CC Installer will not install - spinning wheel (MAC)
I've had an installed CC on a desktop for many months now.
I have installed the Adobe CC on a laptop. However, the screen contains a endless spinning wheel.
The computer is indeed connected to the Internet. And I have used my correct credentials to sign in.
Any idea why the problem?
Photo_mikey please see Creative Cloud app doesn't open and hangs on spinning progress wheel - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-app-doesnt-open.html for information on how to resolve the current error which you are experiencing.

It's strange that you ran the cleaner tool and still didn't worked
you can try to login to Root user account and then run the cleaner tool , and then check. -
Camera Raw will not install on my mac,os 10.7.5. When I click on the install package the main install screen opens and that is as far as I can proceed with the down load. I have to force quit the software and try again. I have deleted and downloaded the software several times to no avail. I need some help.
Appreciate your help Ian and others. I have since uninstalled FCS and reinstalled FCXP only to get the same thing. Loading FCXP stalls at "Looking for Compressor Support". When I first downloaded FCXP from the App store I didn't notice that FCS was being placed in it's own folder. It's not something I did manually. Although moved into it's own folder with FCXP on the same drive. I was not able to open FCS apps. They would load and then "quit unexpectantly". They opened just fine before I downloaded FCXP. Do I need to purchase Compressor so that FCXP recognizes it? It seems this is where it stalls. It doesn't explain however why my computer "FREEZES" while doing this. I am in the process of re-installing Lion to see if this helps, otherwise I am at a complete loss.

This is not Apple like, the installer for AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion
will not install because it reports 10.8 is not supported. So how do I configure my older Airport ExpressAirPort 5.6 won't install under Mountain Lion, but it will run once it is.
Here are the basic steps to install version 5.6 under Mountain Lion using CharlesSoft's Pacifist:
If you haven't already download the AirPort Utility disk image file directly from Apple Support Download
Place the resultant AirPortUtility56.dmg file onto your Mac's Desktop.
Run Pacifist.
Click on the Open Package option. Find the disk image file that you just placed on your desktop, and then, click on Open.
The utility is located as follows: Contents of AirPortUtility56.dmg > Contents of AirPortUtility56.pkg > Contents of AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6.app
Drag AirPort Utility 5.6.app to your Mac's /Applications/Utilities folder.
You can now run the AirPort Utility from the Utilities folder. -
Installer will not install .pkg and .mpkg files.
Help!
My specs:
Machine Name: Power Mac G4 (AGP graphics)
Machine Model: PowerMac3,1
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.8)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 400 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
Memory: 640 MB
Bus Speed: 100 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
I lost my version of iTunes and attempted to re-install via free download off of Apple.com. Unfortunately, regardless of what version I attempt to install, my Installer will not run .pkg or .mpkg files. It bounces, then disappears without any results.
I do not have the Tiger disk - as my father gave me this computer a few years ago without it (as it was his old computer).
I am absolutely distraught without my iTunes and do not know what to do to rectify the situation with my Installer.
Can anyone help me please???Try moving:
Home (or your user name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.installer.plist
to the desktop and restart your computer. This file saves the settings for that service and may be come corrupt. Removing it from the Preferences folder will result in a new file being created with default settings. If this helps you can trash the file but you may need to reset other things covered by that preference. If it doesn't help you can replace the newly created file with the old one and restart to regain the old settings.
If that doesn't work you will probably have to copy Installer from your backup drive. You absolutely must have a backup, especially if you are going to try to survive without the Tiger discs (which are, strictly speaking, a legal requirement if you want to run Tiger). -
Itunes 11.1 will not install on my mac even after it restrts
I am having trouble ungrading itunes. I open itunes and it give me the option to upgrade and i do and follow through but it will not install even after restarting and everything.
Never accept or download a software up date that is not from an authorized Apple site. You don't know if any one tampered with the software if you d/l from another source such as a dropbox account.

I have a mid 2012 MBP with Retina display. When I try to install Firefox upgrades i Get the message that teh update will not be installed, are you running more than 1 copy of Firefox. This occurs no matter what I try even from a restart. Activity monitor only shows one copy of Firefox running
I reset Firefox to the default and that did not help, I started in safe mode and that did not help.Hi mike_bauer
If there is an issue with update or permissions the better, quickest and safest way is to '''download and install''' firefox:
1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
2. '''''Trash''''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.
see also: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-mac?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Installing+Firefox+on+Mac Installing Firefox on Mac]
thank you
Please mark "Solved" the answer that really solve the problem, to help others with a similar problem. -
I purchased the CS6 Master Collection and it will not install on my Mac.
I keep getting an Installation Failed message- It says Inconsistency in the installer database. I have tried restarting my computer but this does not help. My Mac is fairly new - about 8 months old and is running the OS X 10.8.2. Any ideas??
Great !!! now follow the below steps :-
1) Uninstall all the Adobe products ,
2) Run the cleaner tool
Delete the following folders :-
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
and then re-install the software. -
I recently lost all of my pictures, and now Iphoto will not loading spinning wheel?
I recently accidently erased over 7,000 pictures from Iphoto when I securely deleted them by accident and could not recover them. Now i'm starting from scratch by inserting my sim cards from my cameras to get the photos back, but everytime I click on Iphoto it doesn't load anything just black screen with spinning wheel, i understand i won't have any albums considering all the pictures are gone. I tried tie option command while opening and it didn't work. Do I have to redownload Iphoto totally? If i do can you explain each step in detail? Thank you so much in advance
Create a new Library. The only one was damaged by the mass deletions.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

Vista Ultimate SP1 (retail dvd) will not install on new Mac Pro
I wish to dedicate a new 1TB hard drive in Bay3 on a brand new Mac Pro for Vista Ultimate SP1, preferably 64-bit. I have tried several times to install a retail dvd version of Vista Ultimate with SP1 (both 32- and 64-bit) without success on two different hard drives (first the one in bay 3; then, after lack of success, the one in bay 4). The installation process does not proceed beyond the stage where Vista must format the hard drive. Vista always displays the message that Vista cannot be installed on a disk of the "GPT style." After giving up on the installation, the disk appears to Disk Utility as a "GUID" disk.
I am seeking advice from anyone who might be able to help me proceed. The remainder of this message provides more detail about what I have tried.
Before starting Boot Camp, I formatted the hard drives initially as MS-DOS FAT, and on later attempts, as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Neither matters. After several attempts, I verified the functionality of the drives by partitioning them using Disk Utility and then repartitioning to one partition. Both 1TB drives appear healthy and can be partitioned and re-partitioned.
When Bootcamp Assistant (BC) calls for the Vista disk, the Vista installation proceeds until the stage when Vista calls for me to identify a hard drive partition for installation. After selecting the largest partition on drive 2 (in bay 3; size 931GB) , the BC Installation and Setup Guide instructs me to "format" the partition. When I do so, the following Windows error message appears:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style."
Based on some forum comments, I also tried a different procedure at this stage of the Vista installation. Instead of choosing "format," I first chose to "delete" the selected partition. The disk then appears as "unallocated space." I then chose "new" and "apply" in the hope that it would create a correct NTFS partition for Vista. It then appears as Partition 2 of either Disk 2 (or Disk 3, which I tried subsequently). However, the subsequent "format" still yields the same error.
I tried both procedures with Vista 64-bit and with Vista 32-bit. No difference.
Suggestions most welcome. When I provided a link to threads about "Install Vista SP1 DVD" I knew and had in mind a couple threads where people have tried. And trying will help understand.
You don't need to format as NTFS on another PC when just installing MacFuse plus 3G driver extensions will let you do so on your Mac Pro. And that is just one option. There are always multiple ways to get to the same place.
Due to EFI changes there is a tool and tips on how to convert your DVD, but I didn't have time to go back and find and pull those together.
Installing SP1 DVD attempt without success:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1501656
http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/
MS OSCDIMG.exe
Yes, it’s a fairly long process and requires you to download stuff (and be running Windows in the first place) But, it does work as long as you follow the instructions correctly.
Convert DVD to ISO and prepare for EFI booting on Mac
tried rebooting about 10 times. No luck. Finally I pointed Parallels (free trial available) to my blank bootcamp partition and set parallels to boot from CD before HD. Parallels booted the Vista install CD just fine, and put Vista on my HD. Crashed at the end though and said it couldn't make the boot camp partition bootable so all changes were removed. Rebooted under boot camp and the installer came up fine off the CD.
So if you have this problem, and nobody else can help, and if you can find it, maybe you can download..... Parallels. Feel free to post this on the other threads. Unlike other workarounds I'm guessing this will work for everyone and it only takes a free trial download of parallels to give it a try. Still wish apple would acknowledge the problem and post a fix. Can't be that hard.
I think VMWare Fusion also supports vitualization with the bootcamp partition as the target so that may help you get around this install bug in boot camp(or the mac's firmware) too.
I would have thought that with Intel and Microsoft both saying they would begin to support UEFI with Vista SP1 64-bit, and Apple is part of the EFI Group, that "we're different" was a thing of the past. Instead it is harder.

Remember, Google is your friend (usually) - "Apple Vista SP1 64-bit DVD Install":
MacBook Pro Vista SP1 64-bit Install:

Oh, and while I read Apple KB changes daily, I have never seen anything address Vista SP1 64-bit install, support, etc mentioned once. Am I missing something? or is it MIA? -
New Printer will not install on my Mac
Hello,
I was hoping someone would be able to help me since I have searched the internet and haven't really found something that has helped. I used to have an old canon computer set up to my mac and it worked great until the printer died. I bought a new canon printer (MP270) and just plugging it in (like I did with the old one) did not work when trying to install it. So then I used the installation CD and my computer will still not recognize that the printer is connected to it. Anyone know what else I can try? I appreciate your help!Thank you for the advice. My brother recommended I try this first, but I guess he was wrong.

Windows 7 will not install on new Mac Mini
Everything on the installation works flawlessly... from partitioning, to formatting NTFS, to choosing (x32 or x64) version *I've tried both*.... I get the options to choose date and time prefs, passwords, etc..... then on the final reboot to fire up Windows... it hangs with a blinking cursor in the left upper.... never finishes booting.
This is on the new Mac Mini with 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, NVidia 320M GPU.
I have been able to get XP to install correctly, but I'd prefer running Windows 7 for the ability to read the extra RAM.Is this not the same like the black screen on the iMac?
With the iMac, we had to remove the ati drivers in order to continue. The steps I did with the iMac are as follows:
35. Boot from the Win7 install DVD.
36. Click Next
37. Click Repair your Computer
38. Select "Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier
39. Click Next
40. Click Cancel
41. Click Cancel
42. Click Command Prompt
43. > c:
44. cd c:\windows\system32\drivers\
45. del ati*
46. Close the command prompt
47. Click Restart
This time, Windows should successfully initialise a more appropriate display driver, allowing you into the desktop. -
Windows installer will not install ITunes 7 or Quick Time
I previously ran iTunes 4 with an earlier model iPod. Recently upgraded to iPod for video which was not recognized by iTunes 4. Attempted to download updated iTunes software and continue to be unsuccessful. Here's what happens:
I am able to download both iTunes 7 and QuickTime to my hard drive, but when invoke the respecive .exe files I get the same error message which reads, "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."I have never heard of the respecive.exe file in regards to itunes or ipod. Are you sure you followed the troubleshooting steps word for word? I've had some people read the follow, "Empty your temp folder contents" to mean delete the temp folder. You have to be careful to follow them closely. I still sometimes have to reread some steps only to find out I didn't read it correctly the first time.
With that said, how do you know its a windows installer problem? If you were installing itunes & QT using their standalone installers there won't be a file called respecive.exe for either. You should be launching itunessetup.exe to install itunes (which can possibly contain QT). I forget what the standalone QT installer is called but I know it isn't respecive.exe.
Here are the steps I suggest to people who have trouble installing itunes. Please read them over first and ask a question if something isn't clear.
1. Uninstall itunes and ipod software
2. Reboot your PC
3. Re-download the itunes installer and QT and save this installer to your desktop
4. Go to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations. You should see folders like {06EB3288-C5F4-4C73-8EEE-AC798668FF66}
5. Look in each of these folders for itunes.msi and delete the folder. Be careful to only delete the folders containing itunes, msi
6. Clean out your temp folders, Delete as much as you can in these folders except for the folders Cookies, History, Temporary Internet Files.
a. C:\windows\temp (if one exists)
b. C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temp
Sometimes installers will pick up old files or won’t delete their temporary files.
7. Go to http://www.download.com/3000-2094-881470.html and download the regcleaner. Unpack it and run it. This is a nice utility that will delete broken registry entries and create a file with them. This way if it deletes anything needed you can add it back. Note I never had to do this with using it for many years. Also it doesn't list XP but you'll be fine. I run XP on both.
8. Reboot your PC.
9. Now try to go and install everything again. I'd do QT first then follow with itunes. Remember to disable virus/firewall/privacy/web accelerators before launching the install.

Inserting rows and columns: an irregular IDCC procedure
