CC Library, How do you save Spot colors to it?

Every time I have a spot color and then save it to my CC library, it saves it as a web and CMYK instead. Is there a remedy? I ONLY use spot colors for every design and this is a little annoying.

You can't save it as a swatch.
It will only work if the color is applied to an object and you then save the object to the library.

For example, if I want to switch some applications on my iPod with those were on my iTunes Apps Library, iTunes will force to remove the apps that was on my device and sync the apps that I want onto my iPod. But once the app is removed from my iPod, its data will be erased too, so, for example months later, I want to put them back onto my iPod, I will lose all the apps data and games progress. So, I just want to know the way that people save their apps data.

Yo can't. apps are locked to the account thatpurchased them and in-app purchases can only be mad with the account that originally purchased the app.

IMovie crashed, lost project. How do you SAVE in iMovie? Where's the file?

Just spent 4-5 hours building a complicated movie from a year's worth of footage. At some point, iMovie crashed. I think I lost all those hours of creative decision making, since I cannot see the file when I reopen iMovie.
There is no "open" command in the file menu. There is no "save" command in the file menu.
This would imply that Apple was autosaving for me to save me trouble. Hmm. I can save in almost every program I use, and revert, and save versions.
How do you save a project in iMovie? I don't see save in the file menu, as has been the steadfast tradition of Apple applications since I purchased my first Mac in 1984. What in the blazes have you done with SAVE? It is so basic.
Along the same line, where is the project file located on my hard drive? I would like to open it. Since I assume you have been autosaving to somewhere, could you please let me know where my file is saved.

This just appeared to happen to me too. I tried clicking on the file in Movies/iMovie Projects. That didn't work.
Then, I made a copy of the file in a safe place. I noticed it was 2.2 MB, so something had to be in there. Next, I started iMovie and clicked the Project Library arrow. The project was listed there. I opened it and got back most but not all of the work. It lost a lot of my audio changes. Here's the thing. I worked until about midnight, and then left iMovie up and running til noon. You would think it would have autosaved the changes by the time I came back. I suggest making your own copy of the file now and then, just in case.

How do you save photos from import or photo stream to an album? I have a MacBook Air (which keeps telling me my start-up disk is full) and I am trying to organize photos so there aren't duplicates and triples. I have photos in events, last import, photos and albums....I feel like they are all taking up space. If I move a photo from photo stream to an album, then delete the photo from photo steam its deleted from the album. That doesn't make sense to me. There should be a way to clean up photo stream, and events, and last import by putting photos into albums. Even more bizarre; I imported photos from my 4S, and only a fraction of them transferred over.
I am completely lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Only the photos you are seeing in the events and the Photo Stream will take up space. iPhoto stores each photo only one. After you import it, it will be assigned to one event.
Then you can use it in many albums and projects. Using the photo this way will only reference the one single copy of the photo in the event. The albums don't store the photos and do not require additional space. If you delete a photo from an event, it will be removed from all albums that have been using the this photos.
What you are seing are not actually duplicate photos but different ways to access the same photos.
The "Last event" is the same event as the last one you imported. It is there for a quick access to your recently imported photos. Photos is a quick access to all photos in your library as an endless stream of photos. These are also no duplicates.
So if you want to save space and delete photos, do that by browsing your events. Deleting a photo from an event will delete the original image file and remove the photo from all albums, books, and other products. You have only duplicate photos, if you are seing the same photo twice in an event.
Even more bizarre; I imported photos from my 4S, and only a fraction of them transferred over.
That is a different problem, but it may be related to to fact that you need to free space.
If you get a warning, that the system needs space, don't do anything but update the backup of your mac and move files to an external disk to free space.
It is not save to keep working, when the system is running out of space.
How much free space do you have? Anything below 15GB free space is really critical.

Prabudass, If you are just wanting to see if the illustrator file uses spot colors - run the Delete Unused Panel items from the default actions. then view the swatch palette in small or large List View. The color names that have a square containing a gray circle (spot) to the right of their color names are spot colors. You first have to format the External drive as Mac OS Extended. This can be done with Disk Utility which is located in the Utilities Folder inside the Applications Folder. Once formatted as a native Mac OS drive, iMovie will allow you to 'turn on' the visibility of the external drive. Make sure to make the hard drive visible in the Events Library by going to the View Menu > Group Events by Disk. In the Projects Folder you should also see the same drive.
Drag your Project folders to the external drive icon in the Project Library. Also drag your Event Folders to the external drive (but make sure to drag it to the icon that is visible in the Event Library, don't drag it to the Project Library drive icon).
This dragging operation will 'duplicate' your Project Folders and Event Folders on the external drive. So to make space on your internal drive, always delete the original folders AFTER you make copies of them on the External drive. In the future when you are importing video into a New Event, make sure to choose the external drive as the location for the the New Event folder. Similalrly create a new Project Folder in the external drive location in the Project Library.
iMovie doesn't have save menu, it auto-saves in the background continuously as you work on the Project. That way you don't lose any work by forgetting to save the project.

"Import SIM Contacts" under settings-so how can you save to SIM card?

Update took several hours and afterwards, contacts as well as internet bookmarks and map bookmarks are gone. However, the pictures under the camera icon remain. How is that? Are they on the SIM card? Apps you can re-download for free. SMS's are part of the iPhone backup, they would have to copy that folder to a thumb drive along with your photos, calendar & contact database. Your iPhone backup is located here:

Regarding your contacts & calendar, you'd have to first export them to the thumb drive, then copy to the proper location on the computer you intend to use. Same with your iphone backup & pics.

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.

For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. If you reformat the player you'll be erasing all the flash memory. There is no way to avoid re-downloading your content since it isn't going to reappear by magic.
Normally the PC you use as your primary media library has a copy of all your ripped/downloaded stuff already. I don't see why you're opposed to syncing it back to the player after you reformatting. ?Regardless, if the player isn't frozen or otherwise misbehaving you should be able to drag-and-drop copy to contents to a handy PC with enough space. If you have DRM-controlled content at minimum you'll have to re-sync the associated licenses to make them play again once you copy them back since you can't retrieve the DRM keys off the player. It probably won't prevent you from copying the encrypted files themselves although it may; DRM systems almost uni'versally support a "No Copy" flag for content on the player to prevent copying it back the rights holder chooses to flag the content that way.
If you're just updating the firmware of the player the contents are unlikely to be damaged in the process (but it is always good to have a backup just in case).
If your player isn't misbehaving one is left wondering why are you want to reformat it's Doing a "clean up" will often fix most issues of corrupted files and mangled metadata.

I have an image that the user has rotated, scaled and clipped etc. How do you save the transformed image?
There are solutions of the forums but these use the System.Media.Imaging library that isn't available, classes like the TransformedBitmap etc. are not available.
I'm playing around with this approach but the decoder throws a "The image format is unknown";
imageManipulation is UIElement.Image.

You’ve a bit of a learning curve ahead of you as you obviously haven’t really understood iPhoto, what it is and how it works. You could do yourself a favour and have a look at the tutorials at http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#iphoto
To specific cases:
When you press "done" it doesn't save it (find the photo in its original file and open it with Preview, you'll see it hasn't been saved).
Yes, but it has! You see iPhoto will always preserve your Original file. So when you make edits it carries out these on copy of the file. You can see this in the iPhoto Window. There is no way to make iPhoto edit the original file.
I have opted for iPhoto not to duplicate my photos and keep its own library (to me that doesn't make any sense, my photos are about 15GB, I wouldn't want them to turn into 30GB for no reason!),
1. The best solution for that it to allow iPhoto to copy the files into the Library and then remove your own copies.
2. When you go to iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck 'Copy Files to the iPhoto Library on Import', you are running what is called a Referenced Library. In a Referenced Library iPhoto will not copy the files on import, but rather simply reference them on your HD. To do this
it will create an alias in the Originals Folder that points to your file.
It will still create a thumbnail and,
if you modify the pics, a Modified version within the iPhoto Library Folder.
However, you need to be aware of a number of potential pitfalls using this system.
1. Importing and deleting pics are more complex procedures
2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them on systems prior to 10.5 and iPhoto 08. Even with the later versions issues can still arise if you move the referenced files to new volumes or between volumes.
3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
Always allowing for personal preference, I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organisers.
If disk space is an issue, you can run an entire iPhoto Library from an external disk:
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're concerned about accessing the files, there are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 Only*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Because you told it not to. When you run a Referenced Library +you are responsible for File Management+. Remember that bit above where I said

You need to put the files where you want them, then import them to iPhoto. Iphoto has no control over any file outside the Library Package. So when it comes to deleting things you’ll need to remove the pics from iPhoto and then go and root them out from your folder structure by hand.
None of this is the case if you run a Managed Library.

What do you mean by a “virtual library”?
and in a year's time I change laptops I run the risk of loosing photos as I won't know which photos are were (now I can do a back up to an external drive simply by copying the folders I choose from the pictures folder.
If you run a Managed Library then backing up and migrating are both very simple. You simply back up the iPhoto Library or move it as the case may be. There are many, many back up utilities that will do incremental back ups if the Library: Time Machine, DejaVu Chronosync are several but there are a hundred more. Search on MacUpdate.
If you run a Referenced Library you must +back up the Originals and the iPhoto Library+ (to get your Albums, Modified Versions and so on). Migrating rto a new machine is a bear too, as you cannot allow the path to the files to alter. (See my pitfall no. 3 above.
Worst of all: a mixed Managed/Referenced Library: a recipe for data loss.
My strongest advice to you is to start over with iPhoto. Create a new Library: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library' and import 100 pics into it and explore it for a week or two. Get to know the ins and outs a bit and se how it works. Then decide if it’s the right app for you. By all means post back if you need more info.
