater
- delete /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
- delete ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater
- delete ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
then re-run the CC installer, which worked this time.
Clearly there were other branches to the support script depending on how far the installer had gotten -- there wasn't anything to run the Cleaner on yet for me. So Jeff's page is probably a more general set of steps to walk through -- YMMV if you go deleting things...

  • CC Desktop installer quits halfway through

Every time I run the CC Desktop installer, it quits halfway through. I don't want to run the cleaner tool because I would rather not delete my CS6 applications yet, is there any kind of fix for this?

    Hi, lauradaveLaura Davis,
    Follow the below steps,
    1. Open Activity monitor from the Utilities folder under Applications.
    2. Check for Adobe processes such as Adobe Crash Daemon, Adobe CEF Helper, Coresync, Creative cloud, If you find them Force quit it.
    3. Open the finder window and press Command + Shift + G button.
It will open the Go to folder search box, in that type ~/library and then click on Go.
Then, go to Application support/ Adobe folder and delete the AAMUpdater and OOBE folders.
    4. Now, open the Go to folder search box again, in that type /library this time and then click on Go.
Notice that this time it is just /library and the ~ symbol is not included.
Then, go to Application support/ Adobe folder and delete the AAMUpdater, Adobe Application Manager and OOBE folders.
    5. Now, open the finder window and Press Command + Shift + U button.
It will open the Utilities folder, from there delete the Adobe Application manager and Adobe Creative cloud folder.
    6. Now, run the cleaner tool from the below link.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
In the cleaner tool, check if you have Adobe Application manager listed, If found select it and click on clean up selected.
If not found, close the cleaner tool.
    7. Install Adobe Application Manager from the below link,
Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager : Thank You
    8. Open the Adobe Application Manager app using the spotlight search, It will update itself and install the Creative cloud Desktop application.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,

  • LiveCycle ES2 installation stops halfway through the process

    Hi there!
I've installed LC ES2 before on my machine and normally without any problems.
Now I had to uninstall and install it again. So that I could do it from start, using turnkey, I even removed some items from Windows registry. This has worked before, more than once.
Now this is not working anymore. It always stops at the same place, roughly at 60% of the installation process. I wonder why. Some problem with Java?
Please, has anyone had this kind of problem before?
Thank you a lot for any hints!
    Marcos

I am not sure why you would have to delete reg entries from windows, but i have a couple of questions:
Was this failure duing the install process, i.e. at any point during the install? If not, was it during the LCM process?
If it was during the LCM process, at what point did it halt: was it during DB initialization, or component deployment? (I figure the EARs configured ok, since you mentioned at about "60%".
If you could share the server.log exception and the LCM log exception, that would help.
    Thanks,

I've spent many days creating a Photo Book using iPhoto and now I'm ready to order it! But twice now it quits halfway through the uploading process. How can I figure out what the problem is? I was really looking forward to see this project as a finished product.

Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • Updates stopping halfway through

    Hey everyone,
I'm trying to get the "GarageBand Instruments and Apple Loops" update for GarageBand which is 1.2 gb all together. The problem that I'm getting is that the update quits halfway through and when I try to do the update again it starts over. I think that I'm only getting this problem because my internet is as slow as it is but I'm not sure. Shouldn't it always be able to continue where it left off? Also, is there any other way I can get ahold of this update?

I'm trying to install Microsoft Office for Mac 2011. Halfway through the installation, the MacBook Air tells me that I must close Safari for the installation to continue. As far as I can tell, Safari IS closed. I can't discover any process that will close it any more than it is now. Installer won't let me shut down or re-start the computer because it (Installer) is still running.
    What am I missing?

The MS installer seems to think Safari is active so try the following...
Right-click on the Safari icon in the Dock and if applicable, select Quit.
    or
Try Utilities > Activity Monitor and look for Safari in the Process Name column.  If present, highlight Safari and then click the Quit Process icon.

Terminate Firefox from the "Processes" tab of the Windows Task Manager not the "Applications" tab. Then select firefox.exc and use the right-click context menu to "End Process" or use the "End Process" button on the selected process.

Cannot get the update on my iPhone 4.  It quits downloading halfway through every time.  Any suggestions?

SBerman- I am the only owner/user of the phone but thanks for trying on that angle.  It doesn't apply but I appreciate your idea.
KiltedTim- Yes, I have encountered an activation lock.  The Apple ID should be the one that I use when I go into itunes but that one is not working.  I even tried the Apple email/id I got when I first bought the phone years ago and that didn't work either.  It is asking me for an id that ends in @me.com and I have NO IDEA what this is or how to get it to "shift focus" onto one of the id's I do know.
    Does that make things clearer?

  • I am trying to export a movie through imovie using the share function, but each time imovie seizes up and stops working about halfway through the rendering process and I can't proceed and have to turn off the computer. Can this be fixed?

I am using iMovie and can't seem to complete a render of a completed project through the sharing/media browser. Trying to create a medium size movie that I can then access in iDVD to burn a DVD.
But each time I try, iMovie quits on me about halfway through the rendering process.
I have successfully used media browser to create other movies, but now it doesn't work.
Anybody know of any fixes or troubleshooting?
    Thanks.

When trying to troubleshoot my problem I discovered a forum that was saying certain NTFS drives work just fine
Apple support says that an NTFS or exFAT drive cannot be used when connected to the AirPort Extreme.
I suppose it is possible that someone might have been using some type of special software on the drive that might perform a "conversion", but without more details, it is hard to know.
Note: ExFAT and NTFS formats aren't supported.

i recently tried to remove widows7 on my macbook air using bootcamp and halfway through it grayed out .The windows 7 is removed but i cant free up the 62gig partition the windows was occupying on my 121gig ssd harddrive please help

You may have to see about using the Recovery HD partition to attempt to erase and restore useful function of the capacity lost to the former Windows installation.
And you may have to backup your contents outside the computer to do it. Disk Utility on the Mac OS X historically has not been able to touch a BootCamp created partition; so if BootCamp cannot remove it, then you have to see how to do the equivalent of a reformat of the entire drive (less Recovery partition?) then reinstall your OS X. Maybe from internet recovery, then get your applications, etc from the Mac App store, etc.
A complete system clone of your OS X on an external HDD would be another method to restore after reformat, of the portion you want whole again, not necessarily the space where Recovery may live.
    There may be (an)other way(s).
    Perhaps someone with recent experience
in this matter can reply & discuss options.
With my antiques, they almost know what I want before I tell them.
Hopefully yours will after you talk to it awhile.
    Good luck & happy computing!
