CC Shared Review using WebDAV not working on IIS

I have a WebDAV IIS 7.5 server using basic authentication and I'm trying to use it with Acrobat 11.0.07. Acrobat creates folders on the WebDAV server but at a point after that and before the pdf has completed setup, Acrobat fails to authenticate.
I have Charles setup and I can see the traffic and see the authentication work but then it appears Acrobat stops using the Charles proxy. It's at this point I sniff the packets see the server request authentication but Acrobat doesn't authenticate.
Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? What I can check?
Thanks
Doug

Try using "Basic Authentication" as a test rather than Digest or something else.

  • Shared review using Sharepoint 2010 Foundation

    Brief description *
    Sharepoint for Shared review
    Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible *
    Shared review using server acrobat.com works fine. However, when using Sharepoint as server the testing fails and it is not possible to finnish the set up of the shared review.
    This is pictured in(bild1.jpg.) As the return code is Status: undefined it is not possible to proceed.
    However, when looking into the sharepoint site a file called com.adobe.acrobat.sharepoint has been created as shown in attachment2 (bild2.jpg)
    When this file is opened it contains the following text written by acrobat; Testing Writeablility
    It seems like the test has been done sucessfully but that Acrobat is not able to read/understand that.
    My Acrobat 9 is swedish version but the 'Testing Writeablility' is in english regardless of if I create a Sharepoint site in swedish or english.
    Please help me out.

    The login names of the sharepoint server is not controlled by my organisation. Sharepoint is hosted.
    At the time initiating the review when Sharepoint is presenting possible locations (shared documents libraries) for the review then I need to login
    using credentials very much diffrent from the windows credentials.
    They are of course also diffrent from the identity that Acrobat itself is carrying from the acrobat.com?
    This situation is the same for for the reviewers that has no problem.
    regards
    PS do you have a suspicion that windows credentials or Acrobat credentials are thrown automatically at Sharepoint although I have logged in
    at the time of finding possible review location.

  • Shared Review Publish function not available

    I'm using Adobe Pro 9 (9.2.0) to create a Shared Review using a network folder.  I am able to create the file correctly and SOME people are able to use Acrobat Reader 9.2.0 to Publish comments.  The Publish function does not show up in Acrobat Reader 9.2.0 for many people and they are only able to save a copy.  This isn't really using the Shared Review function at all.
    How can I enable the Publish function to work for everybody on the Shared Review file?

    I found the solution and thought that I'd post it.  This question seems to come up, but never seems to get answered.  Here it is:
    If you're having this problem with Adobe Pro, then update the following registry entry:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Workflows ] “bEnableWorkflowPart”=dword:00000000 to 1
    If you're having this problem with Adobe Reader 9, then update the following registry entry:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Reader\9.0\Workflows ] “bEnableWorkflowPart”=dword:00000000 to 1
    Hopefully, this will benefit somebody and save them hours of time and frustration chasing Forums that never get resolved.

  • Shared review using internal server

    Hello - I am using Acrobat 9 Pro on Mac OS X Version 10.6.8, and experiencing difficulties with shared review PDFs, a tool that I have used frequently in the past with our internal servers.
    I don't believe it's an issue with our server, as the other designer who uses shared PDFs is working with the same system and software, and  hasn't experienced any difficulty with creating and viewing comments on shared PDFs.
    Some of the errors I've been receiving are:
    "Acrobat cannot connect to the Review Server"
    "Could not get new comments. One or more files are missing on the server."
    Is there a preference somewhere for shared review PDFs, & server preferences for Acrobat, that I should check?

    Can you find any additional information in the Acrobat Tracker?

    One instance of Livelink 9.7.1 has utilised Adobe Acrobats ability to send and collate data for reviewing documents via Shared Reviews. This instance of Livelink require a username and password to gain access, and Acrobat asks for these credentials and all works as it should.
    There is however a configuration/authorisation issue when trying to connect to another instance of Livelink using the WebDAV URL in Acrobat, Acrobat doesn't seem to authenticate with this instance, this instance of Livelink uses Single Sign-on with our network domain Active Directory.
    This is the error we are getting: -
    Has anyone else come across an issue when using WebDAV in this manner?
    We are using Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Thanks

    By server information, I mean the server type (webDAV/SharePoint/Network folder/Acrobat.com) on which you initiate the review in A9. What option do you choose during shared review initiation?
    What is the error message that you get on opening A9 created files in A10? Can you send me one such testfile at ambooATadobeDOTcom (the one created in Acrobat 9)?

  • WebDAV not working over SSL on CSS11503

    SOME HISTORY
    As you may recall we had an issue with interoperability between our WebCT Vista application and the Cisco CSS11503 Load Balancer. In a nutshell the Load Balancer would inject custom HTTP headers into HTTP packets, but only into the first HTTP packet of a TCP session. With your help we've learned that Cisco will change this in the August release of the CSS software.
    OUR NEW PROBLEM
    We are now having a related problem. In short, we cannot get WebDav to work over SSL. That is, when connect from Client to Load Balancer via SSL, and then Load Balancer to Web Server via plaintext, our application fails. Conversely, when we maintain a clear text connection straight through from Client to Web sever WebDav works.
    After doing some network traces of WebDav connections both with and without SSL I think we've discovered the cause of the problem: the Load Balancer fails to add our custom HTTP header "WL-Proxy-SSL: true" to HTTP "PROPFIND" requests, even though it correctly adds them to the HTTP "OPTIONS" requests.
    HOW WE CONFIGURED THE LOAD BALANCER
    We configured our Load Balancer with the Global configuration of
    http-method parse RFC2518-methods
    and with the command
    ssl-server 20 http-header static "WL-Proxy-SSL: true"
    so that the header "WL-Proxy-SSL: true" will be passed with the HTTP headers used for WebDav was well as with the 'standard' HTTP headers "GET, POST, HEAD", etc.
    Below is the relevant passage from the "CSS Command Reference" at
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/webscale/css/css_750/cmdrefgd/cmdgloba.htm#wp1432749
    ======================================================================
    "By default, a Layer 5 content rule supports the HTTP CONNECT, GET, HEAD, POST, and PUT methods. Unless configured, the CSS recognizes and forwards the following HTTP methods directly to the destination server in a transparent caching environment, but does not load balance them:
    OPTIONS, TRACE, PROPFIND, PROPPATCH, MKCOL, MOVE, LOCK, UNLOCK, COPY, and DELETE.
    When you enable the CSS to support all RFC-2518 methods, the CSS parses the Request-URI field in an attempt to match a Layer 5 rule. If the contents of the Request-URI field are not in a compliant format of an absolute URI or an absolute path, the CSS tries to match the field to the next best wildcard ("/*") rule. If the match fails, the CSS attempts to match the Layer 4 rule, and then the Layer 3 rule."
    ========================================================================
    I interpret this to mean that when we configure "http-method parse RFC2518-methods" that the load balancer will treat all the HTTP headers in the group "OPTIONS, TRACE, PROPFIND, ...", etc the same as the "standard" HTTP headers "GET, POST, HEAD", etc.
    As I said earlier our network traces show that the "WL-Proxy-SSL: true"
    header present in the HTTP header OPTIONS but *not* in the header "PROPFIND".
    A BUG IN THE CSS COMMAND PROCESSOR?
    By my reckoning, this behaviour must be a bug in the CSS Command processor, because whatever the CSS does for the "OPTIONS" header it should also do for the "PROFIND" header.
    ATTACHMENTS
    I've included three attachments.
    trace.txt
    - text output from Ethereal of the network trace
    on the web server, with comments.
    webdav.ssl.snoop
    - the original network trace in Sun's 'snoop' format.
    css.2.cfg
    - the running configuration on the CSS11503
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi
    I finally discovered what is the issue here. In appears that in case of unsigned applets, the code is unable to access SunJCE provider which contains most of the ciphers used by SSL protocol. This means that a session with SSL server is broken and effectively applet is not initialised.
    This problem is related to configuration of JRE under linux due to export control restrictions. Unfortunately I don't know how to make JRE to use SunJCE by default.
    As a workaround I have set up the following policies using Policy Manager:
    grant {
    permission java.security.SecurityPermission "putProviderProperty.SunJCE";
    grant {
    permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getProtectionDomain";
    grant {
    permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "accessClassInPackage.sun.security.*";
    I don't know how insecure my actions are, but this definitely fixed problems with applets under SSL / HTTPS.
    Feel free to send me your ideas how to fix this issue in more elegant way.
    Best,
    Marcin

  • File sharing with MBP does not work

    The problem is that I cannot connect to my first-gen MacBook Pro from my 2 Ghz Intel iMac in my own home network. I have tried opening all ports in the sharing menu without success. The laptop shows up in the finder window but no connection is made. There is not even an error message. It simply says (after a long while) that the connection failed. Nothing even happens when I try to click on the "connect as" button. This is true for file sharing and screen sharing. I can connect to the iMac from the laptop, ironically enough. I was able to connect both ways at one point. My set-up is as follows: airport express connected to modem/router; iMac and laptop connected wirelessly to airport express. Any ideas would be great. I am at a complete loss as the laptop has no other connection issues of any kind.
    Update: I just got an error message for the first time: The server may not exist or it is not operational at this time. Check the server name or IP address and your network connection and try again.

    Connecting via "connect to server" in finder menu using afp does not work either. FYI. It just tries connecting for a long while and then gives me the following error (-36). The finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "afp://....." could not be read or written.

  • Captivate 3 - Continue and Review Quiz Button Not Working

    I have just published a SCORM course in Captivate. It works perfectly fine once I've uploaded it into the LMS except one small part. I've set up the quiz so each learner is required to pass the quiz in order to complete the module. At the end of the quiz, the results page appears with two buttons (Continue and Review Quiz). Those buttons don't work.
    I set up the quiz so that learners have 2 attempts to successfully complete it. If they're unsuccesful, the continue button should direct them to the beginning of the quiz so they could retake it. If they have successfully complete, the continue button should take them to the next slide. That's not working. For some reason, the continue button only works if the learner has failed the quiz. The Review Quiz button also doesn't work. I did select the option allowing them to do so. Can someone please help?

  • Request Scope for portlets? Sharing data tutorial does not work for portlet

    I created 2 identical applications, one that was a regular JSF web app, and one a JSR168 portlet. By following the "Sharing Data Between Two Pages" tutorial, I can get this technique to work without a problem in the web app, but the portlet (deployed locally using the pluto server) does not work. What is the difference between a regular app and a portlet app?
    This shows that portlets apparently handle scope much differently than other applications, so any information relating to this would be helpful to pass along.

    Portlet Life Cycle Differences
    A portlet page is the same as a web application page in the Creator 2 application
    model with differences only in the page life cycle. To best understand the life
    cycle differences, you must first understand how a portal interacts with a portlet.
    This interaction between portals and portlets is defined by the JSR-168 Portlet
    specification. Typically a portal display in the web browser shows multiple
    portlets. That is, when the portal page is displayed, there are actually multiple
    portlets displaying or rendering their content. The job of the portal is to manage
    how these portlets are displayed. Internally, the portal is responsible for telling
    each portlet two things:
    1. When to display itself
    2. If there has been an action, such as a button press, performed inside that
    portlet.
    When a portal wants portlets to display their contents, the portal sends a render
    request to each portlet showing in the portal. If one of the portlets showing in the
    portal has a button tied to an action request, when that button is pushed, the
    portal fires an action request for that portlet. In addition, the portal generates a
    render request for the portlet and all other portlets on the page. You should note
    that the portal implementation fires both action and render requests for each
    action method on a portlet showing in the portal. The implication of this
    interaction means the portlet page being rendered can not make assumptions
    about the state of the values to be shown. Unlike a normal web application page,
    a portlet page can't assume that the page being rendered in the Render Response
    phase is the same page that was built in Restore View. If a portlet wants to
    maintain state across repeated render requests, the portlet must use the session
    bean to store stateful information.
    The main point to remember is a portlet page must always be prepared to render
    it's values from scratch or session data. This implies you should never bind
    portlet page UI components to page bean properties or request bean properties.
    Also, you should never rely on page bean instance variables that might be set
    during an action event.
    Hope this helps.
