CC Simple Wire Removal Dead?

I recently opened one of my projects to find that any layer upon which CC Simple Wire Removal is used displays and renders as pure black. I went straight to the Adobe forums and found this thread full of users having the same experience: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4895694
So, many people with many different configurations are seeing this problem: black (or purple) frames on any layer that uses CC Simple Wire Removal.
My problem is I have a heck of a lot of work done on this project with CC Simple Wire Removal, and I need to finish it and get it rendered!
I've contacted CycoreFX, as some users suggest, but received no reply. I tried telephoning but the line appears to be defunct.
Others suggest reinstalling the Cycore plug-ins from the installation CS6 disk image, or from CS5.5. Since I installed Creative Cloud fresh on this machine via Internet I have no disk images, and no 5.5.
I would appreciate any advice on how to reinstall the Cycore plugins on a Mac running CS6 (11.0.2.11), installed via Cloud. Thank you in advance.

Adobe After Effects CS6 (11.0.3) has been released. This update fixes many crashes and other bugs, including this issue with the CC Simple Wire Removal effect.
Details: http://adobe.ly/AE_CS6_1103
Also, this fix is in After Effects CC (12.0).

  • Importing a filmstrip into PPro, or wire removal

Hi folks. I've just got around to re-editing a short film I made some years ago. It was shot in Panasonic P2 medium high-def (1280x720), but was originally edited in standard-def. I now have the opportunity to re-edit in the native source format. So far, so good, and nearly everything has imported from the old PPro 2 project - I've spent the day re-linking clips to the media files and it looks pretty good.
There was a "flying" stunt in the film done with harnesses and wires strung between trees in the forest where the story took place. In the original edit, I exported these sequences to a photoshop filmstrip format and painted out the wires, then re-imported the filmstrip back into the project.
PPro CS6 doesn't want to co-operate. When was the .flm format dropped as an import feature?
Is there a plug-in to allow this filmstrip to be imported, or am I going to do the wire removal again? I don't mind removing wires again - it'll probably look much better considering the original export/import was standard-def, but I still need to see the exact edit in and out points of the original footage if possible.
    cheers

Yes, look for CC Simple Wire Removal. Here's the Help documentation: http://cycorefx.com/downloads/cfx_hd_std/CycoreFX%201.7%20Manual.pdf

  • Wire Removal with Moving Camera

    Hi Guys,
I'm working on this movie for a project and was really hoping for some VFX advice. It would really help me out.
We have this one shot (you can see in the video below) where the camera is tracking from left to right and an actor gets pulled with a rope out of the scene. Now we didn't have a track for the camera so it was handheld.
I tried to do the same path for a clean plate, but it looks slightly different perspective wise (maybe a step closer).
Anyways, so I am trying to remove the rope from the shot. If you'd like you can take a loot at the video of the 2 shots.
    http://www.vimeo.com/29628208
What would be your plan of action to do this?
I've tried tried line up some of the lean plate footage by eye frame by frame but when it's played back it kinda jumps around and is noticeable.
I would greatly appreciate some wisdom and approaches to take.
Tools I have are After Effects, Mocha, Photoshop
    Thanks guys,
    Tyler

The first thing you need to do is to track the footage with the rope and stabilize the part that has the rope in the shot. You want to eliminate the movement as much as possible. Then you'll mask out just the area that has the rope and run your wire removal there. There should be enough good background material to successfully remove the rope. What looks funky can be corrected with the clone stamp.  Once you're done, you just put the movement back in the shot. If you want to try and use the clean plate you'll have to stabilize and probably time-remap that shot also to get it to match up.
There are a bunch of tutorials on stabilizing footage. I'd start there.
The next time you try and shoot something like this lock off the camera. Your clean plate must match within milimeters and within hundredths of a second to get it to work as a replacement. If your camera isn't on a dolly it's nearly impossible to line up a clean plate in post.

  • Photoshop vs lightroom wire removal

Is there a difference in the way Photoshop handles wire removal vs. Lightroom?  If so... how are they different?
    Thank you!
    Michael

No the tools are not the same.  Photoshop is a full blown image editor it has a vast amount of tool and features Lightroom is not a full blown image editor it need to use an external application to make edits it can not make.  Layers make it possible to use Photoshop in a non destructive manner.   However often you will not because you know how to do things well.  And while you working in Photoshop nothing is committed till you save and you can back up in history and undo steps you don't feel work as well as you want. The big problem is Layers made in Elements  or Photoshop or and other image editor are not support in by Lightroom for lightroom does not support layered tiff files lightroom does not have layers support. Its limited to a flat image and recorded local edit modifications steps.

  • Utility to find & remove dead links?

    Hello.
I'm looking for a (preferably free) utility to find & remove dead links from my bookmarks. It'd be great it if could clean up my Firefox links as well.
Anyone know where to get such a tool?
    Cheers,
    ALF

You're welcome Anthony. I'll post back if I come across something. As I posted, if Bookmarks are the same for your browsers, it's just as easy to clean up a set in Safari, then export the new file to the other browsers. Also, good to make a duplicate copy of the Bookmarks.plist file in your Safari Folder (User Library) before running Prariefire. Just in case of a problem.
Please mark this thread answered. Also, you have the option of "awarding" up to two "helpful" designations - (to the far right of a person's screen name) to anyone who has helped you with information.
In instances where your question was satisfactory answered, one "solved" designation is also available.
Preferred placement for either is next to the post solving or helping you resolve your issue. Makes for easier tracking for those looking for the solution. It also adds to a person's Level Status, which in itself is helpful for others knowing a person's skill level and their ability to assist others with computer questions.

  • Time taken by secondary TMUSREVT to remove dead entries

    Background -
We used to have a huge number of dead entries in our TMUSREVT.DAT (Tuxedo Version: 8.1.362), which were caused by timeouts on the WSL. These were never getting cleaned out and the file size kept growing.
Based on the response to this tmusrevt.dat - dead entries do not seem to be removed. we started a secondary TMUSREVT (with the -S option) and we have a working solution.
    Problem -
However, the amount of time it takes before deleting the dead entries varies a lot - sometimes 20 minutes and sometimes 2+ hours.
Is there any documentation that says when the secondary TMUSREVT will remove the dead entries? I was hoping it would be the -p option in the CLOPT of the TMUSREVT, but that did not seem to have any effect on the time taken to clean out dead entries.
So, the question is - When will the secondary TMUSREVT remove the dead entries? Is the time taken inversely proportional to how busy the environment is?

Edited by: Arvind Ramanan on Feb 11, 2011 2:07 PM

    From Oracle Doc ID 1057214.1
The -p option is configured differently for primary and secondary servers.
For primary TMUSREVT, -p means polling interval for garbage collection of unnecessary entries.
For secondary TMUSREVT, -p means polling interval when the secondary server polls the primary server for changes to tmusrevt.dat and updates its local control file if necessary. At -p inverval, the secondary server will do a tpcall() to get new data from the primary server.
So if -p of secondary TMUSEREVT is big, a subscriber can't get the post message if it sees old data in the control file and it subscribes before the polling interval.
The polling time (-p option) for secondary TMUSREVT depends on your application requirement.
    1)client calls tpsubsribe("event1",...);
    2)TMUSREVT(primary) adds event in tmusrevt.dat
    3)TMUSREVT(secondary) gets latest tmusrevt.dat "-p" interval.
When any process calls tppost() for "event1", if it calls the secondary TMUSREVT (usually after the primary is booted) between steps in 2) and 3), the client in 1) can't get post message because the event database (tmusrevt.dat) of secondary TMUSREVT is old.
So, consider the above scenario when setting the -p option of the secondary TMUSREVT.
The recommendation is to set a small value for the -p option in the secondary TMUSREVT if it uses the secondary TMUSREVT.
The other thing you need to be cautious about is the size of tmusrevt.dat. If tmusrevt.dat is very big, it affects both system resources and performance.
For example, if the client calls tpsubscribe() and if it does not call() tpunsubcribe before the process exits, it will increase the size of tmusrevt.dat because garbage collection of primary servers can delete only two entries at one interval. If many clients call tpsubscribe() and do not call tpunsubscribe() before exiting, many garbled entries will remain in tmusrevt.dat. Also, use of TPEVPERSIST causes entries to remain in the tmusrevt.dat file.
To keep the tmusrevt.dat file small, call tpunsubscribe() when the event is not necessary. If the size is large then it causes TMUSREVT to consume many CPU cycles .
A size of 100K should be okay for tmusrevt.dat.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Simple Search (removing funtionality in advanced search)?

    Hi,
i built a search in a custom BOL using the thmlb:advancedSearch. But i don't want the "advanced" features, like adding more search fields or using greater/lesser/beginns with etc..
Can someone tell me where to find a simpler search implementation or how to remove mentioned features?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
Check the 2nd level inheritance of search context node in your view. While creating advance search views 2nd level inheritance needs to be changed with appropriate advance search classes.
    Like for BP : CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_ASP, BT ->CL_CRM_UIU_BT_ADVS_CN
Check if you have redefined the 2nd level inheritance...
    Hope this helps..

  • How to remove dead files from the library?

    Hello.
I'm using iTunes (7.6.1.9) on Vista (32 bit) mainly for synching my iPod (nano 3G). I organize my files with other tools like mp3tag. Sometimes I rename the folders where tracks are stored (e.g. I add the release year to the folder name). All this is done outside of iTunes.
Now, when I want to access tracks in iTunes, it happens that iTunes doesn't find the files (because the folder or files were renamed). I can re-add the folder to the library, that's no problem.
But how can I remove all dead files at once from the library? I don't feel like searching the complete library myself (for this is what a PC is made for, isn't it?).
Is there any tool that can help me with this?
    Thanks in advance
    Martin

You can use one of Roberst Jacobson's scripts - iTunesRemovenotfound:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/
Or if you prefere to do it in iTunes:
Using a playlist to collect dead tracks for deletion.
Create new regular playlist – Playlist1
Select whole library and drag to Playlist1
Create new Smart Playlist with the rule: Playlist is not Playlist1
This playlist should contain all the dead tracks

  • How do I remove dead shortcuts from the finder favorites menu?

I just bought a new Macbook Pro with Lion OS to replace my old macbook running snow leopard.  To transfer my old data, I use the migration assistant and time machine backup.  For the most part everything went smoothly.  However, now when I open finder, there is a dead shortcut on the favorites menu.  On my old laptop, it linked to a folder on my bootcamp partition, but I don't have a partion on my new computer.  I am unable to move or delete the shortcut from the list.  It's cluttering up my finder sidebar and I would love to get rid of it.
    Any suggestions?

  • Verizon can't or won't remove dead DVR from my equipment list

Several months ago Hurricane Sandy caused a power surge that took out most of my FiOS gear. The tech replaced a whole lot of gear and everthing works. However, the dead dvr he replaced still shows up in my account when I try and remote manage my DVR. Because the dead one doesn't exist, the website gets all buggy and crashy on me.
I have twice tried to get Verizon support to remove the dead dvr from my account. Once I waited on hold for over an hour, another time I waited 45 minutes for on-line chat. Each time they pledged to escalate it, and each time the ticket was closed without resolution.
How do you get support from Verizon for something that's not bill or hardware related?

    cyberkine wrote:
    No joy.
It's not on my bill, it's just an annoyance whenever I use the Verizon site or the app.
Sorry, to here that If you have the time to spend I would call customer service and get a 'supervisor' on the line and resolve to not conclude until 'this matter' is resolved. If you get nowhere with that supervisor then ask for their supervisor, etc., This scenario usually escalates your problem toward someone who will (if only because the entire conversation is recorded and nobody wants to appear as incompetent, at least to their superiors). I've had my best luck using this tactic, as I've found most of their patronizing as just a way of saying they do not have the answer. And you must resolve to remain on the line until you get someone who does.
Remember to take note of all their (customer service, tech support, etc.,) personal information along the way, so you can relay this on to the next person, ie So-and-so said this ...and so-and-so said that!   Details ...details ...details

  • Need disassembly instructions for lid/glass plate of Photosmart 5520 printer to remove dead ants

    Forum,
I have ants under the glass of my printer.  The ants got very excited and freaked out when I pressed the copy button and the light bar turned on!   The ants are dead now as I placed the printer in the freezer for several days in a sealed bag.  Now I need a disassembly procedure allowing me to just gain access to the area under the glass plate so I can remove all the dead ants and pupa before they attract any new ants or fungi.  I am good at taking apart basic electronic products but I would rather have a step-by-step disassembly precedure if available.  The online PDF disassembly instructions for recyclers didn't help because of lack of detail.  Of course, I would also like to be able to put it back together in working order.  I could just leave the ants to mummify if field disassembly is not a good idea.
    Thank you,  Duncan

    Hi DuncanH,
I definetly wouldn't recommend disabbling the printer.  If the printer is still functioning I would let them be.

  • Remove "dead" sidebar Shared item

    On my MBP running Mountain Lion I have a Shared computer link to my TimeMachine (which sits on my QNAP NAS).  Whenever, I click this I get Connection Failed and the Connect As button doesn't respond.  I am also finding that when I try to run my TimeMachine it says can't find it (but has unhelpfully added -2 to the server name).  I am wondering if the "dead" Shared computer item for TimeMachine in Finder is causing this issue with backing up.  I am also running an iMac and that is happily backing up to the same TimeMachine.  I have tried a few things;
Using Cmd+click to drag the item off - no joy, it won't budge
Using Cmd+click to get a right click option - I only get Open and Get Info
Removing the com.apple.sidebarlists.plist file and then relaunching Finder
None of these has any effect - has anyone got any other suggestions?
    Ian

Exactly the same problem here and my NAS is an iomega.
When I connect to the TimeMachine using a diferent name from the one I used to, all goes well, except for the fact that a new sparse file for the backup will be created...
I also noticed that the old backup sparse disk image bundle doesn't have the network id as it should. Maybe that's why the "new ML TimeMachine" doesn't recognize it as a valid backup... But when I use it to enter TimeMachine all goes well... Yeah I know, confusing!
And the "Connection Failed" share in Finder still lives...
    Bottom line:
    - different host alias created for the same NAS IP address where the TimeMachine share lives
    - go to Finder and connect to that share using the new alias (you can simply use the IP Address)
    - go to the TimeMachine configuration -> Select Disk and a "new disk" should appear - the one you've just connected in Finder and voilá, backups should start... the old backup should only be accessible reconnecting the "old disk", the one with the old name.
The new backup sparse disk image bundle is created with the network id.
And the "Connection Failed" share in Finder? Still there...
Not happy with the solution but having backups is more important!

  • How to remove dead app entries?

I had a Linux image on my host before and two app enties in SGD for that.
Now I've reimaged my host to Windows, and a new app entry for Windows appears in SGD and works well.
Two old entries no longer work of course. But how can I remove them?
    Thanks.

You can remove Application objects from the Administration Console. This can be done by going to the Applications tab, selecting the application(s) you want to remove from the table and clicking the delete button.
You can also do this from the command line by using the tarantella object delete command and specifying the name of the application object(s) that you want to remove, using the --name argument.

  • Removing Dead Audio Tracks in Multiclip

    Question for FCP7.
I'm working with a concert sequence that has a lot of problems. The footage wasn't shot properly so TC was a mess, but none the less, after a lot of work, one of our editors was able to craft a sequence with a number of multiclips representing two, sometimes three cameras.
The trouble is, is looks like the sound was recorded onto different tracks for each camera. So a Stereo Mix on 1&2, the Lav on 3 but the boom on 5 for one camera, and the Stereo Mix on 1&2, Lav on 4 and the boom on 5 for the other. Sounds strange I know. So I've got 5 tracks of audio, with one dead track for each camera, but that dead source is on a different track for each camera in Final Cut.
When I try to strip it out for one camera in a multiclip, it also cuts the same track, which is a good source, for the other camera when I switch back.
This is hard to describe I know. Can you have an uneven amount of audio tracks in a multiclip? Can you cut one track from one source, and have it leave the tracks from the other intact?
    Thanks a bunch.

It is possible (and pretty easy) to assign one audio track for the multiclip. I've found that if you want to use more than one track, it's easiest to mix in the other tracks after the cutting is completed.
The FCP6 User Manual (the last with an index...) says this:
To switch only the video of the active multiclip angle in the Viewer:
1 Double-click a multiclip in the Browser or Timeline to open it in the Viewer.
2 Choose View > Multiclip Active Tracks > Video.
You can also choose this option from the Playhead Sync pop-up menu in the Viewer.
3 Click an angle to make it active.
A blue outline highlights the active video angle.
    which I find fairly unhelpful.
I learned a "bass ackward" way of easily setting the audio track that works great once you understand it.
    1. Double-click a multiclip in the Browser or Timeline to open it in the Viewer.
    2. Select a angle that contains the audio track you want to use. There should be both green and blue borders on this clip when selected. (if not, choose Video + Audio from the Playhead Sync (center) drop-down button.)
    3. Using the Playhead Sync drop-down button (the center button above the angle array in Viewer), select Video and then cliuck on any other angle. At this point, there should be a green border on the angle you wish to use for audio and a blue border on the current video angle. From here on, as you cut the audio should stay on its angle while the video will be on whatever angle you have chosen.
I refer to this as "reverse Polish notation", (no flames please")  a term that was used to describe the arithmetic system used on the H-P technical calculators.  In essence, you set the video to indicate where you don't want the audio to be...
    hope this helps
