CC Particle World

Hello,
I am having some issues with using CC Particle World. I can't seem to get the particles to appear on my screen. I move the timeline to get the particles to appear but nothing shows up.
The 1st image is what I am trying to achieve and the second is my screen and what I am stuck on.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

WEll, you have a comp that's only 10 frames long Running at a meagre 1 fps. That's not going to be useful for any kind of physics-based simulation...

    Thanks in regard.

    Nope.

  • Quick dumb question - Pre-running CC Particle World?

In Particular, you can pre-run your simulation so particles are born before time 00:00.   Is there a way to do this in Particle World? I seem to be missing it.

Pre-Comp the CC Particle World layer, then nudge it in time?
Of course, you loose the "camera awareness". You could have it by linking a camera inside the Pre-Comp with the main camera outside.
I am not aware of a built-in method.

  • Any news on CC Particle World not working on the new Macs?

I discovered to my horror that CC Particle World doesn't work on the early 09 Mac Pros. Something about Adobe stuff not fully workable with the Nehalem processors. Any news on a solution?  I need my particle world!

We're working on an update that will address this issue. Here's a link to a Technical Support knowledgebase article that says essentially the same thing now and will be updated with more information when we have it.

  • CC Particle World 3D not working properly on After Effects CS6

The CC Particle World's 3D functions doesn't seem to work properly to me.

    My Project:
The particles aren't 3D on After Effects CS6 to me? :/

I don't follow. The particles were never "true 3D" to begin with - not in Andrews tutorial, not in any version of AE. It's just an illusion and layer stacking order is all that matters. The particles only exist inside their own little 3D universe.

  • Can't edit Opacity Map in CC Particle World After Effects CS6

For some reason I can click the and adjust the Opacity Map in CC Particle World. Normally and I click i nthe box and adjust the curves, but nothings working right now. This has never happened so I dont know if this is a glitch or if I inderectly changed a setting or somtething. Appreciate the help.

It's a bug. We're working with the Cycore folks to get a fixed version of this plug-in for the next bug-fix update.

  • Query CC Particle World...

    Hey,
I am new to After Effects and am currently playing around with a 30day trial of AE CS4. Having followed some video tutorials online I want to practice what I have seen, in one it describes how to use a particle generator. In the tutorial it shows how to use CC Particle World, saying this preset should be in the Effects and preset menu. But I can not find it, its not coming up. Could you please give me some direction.. Does this need to be installed seperately? Would it come ready with a full version of AE CS4, and its not in my one because its a trial?
    Many thanks in advance!

As explained - licensing reasons prevent some content from showing up in the trial. You're lucky, though, as there is a demo of Cycore FX HD. It contains al lthe effects, it just renders some ugly green crosses so you can't use the output. Also be aware, that it has some enhancements here and there compared to the version that ships with AE, so be careful to not use these extended options or you may not be able to open your projects once you have bought AE CS4.

  • Adobe After Effects CC Particle World Problem!

I have used CC Particle World millions of times, but suddenly it stopped having the options category in the effects controls. I would really appreciate any advice on why this has happened.

  • AE CS5 "Options" for CC Particle World

In CS5 the "Options" button is gone. I already know that features like floor and stuff are in the plug-in, but what about motion blur?

I can't seem to find the control settings in Particle World that will prevent particles fading in as they are born and fading out as they die. I can't get them to stay opaque throughout the length of the scene. This causes semi transparent particles to pass by the camera. In addition, particles that are further away from the camera appear in front of particles that are closer causing a surreal effect.  using a Custom opacity map improves things a bit as far as opacity goes but then causes some ugly and unnatural particle intersections

  • AE CS3 - Lost "CC particle world"

So, I was working on a project and I went to save it, and it said:
After Effects error: missing data in file.
    (33 :: 4 )
I was confused and upset at first, but then I went to search for particle world in my plugin search feature and noticed it wasn't there.. I didn't delete or anything. The file had never been saved before either..I'm not sure how to redownload it or if that would even solve the problem.
    Help?

I have mcAfee, and in the title is AE CS3, so it's CS3. I'm using Vista Home Premium.
As I said, this was my first time using Adobe After Effects, and I know 100% that I used it. I started a new project, using it, and then I went to save it and it said that. So I tried opening it, and got that message.
I checked in my plugins folder and it wasn't there either.
If you all can't solve it from here, I'll save you some work and reinstall, but hopefully this post will help you all.

  • Re-Install Lost Plugins such as Particle World?

Hi everyone, while deleting unwanted plugins and files from my computer, I accidentally deleted all the cycore plugins and effects, such as particle world, which all come with After Effects CS4. I was too dumb to go through my trash before I emptied it, and I fear the file may be lost. Is there any way I can get these files back?

Only a full re-install will bring them back. There is no way to access and extract them separately.

  • CC particle world expression: link to title position

    Hi there,
All I'm simply wondering is how to link the cc particle world producer position points to the position of a title I want the particles to follow. I tried pick whipping the producer position x to the title position and the following expression (on the position x of producer in cc particle world) was created:
    thisComp.layer("TEXT").transform.position[0]
    This makes the particles disappear.
Any ideas as to why this is happening. In the Andrew Krammer tutorial I am following it works for him, although he is using particular.
    Thanks heaps!

I use PW often to track other layers. I do not use an expression, though, I just parent the emitter to the motion path or mask shape/position. I am most often outlining text objects or doing the ol' laser carving in combination with Shatter. in that case, I parent the Shatter force sphere to a null that is tracing the outline path and parent the PW emitter to the same null. Easy and direct and very cliché.

  • Particle World particles misbehaving

I'm flying a 3D camera around a comp with a particle world layer that's just not behaving itself very well.  I'm hoping one of you might be able to help me bring it into line.
There are points where the particles will suddenly "jump", instantly moving drastically - sometimes for a single key frame, some times assuming a new position altogether and remaining there.  I've noticed the single frame jumps coincide with camera keyframes, whereas the permanent jumps don't coincide with any other changes in the comp at all.
Another perplexing problem - on my final camera move the particles don't move at all!
Any ideas on how I can make these particles just do what they're supposed to?

Particle problems at the following time codes:
    6:00
    7:08
    9:04
    9:05
    9:12
Then, notice the particles don't participate in the final camera move at 11:00.
Here's a screen shot of the project with all the keyframes on the timeline and the particle world effects panel on the right.

  • Particle world problem

Hello, so I'm trying to work particle world and the effect is all of a sudden really small. When I apply it, It's a tiny spec of sparks in the center of the screen, and I can't seem to get it back to the way it was. I want to change it back to this: http://www.studiodaily.com/images/articles/5800_1135877205.jpg  Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Mylenium,
I'm really new to After Effects, so I'm still getting used to it.
    Thanks again,

  • AE cs6 crashes when adjusting opacity map in CC Particle World.

It shows this message. Every value was default in the cc particle world effect other than opcity map. The program crashes while adjusting or drawing on the map for a few seconds.

I'm getting almost the same error.  When I try to draw on the opacity map, it crashes.  However, I have gotten 2 different error messages when trying to reproduce it.  One says: "After Effects error: crash in progress. Last logged error message was: <55756> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making New Context"  The other one says the same thing up to "last logged error message was: <51356> <Dynamic Link> <5> C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe".
I don't know why it's referring to Premiere, because it's not running, and I did not create a dynamic link from a Premiere project.  The AE file was created from within AE.  I will definitely be filing a bug report, but just wanted to mention this.
